why would i be on there?
i do my transactions here on this forum.
To be honest, that otc rating system is too complicated for 99.99% of the people.

If you want a good reputation, it would be best to take the time to figure out pgp and get a rating on the OTC IMHO.

I think the answer is simple enough. If you think it's too good to be true, go somewhere else to lend your bitcoins.

The only reason you have made this post is because you want to give in to your greed and lend him money if it opens up again.

2545  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Best way to manage multiple rigs. Mgt program, miner, fallback, etc. on: January 13, 2012, 11:54:39 AM
mgpumon does not allow for monitoring of miners outside of the subnet.

I wonder how hard it would be to modify it.

BAMT does support sending mgpumon info to a direct ip address. Please read the docs over at github.

For those that run large scale mining opeations what kind of setup do you use to make sure your miners are always on, and with minimal support needed if pool went offline? Right now, I am leaning towards WIn7 for my rigs.

Use BAMT. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28967.0

I am having a hard time finding a mining software that works under Win7 with fail-over support.
GuiMiner is popular, but it doesn't have fail-over support for phoenix miners. I like phoenix miner with phatk2 kernel.

BAMT has failover support and uses phoenix 1.6.2 with the phatk2 kernel.

Diablo miner has fail-over support, but I am getting a bit lower hash rate than phoenix with phatk2.
Also still trying to figure out how to assign each GPU a different username, so I can track each GPU on the web separately.

BAMT has monitoring tools like mgpumon and gpumon so you do not have to worry about having seperate workers for each video card.

What are your solutions in Linux and Win7?

The best solutions is BAMT. Use it and donate to the creator.

I run over 30Gh and have no issues with this system.
2548  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [409 GH] ABCPool PPS - you should join now! <0.1% invalids & immediate payouts! on: January 12, 2012, 05:12:25 PM
Assuming they're not doing anything underhanded (which I don't think they are, since, well, I get paid what I expect), the "allure" of "seeing the blocks you've found" is simply that: something to look at and "brag" about.

Kinda cool? Sure. What *MOST* people in a pure PPS pool are looking for? I sort of doubt it.

I think my key point is more about transparency then fun charts and graphs to look at. While abcpool.co is fairly stable, their lack of details regarding the pool doesn't inspire confidence. Nor does their new marketing strategy around their fees.

When this campaign is over and I'm not so busy, I really want to make it out to one of these.

Take a break and come on out! All work and no play?

LOL. Same old story. 4-6 weeks since October last year ...

Who is saying 4 - 6 weeks?  No one but the same old tired trolls.

With the performance and efficiency of the 7970s I don't think many are going to be jumping onto the BFL fail train.
With the GPUs you can mine and game and crack encryption but these BFL units have close to 0 resale value and you cannot game or hack with them.

Completely irrelevant.  ~200w + supporting hardware for ~650 MH/s is not anywhere close to 60 - 80w @ 800 - 1 GH/s.  You only need one or two cards to game with, the rest are completely superfluous and just power hogs.  99% of the people mining do not, will not and probably don't even know how to or why they would want to crack encryption with them.

Quote
Add to that the fact that if a competing ASIC is designed you pretty much are screwed as they become paperweights and you won't get anyone to take them off your hands.

Completely false dichotomy.  Just because a new or more efficient ASIC miner is released does not somehow cause an older miner to suddenly stop functioning or generating income.  If someone else were to release a 1.2 GH/s unit for roughly the same price as the BFL unit a month later, do the BFL units suddenly stop producing 800 MH/s?  No... they continue to mine.

I do, however, agree that a 6 month warranty is a little shallow.  A 1 yr warranty would seem to be the right thing to me.  But the argument that if it's going to fail it will fail within 6 months is fairly sound as far as these things go, but that is a doubled edged sword.  If it's likely to not fail at 6 - 12 months assuming it lasted 0 - 6 months, then increasing the warranty shouldn't increase the support burden all that much.

Thanks for being the voice of reason.

I will personally buy a beer for every new person using bitcoins on my phone, to show them how it works!

I'll be there at 7pm for dollar burgers and beer.

Tony is away at CES but we can still buy beers with bitcoin!

I have personally done this and am satisfied with their answers.

gigavps,

can you say us when they are gonna ship your unit(s) ?

best regards.

It is not my place to speak for BFL.

I am NOT their spokesman.

I just do not appreciate the FUD coming from others and am trying to let them know how to get the information if they are waiting on an order.

I have 3 extra sitting in my DC i'll let go if anyone is interested. They are great for running 5x5870 with extenders. My 5x5870 rig is doing 2175Mh/s.

i have a feeling this wont be shipped until early Feb..
 Undecided

In other words, you mean in '4-6 weeks'. This is becoming the 'but can it play crysis?' tagline of this thread!

My bet is that shipments will begin on the 23rd of this month. People who have preorders will be first; people who have ordered in late November or December may not make it into this first production run.

I am absolutely 100% sure that if you have an order in with BFL and email then regarding your order, they should be able to tell you what you need to know. They are very responsive.

I have personally done this and am satisfied with their answers.

Is there a way to view the block history?
Hi Stoppots,
Every member of ABCPool is paid per share. The share price is determined by a formula based on the theoretical expected number of blocks to be found. That reward is independent of when or how much blocks are actually found. As such we do not list the block history, sorry!

It is a little weird that you do not list the blocks found by your pool.

I guess you could be pool hopping with the hashes and no one would know. I would hope this is not the case.

Why exactly do you do this. btcguild.com is also a straight PPS pool but they should the blocks they have found.

Do you not want your miners to be able to figure out your actual income?
