The Nigerian government are always looking for ways to make life extremely difficult for it citizens the new law the CBN government are prescribing is so ridiculous to me, it makes businesses like Pos goes backwards.

Although I agree that this would help limit the use of cash and may stop kidnappings and stealings also would make finding criminals easier but there lots of disadvantages on it.
The Central Bank of Nigeria is an independent body that enjoys autonomy and embedded with constipational right to formulate and implement policies that are for the betterment of the nation especially as long time concern the financial operations in the country. And I think this very money policy they have just promulgated is one policy in the right direction cause it is for the greater good. Just like you @bit_bender rightly said "this would help limit the excess use of cash flow  and may reduce or stop kidnappings and stealings(money laundering), also would make finding criminals easier". And for a policy that we all believe that it could bring a positive impact as this you had mentioned above, don't you think it's something worth applauding the CBN for?

This is a policy that even affects even the so-called corrupt politicians that they will not be able to easily move millions and billions easily anyhow, and that's why the other day the national assembly (senate) are condemning it making the ordinary citizens that doesn't know the great impact and value this new CBN money policy can positively add  to our country's currency and limit certain financial misappropriation and laundry. For me the positive impact of the policy outweighs the negative beyond comparison and it should be embraced with both hands.

2563  Economy / Economics / Re: Share Your Best Money Advice Based on Personal Experience on: December 10, 2022, 09:29:59 PM
For the longest time, I have been thinking about doing this. It seems like the right time is now. All of us have had good, bad, and ugly experiences with money. So now is a good time to offer your two cents worth of financial advice.

Ty question-  Based on your cumulative life experiences, can you share your best money advice with us?

I'd go first -  Stay out of debt as much as you can.
I would advise that don't allow money stay domant in your hand. Just like the fields, cultivate it then plant and wait for harvest time else weeds will completely take over the field. Now this analogy is based on my personal experience with money this year. I remember coming back from national service this and my last payment in addition to some little savings was what I came back home with, I ended up keeping the money in my bank account and I was gradually withdrawing little by little to foot some bills without refilling only to wake up one morning after about three months later to realize I have emptied the account, cause I never invested the money buy left it dormant in my bank account and was just taking from it without investing it I to something that would have brought in some returns.

So my advise is: don't let money stay dormant with you.

In this Croatia vs Brazil match we enjoyed a different game. I didn't expect Brazil to lose the match till the last. Croatia performed very well in the match. I didn't think that Croatia would win the match. I was dying to see Brazil win. But in the match, Brazil had more fans than Croatia.  was in the match. Brazil lost the match because of the failure of their players. Brazil missed many chances which is why they lost.

Today's match, between Portugal vs morocco will be tough but it won't get to the penalty shoot, Portugal will defeat morocco. Portugal team is different from others, they have the best squad in this world cup and morocco can't match them
Your statement looks like one borne out of emotion for a team you are supporting and I don't hold you for it cause it's your choice to pick a side. But be reminded that this Moroccan team is the only team in this world cup that has not conceded a goal from any of their opponent in all the matches they have played except for an own goal from Nayef Aguerd against Canada , for the Morocco team is one fierce defensive team in this world cup that successfully came out in first place in their group stage  so it so unwise to write them off with such statement looking at the series of unpredictable results that have been popping out of this very world cup, looking at the likes of Spain, Brazil, and even Argentina were at the brink of losing their place with the come by Weghorst goals from  2:0  to 2:2 only for them to survive the heat through penalty kicks.

I'm really curious about what you all think about cryptocurrency. I've been wanting to start investing in it for a while now, but I feel like I don't know enough about it to make good decisions. Do you have any advice?
Curiosity kills the cat  Undecided ! It's good you're curious about but you're rather curious in the wrong direction, you should rather be curious about cryptocurrency how it operates and it's modalities by doing your own thorough research about it to get to know the areas you  lacking in knowledge instead of looking forward to what other person's think about cryptocurrency. The next man thought might not fight into your own model compared to when you do your own research, seeing the difference and integrating it .
It's better you wait no more cause the more you wait the more time you waste in grabbing the opportunities. As long as you have the money go ahead and invest and make sure to have an investment plan either for a long term or short plan. Am sure you will do well!

The Argentine vs Netherland, the match at first was not interesting, it was dull to me compared to Brazil and Croatia game. Argentine played very well, they press Netherland and were able to lead at first half. It took Netherland a hard work to equalised. The Netherland team did well in the last minutes to level the score. Penalty shoot is a lucky game, there is no best team when it comes to penalty kick. It's just luck. Argentine was lucky to scale through and advanced to the semi finals.
Argentina were really lucky indeed! Like the Dutch side almost took their breathe away just to let them understand they  can't just come and easily have a win over them on a platter of gold and move to the next round of the semi finals. Even though they are now out of the tournament I still applaud  them for they fought a good fight against the Argentines at a moment we all thought that the game will be over in the 90th minutes as they were losing two goals to nothing in favour of Argentina they shocked the world with a come back as Weghorst penetrated the back of the Argentines net twice to the amazement of the crowd, forcing the game to an extra half's.

In all the world cup tournaments I have witnessed in all my life, the 2022 Qatar world cup has been the most fascinating of them all .

When a new thing comes on board there is always different thoughts and responses from different people especially for something that it is the first of it kind. Am sure you weren't the only person with such thought about it, many of us that have come to see the light about crypto did had our fair share of negative feeling somehow but today we are now making testimonials and engaging others that are still in the dark about cryptocurrency specifically bitcoin.

A beautiful lesson to learn here is that we shouldnt be in a hurry to judge a book and start breeding untrue ideas just by looking at the cover from afar. Cause the ideas we might breed might just be a delay to our opportunity of being exposed to something that would have changed our live even before it got viral but our fears and skepticism put us long in the tunnel.
2568  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ FIFA World Cup 2022: Tournament Discussion Thread for Qatar 2022 on: December 09, 2022, 06:19:44 PM
Congratulations Croatia! you deserve the spot on the Semi Finals. I never thought that Brazil will be that careless after the last and with that they lose the game. Croatia is so good on shoot out that even Brazil can’t stand there striking power on this kind of round. I’m sure Neymar is really disappointed after all he done to score and just few minutes away of waiting for the game to end yet they let Croatia strike back and put the game on shoot out.  Cheesy

The moment Croatia tied the score, I knew that they will win because shoot out is there secret weapon this world cup.
It's a spot well deserved, the Croatia team really showed so much technicality and strength in the game, right from the first half of the game they posed a threat showing no respect to the Brazilian squad that were picked by so many fans all over the world as favourite for winning the world cup tournament. It's quite disappointing but we just have to accept the results as they come.
It was so hilarious seeing the Argentina fans outside the stadium feeling excited while the penalty kicks were being taken and Croatia were leading in the penalty kick. I guess their Joy was that Argentina is going to beat Netherlands tonight to meet Croatia which they feel might not give them (Argentina) much problem as Brazil would have.
But Croatia is a team to beat! that if you understand what I mean Grin
2569  Economy / Economics / Re: Use your money wisely. Invest or Deposit ? on: December 09, 2022, 01:55:20 PM
Now you have $100,000 in your account, pure savings, and you don't need this amount of money to cover your daily expenses. Obviously it's good/free money to use at will. Let's say if you deposit the money into a bank and the annual interst rate is 3%, you will get a steady interest income year by year. If you use this money to buy Bitcoin, let's say the BTC drops to $17,000, you'll buy less than 6 Bitcoins. In the long run, what would you do with this money ? And why ?
Having such huge amount of money as $100,000 just as savings which doesn't cover your daily expenses  gives the impression that such a person is already doing well financially and can hold on for long on any choice of investment he/she chooses to venture in, no matter how long it may take to bring a return on investment. If I were to be such a person and with the idea that you shouldn't put all yours eggs in one basket, I will invest a 50% of that money into bitcoin and the other 50% deposit it in the bank for the 3% interest annual rate.
We don't know what the future holds and definitely can't put all life time savings in one hole if you're a good business man, you will understand that diversification is necessary in case of uncertainty.

They monitor you when you made some deposits in the bank.

They sit you down and start asking questions when you are ready to use your hard earned money.

They use your money behind your back to invest for themselves.
Did you know banks could be funny at times! Most of the times I attend the bank for some financial activity, like 8 out of 10 times I observed that there is always uninterrupted available network for depositors and the queues move fast unlike when it comes to withdrawal you will be experiencing network issues with their ATM's that ends up delaying the customers from withdrawing, and I have come to an understanding that it is a deliberate act to deter customers from taken their money from their confines so they don't lack fund to give out for loans, or investments for their own benefit while the customers that owns this money don't even get an interest added into their individual account at the end of the month.

The banks through the government can do anything possible to bar customers from withdrawing their money especially when withdrawal is starting to exceed deposition.

So many times we see people who were financially bouyant and stable reduced to nothing in the society,is it because they failed to strategise well?or could it be that they no longer put in the much effort they put before that got them to the level they were?what can actually be the cause of the downfall of someone who was already stable financially?
1: Strategy in business is one key factor that when well planned, articulated and put to action does make for  an increased productivity in business and any strategy that is not inline with the kind of business you are dealing with will end up bringing you losses. So sometimes when people that were doing so well financially start reducing to nothing then it's not just that they failed to strategize perhaps it could be that they put forward a wrong strategy as  financial plan.

2: Yes, failure to put more effort to keep maintaining their financial status could be one reason for a financial downfall of an individual. There's so much competition within the business environment and any one that slacks in effort is giving room to the upliftment of another at their own peril. It's just like the saying goes "if you snooze you lose".

2573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gates of olympus on: December 08, 2022, 06:48:13 AM
Gates of Olympus, also known as Grandpa Zeus slots or Olympus slots, is a slot game released by Pragmatic Play that is the most popular in my country. Grandpa Zeus slots are one of the most popular games released by Pragmatic Play. This game with the theme of Greek gods and goddesses, especially the god Zeus, has very charming graphics. If you try the Olympus game as the main online game, there are many things you should know.
1. Symbol: The shape of the symbol that will appear in the Olympus slot Amount
2. Symbol: The number of symbols that must appear in one turn of the duck slot to get a win
3. Multiples of Winning: The number of multiples of the bet used that you will win my question here

1 Do you have games like in my country in your country

2, is this game easier than what I imagined?
I would have much appreciated appreciated if you had made the name of your country known or did you intentionally decided to keep it hidden just to have us do a guess work about it. With the pictorial descriptions on the theme  of this game as given by you about the god zues I think this particular slot game must be very interesting and I look forward to give it a try that's if it's accessible from my own part of the country.
Finally, the thing is, slot games are never easier but just a game predicated on luck as you can spin a thousand times with no single win while another person can just get a win with their first spin. So I can't imagine slot games to be an easier game

2574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Describe what Bitcoin has done for you on: December 07, 2022, 08:13:15 PM
Bitcoin has made a great impact in the lives of many people all over the world, youths especially as long as I know. I could remember having my money all starched in my bank accounts only just to be receiving different debit alerts of ATM maintenance, federal government electronic charge and all others every month end without a profit added. When I got about bitcoin and got involved with a little token for the start the profit it accrued to me at that time was unbelievably true to me
What I did was to waste no time but accumulate more. And I must confess I have really benefited much than when my money were all starched up in bank.

And one special thing I like about bitcoin is the non interference by any government authority which is something to be proud of bitcoin about. As my finance is well controlled by me alone

2576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or altcoin? on: December 07, 2022, 12:37:40 PM
Leaving sentiments asides, will you advise someone to still buy some Bitcoins (Not up to the value of 1)  if they have an amount of money that will be okay to purchase the equivalent of 1 of a good altcoin with a strong community? Is having some bitcoins (in decimals) more valuable still than having the value of one good altcoin?
Taking sentiment away and bringing in rationality into this option I'll advise the person to buy bitcoin any day anytime. Buying altcoin is like jumping into gambling and gambling is quite different from business or investment, and if that's your mindset for buying any coin then altcoin should be an option, as it lacks security and assurance, it's like taking chances in a dark corner as the possibility of an altcoin to rise in value is like 1/10  and in recent times we have witnessed the inevitable collapse of many of these altcoins just within a just period of gaining some value unlike bitcoin that have shown how sturdy it's financial security is while other coins fade away.

In conclusion, it is better to have patient with bitcoin than doing so with altcoin cause you can even wait endlessly and nothing profitable will come out of it, just like Luna case.
2577  Economy / Economics / Re: Is recession coming actually? on: December 06, 2022, 09:43:24 PM
I am quite new to the crypto, investing, economy and all that...so far really got interested in about a year ago. So far what I see is lots of lack of similarities in opinions of youtubers, blogers and mass media. Some sources are shouting like creasy that a great recession is coming and it will hurt everyone so bad like never did. More moderate youtubers are doing some analysis and basically what they saying is, well there could be recession, and that is ok, this is how you get markets cleaned up. And there is third part that says, no everything is ok... unemployment is high, GDP is rising so technically we are not in a recession.

So the question is, what is going on there, are we really heading to recession? (or this is how markets work, so that people always speculate? )
If I should be sincere with you then I would tell you we are already into the recession and we are all pretending like it's still yet to come while it's already with us. Every government is just managing to buckle up and patching their loopholes so it citizens doesn't feel the effect of the recession so hard but for how long can they hold. Look at the prices of commodities in the market topping up speedily on a daily , unemployment soaring high even as those employed are being layed off cause the companies can't bear the cost of their numbers.

Time is of the essence so before things go worse you better get yourself prepared by engaging yourself into
sources of multiplee streams of income as to meet up with the hikes of standard of living cause we're already in the start of a recession.

I never got to know about bitcoin that earlier checking from the year you mentioned  but am just   wondering how much you really got from your uncle for it to have yeild that amount.
Do millionaires still go after bounty hunting or is it that this very millionaire just love bounty Hunting as a hobby. Anyways congrats that your investment payed out only that your risk you took with someone else's money like your uncle was one the man himself wouldn't have understood despite any language you would have used to explain to him if the investment went bad. Cause from your story am sure you never explained to your uncle that the bitcoin market also has a bitter outcome just as it has a sweet one too.

2580  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there best way to seek people's attention on bitcoin? on: December 06, 2022, 10:02:46 AM
You not having a bitcoin of your own is enough discouragement to those you seem to have the supposed intention of talking to or introducing bitcoin to them. Make yourself a practical  testimony of that which you want others to get themselves involved in.
I will advise you to focus on owning or hodl a bitcoin of your own, you can decide to trade or invest either long term or short and allow the results to speak for you.

I remember at first when I started my journey into bitcoin, for me it was like me just having to try something new as a fresh graduate with no job at the  time but then with time I was making some profits that put me on a different level with my colleagues/friends that we all graduated together that weren't working just like me then,  so they had to approach me themselves to enquire about what am into that I am doing someworth better than them cause it's obvious am not yet with a job so what's the secret
Now that was when I had to explain to them about bitcoin and the little profits am making out of it to support myself.

So OP its a good thing you know about bitcoin, so focus on yourself and every other things will fall into place about you wanting to catch the attention of your friends about bitcoin.
