2541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Pushpool - Tech Support on: July 10, 2011, 08:32:29 AM
When compiling pushpool on ubuntu 11 I get a database.engine error message and then it quits compilation.

I have tried multiple database setups and I still get the same error. Any help please?

Thanks

Okay so I have the testing software that is stable besides the email authorization, Im having troubles with sendmail so I disabled email authorization(don't need anyways). But I pointed my 6990 and I'm getting over 700Mhash/s please donate your mhash/s I will be running this server until we find a block!!! all payouts will be disabled until everything is checked for correct payouts but everyone WILL GET PAYED after the check is done(takes alike a day)

2545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 0.01 transaction fee required for 0.38 BT transactoin? on: July 09, 2011, 07:28:31 AM
Ah see when you say it like that, that makes more sense to me.
But what if someone dosnt take paypal, isnt their a fee to transfer to your bank account?
And you surely must pay taxes?(dont have to answer that one Tongue)
Also i did not know about the checks being transaction free, i think i might start to use that then credit/debit cards. stupid overdafts fees the really shouldn't let anybody take out more then they have, is there and overdraft fee for checks where you bank at?

How large a transaction must one make not to have to pay the fee?

Mine is .0005 for a .001 which I find patently absurd.

So much for "we're trading free".

Who said anything about trading for free?
these fees are less costly then pay pal or the bank for that matter Cheesy

When I write a check that is free.

When I hand over cash that is free

When I do a paypal to paypal with two non business accounts that is free

RESOULT:
php.ini            "allow_url_fopen = On"

Bye!  Cool

Hmm welll your function.php error dosent make sense scince there is no Mysql quey on that line. I'm not saying your lying I just honestly don't know what it would be saying that.
as for the mtgox that error is predictable as I'm still trying to figure out how to make the mtgox bitcoin worth load properly. even tho it says an error the software should still be operational, my design behind this project is to have things still work even if something is broken.

I'm actually overhauling the entire software package at the moment, meaning I'm copying and pasting code by code and testing bit by bit. This should get every little error I have in my code. The estimated release date for the updated software I would say Monday it should be fully released and tested. Also the new HTML structure will be more cross browser compatible Cheesy

2548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Remote bitcoind connection problems on: July 09, 2011, 05:33:37 AM
If you haven't already, you need to whitelist external addresses, for example:
Code:
rpcallowip=192.168.1.100
This whitelists the IP 192.168.1.100. Note that you're also allowed to use wildcard characters.

(If you've done this already, sorry - you weren't too clear in the OP. If this isn't helpful, you need to post more details - Which options, in specific have you tried in bitcoin.conf? Have you configured the PHP libraries right? Are you doing this between computers on the same network or across the internet?)

Well, I've whitelisted the IPs in question, set server=1, everything else I can think of. But but but but but, what's this about PHP libraries? I uploaded phpRPCClient.php and Bitcoin.php and have been trying those.. Are you saying I actually have to install a system library too? Well, I didn't install any libraries. What do I need to do? "sudo apt-get php-json"?

Thanks for any advice.

this may sound wierd but I had the same problem I don't know exactly what fixed it becuase I double-triple-checked all the credentials but try commenting out server=1
It worked for me on top of 1000 other things I did, but really thats the only thing I could pin point it down too

I sent you a PM Smiley

Thanks mate for any help that you could assist me with, the support said that it just dosen't want to listen on the givin IP address, so far i got it to listen on the local ip address, but still dosn't want to allow connections from a remote server

Thank's for you work,
After a long time I was able to go around.
I only have a problem:
The graphics do not update the statistics. Even if my pool has miners statistics remain at zero.
Page Manage Work is present: 0 MHash/s · N/A% efficient
What can it be?
Thanks again ..

Well first I must ask you some mundane questions first before we pin it down to a programming issue, So first off I'll ask if you've set up all your cronjobs correctly this includes statsUpdater.php, along with blockUpdater.php, and blockFound.php
2551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Live CD experts on: July 08, 2011, 01:54:36 PM
i've created an offline wallet with Ubuntu Live CD and saved it to a usb stick.

will bringing that wallet back into the client with a block chain download in a seperate session of Live CD create any wallet fingerprints on the hard drive?
no but, I would recommend making another partition on that usb stick just for a reuseable harddrive to put that wallet.dat file
2552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin-php [Odd problem] on: July 08, 2011, 01:07:13 PM
Maybe php5 needs some packages I didn't install, like i said this worked on two different servesr with different versions of ubuntu just fine.... is there a XML RPC package i dont know about?
This is a fresh install of ubuntu so i wouldn't doubt it
2553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: reformatted computer now btc are lost on: July 08, 2011, 12:45:01 PM
Even if you've formatted your drive, if you are running Windows, PC Inspected File Recovery (http://www.pcinspector.de/default.htm?language=1) will often be able to recover files... it's a bit buggy, but it generally does the job.

Yes I agree with this guy(or girl?) try file recovery it takes for everrr... to look trhough all the found file, but you never know you might find it Cheesy
2554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Starting a new pool - Help on: July 08, 2011, 12:41:53 PM
Yeah d3c0n808 is correct!

You must download, config bitcoind (Which can be found on bitcoin.org)
Then you must download, install Pushpool (for managing miners/connections)
If you want a front end you can pick one of the follow that d3c0n808 stated but naturally I'd recommend Mining Farm scince it's made by me. Anyways I have published a bunch of resources for doing this kind of things that can be found in my sig but here are the resource links:

Pushpool - Download, Installing, configure instructions for Ubuntu systems: http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=10321.0
Mining Farm - Download, Installing, configure instructions for any self-managed VPS: http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=10617.0

bitcoin is the easy part so there really isn't a install instructions for it.

If you have any troubles you can PM me fore help and throw me a couple of bitcoins my when upon completion of the job Cheesy
I only install on Ubuntu servers
2555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin-php [Odd problem] on: July 08, 2011, 12:36:58 PM
Yeah I'm starting to lose sleep over this, I got it succesfully working on my local computer, and my ex-vps(is that a word?) and on my new vps it is supposed to be Anti-DDoS so maybe they are blocking the port who knows
So I have a wierd error my code is this
Code:
	$bitcoinController = new BitcoinClient($rpcType, $rpcUsername, $rpcPassword, $rpcHost, 8332);

This part works and when it print_r($bitcoinController);
I see that it outputs and array like this
Quote
BitcoinClient Object ( [no_multicall] => 1 [return_type] => jsonrpcvals [path] => / [server] => 316.28.27.298 [port] => 8332 [method] => http [errno] => [errstr] => [debug] => 0 [username] => xxxxx [password] => xxxxx [authtype] => 1 [cert] => [certpass] => [cacert] => [cacertdir] => [key] => [keypass] => [verifypeer] => 1 [verifyhost] => 0 [proxy] => [proxyport] => 0 [proxy_user] => [proxy_pass] => [proxy_authtype] => 1 [cookies] => Array ( ) [extracurlopts] => Array ( ) [accepted_compression] => Array (
  • => gzip [1] => deflate ) [request_compression] => [xmlrpc_curl_handle] => [keepalive] => 1 [accepted_charset_encodings] => Array (
  • => UTF-8 [1] => ISO-8859-1 [2] => US-ASCII ) [request_charset_encoding] => [user_agent] => XML-RPC for PHP 3.0.0.beta )
The above array looks like it is either connecting successfully, or it just reads the config to get all the info and stops(Can someone clear this up that the array means its connecting, scince isn't bitcoin-php is supposed to fail on bad connection?)

anyways, when it try{}catch{} it and try to output the exception i get no errors the script just skips over it basically.

I can't even do a simple $bitcoinController->getDifficulty(); after connecting it just dosn't out put anything
I have php errors set to E_ERROR | E_WARNING | E_PARSE | E_NOTICE just so I can pick up on anything... what is wrong?
316.28.27.298 does not look like a valid IP to me.

It sure isn't my server isn't secure enough yet for me to realease it. But I did copy and paste it into the config files and they do match correctly. I can connecto through pushpool and start mining just fine. Its just that through php (maybe user permissions?) it dosn't want to connect to it. I also tried setting up a cross server mysql for remote server and that worked just fine with out opening an ports. So in other words I was able to connect from my webhosting->to VPS database succesfully but the bitcoin server wasn't connecting, so I tried doing this locally instead of a remote server and the local server reports no errors yet when I tried connected remotly it said BitcoinClient
  • Error Conneciton(111) excpetion,etc, etc, blah, blah.

I know its got to be a simple problem, I can taste it.
Ahhh... I thought you may have typoed on the IP (start with a 3 instead of a 2) or something. Anyhow, I don't have any experience with this kind of thing yet.. so I'm not sure what the problem is. Have you double checked all other configuration options?
Where is your current VPS hosted? The one with the DDoS protection (in terms of datacenter, not specifically hosting company)?

Not sure if i understood your question but it is located in chicago. Im pretty sure you were asking for somthing else, I just can't figure whatchu mean tho.

For update: I can succesfully run $bitcoinController->can_connect(); and echo it. when i do it results with this outout
Quote
Connect error: Connection refused (111)

So thats a step forward in progress, apperently it dosen't want to connect.

2559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Pushpool - Tech Support on: July 08, 2011, 12:09:27 PM
If you are not doing anything with the .log files from mining farm and it has been used by a few pools now in actual production, I would assume that pushpool deals with them directly otherwise people's servers would probably be getting overloaded with them by now, or soon.

But why then would jgarzik mention how to "re-open the logs (such as after rotation or deletion)." if pushpool dealt with them directly?!

You must rotate/trim the logs yourself.

The logrotate package can help you with that.

To gigabytecoin, Miningfarm dosn't use log files becuase of the extra steps it would take to parse them. It does a series of checks and balances

Thanks jgarzik for that insight full info btw
