2541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Bitcoin was a worst decision of my life on: October 12, 2015, 08:55:21 AM
Considering I've been intelligent and bought and will continue to stash up coins at the lows no I don't consider it the worst decision of my life, the problem is so many idiots went and bought into the rise without first waiting to see what would happen and if it would stabalise.

Now all your profits are belong to me Smiley

additional problems are:

+ they dont understand it
+ they dont have patience
+ they dont want to learn
+ they think it is a get rich quick scheme

these people can buy anything and will always lose.
Absolutely. when people do not have faith nor patience will speak like worst decision on bitcoin investment. More over people would find the price fall with any share or bond. We need to understand what is bitcoin and what are it's possibilities when we adopt earlier.
2542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use cases. What do you actually use Bitcoin for? on: October 11, 2015, 06:33:09 PM
My case of use of bitcoin would be an investment. I just need to follow the inventor of bitcoin, he anticipated and kept his bitcoin as investment after some 90% of total bitcoins mined out I will use my bitcoin as money.

That is not investment, investment is when you cashout later.

In your case, you did a wealth conversion, and a paradigm shift, thats what you did.

Investor would be buying at 20$ and selling at 5000$ later on, you dont sell so you are not.

An investment can go beyond generations. Buying at 20$ selling at $5000 is a trading. The difference between a trader and investor is only time. A long term/time trader is an investor. If you convert your efforts or salary into bitcoin and keep on saving bitcoin as an investment, you are an investor.

No, that is not true.

Its not the time legtht the difference, but the purpose.

A trader goes for speculation/arbitrage/market manipulation, to make money.

An investor goes for value and future expected value.

The time length doesn't matter. But you cashout eventually from both.

Again confusing. Both trader and investor are doing their job for making money. So, there will not be any difference among them. I'm not expert in this subject. I have bolded the similarity I can see between a trader and an investor. Both trader and investor are important for a commodity to get price appreciations.

Here is the wiki definition for a trader and investor.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trader_(finance)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Investor
I will say myself an investor even I trade bitcoin for altcoin. But the reason of believing  bitcoin I save my efforts in the form of bitcoin.
2543  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: October 11, 2015, 06:28:26 PM
Bitcoin or gold? Smiley

Very easy option. I will choose bitcoin "for now".

I see the future of BTC in next years will come in a good shape.

Gold is always good for long term investment and bitcoin is always good for short term investments. You can decide based on your needs.

You forget bitcoin is the new digital gold. In my view both bitcoin and gold are good in long term investment. I prefer both as I diversify my investment across many different investment sectors for a risk controlled returns. As of now, bitcoin is better investment than gold.
2544  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good long term investment to buy 1 BTC today? on: October 11, 2015, 06:24:30 PM
Buying bitcoin is good thing in my view. If you are ready to buy bitcoin means do not delay, act fast. Even price go down you can make another purchase there to get a better average price. Buying bitcoin will help yourself as well as the bitcoin community. A long term investment will make bitcoin into moon.
2545  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin ? on: October 11, 2015, 05:22:20 PM
I can't believe this thread is 70+ pages long.  Basically you are stuck in the 18th century if you think girls are not able to use computers.  There are a lot of girls who are more intelligent, and are able to use computers better than probably everyone here.  Trust me, Girls use bitcoin.

Even girls use computers, they are not ready to accept a new thing which would ask them an investment eith in form of money or effort. Girls would prefer to convert bitcoin if they get any whereas men would love to save it for a price rise. This is the basic reason for girls lagging in accepting bitcoin.

Yes girls are more conscious about present finance situations so they do not want to risk their present money nor effort to be a testing phased bitcoin, whereas men like to risk. Girls will use bitcoin when it get more success whereas men would be the reason for success of bitcoin by taking risk to buy and saving it.
2546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Discussions about digital currencies in some countries. What future for bitcoin? on: October 11, 2015, 05:11:14 PM
Cryptocurrency created by government is bullshit, it'll be centralized & not anonymous, people can't see it's blockchain or mine it Roll Eyes
They can't control bitcoin, so they trying to make something similar & better to compete against bitcoin

Bitcoin is accepted everywhere, but government's fiat & cryptocurrency aren't
I'm sure government's cryptocurrency will fail

This is true, the governments try to make some centralized cryptocurrency to control it and don't allow people to see the transaction details and so on, Bitcoin system don't allow them doing this, so they try to replace it with their own cryptocurrencies, but i also think this projects will fail because people love bitcoin as it's decentralized currency and offer the financial freedom for everyone

If a government  make a new crypto-currency that would fail like how cloned alt coins have failed. Other than digitizing, no ther than meaning for a country specific crypto-currency. Bitcoin is like gold will act as a medium across fiats as well as if there is any government's new crypto-currency.
2547  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Australia Says Bitcoin is Money – Japan says Bitcoin can’t be owned on: October 11, 2015, 04:12:55 PM
It doesn't really matter what these countries think of bitcoins as long as Us(bitcoiners) solely believe in bitcoin..Bitcoin is controlled by us and decentralized that's what makes it unique..Everyone has different opinions but i would say bitcoin is everything--investment,commodity and ofcource currency  Wink

Exactly. Nothing to do what a government thinks about a bitcoin.
Some government will not bother about bitcoin until bitcoin get a attractive price. People look for government as long as we expect to convert bitcoin into fiat, but we head to a future where there is no need of converting bitcoin into fiat. Just use bitcoin as your fiat.
2548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Website to verify bitcoin signatures anno 2015? on: October 11, 2015, 04:08:31 PM
Verify bitcoin signatures use to be very simple:

http://brainwallet.org/#verify

I have just learned that this service is permanently closed  Sad
Does anybody know of a good alternative?

Most bitcoin wallet can do this... but I am looking for an online service where you do not need to log in.

Use desktop wallet is easy way and secure way for verify, even you can sign message.

Well if you lazy to use desktop wallet to verify, i found a new site: https://mircoin.com/

That site looks very much promising.
But I wanted myself must be relying on my own desktop wallets rather than any online services.
What about old brain wallet users. If anyone who used a bitcoin address generated from there, and kept only address and no private key. Now the service is permanently closed how he will move out his bitcoins.
2549  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: October 11, 2015, 03:54:47 PM
Well im still a teenager so i don't really work at full time job  Tongue
But i would definitely accept payment with btc once i have a full time job in the future Grin
for now im gonna stick with signature campaign  Roll Eyes

A teenager may not have any family commitments for earning with a monthly requirements. But a middle aged man has many responsibility to make over as well as to follow. So, Making bitcoin as a full time is not currently a viable job considering all the available earning options.

Several people on this thread say they are living comfortable doing nothing but Bitcoin.  If you read any of the posts on here you could probably find some examples of this, but it is possible even with a family.  I for one don't do it but you can't say it is not viable.

I prime factor for my position on able to live based on bitcoin is I'm not ready to spend bitcoin for my daily or monthly expenses. Currently I consider bitcoins as a investment. Because this is not right time for spending bitcoin. You can expect 10 times or 100 times growth of your bitcoin prices. I strongly believe on that.
2550  Economy / Economics / Re: The $1 Million Dollar Bitcoin on: October 11, 2015, 03:50:47 PM
For 1 Bitcoin to be worth $1,000,000, the total market cap of Bitcoin would have to be $21 trillion dollars. What are the odds of this happening?

For reference, the amount of physical $dollars and coins in circulation are around $1.2 trillion. The global M2 money supply of all currencies are around $45 trillion. The market cap of all mined gold is around $7 trillion.

Will 1 Bitcoin be worth a million dollars? Half a million? Thoughts?

Highly possible. Market cap is nothing to do with a price of one commodity, other than just as a comparison tool across commodities.
Forget government approval or collapse of a major country or currency or a giant business accepts bitcoin.
Imagine some $3 billion fresh investment comes into bitcoin, first people sell on higher prices but later even miners also will hold their bitcoin for higher prices. Then people will ready to buy only one satoshi for $100 also. A long term new investment is alone needed to break any market cap.

2552  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN going up or down on: October 11, 2015, 03:06:38 PM
Bitcoin will go up over time but because of the sharp fall it had a year ago I think it will take a while before we head upwards past 1k usd again, although I do hope it happens within the next two years or so, would help everyone holding bitcoin a lot!

When more people know and use bitcoin, step by step the value of bitcoin will increase and more stable than nowadays.

Its better to make real contribute to BTC by using it at daily life than just "chat".

Yes bitcoin is almost stable on it's price since last January. It's price struct between $200 to $300 price range. A sustaining prices would be more positive symptom for a upper side movement. So, in my way of predictions bitcoin is ready to go upward to pass it's previous high prices.
2553  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to make a living online? on: October 11, 2015, 03:03:53 PM
The best money to make online is internet marketing, mlm, affiliate sales, and if you are a good blogger, form your blog but all this takes time and a big learning curve. I make around 50-80 bucks a day through referral commissions through various sites and use the money to grow my digital currency..so I would say Internet marketing is great and I am just a beginner. There are tons of peeps on the net making huge bank and I wish I can become good at this to earn like they do.. Smiley Smiley

What sites do you use, how long has it taken to earn this? How do you attract users?

You're attracted dude.! Cheesy

50-80 bucks a day is very good income. Best wishes for you.

Keep increase your assets colomn.

Yes at least 50 dollars are very big earning for a day for myself. I still struggling to make a $20 per day. Even till now I'm not successful for my target. It would be extremely useful if you share the way of income generating. I keenly looking for new methods to make more money on daily basis. I can work up to 12 hours per day.
2554  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: October 11, 2015, 02:56:25 PM
not only bitcoinm , and not only gold, i would advise to spread the investments. For now i'm 60%btc and 40% gold, i think a gold pump is near

I agree that a gold pump is imminent Smiley

Diversifying investments are always a good idea. Not only these two but you can find some other investments also like share market and real estate.

As per old say we need to put our eggs on multiple baskets. So we must need both bitcoin as well as gold. But in my view these two also not enough if we think of diversifying our investments with risk management. So we need bonds, shares and bank deposits too.
2555  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me your predictions about Bitcoin on: October 11, 2015, 02:48:00 PM
I think sooner or later government find a way to control Bitcoin and It become more stable and predictable. I also believe that Bitcoin will gain more popularity during 2-3 years and we start using it everywhere for every need like fiat money. I think Bitcoin would be able to replace fiat in 10-15 years, in case it would have a strong regulation.

I love your predictions. But I guess there is no intervention of any government for the future of bitcoin. Bitcoin's instinct value itself will make it as a universal money in very near future. When bitcoin price goes high, people will start using it more. When more people using it, price will go higher. So, we need not worry on any governments.
2556  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: October 11, 2015, 02:38:46 PM
it depends on your lifestyle, if i have to think about my position i think 250 bitcoin will be good at the actuale rate

Definitely our life style is an important factor on deciding the retirement amount. But here the actual prediction would be the price of bitcoin approximately on your retirement age. If you have more than enough bitcoins on your retirement you can lead a lavish lifestyle as a multi millionaire.
2557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: quantum computer is here. and now? on: October 11, 2015, 02:09:58 PM
I don't think there is any need to panic for 2 reasons
1.First i think,it is not possible even to break or crack SHA256
2.If even it's possible, then i don't think quontum computers will be available to public and they will only be used for scientific purposes..there's so much money invested in bitcoin around the world and i seriously doubt some computer even if it's quountum can completely damage bitcoin Cool

I too do not think the currently available quantum computing machines will able to crack down the bitcoin private keys. All the quantum computers are not able to break bitcoin, people misunderstand that invention of quantum would break bitcoin private keys. That's completely meaningless. The extreme quantum capable computers theoretically may crack our private keys, but not viable for their invention for next 50 years.
2558  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: October 11, 2015, 02:04:08 PM
What? Bitcoin is perfect for porn sites because of its anonymity. If porn sites started ripping you off then they wouldn't survive for long with such a bad rep. News would quickly spread that people wernt getting what they paid for. Most sites will probably use a bitcoin payment processor too.

How will they verify your age if they adopt bitcoin as the payment system? Most legitimate sites out there won't let you get access to their stuffs without verifying that part to prevent getting their licence getting banned! Wink

BTW, why do you worry about paying through credit card?  They won't disclose your personal information Smiley

The worry on using credit card in a porn site is not at the site side, but most of the people worrying about the credit card bill or statements will unveil the information where we have used the cards. I personally do not like the porn site transactions in my card statement as my father may see that.
2559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: October 11, 2015, 07:52:30 AM
as i told earlier that if ab devillers stay above 26 runs then we can expect the score of 300+ for SA and see SA posted 303/5 in 50 overs, very good score in last 4 overs they score more than 50 runs, now its india batting time to show the talent of their home ground benefit.
I don't think so India can score 300+ because in SA team bowling and Fielding both are good.

Indian team has got lot of good batsman so if they play and build couple of good partnerships then they can easily win this match.
Another easy profits for me from cricket betting, this time India will win this match quite easily as the pitch fully supportive for batsmen as India has more number of batsmen. AB deivllers alone not enough to stop India from conquering their home matches.
2560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dear banks, it's not about blockchain technology on: October 11, 2015, 04:01:30 AM
Banks will understand slowly that bitcoin itself offers a banking system to people.
Even every country has their own fiat, Gold alone acts as a world wide accepted medium of exchange. Same way even every government or bank creates their own crypto-currency, only bitcoin can act as a inter-medium for both exchanging as well as value reference.
Then people will slowly realize what is the need of a new coin which needs bitcoin to get it's own value.
