IF .bit ever amounts to anything you can rest assure that Google will become the Google of .bit  Tongue

I'm already 10% shareholder and working for CoinConnect - http://www.coinconnect.org/ - a kind of Facebook competitor.  I also thought of the idea behind the first '.bit' proxy search engine '.bit' websites list website - http://www.bitviewer.net/  Although great thanks to Cablepair for building it all I just come up with the initial idea behind the proxy website.  Internet start-ups have to start somewhere those two projects and my other projects are going to hopefully work towards me making a living from Bitcoin  Smiley

Cool ideas, I wish the best of luck to you.

Cheers man but I couldn't have done any of it without Cablepair.  We just met at the right time as I can help him with his many projects and he can help realize my brainstom of the '.bit' proxy search engine website which he solely built and designed from my initial ruff ideas.
2562  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Using Bitcoin to secure the web (DNS) on: March 01, 2012, 08:13:17 PM
Now that the internet is essentially compromised (http://blog2.easydns.org/2012/02/29/verisign-seizes-com-domain-registered-via-foreign-registrar-on-behalf-of-us-authorities/ )
I am wondering if we could re purpose bit coin to secure DNS. The idea is that the domain is the currency and the transfers to IPs are akin to the currency changing hands.

In this way we can digitally secure a domain name.

Just a thought.

This is called NameCoin isn't it?
2563  Economy / Securities / Re: Red Star Mining IPO GLBSE Listing 3x'BFL Single' 2.5GH/s@450W on: March 01, 2012, 07:48:04 PM
Well they have taken my money all I can do is hope they stick to their promise of six to eight weeks delivery as they stated.

I'm curious where this was stated, can you link me?  They were telling people 3-4 weeks last year for orders that still haven't been delivered.  You have read the various BFL threads and are aware of the delivery delays, right?  From reading over your thread, you make it sound like you'll have these units hashing away soon.  I hope you & your investors realize it could be several months before this equipment is received.

"Order Terms

Delivery: Units are guaranteed to be shipped within four to six weeks from the date of purchase. However, your delivery time may be significantly less depending on the production group your order falls in.

Worldwide delivery is available at standard priority courier rates from Kansas City, Missouri in the United States to your destination. US department of commerce export control restrictions prohibit the sale of these devices to AT designated countries.

Product includes: Fully assembled unit with Enclosure, USB Cable, PSU & driver software (including Bitcoin block mining application)."

If the unit has not been delivered by the 1st of April a quick vote will be held on whether to put a dispute in with PayPal for return of the funds.  Then we will look into ZTEX USB-FPGA Module's - http://www.ztex.de/.

What happens if Butterfly Labs just comes up with a bankruptcy/receivership announcement?

Well I have forty-five days to put in a dispute with PayPal for return of the funds.
2565  Economy / Securities / Re: Red Star Mining IPO GLBSE Listing 3x'BFL Single' 2.5GH/s@450W on: March 01, 2012, 07:28:02 PM
I hope you are right.

Well they have took the money I have also emailed them today with the PayPal purchase order number asking them when the unit will be shipped.  I will announce their reply hear, on the company blog - http://redstarmining.blogspot.com/ - and in the Red Star CoinConnect group - http://www.coinconnect.org/groups/profile/13713/red-star-mining.  The order was made last Friday (24/02/12) so hopefully it will be another five weeks maximum until the first unit is shipped.  By then the IPO should have continued enough to purchase unit two I will only put in an order for unit two and three once I have a shipping number.

nice hopefully we get it in 3 weeks

I'm hoping my order comes sometime soon as well.  Unfortunately, orders submitted in November of 2011 still haven't been delivered, so I wouldn't put too much faith in BFL Singles arriving for any recently submitted orders anytime soon.

Well they have taken my money all I can do is hope they stick to their promise of six to eight weeks delivery as they stated.

What happens if Butterfly Labs just comes up with a bankruptcy/receivership announcement?

I very doubt that will happen as they have got more orders then they can handle.  All I could do is try to get our money back yes there are some risks involved but that is why I'm offering the potential of the highest MH/s per share and MH/s per BTC invested of any GLBSE traded mining company in my IPO.

If I can get one and get it to work I might use a RaspberryPi - http://www.raspberrypi.org/ - $35 very low power ARM PC to run the ASIC/FPGA boards.
2572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RaspberryPi (PC for $25) and LiteCoin mining on: March 01, 2012, 05:38:34 PM
The announcement for Raspberry Pi's has been made, and the waiting lists for orders are open.

Kool can't wait for the hash-rate to be announced if it's worth it I'll get a 'farm' of them to go with my ASIC/FPGA farm I'm building Wink  At the least I could use one of these low power RaspberryPi to run the boards Smiley

I've already thought of a '.bit' proxy website - http://www.bitviewer.net/index.php - and I'm getting it made into a proxy website search engine too plus a list of popular good '.bit' websites will eventually be listed on the proxy website homepage as well.

If anyone has a decent '.bit' site and they want it linking on the proxy website homepage and especially if you are willing to pay per click then please get in touch get in touch with me or Cablepair.  You could probably arrange it through 'Anonymous Ads' too.
2577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New '.bit' NMC proxy website on: March 01, 2012, 02:04:56 PM
... modications ...
That word is misspelled on your website. It should be "medications" or "modifications", according to what you are trying to say.

It's a great service. I think you should add a block of links to functioning .bit websites, so that people can easily see that there is good content on .bit.

Then, in the future, you can sell these links as ads, instead of providing them for free.

If anyone has a decent '.bit' site and they want it linking on the proxy website homepage and especially if you are willing to pay per click then please get in touch get in touch. with me or Cablepair.  You could probably arrange it through 'Anonymous Ads' too.

I think the dev is working on a '.bit' search engine as well but listing links is a good idea.  I didn't make any of the site it was just my idea and gave it to Cablepair to develop for me in his spare time  Smiley
