2561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is fake shit on: March 09, 2020, 09:40:22 PM
Can be concluded. the average person who hates crypto between two things, those who get scammed / become victims (disappointed) and those who do not understand or do not think broadly about technology (usually people who pretend to be smart). It's clear that crypto is very risky for him, but why do these people still try it? Didn't you already understand the consequences of this very risky investment, even the fiat that you hold today does not guarantee in the long run, always ends up dealing with inflation and someone tries to find a solution that we call cryptocurrency. come on don't hate crypto too much, or you will regret it sometime later.

Well typically people who hate crypto is a loser, they cannot accept the fact that crypto is getting bigger than the conventional currency that we are using and always think that it is a kind of scam and unreal. People be scared yet starving to profit a gain lol. One of the reason why the market is down today because of this, from panicking and pulling out after the expectation of them to the price didn't go right. But we cannot blame the ignorance, we just need to educate them.

DYOR

2562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would You Rent A Car With Bitcoin? on: March 09, 2020, 09:05:19 PM
Hi guys, I'm working in the travel industry and recently found some global online travel agencies such as EasyRentCars start getting into crypto payments. I wonder how many crypto owners would be more interesting to purchase the service if the company accepts cryptocurrency? Would that be an effective feature?

Do you mean renting while on a holiday or actually leasing a car for months/years?
Maybe he mean for a day or for a week. I tried renting a car for family vacation but they only offer a maximum of 5 days, guess it depends on the company policy, I haven't try renting a car for a month. I think the crypto payment would not be that effective, why? simply because it is volatile, the payment for crypto will be just seasonal and that is when the market turns green and people already gained from it. So if you are looking for a travel industry feature, the best is the cheap price.
2563  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and Diamond on: March 09, 2020, 08:32:26 PM
No, we can't both Bitcoins and diamonds have limited supply, but Bitcoin is utility. So they are bought for different purposes and shouldn't be compared.

Since they invented synthetic diamonds we can't longer say it has a limited supply. And it has properties superior to the naturally formed diamonds. People can't make the difference between natural and synthetic and unless you see the label 'Treasure Chest Grown' you won't know what you're buying... because yes, you can find some into jewelry stores but of course they don't tell you clearly.
I don't think that by having synthetic diamonds is having unlimited supply, it is a no for me, although the looks are pretty similar ( No difference at all) since the process of creating is the same with much lesser amount of time on the synthetic. For me synthetic diamonds are not real stones, they are just made for glamour thing with cheaper price unlike the real diamond.

Only rare diamonds are considered a store of value and people are no interested to invest in synthetic diamonds. It's a little like people buying USD but if they know there are a lot of USD banknotes circulating they won't be interested to buy anymore.
Hell yeah, Imagine the cost of real diamond, about $4000 a carat compare with the cost of synthetic diamond that costs $800 a carat, the price already spoke the truth about it.
2564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Corona is spreading in many countries!! Bitcoin is a solution for transactions on: March 08, 2020, 11:56:29 PM
I'm still not sure I understand the hysteria over all this.  Normal flu has potentially contributed to killing hundreds of thousands of people each year, but that's not on the news every day.

Plus, as others have said, there's likely very little impact on Bitcoin in terms of adoption because people supposedly don't want to handle physical cash.  I think people are just looking for an excuse to be bullish on speculation.
Are you saying that the internet is just over reacting to corona virus? cause this is definitely true that there are plenty of people dying jsut because of a simple flu and not being reported on the news, but the fact that the virus is news people should be aware of it. Bitcoin could potentially be used on this kind of situation like in China, Korea and other countries that have been hit by the virus.
2565  Economy / Economics / Re: corona Vírus doesn't affect bitcoin price on: March 08, 2020, 10:54:20 PM
Bitcoin price is depend on so many different factors. That's why it's hard to find a correlation between it and events in the world. So we see that COVID-19 outbreak didn't affect the price. It seems to me that stock market is more limpid for analysis.

There's actually not that much factors that affect Bitcoin, it's mostly just pure speculation, which is just unpredictable, and occasionally it does react to news, but only when they concern Bitcoin directly, like when some important country bans it or legalizes it. Yesterday the price was $9,000 and today it dipped all the way to $8,200 without any big news or reason - that's just how it is, Bitcoin was always volatile, and it's important to realize it and stop looking for sophisticated explanations.
There isn't much proof that external factors such as diseases like this could destroy nor build the bitcoin or crypto space but in simpler things like people trying to buy bitcoin in frighten to lose their paper value due to this might actually help. The core of cryptocurrency is a pure speculation so this already mean that there is no direct relation of anything outside the crypto space to it. It is quite interesting how the market is moving far from most of our expectation especially now that the most anticipated event on bitcoin is coming. Guess we should look more after with what is happening in the real world.
2566  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Brought Bitcoin in 2017 and sold in 2018 on: March 08, 2020, 09:53:58 PM
So your buy-sell timespan is pretty much just months, not even one single year. That timespan is nowhere close to even being called "investing". It looks like you bought bitcoin so you will "get-rich-quick", where mindsets like that always end up making people lose money. You might want to be more realistic with your expectations.
It seems like people are really exaggerating their expectations with investing result using cryptocurrency especially bitcoin. Quick rich mindset, again there is no shortcut for getting rich until you were born rich. What these people are doing is invest-expect high-lose-ASK, there is nothing wrong with asking what went wrong but there are obvious things that does not need to ask for answers. The fact that you decided to sell it in low price is a decision that you accepted that you have lost, you could've waited for so many years before selling it.
2567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China will bring up the Blockchain Engineering Bachelor. on: March 08, 2020, 08:52:29 PM
While it's cool that at least someone offers this, it's sad that it's not a good university. China's a powerful country, and they have high-quality higher education. But this university is such a no-name that it's even hard to find any info about it online. Okay, I get it, China is not big on the Internet, they have their own space for that. But it seems suspicious in any case that Google confuses it with other facilities, the website seems to be offline (if CUIT is the one), and a Wikipedia page (if, again, it's the same university, and I am not sure of that) says that this facility's known for an incident of promoting cruel behavior with animals for the sake of research. I also cannot find this news on any reputable news portals...
Seems like China is really into blockchain technology and I admire them for doing that, They always impress me with the steps they are taking for the innovation.

I disagree on you for calling the said University "no-name university",I find it rude for calling an institution in that way. Upon visiting the reference link, it is CUIT that has been offering this and I can say that the University's achievement is great with technological stuffs although it is provincial University. But the animal cruel history on the university is also at large, however that is too far from main thing.
2568  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin Is Not a Viable Currency Option.q on: March 08, 2020, 08:18:56 PM
The only reason why I see it can't be a currency in the current time as it's very very volatile, imagine going to groceries to pay with bitcoins. You buy two cucumbers at 0.0005 btc let's say. In between the time you pick up the cucumbers and cashout, the price goes up and now you get 3 cucumbers instead of two in same price. Or the price goes down and you get only one cucumber instead of two lol. It will really bring confusions and in no way will work for the average Joe like me :/
I also consider to reasons the volatility of bitcoin that stops the world from making it a currency because volatility is uncontrolled by which decentralized networks are taking account into.  This is not about the use of cryptocurrency but the factor that dominates all the reason why we can't have it now, however there is so much time left for the bitcoins to be mined hence we are are going to fight for a long time to achieve what our dream society is. Just look at what is happening now to the prices of cryptocurrency because of what is happening in the world, wars, disease spreading, financial crisis etc. We can't just ignore those for this.
2569  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING NEWS:Bitcoin Now Qualified as Legal Form of Money by French Authorities on: March 08, 2020, 07:47:41 PM
Their so called legalization process is highly biased , they put a lot and lot of tax on bitcoins compared to other investments .
People are trying to get it all figured out but .. thats all we can do . Even in India I don't think I agree with the taxes they have put upon the cryptocurrencies.
It is sad knowing how much would it cost to a person using bitcoin in such country like this that tax is always on talk. But maybe this is the consequence of being in spotlight for adoption process right now. Countries are slowly taking the grant on making the bitcoin recognizable currency and I don't find it biased if this is the case, It is just the right thing to do to make it under control.
But it is a good thing that they are legalizing it but we still have a long way to go .
Laws to protect the cryptocurrencies should be implemented separately ! Which would increase the positive side of the coin.. and encourage people to look into it .
Everything has a positive and negative effects, I guess we are going to feel the effects when we start implementing this on way more countries especially in Europe. Regulations and Laws are pretty hard to pass on this I can feel it.
2570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin become a safe haven for corona virus economic impact? on: March 08, 2020, 07:16:02 PM
i believe that it is mainly because so far to this date bitcoin price has never been changing based on incidents in the world that have been affecting other markets. for example there are times when stock market pumps but bitcoin remains the same or vice versa.
I don't usually compare crypto market to the stock market as they are different in many reason, however there is a relation to the price movement from stock to crypto but it does not necessarily mean that it has changed because of the other market. Events in the world is noticeably changing the prices on both market, it is crazy to call it coincidence.

the past 24 hours have been strange though because we had another small drop which brought the price back to $8k range without any reasonable explanation.
if we get out of this slump then we can easily see the big rises start and with all other markets crashing hard, that can attract some additional money towards bitcoin market.
It bothers me when I saw the price of bitcoin dropping at $8K again, like I'm confused where are we going with the price given that there is a huge problem with the disease, are we moving downwards instead of upwards? How about the halving?
2571  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency can not replace fiat currency. on: March 07, 2020, 05:31:38 AM
I do think Cryptocurrency never meant to replace fiat

Fiat is necessary.
Till the time we are not able to get rid of the poverty , provide people with a full stomach , a mobile in their hand and education . We cannot expect them to start using cryptocurrencies.

Replacing Fiat would be bad for the majority of the society , only half of the population or even less is fortunate enough to know about cryptocurrencies and use them.
People are trying to hardly compare these two type of currency when in fact, the other, cryptocurrency wasn't purposely made to replace anything but to be an alternative use of fiat in modern and online world. FIAT IS NECESSARY, we cannot use fiat everytime just like buying and trading in the internet and so the cryptocurrency is, you cannot just buy a candy in the lowest satoshi value just because you want to. Both currency are best at what their field of use is but most of time we use fiat because we need to do so.

Cryptocurrencies and Fiat are best at what they do , but I don't think they plan on replacing each other .
Yeah, it was never meant to replace the fiat, people are just too braggy about the cryptocurrency to the exaggerated extent.
2572  Economy / Economics / Re: The Impact of Corona Virus Disrupts the Crypto Industry in China. on: March 05, 2020, 05:48:09 PM
Not only China , but a lot of countries are being affected 10 days before I thought personally that China was too far away and we would at least have some time and in that time vaccination could be produced.
Vaccines are hard to find since the origin of the virus is not yet determined, there are conclusions that the virus originated from an animal but they don't know which animal it is. And as far as I know this is not the only case, there are people who has been diagnosed with the virus that is never been anywhere in China. Scary right?

But now people from Italy are going crazy and travelling around the world spreading the Virus , I do have no idea how can they be this stupid and selfish.
Now Virus is spreading , the workers are going down , the economic situation is dying , not just in China but everywhere now.
There are already cases where people are getting sick due to the virus on which unbelievably that they weren't outside of their country like in Japan and Italy. The economic status of China is at risk with this kind of disease, all types of industry will be affected by the said cause and we will probably see how huge the impact is after even more years. Is it just a coincidence with the price plummeted last week?
2573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would You Rent A Car With Bitcoin? on: March 05, 2020, 05:14:14 PM
I would do that as it's more safer compared to paying in cash, with the blockchain, the transaction can be track and both parties can verify so it's giving us real transparency that the service owner can't deny anything.
yeah, I guess this makes sense. If somehow you are just using a single wallet for your bitcoin and especially you are a traveler then used that kind of service then you are just like giving your crypto name and the anonymous thing offered by blockchain is simply broken. I don't know, I just think that it does make sense. With public blockchain anyone can track you especially web hunters. This is where the fiat currency edges the crypto although it is trendy and efficient. However there will be no problem for users that has a lot of e-wallet.
2574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever lost access to your Bitcoins? on: March 05, 2020, 04:01:38 PM
There is nothing more embarrassing and hurtful when you got robbed  Embarrassed I got robbed on 2018, my bag with my laptop got away to me. That shit is freaking unexpected man, I'm just going home when these 2 guys suddenly ran up to me and pointed a sharp object to me, I didn't able to see if that was a knife or something but it was sharp, I'd better gave my bag than my life. I'm totally devastated at that point but luckily my phone is in my pocket, at least. I lost almost half of my access to my wallets, tokens and some other stuff that is important to crypto. I could probably bought a car with my savings on crypto, at the very least I got no losses from what I earned in 2017's blast.
2575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin Could Be The Key To World Peace on: March 04, 2020, 09:57:32 PM
I do not know about World Peace, but Bitcoin can help to have a more transparent voting system and it might help to reduce the impact that a corrupt government might have on a country. When you have transparency, you have accountability to your voters and that is what most of these governments needs.  Wink

Bitcoin can also help to make tender processes more transparent, so there will be less corruption in the whole procurement and payment process <Blockchain transparency> and this will put more funds towards projects that would provide services to the citizens of that country. < The funds will not be stolen and redirected to government officials pockets.>  Wink
Not necessarily bitcoin could help in terms of the transparency but its backend which is the blockchain, unalterable and indeed reliable source of legit data. This would probably help a nation which uses it to avoid cheating during election which might result to a better governance due to accountable and rightfully people sitting to the power chairs. But somehow the world peace is too off for this, people could still go to wars even they have a great life, it is just for economic purposes like a booster and does not target any type of beliefs.
2576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finance Minister of Nepal accepts cryptocurrency is the future of e-economy on: March 03, 2020, 08:08:21 PM
It would be nice if the OP posted a link that would give us a little more information on what Nepal is really planning to do about cryptocurrency. Also, such news (if true) does not necessarily mean that Nepal is opening its doors to BTC, but that it may be working on its own cryptocurrency.
He could've included the source on the post, I thought my internet is just slow and it does not load the full content lol.

It is not the first time that the change of politicians in power changes the attitude towards something, but also that the new change of government changes things backwards. Nepal is a fairly isolated country between China and India, and I think a lot depends on these two countries, which by the way do not have a very positive attitude towards cryptocurrency. I would say that they are not really in a positive environment and should be very careful not to annoy neighbors.
This looks encouraging to the neighboring countries although China has a huge problem on its front right now, China could've done more if such corona virus did not come out. As part of modernization, the financial system should be revised or at least add an another entity to propose a more efficient way of financing, moreover the transitioning of us now to a modern world has become the priority of the first world countries like US, China and Russia. I guess the society we are dreaming is set to sail sooner or later.
2577  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A long journey taken short - first and last journal entry of a failed trader. on: March 03, 2020, 07:21:21 PM
We must understand how bitcoin trading is basically working so that we can easily make good profits over the time. Just look at what Mr Satoshi is doing. He never touched their big stash of bitcoins and now become a billionaire out of bitcoins. I bet no active trader might have got chances to become billionaire out of their active trading of bitcoins but by simply buying and holding.
Too bad for him, I guess he's very compulsive when it comes to trading. A few years back when bitcoin is on its all time high, I see people getting crazy with it like everyone's newbie and asking how and where to buy it, I know from that time there is going to happen badly to them as the market slowly crashes and I knew for sure that they have lost on that event. It is just we expected to much from what is rising, we never see its shadow and so some are not in an ideal situation right now like the OP. May he resolve his problems especially his mental issue.

I mean to say just understanding the easiest way of making big money with bitcoin is simply buying and holding. Because, trading is not that easier unlike how most other people are sharing their success stories.
This is what I'm talking about since then, bitcoin is not a primary source of income and it will never be, same as trading that the profit is uncertain and if you make this as your job you are accepting to gamble your food in the table.
2578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Bitcoin and Altcoins bullish together on: March 03, 2020, 05:58:11 PM
basically, when the price of bitcoin goes up, the price of altcoin will also go up. although the price of bitcoin is more dominant, it will still affect the price of an altcoin. for example, in 2017, the price of bitcoin rose simultaneously with altcoin, and in 2019 the price of bitcoin was dominant, but it still affected the price of an altcoin.
Quite true although not all alternative cryptocurrencies are expected to get high whenever bitcoin gets pump, just expect a pump to happen on cryptocurrency that sits next to the bitcoin like Ethereum, XRP, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash. But also take note that there are pretty much of coins existing in the market that has its own time and progress that does not depend on bitcoin. I've been seeing less known currency that is spiking and getting bullish for quite some time. Bitcoin dominance is above half it is surprising at all if the market goes wild when halving occurs.
2579  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What tools are not enough for you to interact with cryptocurrency? on: March 03, 2020, 05:09:58 PM
If you really want a superb experience, you need more technical experiences.
I must agree on this. Being enthusiast is not enough for industry like this, it is like being good at making ideas but cannot make it into reality. Technicalities of the certain aspect must be perfectly balanced same with ideas since ideas are the foundation of the project. There are so much projects in the past that didn't make it up to now because of this issue, some are just idealizing a very complex product/service yet cannot attain the level it requires to achieve it.

Like coding, you probably need to build some services, backend or frontend sides. But this really need take a lot of time especially if you want to practice from scratch. But if you have some money budget, you can hire some developer out there.
Projects, especially made from scratch are really hard to make it will do you much of what you expect to do and the most important is the timeline whether it will be still on trend until it finishes or not anymore.
2580  Economy / Economics / Re: Money value inflation Feeling that money is not worthed?? on: March 03, 2020, 04:08:45 PM
Do you feel the same?
No matter how much money you got you feel that has no value??
Really!? I think that was just over reacting. Anyway, it's your own opinion so I respect it. Well, if you can feel the inflation there in US (I presume) then what more here in my small country in the SEA Grin. We can  also feel it. Imagin this, When I was in highschool a single egg costs P5 (Six Pesos) but right after I finished my college it now costs P8. See? Though the price hike is not that big but it was still a burden because most of my fellow counrrymen here don't improve their means of living — they got the same amount of salary over the costly goods and services Sad. I guess the inflation is inevitable. So the best thing we can do I guess is to work harder and be wiser when it comes to money management
The observation made by yours are natural on every country. There is a price hike on products due to some factors like higher labor costs, higher minimum wage for workers or whether there is an emergency happening that the supplier are taking advantage of. You are right, the inflation is inevitable. As the world advances and so the changes from financial aspect too.

So the best thing we can do I guess is to work harder and be wiser when it comes to money management
Not for my mindset, if you really want to be rich or a financial free person you should start a business with what's on trend. like what? Crypto of course.
