2541  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed for 230$ on buying the account on: December 15, 2021, 06:17:56 PM
Are you talking about this account emmnazady?
Based on the first screenshot, I can't see how it would be any other account, as the username and password were messaged to OP--at least that's what I see.

I'm curious: how did you find the seller, and what made you trust a random stranger on the internet with $230 worth of untraceable immutable internet money?
C'mon LoyceV, you've seen people do that and worse a thousand times on bitcointalk.  When it comes to getting a Sr. Member account in the era of merits, I bet OP had big cartoon-type dollar signs in his eyes when he thought of all the money he could earn by getting ahold of one and enrolling it in a signature campaign.  I hate to ever say I like to see people get scammed, but in this case I'll just say that this was an expensive lesson for someone who was engaging in a shady practice and I'm short on sympathy for people like that.

Before being sympathy on the buyer (OP), we need to see this account history. It was registered in 2016 with two posts only. I don't think he could be a newbie in the forum. This may be an alt of any farm accounts.
2542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Indian Prime Minister Promoting Bitcoins Giveaway on: December 15, 2021, 05:40:10 PM
This seems to be a joke, just like the Indian Prime Minister went to the Ganges. I don't know if he is worried about the virus in the Ganges

The text written in the tweet can be considered as a joke but the hacking of a prime minister's Twitter account is no joke at all.

By the way, one thing is for sure that hackers were someone whom knew about crypto or wanted to make crypto legal in India.

Ok, so I made it super-basic. A QR code and a bitcoin address.

https://smokinghopium.io

Wen lambo?

I checked your site and i find it hard to find the tipping address. All i can see one bitcoin address at the bottom of the site and nothing is mentioned that is is a donation / tipping address. If you can highlight it and also please improve the visibility of the site.
It look like a black n white site of old age with no colors. (Take it as a positive feedback  Smiley)
2545  Economy / Services / Re: Here is a good place to find partners for new projects? on: December 02, 2021, 05:28:22 AM
Is there a good place to find partners as CMO/Advisors for new projects?

What do you mean by partners in the project ? You want the investors to join your project ?
I am afraid 99% of the people who are looking for investors to invest in their project and become partners and in the end, they are just being scammed.
People even don't have any project and they try to look for easy money in the form of partners.
2546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange or hardware wallet ? on: December 02, 2021, 04:37:00 AM
I hope that OP gets something and enlightens his mind now. Having the two different wallets has also a different purpose and that it needs to be clear before using one of them. And I believe that you grasp some ideas and know what you gonna do to safeguard your funds out from this risky environment.
I guess, all the replies above are good enough to guide you on which one to choose. If ever you've got a mistake, that was not because we are wrong, it is definitely it's yours.

When new people enter in the crypto, they usually first make account on the exchanges and they consider that these exchanges are serving the purpose of the wallet which is totally wrong. Only a few like OP curious to know the difference between the two while majority of the newbies are still keeping their funds on the exchanges.
2547  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Black Friday 2021 on: December 02, 2021, 04:12:44 AM
Not everyone needs everything listed here but since we are on the bitcoin forum, trading view is one item which everyone must have  used if they are trading crypto or even if they just wana analysis prices of bitcoin and other crypto currencies. On every black friday, trading view comes with with more or less same discounts and its worth buying trading view subscription in these discounted periods.
Agree about TradingView. If you're trading crypto more or less actively, it's very useful tool, especially with Premium features. So, Black Friday was great chance to save some money.

Have you seen anything that is just for Cyber Monday? I know in years past there have been both BF & CM deals that were different.
I know there are places that take BTC that are running some good deals, but nothing that is BTC specific.
There have been in past years, but I don't see anything with a quick look as of now.

-Dave
Sorry for responding your post just now. I tried to look for deals made just for Cyber Monday, but I wasn't able to find anything, everything was connected with Black Friday. Well, maybe I don't know how to search for it...

As i have seen this year that there were no difference of deals in Black Friday and Cyber Monday. If anyone have missed the deals on black friday, they can still grab those deals on the cyber monday. However, now deals are closing (trading view deal already closed) and some will close soon. If anyone want to buy anything cheap, they should act now or else they be keep waiting.
2548  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How does one start on crypto? on: December 02, 2021, 03:59:52 AM
I would looking into staking stablecoins as a starting point. Stablecoins are assets that are typically pegged to some other currency or commodity. For example USDC is a token which matches the US dollar 1:1. There are many reliable places in the crypto space which pay a high APY, much better than leaving that money in a bank account in my opinion.

If you need to stake stable coins, why would you need to jump into crypto. You can deposit your fiat in the bank and get interest on it on monthly/quarterly basis (although the interest given by banks are less as compare to the APY for stable coins)
A better option is to join the crypto trading where you can trade the volatility and generate much more income.
2549  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 01, 2021, 05:35:39 PM

When you put in even 5 minutes of research into shitEthereum to find out that it's a giant scam platform with zero redeeming humanitarian value long term, then you realize that investing in shitEthereum is both immoral and antithetical to the goals of Bitcoin. The only people that are going to get wealthy with shitEthereum are Vitalik and all the other scammers who he sold his pre-mined coins to.

Also, beware the so-called "crypto experts" who start off evangelizing Bitcoin, only to pivot away to some shitcoin after they have gained their followers' trust. They were a bullshit wolf-in-sheeps-clothing all along who never truly believed in the ideology and goals of Bitcoin.

2551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nigeria continuous banning of crypto on: December 01, 2021, 11:27:15 AM
I still think that restraining people to use crypto is just sad. Crypto is a freedom, and the idea of maybe they are planning to build their own, it will start as a regulated crypto that is governed by the government. I know crypto will not remain unregulated, but I think we need to experience its greatness before it does. For sure there will be lot more of rules and regulations for crypto in the coming years once the government figure out how to take it by their hands.

Nigeria or any other country can't forever ban the crypto currencies. When they will see that that people are still using crypto and also other countries are adopting it, they will have to change their decision of banning and think on regulating crypto. Its just a matter of time when crypto will be legal everywhere.
2552  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which is the best platform to get clients as a web designer? on: December 01, 2021, 11:00:17 AM
Why not posting your service offered here? For sure you can get some clients knowing that many are seeking for something they need to learn or get some workers who can work for them so  better try to post your creative thread for people to see also try to seek it on linked since mostly big time clients are there posting their wants regarding on technical and other type of jobs that they required.

Better to post on multiple platform so that you can get a better result.

Yes OP should post about his services and portfolio in the services section. There are many emerging crypto and gambling companies who may need the services of the web designers. Since not many people offer such service here, the competition will be less as compare to the freelancing platforms like fiverr.

2554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you lend your cryptocurrencies? on: December 01, 2021, 09:33:06 AM
I have not yet done this. But have given some BTC to my friend for his emergency and I dont mind if he gives it back. But yes when an unknown person here requests me for BTC as a lend, then would think of it and will check on the procedures everyone follows when lending and will provide based on his reputation in the past. But as of now, have not come across guys approaching me requesting for BTC.

There is some complications in this lending of bitcoin and other crypto except stable coins like USDT. As an example, if you lend someone 100$ in  bitcoins, later at the time of return, you will want same amount of bitcoins or the USD value ?

If the bitcoin price rises too much at the time when the receiver has to pay then it might create a dispute if the receiver want to return the USD value only in bitcoin.
2555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Governments planning a Crypto Crackdown? on: December 01, 2021, 09:08:56 AM
Recently, many governments have been showing increasing animosity against Cryptos. While the US is preparing to launch a Blockchain surveillance plan, other countries such as Sweeden are showing signs of moving towards a crypto crackdown by criminalising mining.

Should we be worried about this?

If you are running a public crypto business or you are accepting crypto payments in your business, then you should worry as you won't be able to continue it if the government starts the Crypto Crackdown.
However if you are doing trading and / or holding crypto, then there is no need to be worried.
2556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: December 01, 2021, 08:44:46 AM

I have to absolutely agree with you on this one because there is no reason why this can't be done, and we also know that BCCI is not doing that. you know, they are getting really good enough money from the IPL and why do something that might jeopardize the money. Maybe in the distant future where IPL will lose its traction, then maybe they will think about doing something like that in my opinion.

Australia and England are promoting woman cricket since they have interest of people in woman cricket, they have funds and its there state policy to include woman in every aspect of life. Other countries don't have or dont follow these parameters. Other boards are more concerned about money so they wont invest any penny from there pocket for woman leagues.
I do not think in India people are interested in watching women cricket. If there is any domestic women cricket tournament then there is hardly any media coverage. Some international tournament do get the coverage. The media knows there less to no viewership. Women themselves I guess donot watch, how can then BCCI start a WIPL. BCCI only wants to invest in
domains where they know they will generate revenue.

Women IPL will be a complete failure. No one see the woman international cricket matches and you will find no audience for women IPL.
Secondly, there is not much match talent in woman to play the game and hence it will be hard to make 4 to 6 six teams with Indian woman cricketers.
2557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: December 01, 2021, 07:12:17 AM
Why then the fight between Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather last all 8 rounds? Floyds is also very experienced. He could have ended the fight in first round. Half of his wins are by KO, so yes, Floyds is also able to knock people out.

As sovie told - it is a show. No one is interested in knocking Logan. Knocking him out could made him stop boxing. That means people wont be able to earn on him. But that is stupid, because he is a media person.

Fight scenario might be following: people will check how good betting is doing. If they earn good money now, they might "make" this fight to end with a draw and make them rematch.
Hmm, looking at this way, you're right.

As an exhibition fight, do you think that before they fight, an agreement is signed imposing that the fight occur in 3 rounds? 5 rounds? or something similar like that!!? Is it allowed to knock out the opponent?

I think these are important questions, because if there is any closure saying what you can and cannot do, we will already have a "winner" and therefore we can have a prediction of the duration of the fight

Anyway... these are exhibition fight stuff.

No doubt this is an exhibition fight but the rules of the boxing should remain the same and should not be altered. Also there should be no understanding of who will win and who will lose. The match should be natural as only then the audience will be interested to watch the match.
2558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: November 30, 2021, 06:46:58 AM

Eventually India has given a target of 284 runs to the New Zealand team. The surface of the pitch is helping the bowlers more now. New Zealand has lost their first wickets today and the match will continue on day five. I have a strong feelings that India will win the match. There is a big difference between the betting odds and it is fully in favour of India now.

Congrats to those who made there bet on draw they must have enough funds to enjoy there Christmas and new year. Its proved once again that odds are nothing to predict the outcome of any match. They say and I believe that "cricket is old funny game". India must be disappointed and they should rightly be but nonetheless its an interesting contest.

If you had placed a bet on a draw before the start of the match, that's understandable but i doubt anyone would have placed a bet on draw on the last day of this test match. There were no signs of draw but the last wicket partnership stood in between a winning of a team and a draw. No one would have predicted this in the morning of the last day of the test.
2559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan believes Bitcoin is Overpriced on: November 30, 2021, 05:48:01 AM
Don’t trust what big corps say regarding investments, especially financial ones. They don’t care about you, they don’t want the little guys to do well.

People like Jp Morgan only care about themselves and their wealth. They have no interest in the public. They often come up with these statements to remain popular in the public and also this make them feel good when people are talking about them.
Simple answer to them is that bitcoin is not over-priced because it has fixed supply.
2560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Was Bitcoin talked about at your Thanksgiving celebration? on: November 30, 2021, 05:17:06 AM
Every thanksgiving there’s often a topic or two that’s almost assuredly to pop up, and this year Bitcoin/NFTs and all things cryptocurrency were one of these topics. I know it came up at my Thanksgiving party, how about yours? What exactly was talked about? Just thought this would be a fun social experiment.

There was no serious discussion at my side on the thanks giving day. However, just on the joke side i asked my friends to give me gifts in the form of crypto but that wording was ignored.
Sadly, most of my near and dear ones have no interest in bitcoin as the say its overprices and hyped. I know they are wrong.
