2521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 18, 2015, 11:59:33 AM
Anniversary is a good time to write more in depth as well.

Let us start from Bitcoin's first anniversary. There is no public post from satoshi commemorating it, and the project did not have that many public reasons for celebrating either. The difficulty had finally risen from the starting value of 1 a few days before, but the community numbered only tens of somewhat active people. Bitcoin did not have reasonable exchange value and the market cap per coins issued was about $8,000.

What happened in the following year seemed like a miracle in comparison - by its second birthday, Bitcoin was widely known around the world in techie/progressive circles, 10,000s of people had first hand experience, hashrate grew by orders of magnitude and the market cap zoomed to $5,000,000.

I would say Monero has pretty much avoided the "1st year" (or compressed it in the pre-exchange era lasting for 1 month) and zoomed directly in the 2nd year. The community is very active, and 10,000s of people have at least speculated with Monero. Just like with Bitcoin then, the use of Monero has required skill, it is a new technology, and tools to use it are only becoming available as the community develops them. The market cap is also in the same range as with Bitcoin then, with the main difference being no ninjamine - I am not accusing satoshi of doing anything immoral such as purposely hiding his project for a year, because the evidence does not suggest this - nevertheless it is good to recognize as a fact that satoshi owned 65% of all bitcoins in its first anniversary, 20% in the second, and still owns 7% (figures are minimum, additional mining with non-recognizable equipment cannot be ruled out).

From the perspective of distribution of coins and quality of the community, which I regard the topmost success factors in the cryptosphere, I am proud to believe that Monero now at least equals Bitcoin in its 2nd birthday.

Now we come to the technology. The obvious advantages of Bitcoin have only slowly become parts of the public knowledge. In any non-moderated discussion or comment section, there invariably are commenters who shout that "Bitcoin is a ponzi" (while not fulfilling any of the qualifications, starting from the lack of central issuer, or payout mechanism). Also "the Chinese will press the button and create more money" (no debunk needed) or "your balance may go poof any day" (happens sadly often, but has rarely anything to do with Bitcoin technology itself, and can mostly be avoided with precautions).

The negatives of open transaction ledger have become more apparent after Bitcoin gained wide recognition in 2013. Payments (so far) are difficult to preemptively block, but criminals and dissidents are now realizing that an untamperable public record of all your financial dealings is not really any better than a record of all your dealings in a bank account. The only difference between those is whether the public can access the information. The parties that you would rather not have the access have it in both cases.

While the general populace is still rather uncertain if the benefits of Bitcoin warrant them to try it out, this "new" information on the drawbacks of Bitcoin is spreading quickly among the people already in Bitcoin. In these conditions it is not very surprising that the BTC/USD rate has also declined and many of the leaders in Bitcoinsphere are actually short!

Monero has had intense experience of the mysterious codebase handed over to it by the CN developers, which according to David Latapie, is 86% rewritten for security reasons, while preserving the original idea by satoshi, and invention/implementation by CN, the ring signatures. During the 1 year, it has been tried to prove broken, both internally and externally, yet with quite meager results. Of all the coins in existence, my understanding is that Monero offers the most proven, most secure way to implement practical and easy-to-use anonymity.

Going to the 2nd year, the risks of some catastrophic failure in the technology are still present, but greatly reduced compared to the early days when the core team themselves only took the measures to understand the code, and there were issues with miner optimization, attacks believed to originate from the CN team, intense FUD, etc.

Pricewise, the record is mixed. Because Monero instantly grabbed the attention of many prominent bitcoiners, and went to exchange very soon, yet did not have any pre/insta/ninjamine/IPO/PoS or such things that quickly can meet the demand, its price rose quickly. The hangover came in the autumn, coupled with the depression in all crypto. Emission that in the summer could not meet the demand, was still sold to the market, and in the end, even the supporters turned to the idea of "selling now, buying back cheaper", the same that in my observation is prevalent in Bitcoin now, after their even longer and more depressing downtrend (don't get hurt!).

Such condition cannot last indefinitely, either the coin is abandoned and becomes worthless, or eventually there is a turn. Since the core team and the community showed very little signs of capitulation, it was only a matter of time, and the time came, and now we are by and large at an all time high in marketcap-measured-in-BTC, while barely started in unit-price-measured-in-USD. I don't very much care about other people's opinions (collectively reflected in these metrics), but if I did, I would regard the former as a proof of the potency of Monero and the latter as a proof of the short-term upside.

Short term, is however not the way I advise to treat Monero. Or depends in the definition. In the outside world, short term investments are a few years. Even a short-term stance towards Bitcoin has been successful, if the term is 2-3 years instead of months or weeks. Monero's development - while labeled as slow - is much faster than Bitcoin's, and that is much faster than most things outside crypto. I advice to be realistic in that anything with a $5 million market cap is likely to fail, and the total loss of investment should be almost the default. But also, the marketcap of any serious monetary system is not $5 million of current Monero, nor $5 billion of current Bitcoin, it starts at about $5 trillion of the current gold. A short-term investment of a few years is best achieved with sell targets after every rise in price (eg. 20% after every double). Even if the investment is long term, a periodic distribution of the stash is advisable, just with lower percents. Only when Monero achieves purchasing power stability can it rid itself from the speculative character, and the purchasing power stability can only be achieved at a very much higher valuation. These things need to be taken into account as facts, regardless of the wishes that they did not exist.

For the following 12 months, I see that Monero needs to, and likely succeeds, in achieving the status of the "leader of the altcoins" and the "hedge of BTC". There has not been any new alts since Monero that strive to this position, all the new production is either lame clones or 2.0 coins, which serve a different need and segment. The alts currently above XMR in marketcap (filter premined&non-mineable) are Litecoin, Dogecoin and Peercoin, none of which has shown much development or innovation in the last year, and all of which being copies of BTC, suffering from the public blockchain.

The developers are clear in the development issues and they will be released when ready. While some say that mainstream adoption requires GUI and whatnot, I am strongly on the opinion that mainstream is not the target group for a currency that only has a few 10k owners atm. Increasing the valuation is a target that can be achieved by explaining the merits to the people who have money (new money VC-type guys). Increasing the adoption happens quite naturally among the BTC-owners once they have time to think about things. All alts are regarded as shitcoins by many, solely because of ignorance. The same time that, applied to my thinking, lead me to convert from mainstream to silver, and from silver to BTC, and from BTC to XMR, works also on these people, slowly. I envision that this process will start on this 2nd year of Monero, and the results are already visible as an increased marketcap by the end of the 2nd year.
2522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 18, 2015, 09:58:15 AM
As for 280, first of all - it does not seem it is falling.

Even if it does, technically the only sure consequence is that it becomes a strong resistance. Meaning that so far it has been risk-free to buy at 280 and sell higher, it would reverse and selling at 280 becomes the risk free bet. These tend to fulfill themselves.

Here is a pitfall - it's difficult to determine what is real "falling" and what is not. In extreme volatility, even drop to 200k intraday and the subsequent rise to 300k does not constitute a "fall" rather is a further sign of the level "holding". In this case selling at the bottom makes you feel quite stupid very soon.

Well, if it "falls" and cannot be penetrated upwards, this may or may not lead to a significant decline, and may or may not lead to volatility. A fall to 260 and price stickiness there is very much possible.

The price level has in the last months been decided by the pressure of accumulation by new money vs. the willingness to push the price higher doing so. I still see very little speculative activity ("pump" etc.) that would have played a role and I also don't see that it would in the future. This cooling off has pretty much purged the few long speculators that entered in in the last stages in the runup to 430k.

This new money is not scared of the price falling to 200k or even 100k (not that they believed it would happen anymore than I do, and not that they did not understand that they collectively are the ones to decide if it happens or not, any less than I do). They don't mind getting more coins for the amount that they have already decided to invest.

They probably pay little attention to the admittedly quite well-served adage that the price can be <200 or >300 but not in between. They are often denominated in USD, or are not superstitious, or just frankly don't care, as a possible $25k or $100k or whatever investment is a side-side bet in their multimillion dollar portfolio, and the total time allocation to the investment might be zero until it has proven itself by rising at least 10x. (Cf. my involvement in Bitcoin where I did not even check the price nor moved my coins from Gox until several months after as it was clear it had not died).

So I once again write in "speculation" thread with the advice to "not speculate". Kelly says that the highest percentage you should invest in a binary outcome should equal your probability of success. Since XMR's P of success is obviously not 100% or even close, investing this much leads you necessarily to consider it as a non-binary outcome asset, which (although is true Wink ) is not an optimal mindset for maximizing the long-term.

Happy Moneroversary to all! Smiley

We congratulate the Chancellor, Duke of New Liberty, and the new High Rector, Prince of Soul, for their nominations and wish them years to fulfill their visions concerning the University.

The deadline for reclaiming the donations has ended, therefore we hope that the new administration, with all the help they might request and receive from Chancellor Emeritus Cryptoluna, would promptly proceed with the division of assets.

If such a thing as the new Main Building is wished and finances allow, both we and Soul are eager to offer our best lands in Br.3 for the purpose. The Palace of Culture and Science will host many institutions, but is not easy to be split in ownership. The central tower could be transferred to the University if they so wish, however. Our hope in view of the recent events is that the University would not aspire towards the heavens though.

The Prince of Soul reminds all of the possibility of acquiring CH1600Y gold coins at 2 mil p.o., to support the reconstruction. Only 100 are offered and all proceeds go to the University. The coin is large and pictures the University Main Building surrounded with words DONATOR UNIVERSITATIS (benefactor of the university).

my impression was different today. only 1 buyer and many sellers that took the opportunity to exit nicely before 280 eventually breaks. the 10k

It is a mistake to sell when it has not even broken. After 6 tries and a large and steadfast bid support, it seems more that people wish it to fall than it actually was about to fall. This is a low-risk buy zone rather.

Hey risto. At what price are we having the party at your house? Also, am I invited?

Grand Malla Bitcoin Ball (intercontinental bitcoin event) is there in June. There are no commitments to have a XMR event yet - what would you like? Smiley

Looking at the rise from .001x to .043 as a whole, a return to .0018 to .0022 would seem a likely retracement zone

How likely? I possibly regard it as less likely than you, therefore making a +EV bet possible for both of us!

Step 1: Put yourself in a position where it is unwise for TPTB to attack/harass you.

Step 2: Kindly ignore them (while remaining knowledgeable and vigilant of their power, ignore their "authority" which they do not have).

Step 3: Tell your friends.

Step 4: As enough people ignore them, the situation is no more dangerous than using mobile when you drive.

The Science Is Settled!!!

Is Economics a science now?
The results just seem to be for sale to the highest bidders.
The international war on cash is accelerating.

What's next?...fine art, rare goods, will only exist in registries with a bank?
After cash is banned, it's likely gold will be next. They tried it once before and this time they will succeed. While nations are trying to repatriate their gold and Wall Street issues paper gold, physical gold itself will be under attack.

Well, I think their goal is not just to make life miserable, but to actually end it. It is illogical (to me, I am open to ideas!) that the Matrix-type total slavery as just the provider of energy without free will, movement etc would be the final goal.

- They don't need it. Robotics can provide all the stuff that is needed, at max the "needed" amount of human servants could be a few times the population of the masters.
- If possible, to avoid retaliation, as much people as possible should be killed at once, once the killing begins. They can always be let multiply afterwards when control is easier.
- It has never happened in history that a country build concentration camps and they will not soon be filled with dissidents. (Or think of prisons if camp feels too bad.) Never. They have always been "correct" in estimating the "need"  Tongue This is a dire warning to the thinking people in the USA. According to historical evidence, you are targeted for extermination. Reversing the course of the tide is wishwork, battling against it may in some cases be heroic, but escaping it is not very stupid either.

To not sound repetitive, I repeat:

The implicit goal in the actions that the money masters are doing, is total control and enslavement of mankind. It is already much further than most readers are able to understand.

If that wasn't enough, they also have the explicit goal of killing off at least 90% of all people. While they have had the goal for decades at least, the reality has gone to the opposite direction. It is quite plausible that since reaching the total control of mankind enables killing off 90%, and both are the goals, one would follow the other.

People are deficient in logic since they cannot comprehend this, drugged in the mind since they don't care about this, and hopelessly conditioned to lick their money masters' a$$ since they believe that this would not happen even though their masters say it will, and the people themselves are assisting it by staying in their jobs, in their tyrannical countries, not speaking out, not helping their neighbor when he is targeted, ...

The only thing required for evil to triumph is that the good men do nothing.

I am disappointed that the prosperity of the 1960s in the USA created a generation that has allowed all their liberties taken away from them in 50 years, and soon their life as well.
2528  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: April 17, 2015, 08:56:06 AM
Oh btw, the voting on the top of the thread lead me to think...

I voted "gold" for the first time in years. Bitcoin seems to have too little leadership and too much issues with the fungibility. I mean, it was probably designed to be fungible, and in any meaning of common sense it is. But the money masters and their tools are not obliged to follow common sense, and leaving any loophole open for them to spy on people and make their life difficult as a result, has proven that it will be exploited. They are like domestic pests, to get rid of them you first remove any food and other desirability, and then poison your home for a time.

This should not be construed as advice to kill any approaching federal agents; "removing the food" means that you don't possess anything that they could be able to seize and "poisoning your home" refers to other precautions taken that lead to the attacker side to suffer the actual loss as a result of the attack (cf. Gandhi).

As a "funny" (Kafkaesque) sidenote: Don't write things such as "This should not be construed as advice to kill any approaching federal agents" on the Internet unless you are ready to be accused of instructing to kill the agents. It has happened to me once. I was finally sentenced in court for "calling Silverbank a bank" (which could with some imagination be considered to be illegal). Problem is that I never did it, and explicitly where Silverbank the name was even mentioned, it was accompanied with "Silverbank is not a bank."

That was the straw that broke my apprehension towards the justice system. I am ok if people engage in such charade in their private parties, and - as a man of wit - would consider to voluntarily attend. But cheese, these guys think that they for real can waste my time and actually do harm to me with their insane obsession of twisting the truth 180°. Police is gross-ironically the only Finnish government institution that still enjoys my respect. They commit crimes, like everyone, but the number of policemen killed on duty might actually be higher than the number of Police victims, and that's not very common. Also, many other state agencies can apparently freely be used to persecute me. Police seems to be different, a state institution with integrity, or at least checks in place to prevent extortion.

Whether it is a premium or discount, determines if the price will next go up or down.

Same applies to everything, eg. Silvervault is currently selling physical silver that you can take delivery of (without extra cost), at less than the melt value of the silver.

This would not exist if silver was in an uptrend.

Btw not a terribly bad way to purchase your silver, as you can freely take delivery and tax-free carry it with you to any EUropean country.

Updated: https://forum.getmonero.org/14/events/237/monero-meetup-berlin-germany-may-24th-2015

This is confirmed for Sunday, May 24th, 2015. We have the venue from 4pm - 7pm, and we will start promptly at 5pm.

A venue has been kindly provided for us by Thoughtworks at Werkstatt Berlin -

Mülhauser Str. 6. Hofgebäude 1. OG
10405 Berlin
Germany

Afterwards we will move to the Metzer Eck (an old-school Berliner pub) for fresh beer and good conversation.

Berlin is close enough that the royal retinue might be seen there.

It very much looks like that the 40k XMR support is real.

Though we have tried 280 price so many times that it is about time for it to fall, I am still uncertain if it will happen now or not. At least that 40k someone needs to sell first.

If we turn up now, it is a tremendous show of force and a buy signal (provided that you can buy at a reasonable price, let's say <330). If we turn down, I have the intuition that the immediate collapse to 180 that everyone hopes might not be happening. There are support levels in between. It's just that in the very big picture, the price has clearly liked <200 and >300 more than the area in between.

The reason why I write so little here is that the important things don't change that quickly. Monero is still very undervalued even at 0.01. Tbh even 1000x the current price is not near the potential of the currency and does not allow its full utility. The adoption of a cryptocurrency has strong positive feedback loops that can surprise everyone.

Glimpses of the Character management and Levels system in the V.4: Reconstruction

The Levels system stays basically as it is.

Royalty and Landed Nobility (- followed by the titular domain, and the actual domain; actual domains will vary based on the submissive efforts of the Royal CryptoArmy lead by these Nobles starting from V.5)

L15 (HM) King/Queen - kingship - Kingdom
L14 (HH) Grand Duke/Grand Duchess/Grand Prince/Grand Princess/(HRH) Royal Prince/Royal Princess - (several) - Grand Duchy/etc.
L13 (HH) Duke/Duchess - dukedom - Duchy/-ies
L12 (HE) Prince/Princess - principality - Duchy/Counties
L11 Marquess/Marchioness - marquessate - County/-ies
L10 Earl/Countess - earldom - County

Junior Nobility

L9 Baron/Baroness
L8 Knight/Dame/Jungherr/Jungfrau

Commoners

L7 Wizard/Doctor
L6 Master
L5 Expert
L4 Novice
L3 Beginner

Newbies

L2 Stranger
L1 Visitor

Promotions

All Ancients keep their ranks. New players will start from L1 Visitor, with new EXP points directing their rise up to L3. EXP is based on active playing time regardless how the time is spent for now.

The rise to L4 and L5 requires some economic activity, and happens very quickly if the player is participating in any subgames, and slowly if he only spends time in Trollbox. There is a list of conditions that are automatically evaluated and these promotions happen without human intervention.

The promotion to L6 is manual and done by Town clerks, according to objective criteria, similar to the ones used automatically in L4/L5.

Higher promotions remain the domain of the King, and similar qualifications are used as before.

Age plays a part in the promotions. The minimum age to start the play as Visitor is 15, but people of higher age are encouraged to play so, because that will lead to faster promotions. The downside is that it means less years remaining. As a guideline, 20 years of age should equal promotion to L4, 30 years to L5, 40 years to L6, and 50 years to L7. Not all reach the higher levels though, partly for the reason that the living conditions in the Kingdom have swiftly deteriorated and 40 years is already a mature and 50 an admirable age.

Privileged Entry

To continue the good practices of the Ancient Era, it is possible to start the game at a higher level with the qualifications and determination. The following options are available:

Foreign Noble Introduced to the King with a Pledge of Allegiance

Upon a stamp tax of 150,000,000 m, the new entrant (of 21 years minimum) is ratified of his L9 Baron status achieved in other realms, and he gets a private tutoring with some of the existing Nobles and a private introduction chat with the King, and may start the game with these valuable connections.

Foreign Master Presentation of Credentials

Upon a stamp tax of 50,000,000 m, the new entrant (25 years minimum) may present the proofs of his Mastery to some of our Nobles, and start the game at rank L6 Master.

Scion Introduction to the Nobility

Extant Earls and higher may Introduce their offspring to the game, which grants them the lowest Noble title L8 Jungherr. A 50,000,000 m accreditation fee is charged. Minimum age of Introduction is 14 years, and the characters will be given Barony earliest in the age of 21 years, unless the father dies and the King deems that the titles and/or domains should pass to the minor. (All other possessions may be bequathed by will.)

Privileged Entry Based on Real World Credentials

While serious players are encouraged to be ratified in their Baron status as described above, in exceptional circumstances a non-anonymous player may get a L6-L10 entry based on his past merits elsewhere. Lesser (or higher) ranks will not be given based on past merits. The exact guidelines for the procedure will be drawn, and it will involve a token fee, which is designed to be paid by the introducer (this is mainly designed to bring in the friends of existing players).

Other things good to know

Level L3 is renamed, because the previous name (Freeman) was not factual. Being a peasant you are subservient to the feudal lords, and the feudal lords are subject to the King. By coming to the CryptoTown and settling there, you are still not a freeman. The Town is not a freetown, since it is the capital of the Crypto Kingdom, and the King reigns in the Town (albeit with limitations based on the agreements with the Town Council) as well as in the surrounding Old Duchy. "Beginner" is used instead, to conform with the successive levels.

Baron L9 is not a particularly difficult rank to achieve. But achieving it quickly is difficult. There is the standard path of commoner promotions, which you can grind through faster in WoW, but still it does take its time. This time is well spent though in learning the mechanics of the game, so advisable for those who want to experience all the facets, and not pay extensively to do it. It is intended that reaching Baron before you die is possible without ever investing a dime. How - that requires playing Wink

For those who see the beauty of our economic engine and want to experience it to the full, the Foreign Noble option is for you. Your character is given decades to fulfill what you desire, and has the opportunity to get promoted to the higher levels, which - again - does take time, and that time can in only a limited fashion be shortened with money. It is more probable to reach - say - Marquess by investing heavily, vs. not investing, but it will take its time nevertheless.

The administration of the vast possessions both in countryside (soon) and in the CryptoTown, can potentially take much time, and certainly requires much skill. A wealth of wealth managers are available for different tasks, possibly subordinate Commanders for the Army units as well. The game offers easy ways to profit of the success (buying gold), rather easy ways (owning rental space), laborious ways (Resta, Peddler) and ways that require great skill and connections (Quarry, Building Company, developing whole chapelries of land), as well as ways that allow you to profit from your time (Architecting - the royal commissions for 5-N total development reach almost 2,000 XMR, the money I would rather give to anyone else, provided that he can do the job as well as I can - practice makes perfect).

The L7 Wizard/Doctor is a honorary level for commoners that reach very high skills in V.6 Skills and Businesses. Most commoners do not reach the level for the reason that they are promoted Barons much before. Currently most careers are business, not artesan, and therefore success is financial, and Baron is the way to go. In the future, more Wizards(handicraft etc.)/Doctors(learning) will be promoted.

In addition to being Jungherr, the L8 is also Knight. It can be used as a starting level for high-ranking people (recently used for the remaining Monero Core Team members). It also follows if a commoner is Knighted in any of the Orders, or becomes a CO of an Army unit. (Army creation is not freely available though, King as the General determines the suitability of the candidates and the need for a new Company).

L14 will soon be used. It has a variety of titles, some of them being Royal, others not. While it is likely that I live for another realyear easily (being only 34 in physical age, and a realyear adds 30 gameyears, and having access to best foods and conditions), there are things such as battles that may abruptly shorten life. The line of succession will be formed from the holders of L14, to ensure the continuity. I feel the game still has a lot of aspects I can contribute as a King, as well as the lead designer (the development, and the admin part being the ones I don't especially enjoy needing to be involved in), but once my capabilities are deemed deficient, the new King will start ruling. Don't worry - I don't see this happening in a year at least, and in case you want to be the next King, you should know what it takes and play accordingly. Wink

The idea in the Rulebook that promotion to L5, L6 and L9 entails a tax is scrapped. The Town finances show that we are able to raise all the money we need without resorting to such lame ways of raising it. Excessive taxation does not serve a real purpose, because the closed system the game is, just means that Town will redistribute the proceeds to the gold holders. Even though I own half of the gold with an obvious financial incentive to tax, I am magnificent enough to forgo the temptation if no other need is present than lining my pockets. The gratitude to all the Ancients, without which we would not have a game, should hopefully prevent that. If not, I am open to criticism regarding factual issues in the Town Council Smiley

HE Dr. Paul Choo, Ph.D, The Prince of Soul, AOD-Col, RT-3

Everyone with an interest in the University, Culture & Science, the shareholders of the Most Ancient and Worshipful Corporation of the Town Hall, and for the success of the Kingdom

Greetings,

Despite my involvement in the Kingdom since 1418, and the fact that I am the person who has seen the largest number of other players in the real life, and participated in the (1st) Satoshi Roundtable - among the newer entrants there time and again circulates a rumor that I don't even exist.

The rumor is false: I very much do, and converse intensely with my friend, HM the King, about what is the right course of action for the Game, and for our commercial success as well. The King has instructed me to buy gold when it was undervalued, and huge areas of land, when that was. Having a sound financial base, which I do, due to my successful endeavors in foreign lands, and my advanced age, enable me to take a long-term stand in current matters.

The loss of the University (Main Building) in its youth, as it had barely started to produce fruit, was a terrible loss of morale for many. I am fully in favor of the King's new, decentralized plan, believing that it will more quickly, more fairly, more steadfastly and more robustly increase the Culture&Science production in the Kingdom, which we need to increase our living conditions and compete with foreign lands in the new century that is ahead of us. I can draw the parallels with the decentralized Army, which I strongly believe is a winning concept compared to the one where the forces would be in one hands only, no matter how noble our King is, he is now mortal as well as the rest of us, and the successor situation is not at all clear. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. In the same line of thought - I welcome the increased role of the Church in new player accommodation etc., while hoping that the organisation could be made transparent and decentralized. I offer my token pledge of 100 gold to the Church.

I own land in Culture&Science, the Borough 3 which I support to be renamed University, once a few colleges have started operations there. I am willing to offer this land at reduced prices for the new colleges. The 3-NW already has the Soul Park, which fulfills the criteria of the area being suitable for the King's hopes of the University being sprinkled with green. I will also establish the University Institute of Eastern Cultures there once the reconstruction situation allows.

In addition, I have decided to not claim back the 1,500,000,000 m donated to the old University. It was a donation, and it was spent according to the wishes, and the University was one of the 3 "my" buildings that received heavy damage in the earthquake. I was the person who suffered the most, by far, but hold the understanding that natural forces cannot be affected, human life is not secure, and the rich are in that position so that they could help their inferiors in the times of suffering, while letting them alone to grow their fortunes when no such help is needed.

In addition, I have, rather ironically, minted a PAULUS PRINCEPS SEOUL // DONATOR UNIVERSITATIS gold coin, in the same year that the building pictured in this large and beautiful 25 CKG coin was completely destroyed. Watching the coin - gold is eternal - sealed my determination that not a penny from the donations would pass back to me. Rather,

I pledge 100*CH1600Y gold coins to be sold to collectors and supporters of the University at a price of 2 million each (p.o.) to help to make the claims whole. If not all the coins are sold in this manner, I will redeem the remainder and pay the 2 million each myself to the University. If the claims can be made whole, it is up to the administration how to use the funds.

Which brings us to the administration. The King explained his dream of the new University to me and persuaded me to take the position of Chancellor, after HE The Marquess resigned and reaffirmed his non-willingness to continue even after the King's hint. As for the qualifications, he pointed out my position as Professor IRL and very wide connections to all walks of life. After some hesitation, I decided to accept, and promised that I can allocate the time to fulfill the duties in V.4 (against his promise that he will continue to take care of my finances as he has done so far). We both feel that the only person more suitable for taking the helm as Chancellor at this point is HH The Duke of New Liberty, but he has not been able to be contacted lately. If he is interested and can spare the time for the role that requires good interpersonal skills, we are both happy to pass it on to him.

As for the Town Hall, it has been difficult to reach the other stockholders. With careful examination of the state of the current structures, of the company finances, taking into account the wishes to widen the New Liberty Street, but also that the Town Hall is a Cultured Building and for a reason, I propose the following:

- The Town Hall will be restored.
- We aim to not raise new funds via a stock offering, because many owners would experience dilution, and the commercial valuation of the Town Hall is hard to determine - an offering would lead to the increase in my ownership for sure, and while I do have the interest in increasing it, this means would be perceived unfair by some at least.
- To raise the money for repairs, an offering of the immensely historical TH1454 bronze coins will be made, in addition other non-essential property will be sold, and of course we hope that the ongoing activities will be profitable as well.
- Taking a short-term loan from the Hypothecary Bank is also possible if it cannot reasonably be avoided.

As for the Portal, I have deemed the loss of 2,500 sqm of prime commercial, restaurant, office and apartment space to be an instance of extremely bad luck. Nevertheless, since The Prince of OZ has built a multipurpose property just the opposite, the reconstruction of the Portal is not of immediate importance, and the site will be cleared. The remaining structures, the corner bar and the Department Store, are left standing and operational.

The calamities, misfortunes, and losses are meted out to us humans to enable us to better understand life and feel and appreciate the good times more deeply. With pleasure I hear of the plans of large new constructions in 5-N, the zeal in the Fellowship of the Round Table, even the schemings of the Church to make the gameplay interesting for people with lesser means. My feeling is that we are just about to begin this game, and consequently hinted the King that my financial involvement in it will continue in the following months.

Rouen-RWWC windows auction closed. The final price settled at 120,000 m, indicating that the owners of unwindowed buildings are willing to wait for the RWWC domestic capacity to gear up, or do not see that a 33-50% temporary reduction in payouts is such a big deal as the original scare figure of "up to 100%".

Concerning University
- The Character University continues as the coordinating body, but its property is liquidated and reverts to the donators. The donators must file a claim in 3 days.

Royal letter:
"We claim back the land donated to University in 1466 (U1-U3). We are good with U6 from the original donation having been sold to the Prince of OZ, and do not claim it nor the proceeds. Neither we claim U7, which will revert to the Royal CryptoArmy instead.

We do not claim any gold, Items, stone, or money which we have gifted.

We pledge 500,000,000 moneretos to help the science production in the New University context, by zoning and selling land in Culture&Science below market value. In addition, upon certain conditions, this land will be created a haw, which is a quite valuable attribute (the savings in taxes even at the projected very low tax rate and considering a semi-urban e=0.75, at 0.15% daily rate, amount to 10 mil/q in land price). The haws are granted by the King, but the tax reduction suffered by the Town."

The Prince of Soul is considering his answer and the other donators are encouraged to think theirs as well. Just think what colleges you are interested in operating, how many, how big, and make a roadmap to get there! This should determine what to claim from the common pot. The University will go on! Except 10 times stronger! Smiley

Remember that the Rouen-RWWC windows auction DL is noon today.

What happened to Hal was truly abominable, he spent his last days fighting off extortion attempts and whatnot.

Gov I suppose?

folio-hat, what a great conspiracy to raise generations of people with habit of not listening to those really having something to say! Smiley

But on the other hand, most people are anyway not naturally inclined to be curious about truth. They believe whatever the feeders tell them, and this trait has not really changed over the centuries. Granted, these people today have more purchasing power and are more visible, and actually can interact with you and call you folio-hat!

You should not be too concerned. In the previous centuries, you would not have even seen these people due to class separation.

Sorry, your post is not bad, but I just don't want it here. This thread is self-moderated and we are striving to go forward. Everyone here has been through that already. Welcome to Bitcointalk! Smiley

The "store of value" market is fragmented. Diamonds also occupy a corner, despite several drawbacks such as unusability in street trade, 30% spread in stores, etc.

The few good points in diamonds are good value/weight ratio (yet worse than crypto) and that there is a cartel that regulates supply keeping them not depreciating in value more than paper money does.

I was thinking of purchasing diamonds years ago, but opted on gold to supply that need (I am not that rich). Now I hardly have any gold because BTC fulfills the need better. The thinking is all the time going on, as BTC becomes more regulated, it is soon not suitable as an all-around money, and XMR may take that role. There is no competitor at present, and if one comes, it's 1+ year behind which is a lot.

Like I said in the previous post, this is a winning position. Just let it play out.
