2541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why be allowed to create tokens with the same names? on: August 11, 2021, 09:26:51 AM
Very disappointing! I wonder why there are so many tokens with the same names on the blockchain network, I have seen so many scammers take advantage of new projects by creating a scam token using those new project names! Many people have already lost money because of this trick [mostly beginners]. If a new project creates its own token and becomes popular, scammers will create a fake token using the original name of the new project! So if beginners do not know how to do in-depth research then it will be easier for them to lose their money by buying fake tokens.

The creators of these blockchain networks have used great knowledge to create these technologies and so far they work perfectly, so why not make an effort to improve them so that they can limit only one name for new tokens to avoid fraud? I think if they can do that it will also help add value to the new project because scammers will no longer have the opportunity to create a fake token using the details of the new one.

What are your thoughts on this?

I also think that this is kind of a flaw of blockchain projects that the names are not unique and can just be used again if u create a new token on a blockchain no matter ho many of these projects already exist. This was not that big of a deal like a year ago but with the rise of all the dexes that started with the release of uniswap it can now be a real problem especially for crypto beginners. Almost everytime now when a new and hyped project is about to be listed on uniswap or pancake swap or on another dex scammers are creating pools with a token that has the same Name and abbreviation than the "real" one. Now if you are one of the unlucky dudes that buys this token instead of the real one then you just lost all your funds.
2542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 10, 2021, 08:59:23 PM
China is giving tough competition to United states when it comes to the gold medal and overall medal race. We have now 3 years before the next Olympics and there is very much possibility that in that Olympic, china will take the lead over united states. This will be an historic moment in history, if it happens.

This time the European and American teams were at a disadvantage, because the Games took place in Asia. But the next edition is scheduled to take place in Paris, and therefore the disadvantage should be for Asian teams like China and Japan. And I have serious doubts regarding the future of China in sports. Their population is rapidly ageing, and this reduces the player pool.

I am pretty sure that it has 0 impact on the performances of the american and european athletes that the olympic games where in japan this time. The athletes arrive early enough to the Games that jet lag is no longer a problem once the competitions begin. Nowadays, everything is scientifically and medically planned. The European and American athletes would not have performed better on their home continent. For the spectators from Europe, of course, it was not ideal because a competition day began at night time and when people usually came home from work it ended, so from this point of view the competitions took place at exactly the wrong time.
2543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba inu anyone? on: August 10, 2021, 04:06:33 PM
Just recently (needed the money) I sold all of my doge.

I made a lot of money out of it but nothing significant (40 USD purchase turned to 170).

Now Doge is too expensive to buy 1111 doge so I’m looking for a cheap coin with potential.

Shiba sounds okay but literally 50% say it’s a scam and 50% say it’s legit. Can you guys chime in please?
  Huh

I don't think that shiba-inu is a scam, i mean they are a second generation meme-coin so they have per definition no real use case and basically exist for no reason so i would say that meme-coins can't actually even be a scam because they never promised to offer a real product or a use-case or stuff like that. The only thing that could happen would be that the developers make a rug pull which means a total loss of your funds. Does this mean i would personally invest into a meme-coin? No, it doesn't but if you are into meme-coins then i would say that shiba-inu is probably one of the safer projects to put your money into, but there are definitely better projects out there to put your 170 bucks into.
2544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 10, 2021, 02:31:44 PM
Messi is almost in and it is funny to see him playing with Ramos indeed Tongue

It is definitely and right now lot of supporters are waiting outside Paris airport. Reports are that there he will arrive in 30-40 minutes but yeah things are now all confirmed. Just matter of official confirmations and that's it. But wow, never thought out of all Messi would be playing alongside Ramos lol. Right now I am waiting for pic or video of Ramos and Messi shaking hands more than Messi arriving at Paris.  Cheesy
Tick Tock time is passing. There is no way to wait any longer for this huge meeting. This is gonna be so beautiful, from rivals to team mates. Ramos is going to shake hands with Messi. Is this meeting going to be more attractive than signing the contract? Let's wait and see how everything turns out.

I'm not sure what to make of these transfers from PSG. It's quite clear that Ramos and Messi are absolute world class players who have dominated football for the last 15 years. But now they are both well over 30 (Ramos 35 and Messi 34) and have passed their peak. This is also the reason why the English clubs, who could afford the salaries because of the high TV revenues, have never really considered signing Ramos and Messi. It seems that PSG is not interested in having the strongest and most homogeneous team possible, but in getting into the media with big, prestigious names, even if these big names only come to earn a lot of money.

2545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: altcoins on: August 10, 2021, 02:24:56 PM
i am new in crypto world and i don't have much information about altcoins and gem hidden coins can any one tell me the difference between altcoins and gem coins and how can i find the real coin for investment?

Altcoins are all crypto-coins and tokens that are not bitcoin. So every cryptoproject that is not bitcoins is considered an altcoin. That definition exists since years and will probably stay for a long time or even forever even though i think it is not suitable anymore as more money is in altcoins now than in bitcoin.
There is no definition for Gem coins or hidden gems because that is a very subjective rating that everyone makes for himself. So if you read on this forum about the "next hidden gem coin that will definitely make x100" then you should be very careful because it is most likely just a shilling post from someone that wants to dump his coins on you.
2546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Man lost £20,000 in one night after becoming addicted to online gambling! on: August 10, 2021, 09:03:21 AM

To be objective, this amount is not critical for developed countries. In fact, this is income for 5-6 months (I can be wrong, but not much). Therefore, I would agree with the statement that it is just money. They can be earned again. And by the way, everyone who, for example, did not buy Bitcoin or Ethereum cheaply has potentially lost much more  Grin Cry

I disagree here. I just googled and according to the internet the average wage for the UK was 29.000 pounds back in 2018 and that was before taxes! So this should be probably around 20k pounds after taxes. So this loss was basically exactly worth one year of wages after taxes for the average british worker. So if we assume that most people also have to pay rent or have to pay back a loan for their house or flat that they own than i would say, it is pretty hard for the average guy to put aside 20k pounds if you have that many running costs each and every months. So i would say that for the average person even in first world countries it is definitely critical to lose 20k pounds in one night. Maybe not in a way that your life is over and you have to sell everything you own but in a way that you need a few years at least to recover from that.
2547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you have patience to count from 1 to 100? on: August 10, 2021, 08:54:38 AM
Now there are three questions in America. 1. The sluggish economy 2. High inflation 3. The outbreak of the epidemic.
Dow plunges nearly 900 points on July 19 2021.Bitcoin drops back below $30,000 yesterday.
All are disappointing signs. Many investors plan to sell Bitcoin. Most people lose patienceIn for cryptocurrency.
But In long-term trading, in addition to knowledge, patience is more important than any other factor. How do u think of it?

I also think that patience is one of the most important factors when you invest into a sector that is still in it's very early stages and i think the whole cryptospace is still in that stage if you compare it to other financial sectors or products. The real adoption of crypto products is still only starting and i think that, if no major unforeseen upsets are happening, that the whole crypto market will have a way higher marketcap as it has right now or as it had back in the beginning of may this year. I would also rate myself as a very patient guy in terms of my investments. I know that this is not always the best because if you look at the market movements in the last years i could probably have 10x more IOTA now for example if i had sold and bought them again at the right moments, but knowing myself i would probably have less than i have now.  Smiley
2548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are NFT games also another way to gamble your money? on: August 09, 2021, 09:16:15 AM
Right now there are huge lists of them where you have a choice on whether you buy tokens on their early pre-sales or invest in the game hoping that you will get your ROI as fast as possible but there is no assurance about it. Is this gamble its true sense it has just some part where you need to take the risk but not that low odds where you can get your capital back?

Just like this one - Where the Initial investment is 10$ but if you are lucky enough you can get it after 15 days or a month of continue playing. Of course, you will have an option to further invest in the game where you accelerate the return of your capital but more risk and you need to spend additional money for it.

Splinterlands

Number two is somewhat risky where right now you need to have 4 characters and a weapon to start to play the game which is approximately $100 to start to play and the risk right now is quite high because the price of their token is falling from $120+ to $32+ where lots of people are complaining because they bought their characters and weapons when the price was high. With the current price, their investment capital will return after 5-6 months of continue playing or less than that if the price will recover but no assurance.

Number Three is the NFT game called MyDefipet where in most cases people invested where the price was quite high and the game hasn't started their play to earn mode yet. This last one is the riskiest of them all since there was no way for you to get your capital back if you already bought their NFTs inside the game. all you have to do is wait and somehow trust their developer's statements.

These are just a few lists of the NFT games that I know, I just wanted to know if this kinda makes sense to invest in this game whereas you can see, people who invested late are now suffering and
can't stop thinking if they get back their investment.

I also looked into those play-to-earn games recently because i am a pc gamer myself and if there are good games out there where you can earn some money while you doing something that you enjoy then of course this would be an absolute dream scenario for me. Most of those "games" though are no real games as they don't really have much features yet and the features that they have are very simplistic. What you although need to consider is that you already have to invest a high amount of money only that you can start to play those games in most cases. Just take a look at axies infinity which is the biggest and most successful play-to-earn game. You need to own at minimum 3 axies just to be able to start playing the game. At the moment 1 axie costs at least 300$ whcih means you need to invest 900$ to start playing and of course you don't know if the prices drop or increase until you have bred your own axies that you can sell. So those games really are a gamble in my opinion, just like most other investments.
2549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the crypto hype over? on: August 09, 2021, 09:08:59 AM
For some reason, Elon Musk stopped tweeting about DOGE and even Bitcoin, making people lose interest in crypto these days. Add to this the China miner ban, and regulatory action against Binance exchange and you'll see why the market hasn't gone up that much within the last 2 months (approximately). Bitcoin is still struggling to reach a new ATH, while ETH doesn't get past $3k per coin.

Sometimes I wonder if the crypto hype is over. "De-Fi" and NFTs are still a big hit, but interest/demand seems to be slowly declining. I'm guessing the next Bitcoin halving will "revive" the hype. But there's no guarantee this will happen since crypto behaves in many strange and bizarre ways.

Do you think the crypto hype is over? If not, why? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

I think that Hype that is only created because some rich guy like Elon Musk is tweeting about a certain topic is not really something good and sustainable that will benefit a certain area in the long term, that is why i have never been a fan of those elon tweets. I rather prefer a slow but steady growth of the crypto space with ever increasing usability lower entry barriers and wider adoption. We maybe don't see 50% price increases over night like we did after the Doge Tweets of elon but i am sure the growth we get through adoption will be much more consistent and it won't disappear over night like with those exaggerated hype bubbles that are created to pump a coin just to dump a few days later.

Naturally, modern sport is a battle of pharmacology, but if you get caught then please follow the rules and do your best next time. But Russia, even being caught, denied everything and behaved inappropriately, therefore, was punished even more harshly.

I agree with you that of course if you get caught you should be smart enough to admit that you did something wrong and do everything that you can to ensure that you stop this kind of actions and also to prevent them from happening in the future.
You also say though that modern sport is a battle of pharmacology and i also agree with you here, but no official representative of any sport or nation would ever admit this and I think the majority of spectators are still not aware of it. However, the media and reporters are well aware of this and that's why it annoys me even more when the western media point out the Russian doping incident at almost every opportunity for the 500th time.
2551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What will happen to Binance? on: August 08, 2021, 06:18:41 PM

Is MtGox 2.0 incoming
https://youtu.be/HufsDhSm834

I don't really think that binance is planning a rugpull i mean they are making billions of profit every year with their exchange so why would they even need to do a rugpull. I don't say though that the tweets that are shown in the video are not true or that this did not happen but i also think that it is pretty normal that you will always find a handful or maybe even a few hundreds of users that had a bad experience or even experienced some kind of scams if you have millions of users, but this does not necessarily mean that the exchange itself is a scam. It could have just been 1 employee of binance that was doing shady things or just a simple mistake.
2552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 08, 2021, 09:38:29 AM

Because in Russia the state system of doping and deception of the regulatory authorities was revealed, in addition, Russia refused to admit this fact. This scandal has been going on for many years, haven't you heard about it?

It happened after all! The USA confidently took the first place in gold medals on the last day of the Olympiad. Given the huge advantage in silver and bronze medals, this can be called total domination.

It is true that doping was practised on a large scale in Russia and that it was probably even organised and supported by official bodies. So i guess the ban of the russian flag and the russian anthem was a understandable move and it was also correct, that russian athletes that were not involved in that doping system were given the chance to start at the olympics because in the end they trained their whole life for that.
That being said i am pretty sure, doping is going on in every country, (of course also in the US and the UK and so on that are always blaming russia and china) and if i would have to guess i would say that at least a third of all athletes in the track & field and swimming disciplines was doped. The big problem is that most of the stuff that is used for doping today can't even be detected yet, that's why the samples are collected and stored longterm so they can be tested again in a few years when new detection methods are available.
It is a fact, that we will never have 100% doping free sports.
2553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba inu on: August 08, 2021, 09:26:37 AM
is it a joke or what?
i personally dont think that its a real deal to go up with.
Rumors that shiba inu is like bitcoin yet i dont see many websites using it. is there any earn-money site paying in shiba inu?

It basically is a joke as it is a meme-coin. The guys that spread the rumours that it is the next bitcoin are most probably just holders of shiba inu themself that want to pump the price with fakes news so they can dump on you. That being said, even though it is just a meme-coin without a use-case that still doesn't mean that the price can't rise in the future or that websites will never accept it. Just take a look at dogecoin, it was basically the first meme-coin which was created back in 2013 and it is still in the top 10 in terms of marketcap. From all those meme-coins that came out within the last months i would say shiba-inu is probably the one that has the highest chance to still be around in a few years.

SundaeSwap soll die erste DEX auf Caradano werden. Das ISO wird bald mal komme. Ich denke, dass SundaeSwap abhotten wird.

https://www.sundaeswap.finance/

https://twitter.com/sundaeswap?lang=de

https://de.cointelegraph.com/press-releases/cardstarter-joins-sundaeswap-to-bootstrap-major-cardano-dex-launch

Finally India got a gold medal on javelin throw. The first medal in the track and field is taken today in the history of Olympics. The 23 year old Neeraj Chopra had made it for India. Now entire India will be in celebration mood, because its a gold for India. This wins will make more younger generation focus on athlete in a country where cricket is a big attraction.

Congratulations to india for their first gold medal and it was a completely unexpected one too, as the german Johannes Vetter was the huge favorite to win this competition because he was throwing over 90 meters pretty regularly in the contests before the olympic games and he is also m holding the record for the longest throw so far this season with 91,50 meters, but today he just couldn't deliver and did not even reach the stage of the last 8 athletes with a throw of only 82,52 meters which means a 9th place for him. Chopra took this big opportunity and managed to win this competition with a throw of "only" 87,58 meters. An unexpected win is probably the sweetest one , so congrats to him.

Men's Olympic Soccer Final Odds Comparison:

I'm sure this will be one of the match that many people look forward to at the Olympics I have placed a bet for this match, the odds between the two countries are not too much different, which means that even though Brazil are the favorites by the bookies, overall this match will be very exciting, maybe it will end in a penalty shootout.

In my opinion the Olympics are a stage for the type of sports that are not so much covered in the media in between the Olympics such as Shooting, wrestling and also swimming and track & field. But of course this match has definitely the potential to be one of the highlights of this Olympic Games,  especially for football fans that are not interested in other sports. When i look at this odds i would bet on a win of Spain. Maybe the brazilian team has sent players that are slightly better on a individual level but the spanish players are usually much better trained tactically even in their young age. A draw is also very much possible after 90 minutes as both teams will probably not risk that much.
2557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will governments prohibit developers from creating a new coin? on: August 07, 2021, 10:34:10 AM
As crypto/Blockchain tech becomes more popular, mainstream banks and governments will be forced to take action against this emerging industry to stop its growth worldwide. They don't want to people to use crypto on top of Fiat, so we'll be seeing new tactics from said entities in order to destroy crypto for good. One of those tactics could be either banning people from trading crypto at a centralized exchange or simply prosecuting developers of a cryptocurrency project. I believe the latter option is much easier and effective for governments to put an end to crypto for good. Before devs will be able to launch a new cryptocurrency, they're going to need governments' approval. Otherwise, they could face serious consequences in the long run.

Thoughts? Huh

I don't think that there is any way to stop devs from creating new crypto projects even if countries would try really hard to do that. I mean let's say a country would really ban crypto projects totally and would also forbid to develop crypto projects then developers in this country could still create a blockchain project and once it's finished launch it from another country via VPN or something. That is just the same that is already happening with some Websites that can't be accessed from certain country, just use a VPN and simulate that you are from another country and you can access the website. It could only be a problem if the devs get caught during the programming of the project.

PSG are seen as the closest team to be able to sign Lionel Messi now. But according to some other sources, there is a possibility for Messi to go to MLS also. And I hope that it is nothing more than a rumour and Messi doesn't want it. Otherwise, I would be really devastated. I've been waiting to see him at a different European club for a long time.

Well Lionel Messi is already 34 years old now so even though he is still definitely one of the best players in the world clubs really need to think twice if they really want to spend a huge amount of money for a player of that age. He will probably have 2 or at max 3 more good seasons before his performances will surely decrease. A couple of months ago the news came out that messi earned 555 million € between 2017 and 2021. That is more than 100 M € per year and that was also the main reason why FC Barcelona is now broke. So i can completely understand they did not prolong his contract at Barcelona if he still wanted to earn that amount of money.. no single player is worth that much.
2559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doge Coins? on: August 06, 2021, 03:00:52 PM

Dogecoin is not a joke but it was always meant to be a meme-coin for the community. It was created back in 2013 as a fork of litecoin. So it never had a big new idea or new functionality or stuff like that it was just launched as a likeable project that attracts a lot of people and is not meant to be so serious. Dogecoin is one of the oldest cryptocurrencies around, even older than for example Ethereum, and there are a lot of shops and casinos already that accept Dogecoins as payment. I don't know though If there are any website where you can earn dogecoin for free. Also i would recommend to stay away from the other meme-coins that came out in 2021 because most of them will be dead in a few months.
2560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Accumulating small odds or choosing one or two big odds on: August 06, 2021, 11:31:43 AM
Gambling is fun and we should take it for fun, people should not be addicted, they should play good and making it not necessary. I gambled over the weekend when I have time, it makes good sense to me, my budget is not more than 5% of my monthly income. This thread is focused on we that have fun while play bet, even if we lose, we are not sad, we are not affected negatively or depressed, but if we win, another money for beer has been received.

I will like people to comment on how they stake, strictly on football matches. Did you prefer to choose straight win? Did you like to choose correct score? Have you chosen correct score before and won it? Did you like playing 10 minutes over 1.5? The best accumulation you ever staked?

After all your experiences about gambling on football matches, which one has been coming with the best result? Is it accumulating small odds? Or betting on one or two big odds?

From a pure mathematical standpoint it shouldn't really matter if you choose and combine for example 5 or 6 small odds or if you choose 1 or 2 more unlikely odds, if the end result of the combined odd is the same or at least almost the same. That being said i have the feeling that a lot of small odds are still a little bit more dangerous to choose because no matter how big of a favourite you are you can always loose a match, for example in a football match where the favorite team has 10 big chances to score a goal but does not manage to do so and the opponent has one chance and scores, and if that happens your whole bet is lost. So i personally would not combine a lot of small odds. A handful at most.
