2541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too late for joining Bitcoin, which altcoin is best? on: February 06, 2014, 02:55:12 AM
MaxCoin? DogeCoin? NameCoin? LiteCoin? NovaCoin? FeatherCoin? PeerCoin? Some other coin?

That kind of psychology is going to lose you money. the price is high for a good reason, because the prospects for bitcoin are much clearer than other alt coins. the network effect will leave the alts in the dust.
you must have bitcoin if you invest into crypto currencies - but maybe wait a while first.
I also have some litecoin to be diverse. litecoin is one of the most capitalised beside bitcoin and is likely to replace it if something were to happen to the bitcoin system (not likely)
2542  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC = $500 in February on: February 06, 2014, 02:46:22 AM

It went up so fast that it created a yellow candle on the chart.   Yellow candles are even better than green ones Smiley.  $5000/btc confirmed

I think in any case an exponential log chart illustrates the end of the world  Shocked
2543  Economy / Speculation / Re: I want to invest everything I have in bitcoin this year ($12,300). 2014 specs? on: February 06, 2014, 01:26:00 AM
tomorrow you will have nothing.

Check the price.
yes, buy some tomorrow Wink
2544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Predict the first trade price of Maxcoin on: February 06, 2014, 12:03:18 AM
Max Declared on twitter that he would be selling his coins when the man on the street was talking about it.
so his coin really is a ponzi....
I doubt it will get that far.....
the smart money will not flow to maxcoin.
2545  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin history repeating itself on: February 05, 2014, 11:55:16 PM
Here is my elliot wave analysis.

It's really not an obvious E-wave analysis. also, think, after wave 5 up to 5k, will it come back don to the 4th wave? 100-250? I doubt it. I think 500-700 BTC are likely in the near future but after that, the fundamentals will have to catch up, and will that happen? I dont know.
2546  Economy / Speculation / Re: I want to invest everything I have in bitcoin this year ($12,300). 2014 specs? on: February 05, 2014, 10:02:14 PM
If you plan on hodling at least 5 years, invest and move on with your life.

Bitcoin is not something you can just keep without checking the news on it at least weekly. It would be idiotic to buy bitcoin and not keep up with its developments, especially with all the regulators across the world looking into it right now.

also importantly, one needs to keep up with the technology, lest a significantly better coin is developed.
2547  Other / Politics & Society / Argentine Banking system burnt - financial records destroyed on: February 05, 2014, 09:53:37 PM
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-02-05/argentine-banking-system-archives-destroyed-deadly-fire

This is really interesting to read. Obviously they had a lot of documents they didnt really want.

This will drive technology for better banking systems - Bitcoin would not have failed in this situation, the age of paper is over.

The times are pretty exciting......
2548  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to dump BTC now I say... on: February 05, 2014, 02:52:13 AM
I was always bearish mate...MACD never turned positive if you look at the chart which I have posted at the beginning and now...

Always?? You must've lost an ass-load on money by now.

Either you've been wrong for years in which case I shouldn't listen to you or you haven't been around long, in which case I shouldn't listen to you. Which is it, Mate?

I am the original poster of this thread. Take a look at the chart which I posted at the start of the thread. Since then BTC has gone jack is what I meant to say...

No one is asking you to listen to me...hold on to your precious as you see fit...

If Bitcoin isn't doing jack, then it's doing exactly what it's supposed to do. It was designed as a medium of exchange. it's more useful when it's stable. If it's more useful, it becomes more valuable. if it's more valuable, it becomes more expensive. Then the price rises again until we take some profits and make it useful again. Haven't heard you say anything substantively or qualitatively different than any other bear for the last three years. If yer gonna be wrong, at least be original.

I am just saying that as per the chart its heading down...and if you know the charts then that's cool, but there are a lot of people who don't so no harm in letting them learn.

I am not in any way saying that BTC is all dead and over or some doomsday has arrived. And yes its certainly good news if it is more stable but volume is too low to make a call on that as of yet.

There were people wanting me to post when its time buy and now is not the time yet.

None of that justifies 'dump now while you still can'......
in fact thats a great contrary indicator when the market is going down....
2549  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are there any other Optimistic Bears? on: February 05, 2014, 02:05:10 AM
um, no we haven't. Check the wall observer thread and you will discover I was talking about that just yesterday. This is not 2011. We have a massive infrastructure no that we didn't have then. And It was a huge over correction. Don't think people like me are just going to hodl this time. Fuck no, we're buying more, and at higher prices than the one's you are waiting for. Do you have any idea how many of you assholes are waiting around for cheap coins? Too many to let it happen. Hell, I'm gonna start buying at $780 and front run your asses, me and a few whale friends. You're dreaming if you think it's ever go below $400, even with disasters like a pan EU ban or Mt Gox going under.

There are literally BILLIONS on the sidelines. Sooner or later, a critical mass of people are gonna get sick of this sideways movement and say "fuck it, I'm buying now." Happened twice already.

and how many of us assholes are going to want to jump into Bitcoin if it were to crash through support after support? Back in early December I would have bitten someone's hands of had they offered me $800 BTC. But now that I can buy as many $800 as I liked, I am not interested.

Bitcoins are vapour and their value is only what people imagine it to be, and perhaps the mechanisms that define our imagination of Bitcoin's value have been wildly overstretched. In fact, I fkn know for sure that they have. The question is to what extent can those 'whales' whose interests it is to enforce a period of stability in Bitcoin in its presently wildly overstretched state, succeed in the face of the organic and perhaps some not so organic forces that want to push Bitcoin back down?

The price is not in line with the fundemenals.... yeah it's over stretched.
does that mean then that the price must align with fundamentals? not for many years it doesnt.
The wise speculators are not gonna sell at this point, $800 is just too cheap and they know it. Nobody has to force it....
They aren't gonna scalp either, cos they will likely not get their coins back.
A lot of pressure has already been released when it went down to 500....
Im gonna get ready to buy if a little slide comes, but I'm not expecting it.
2550  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to dump BTC now I say... on: February 05, 2014, 01:37:21 AM
Bail out while you still can....

FUD
2551  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are there any other Optimistic Bears? on: February 05, 2014, 01:04:02 AM
I think most perma bulls fall under this category.
I think it could easily correct to 400. maybe lower. I also believe that it doesn't have to.
I am a hodling bull.
2552  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bicoin ATM planned for Auckland. on: February 04, 2014, 07:56:13 PM
if people on the street are buying, doesnt that mean price is going to drop?

More people buying means more demand, usually leading to a price rise.
____

Any idea who makes the ATMs they're buying? Imported?

edit:

Do you know what kind of identity verification they use? The Robocoin (Vancouver) uses palmprints, while the BTM (Toronto) uses cellphone verification.

Im refering to sentiment. that historically when the mainstream invests the asset must be close to the top.

Sorry, dont know who makes them or how they will work.
2553  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin reach $10,000 one day ? on: February 04, 2014, 11:34:32 AM
Who believe BTC will reach 10,000 dollars ?

Yes. But the more important question is what could you buy with $10000 when the time comes?

A loaf of bread?

Id be glad for the loaf of bread, cos I wouldn't have the 10k otherwise.
2554  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your answer to "Bitcoin is a Ponzi Scheme" ? on: February 04, 2014, 11:24:06 AM

does this mean......... Bitcoin is gonna go up forever??!
2555  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your answer to "Bitcoin is a Ponzi Scheme" ? on: February 04, 2014, 11:10:35 AM
Lol at the ignorant kids on this forum. Please rename the domain to highschoolbitcoincirclejerk.com,
you're not gonna make friends with anybody talking like that.
if you got nothing to say just say nothing.
2556  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: February 04, 2014, 10:59:13 AM
The average millionaire has 3 Million dollars approximately. there are 12 million millionaires in the world.
=> 12,000,000,000x3,000,000=36,000,000,000,000

there are 1500 billionaires, worth a net of 5.4 trillion.

Here we have around 41 trillion dollars in the hands of investors.

If each of these investors put 1% Bitcoin into their portfolio, the market cap of bitcoin would be 400 billion.

and that doesn't yet fairly represent commercial demand.....
2557  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 04, 2014, 10:33:43 AM
got to test the lows before the choo choo

And how do you expect that choo choo to happen? Based on what?
It's clear nobody is just gonna buy. People are way too afraid at these prices. We've had some huge companies accept Bitcoin. It made the price drop. Or well not directly but it suddenly didn't make it go up. That and then also the slightest hint of negative news and people completely shit their pants and sell. As much as i want the train to leave again i don't see how it will happen. I have the feeling a lot of people think we reached the top and want to get out.

There are 1500 billionaires and 12 million millionaires on this planet.

FACT.

I thought that was pretty interesting. hope y'all do too.

just saying, but the minimum amount of money we are looking at here is $1,500,000,000,000 + $12,000,000,000,000.
I'm sure there must be at least double that accounted for by multi millionaires and multi billionaires.
If these people had just 1% of their money hedged in cryptos, the market cap would probably be between $150,000,000,000 and $300,000,000,000 easily.

2559  Economy / Speculation / Bicoin ATM planned for Auckland. on: February 04, 2014, 09:28:09 AM
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=11196633

This is exciting for me as I live in Auckland.
Publicity for Bitcoin in New Zealand has been very underwhelming.
This comes with the same news of 100 ATMs in ozzie.

I wonder if a whole bunch of bitcin ATMs on the street is really bullish short term...... if people on the street are buying, doesnt that mean price is going to drop?

2560  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin reach $10,000 one day ? on: February 04, 2014, 07:54:40 AM
No. Never. The value of Bitcoin will reach 3,000 max in the next 3 years. Then the value will dissipate into alt coins that are faster and don't require a unit such as 0.0001 for a cup of coffee.

true. Because of that gold is worth nothing, because how much is one cup of coffee in kg of gold?

the software will change...... it will be 4000satoshis for a cup of coffee...... in time perhaps 400satoshis..... and maybe 40 satoshis.

you know that I was ironic, right?

yeah Wink should have replied to the original thread.
