2541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion] Should Gambling be Banned? on: July 20, 2022, 06:39:41 PM
In my country actors who promote gambling sites are responsible for deaths happening with the users below the age of 18 years. This has kept the actors and popular people away from promoting gambling sites. Those gambling sites aren't provably fair operating. In such a way regulations can be created and proper awareness need to be given. This can help gamblers limit their participation and stay out of big losses.

Actors or popular personalities who are promoting gambling are not responsible for the death of underage people who are playing gambling. Actors never ask kid or those under 18 to play gamble. If anyone plays gambling at so early age, his/her parents should be accountable for their actions.
These are the people who bring bad name to the gambling.

Indeed, why would they responsible for that? The advertisement surely says not for underage and requires adult supervision. Just like how the actors or popular personalities promotes liquor brands, they are also not responsible for the consumptions and addictions of underage people or any cases that will lead to death because of the liquors. It is always the sole responsibility for the parents/guardian to educate the kids.
2542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Asia Cup 2022 (Japan vs Philippines) on: July 20, 2022, 05:54:55 PM
After I saw the previous match Japan vs. Iran with a score (88-76) and the Philippines had to lose against New Zealand with a score (75-92), it seems the Philippines should really prepare themselves in the FIBA Asia Cup, to beat Japan today.

What I saw both teams were both successful in basketball, but as far as I know the Philippines today will face different Japanese players, they have to work hard to fight and beat Japan, but Japan also doesn't stay silent.

To be honest, for me personally the basketball match Japan vs. The Philippines today, I tend to believe that Japan has the highest score, this is my consideration.

Japan dominated the Philippines in the said match-up (102-81) and it was the reason why the Gilas Pilipinas didn't made to be in the Top 8, it was somehow clear that the Philippine team now wasn't that prepared to face other international teams this time. I mean, the Philippine team was good but clearly not enough to avoid elimination.
2543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: July 20, 2022, 05:09:53 PM

So win or lose, I doubt that GGG will be force somewhat to fight his mandatory or whatever they call it to have one champion. The focus for him right now is Canelo and that's what he is going to concentrate whatever WBA orders him, it doesn't matter for now.

It's a rivalry that he is really eager to win. There's nothing else that is important for him aside from taking down

Canelo and prove that he really deserves the win, a personal matter he is not after to whoever
the organization is requiring him.

It's a must fight for GGG and since both camps are ready now and they are really hyping these upcoming trilogy.

This is really personal for GGG and he's been waiting for this fight to happen for years because Canelo is declining every talk and hype about the trilogy. Fortunately, Canelo bumped into a 2-way deal that he could not resist because he won't have that Bivol fight he wanted if he won't sign the trilogy fight.

After this fight and hopefully a win in his side, I don't think that GGG is still interested to fight anyone in the industry anymore even if it's a mandatory fight. He's not up to the belt nor the money it can bring because as I said, this is personal to him.
2544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 20, 2022, 04:48:01 PM
.....
It's clear to see that his production has fallen off a cliff and he no longer has the athleticism to draw fouls on drives.  That is taking away from his ability to get defenders to fall for his moves and allow him to get open step back three point shots off.
I'm not really sure if that's the case on his athleticism. Maybe he wouldn't change his playing style if the rule on foul baiting wasn't changed by the league last season. He was one of those guys getting a lot of free throws and criticized for drawing fouls by getting contact from defenders in an unnatural way after all. Refs don't call most of them now.

He was forced to change his style because he was the face why the rule has changed last off season and this is not the first time that the NBA was forced to change a rule because there is a player who is smart enough to override the said rule. Now, he's having a hard time because he's playing that since he emerged in NBA but hopefully he can overcome that and adopt a new style that will help him acquire a ring.

No offense naman sa kanila been using them since 2017 pero may mga kalaban na at parang nakapa higpit nila.

2546  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph suspended my account without valid reason on: July 17, 2022, 12:10:38 PM

Unfortunately, nangyari na rin sa kin to in the last couple of weeks.

Smiley

LeBron really tore it up in the Drew League today.  Putting up 42 and 16 against the mostly amateur competition.  Pretty amazing that he's still able to dominate like this at his age.  Looking like if he can stay healthy next year will be another big one.

In other news,  Grin

https://twitter.com/RealSkipBayless/status/1548509555033681922
That's Skip, he always looks at the dark side. This is why I don't like reading his content.
Give the 37-year-old superstar a break. I bet Skip cannot even make a layup anymore at that age.  Cheesy
Anyway, most of the article also focuses on Kyrie not attending the invite but they are optimistic he will come today.

Just finished talking to a friend who is a big fan of Blake Griffin. Told him he is a free agent now.
What team do you think this 2009 number 1 draft pick will end up to?
He is just 33 years old, may not be a strong impact on the offensive end but he may be able to still help defensively.

Perhaps the Chicago Bulls? we all know that Blake is already way past his prime, his best years where with the Clippers with CP3. But when he got injured, no more high flying acts for him, but he did try to evolved and be a good 3 point shooter and a defender just like what he did with the Nets.

And the Bulls needed some veteran and experience players. Especially in close out games and during the playoff as well. If some savvy veteran like Blake can mentor Lavine and him also helping like in defense and rebounds in like 10-15 minutes a game, he will be a big help for the Bulls.

Blake still has a career IMO, he can still be useful to any team, and the fact that he is not expensive as he was before, he can easily be added to a roster of a team that needs an experienced big man. How about the Warriors? Maybe that will give him a chance to win a championship since the Warriors are a great team.
2548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: July 17, 2022, 09:54:25 AM
^^ I guess we have to include Loma in the discussion because that is Lopez best win in his career. But then again, Loma was injured, then he wanted to have a rematch, in which Lopez didn't want to. And Teo obviously chooses the wrong fight because Kambosos beat him badly.
Exactly, Kambasos gave him a match that he will not forget, I was even surprised that Lopez was expecting a win after the right even though he was hit by a lot of power punches from Kambasos. Lopez is not a real man, he should give Loma a rematch as a sign of respect for the old champion.

And now that he is campaigning in a new division, again, a lot of good names in here so it will really expose Lopez on how good or how he is an average fighter. Against Campa, maybe we can say that he can win here, but against tougher a tougher natural welterweight, we will see how he will go against them.
He can win against Campa but will probably struggle against a legit champion in this division.
Campa is probably a cherry-picked fight for Lopez IMO.
Based on the list he only has to deal with Josh Taylor, Teofimo Lopez is still a great and skill full boxer and he can match what Josh Taylor can offer he will be a legit super lightweight if he beats Campa and will fave the way to challenge Taylor, he needs to be spectacular in this fight just like he did when is in the lightweight division.

Super lightweight/Junior welterweight
WBA: Vacant.
WBC: Vacant.
IBF: Josh Taylor.
WBO: Josh Taylor.
The Ring: Josh Taylor.

Wow, so there's only one champion in this division? It's a great opportunity for Lopez to get all that belt if he will beat Josh Taylor and he could be the reigning champion in this division if he would really does well. It will be a big challenge for Josh Taylor so I surely want to see Lopez getting to the top to challenge the best.

According here https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/725709), Taylor is only an IBF and WBO champion, not sure if the list is updated or not.

Gawa nalang ng ibang excuse, like remittances or anything na madaling i justify.

Does anyone have an idea of where Matthew Wright plays?

I have read on my social media newsfeed where coach Topex announced right after their blowout win against Converge that it was Wright's final game in the PBA.

If indeed this was true then it could be that Wright will be playing in Japan B-League where rumors came out last year.

He won't be playing somewhere else. I stumbled upon that news literally just now on my Facebook newsfeed and the caption was, Matthew Wright will leave the country for the long-postponed plan of his wedding on the 24th in the United States.

Since I was curious, I searched for some links to share here. I think the news was already spread out in PH local sports news.

Wright plays Phoenix farewell game ahead of long-postponed US wedding

Good, I thought that his departure will mean that we might play on the other big leagues around Asia.

Yeah, it might be difficult for coach Topex to re-adjust but for sure he has plans already with Wright's absence. I think the team is still solid and who knows maybe they can found a new gem within the team that will elevate his game even more to cover what they are going to lost in terms of point production in the absence of Wright.

I was thinking of the same, I read the headline that it's his last game so it sink to my mind that maybe he will be going to B League like other PBA players, good thing he will stay. That was a good game for him, he wasn't hesitating and just keep shooting the ball, that was the old Wright we saw, I hope he will stay consistent.

By the way, according to the commentator, the semi finals is a best of 7 series.

That's good, more games more fun, usually, the semi-finals is only a best of 5 series, making it a best of 7 series makes the series more exciting to watch. Well, we don't know who will advance, but I hope TNT will have a slot in the semi or finals.

TNT will be in the semi-finals, at least.
No doubt about that as they were champion before.

Live now, Phoenix vs Converge, Phoenix is on a losing streak, though I think they need to win, but I bet on the better team here which is the converge.

Let's see if their good play will continue, what I see is, that the problem with Phoenix is they don't know how to close a game with a win.

This is a big win for Phoenix, it's a must-win for them if they like to qualify for the elimination and they have really dominated the Converge here. I can see some inconsistency from Converge, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs.
2554  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: July 16, 2022, 12:21:17 PM

It's an obvious scam kabayan, basta may word na recruit, parang networking lang yan.

Sana mag trading nalang, kahit konte ang kita at least alam natin na legit, basta too good to be true and return, scam yan.

2557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 14, 2022, 07:53:42 PM
There are too many rumors circulating but they were really vague as both camps and Showtime will try not to offend each other with the ongoing negotiations. So it's like we can only say that news is only reliable when it comes directly from Espinoza head of Showtime, Al Haymon of PBC, Ellerbe the manager of Spence, Spence himself, and Crawford himself. Stephen Espinoza of Showtime said this week that he is confident of a deal this month.
And if I'm not mistaken though, the news can only come out from the mouth of the reliable sources like you mentioned and they could include this in the contract itself. And if anyone break that, for sure the fight might got cancelled or if not, some monetary incentive of the parties that broke the agreement. And maybe this is the reason why it is so quiet that we don't hear anything from either of them because the negotiations are very secret that only a few people only knows what's going on behind. And all we hear are just noises and rumors.

Don't know if that is the really case but actually if they remain silent towards that rumored fight then maybe they cannot hype up that huge match knowing that boxing still a business and sold millions of dollars ticket sales, so maybe there's no deal has been discuss yet toward thus fight and those news is just purely a rumor.
I somehow disagree on this, Crawford-Spence fight doesn't need the hype to help them sell their fight because these two can create it whenever they wanted. Also, the hype was already there even though the fight is still classified as rumored but Crawford and Mayweather have been confirming that both camps are close to reaching a deal so frankly, there's some discussion up until now.

I just realized that I haven't been gambling all that much recently. That's probably about the drop, but also the fact that we have been in a drop for many months now and yet I still gambled makes me confused. Yes, it's low now and yes that has caused me to have less money, and yes that is why I probably do not gamble as much as I did back in the day.
Well, first off, it is good to know about that because you're not spending that much money recently as you've said and I'm sure you've saved yourself. But back to the topic, only you can answer those questions mate because if you gambled much back in the day when the price is a bit steep then you should still gamble now even if the price went low. Price can be still adjusted by how much you wanted to gamble.
2559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 14, 2022, 05:57:09 PM
Of course the problem is that, if you are willing to get westbrook, then you should be hoping to get something else. The biggest trouble with the Irving deal is that if you give Westbrook, and even if you give some picks which Lakers barely have any, you are sending him to Durant, which we all know they both dislike each other and that would be a problem.
Maybe that is why Nets are trying to move Durant first before they take care of Irving. But if they move Durant and then get Westbrook, then they are left with Simmons and Westbrook which we know both of them don't shoot well. It will be a disaster. That is why I do not see Westbrook-Irving trade scenario to happen.

That is what the Nets is trying to do but the Lakers are more interested to get Kyrie Irving rather than Kevin Durant because the latter's trade is much more complicated as it means that the Lakers need to free 2 or 3 players for Durant; whereas if the Lakers get Irving in exchange for Westbrook.

It's too unfortunate for the Nets because they had to come up with this situation because their 2 all-star player wanted to move out after the Nets had done for this two. Back to the Lakers, I believe LBJ is pressuring the management to get Irving though than Durant because the King was vocal that he's still upset with Westbrook.

In less than two weeks we can see a crossroad fight between former world champions Adrien Broner and Omar Figueroa. This should be fun to watch as both were entertaining fighters before. AB with his funny antics and trash talks while Figgy's hot sister might attend the press conference, weigh-in, and the fight. This may not be for world title contention but I felt this fight as more alluring than the fake fights of Jake Paul and Mayweather Sr.'s exhibition fights.

LOL Grin you got me there! I sure do hope that Omar's sister, Liliane, would attend the said press conference to make the event more hotter and interesting. Anyway, yes this will be a better fight and an entertaining one to see because of Broner's attitude and movement in the ring. I'm also looking forward to this match next month and not in less than 2 weeks.
