So log trend taken out, 200d EMA taken out, 50/200d SMA crossover, 1d, 3d and 1w MACD positive... looking pretty good  Cool
2522  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: July 05, 2015, 05:01:09 PM
And it won't change by itself. There needs to be work done to make smaller units more widely used.

Look at language. The dropping of unstressed sounds in words is a natural process which occurs without deliberate work. I believe zeroes will be dropped similarly.
2523  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: July 05, 2015, 02:36:22 PM
I'm not a fan of the endless zeroes myself yet here I am on this forum. It's just not how most minds are comfortable conceiving numbers.

Do we measure cells in metres? The zeroes are a convention, and we can adopt any power for our base units, as befits our purpose.

So it's an issue that will resolve itself, like these tasty anthrax spores on my microscope slide. Yums.
2524  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: July 04, 2015, 06:09:45 PM
Coinbase and Bitpay etc tried to get rolling with 'bits' but that seems to have petered out somewhat. I agree with you. There are many on here who often say it doesn't make a difference but they're probably up to their eyes in coding. The average human does not want to contend with 6 zeroes before they get to the meat of their payment.

Just build a giant baby creche for them.
2525  Economy / Speculation / Re: [prediction] Next spike $560,000 14 months from now on: July 04, 2015, 05:53:56 PM
I would be stupid happy for $10k-$50k. Somewhere around $70k I will probably go into shock and have a heart attack.

I'll be dancin' on my rooftop. I assume this will quickly result in my paralysis, but at least I'll be able to afford my health care bills.
2526  Economy / Speculation / Re: KncMiner XBT: 681 BTC traded at 235.95$ on: July 04, 2015, 12:15:23 AM
day 1 history : 949 BTC (189783 shares) traded at 232.84$
day 2 history : 546 BTC (109376 shares) traded at 232.6$
day 3 history : 455 BTC (90988 shares) traded at 232.2$
day 4 history : 681 BTC (136233 shares) traded at 235.95$

The SEK/USD exchange rate has been changing these days; if you take that into account, the implied bitcoin prices are a bit different.  See my numbers here.

Yep, this factor is still being ignored. SEK/USD is 0.1183 today. Compared to 0.12058, that's about a $5 dollar difference at $250/BTC.
2527  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin goes to 1200-1300 within a month. on: July 03, 2015, 11:54:43 AM
No offence to the chap, but his predictions aren't quite so wonderful as made out by some, and to go up to 1200 within a month would entail a rise more rapid and spectacular than that of the previous bubble. We're hardly in a position for that kind of euphoria just yet.
2528  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: July 01, 2015, 07:02:17 PM
Yep, people have quite a "leaky" interpretation of the system.
Which people are you referring to? If you're referring to me I suggest you read my explanations and rebute those points rather than ad hominem in this roundabout manner.
2529  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: July 01, 2015, 05:56:05 PM
Funny to hear BTC1000 mentioned. One could have already been a millionaire with that many, so I don't know why you'd be holding out now. Also, this number implies that Bitcoin will return to $1000 only to flap about in the wind like an old sock.

People don't get that it doesn't really matter whether the coins are kept, sold on Bitfinex, sold privately, or whatever. The bitcoin economy as a whole has to absorb that reward in any case. Someone has to buy the coins. If the miner keeps them, then he himself is buying the coins. We can't pretend those coins aren't sucking something out of the BTC economy because if there were no block reward, he would have to buy existing coins to maintain his BTC income.

Yep, people have quite a "leaky" interpretation of the system.

I think you'll need to bring a sickly orphan along to the interrogation and a foreign medical invoice. In fact a whole new cottage industry could spring up - vegetable rental. They get a cut of what you manage to get out.

I smell an opportunity!!

Using the Enterprise's transporter to break into Greek bank vaults would be a gross betrayal of Starfleet ethics.
2531  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 29, 2015, 06:04:37 PM
Wow, I did not expect Bitcoin to have a big move up today.

Didn't you ? I'm surprised that you are surprised, tbh.

In addition to my surprise at your being surprised I am, in addition, rather surprised that the price hasn't risen more, given the imminent threat to the Euro that is playing out in front of our eyes.

Investors are stoic until a minute before midnight, then they are crazed and foaming at the mouth.

We will see

Some need daylight, some need but a bead of light. A third case also exists...

Fear's empire seems to be collapsing around him.
2534  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin points of massive price movement on: June 02, 2015, 11:06:58 PM
Point of no return is when and IF bitcoin price falls under $100. but I doubt that we will see that day anytime soon.

I would have said $31.9099 was a better target. There's still a gap between that and $50 that was never filled on the run up to Karpele's giant man-tits, er, I mean the bubble.
2535  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 01, 2015, 05:27:35 PM
Got some more at ~222. I'm ready again for uptrend!

Well, I'll be holding off. Maybe at 170.
2536  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predict the price of Bitcoin on 1 April 2016 - win CBX (Crypto Bullion) on: June 01, 2015, 03:14:58 AM
Spotted an error in my table. The guess for 2370.29 was by mladen00 not rjclarke2000. Embarrassed
2537  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 01, 2015, 01:58:00 AM
I call this stagnation thing gothic. not in the architecture sense but those young people dressed in black and looking glum/angry even on a sunny day. I am 61 and have seen goths since I first noticed them at about 11?. The number of goths leaving gothdom (eg to get married, take up jobs etc) seems to perfectly match the new numbers joining (ie from the 13-18 age group). So at any time over the last 50 years the same number of goths seem to be walking around.

I'm not going to Google image search frantically for a goth sloth. If that's what you thought...

I'm a weak man. Embarrassed

lol, that's totally slothic.
2538  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predict the price of Bitcoin on 1 April 2016 - win CBX (Crypto Bullion) on: June 01, 2015, 12:30:37 AM

Nice  Wink

He probably means stagnatingish, but I don't suppose anyone's invented a proper word for it yet. Please let me know if there is a proper trading term for it, besides sidewaysish.

Modern-manish, because one's entire life is just so.
2540  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could we really go wrong/bad after all these efforts ? on: May 31, 2015, 02:44:15 PM
Not a soul on Earth one can tell you whether you'll be right or wrong. That's the beauty and scariness of the whole thing.

I have coins. I use them as much as possible. I think there's a good chance they'll be worth more in the future, maybe a ludicrous amount more. It could also easily die from indifference or technical failure. I can live with both scenarios. I'm not convinced there'll be much of a middle ground.

What I didn't do is bet the house on another 2013 style rise a couple of months down the line. That would obviously be pretty sweet but the world doesn't work that way. There were plenty of people talking about taking loans out right on the cusp of the price starting its lengthy descent.

Buyers were treating it like a dead cert back then. What has unfolded since should be a lesson in just how insanely risky this truly still is and how warped the market is.

I think it'll take many years to fulfill its potential. It's a hard/suicidal sell to someone looking in from the outside right now. When doubts have been largely assuaged and there's something approaching proper deflation, that's when things might become surreal.

5-10 years is the time frame I went into it with. It'll either be on its way to real success or terminal decline. By 2021 annual coin inflation will fall to 1.8% and by then infrastructure will make today look quaint. I think that's when we'll start to really know.

You'll either be kicking yourself or ecstatic like everyone else who is here watching it unfold.

I think it's a fine time to make a bet on this whole thing. The road to the future is being built in ways that would've been labelled flat out delusional had you suggested it on here in 2011/12. It's top down deal, though. The people won't come until the path has been laid for them. That it's actually taking place right now is vastly more important and reassuring than any short term price movements.

^ Likely one of the winners in this game. Too many starry-eyed groupies, blinded by Bitcoin's fame, were attracted like moths to the flame.
