2561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hit And Run Gambling - Can The House Be Beaten This way? on: January 29, 2023, 03:40:23 AM
Lol, Am gone through every comment and I must say that i enjoyed the the conversation so far,
To add, i personally know that the scenarios i mentioned is (though very possible to happen) unlikely, at least, I know a someone who won close to $7000 on his second day of gambling, he started the first day and gambled away $15, after about 2 weeks, he came back to the same casino, deposited $100 and started playing one of this pragmatic games, betting random amount on each round of the game, he got luck and won over 15 free rounds, through this rounds, he won several  multipliers and that was how he's total winning amount to $6,879, that is a lot of money if converted to my countries currency, I advised him to withdraw that money and start a business with it, and forget about gambling, he did obey, started a business but later went into gambling again without me knowing, I only got to know that he went back to gambling when I saw that he's business wasn't doing well as it suppose, I tried inquiring from him what's going on, he later opened up to me that he lost over $2000 on sports betting some weeks back, and the loss is affecting his business.

This was how the idea of this thread came by.
Sorry to say this, but your friend was greedy and paid the price for his greediness... He should have been thankful for his lucky, that allowed him to collect an enough budget to start his own business. From that moment on, he just needed to focus on his business, like you advised him.

However, businesses' profit come slower, so patience is required. Maybe he got excited about the previous winnings at the casino and compared to the income he was making through his business and decided to continue gambling for fast profits, what inevitably resulted in losses after a while.

Now let's hope he can get aware of his mistakes and save his business while there is still time (and money) left.
2562  Economy / Economics / Re: In your country, today is money the real root of all evil? on: January 29, 2023, 03:18:15 AM
Money is not the source of evil; rather, it is human minds. Humans are ungrateful because we never seem to be satisfied with our money and assets. Money is a tool that people use to exert power over their surroundings, yet everything is actually caused by the mind.
The corruption of human's nature leads the world to the moral, ethical and spiritual ruin since the beginning of the times. People have the wrong impression money causes people to be evil, but money has actually nothing to do with this. I believe people have that concept because the ones who are at the top and key positions in the world act in disgusting ways, so they think the elites are evil because money corrupted them, otherwise they wouldn't be successful. In fact, the elites would be evil anyway. If they didn't use money, they certainly would have another tool under their disposal to reach their goals.

Unfortunatelly, it makes some sense to say that the most unscrupulous ones are more skilled in accumulating fortune. At same time it shouldn't mean people who twalk through an honest path can't thrive in life.
2563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin with Utility or Coin without any Utility? on: January 29, 2023, 02:09:30 AM
How to stop that kind of scam? And what is the proper way to save the Newbie from the honeypot?[/i]
If you can't make proper analysis of cryptocurrencies in order to reach a conclusion of which of them you should acquire and hold, just invest in bitcoin. It's the surest alternative among all cryptos disponible on this market. You don't have to worry about the coin's legitimacy, development and potential, because all these aspects have already passed successfully the test of time. That is the only way to save yourself from scams, without further knowledge of cryptocurrencies.
2564  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: January 29, 2023, 01:03:35 AM
I personally perceived freebitcoin only as a faucet when I first learned about this site. I remember freebitcoin had a lot of advertising banners, and I guess this type of advertising was one of the main sources of its income at that time. So the fact that freebitcoin managed to grow from a regular faucet to a gambling site with a multimillion audience is really impressive.
That's actually true, freebitcoin is one of the longest running faucet out here on the crypto market and by far the most successful one. If you're one of the users of freebitcoin way back, you'll know how high the coins they are giving out as it was based on the price of bitcoin. I remember that the highest jackpot was around 1 bitcoin and I'm not sure if anyone was able to receive that.
Anyways, as far as I know, fb has always been a gambling/faucet platform since the multiply dice game has always been there.
I think base reward for faucet before was around 300-400 satoshis hourly. It's about 0,06$-0,09$ hourly in currently rates just by using this single faucet. They were one of the most rewarding faucets during the golden era of fauceting.

By using a few dozen of faucets hourly it was possible to build big income thinking on long term. For who didn't have money to invest in crypto, it was the perfect beginning. That was the kind of opportunity which isn't available these days anymore for the newbies of our present time.
2565  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there gambling games/sports that suits a particular gender the more? on: January 29, 2023, 12:09:30 AM
Women are famous to mainly play slot games, Moon Princess from Play'n Go and Starlight Princess from Pragmatic Play seem to have been made to suit this gender for example, but ladies are also known to enjoy playing lotteries, bingo along with poker. While classic table card games like blackjack and baccarat are mostly played by men. Roulette and craps are more neutral and randomly played by both genders IMO.
Although masculine gender is more present in every forms of gambling games, I agree with you that we can find women gambling more frequently at slot-machines, lottery and bingo games. And by my experience, I see the overwhelming majority of them is composed by old ladies. I don't see many young women gambling, with the exception of the female streamers. Nevertheless, they aren't mainly gambling, but exhibiting their physical attributes to the audience, so I think it's not possible to take them as an wide sample.
2566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: what do you expect from cryptocurrency? on: January 28, 2023, 11:36:09 PM
Whether it is bitcoin or altcoins, my choice is to accumulate as much possible, because the variation in the market will be big in no time compared to that of other form of investments. Holding as much possible and keeping ourselves for the worst scenario is my way of expectancy.
You can always increase your profitability potential by choosing only worthful cryptocurrencies, instead of holding any of them, just to grow the number of coins and tokens in your wallet. If you get rid of shitcoins by swaping them into something substantial like bitcoin, ethereum or other promising altcoin which has great potential for the next bull run, you will see returns will be much more satisfactory, while investors who insist in altcoins which work based on pump and dump schemes will see those tokens performing poorly even during a bull market.

What do you expect from micro earnings' industry in 2023?

Is there any hope this niche of crypto universe will retrieve its popularity from previous years? What could be done or what should happen for micro earnings' tasks become demanded by enthusiasts once again?

2568  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Power Slap League on: January 28, 2023, 10:27:56 PM
Who didn’t hear or watch at least one video about Dana white’s latest show which called The Power Slap League that started this new year of 2023, the rules of this sport are easy and simple where both competitors taking turns trying to knock each other out in order to win
There is a lot of talking about it lately about the low payout of Ufc boss to the participants of this tournament which goes to only 3200£ a Fight while he might be generating millions of dollars of it, But my topic here i want it to be about betting on this new sport and tournament which i still didn’t see any bookmaker announcing anything about this matter, And in my opinion it’s a lot of fan and as any fighting sport there is always bookmakers that will eventually include Power Slap League and allow people to bet on their favorite fighters.
This is something i wouldn't recommend anyone trying for even a laugh. I have a history in training self defence and i have been in rough situations. Even in "friendly" combat i've gotten head injury, broken ribs, bruises, broken joints and so far in those everything has healed.

Then i tried power slap for a laugh with my friend. I don't know why, maybe to probe manliness or impress girls. We managed just to look stupid. I panicked on third slap, turned my face away and my friend managed to hit on my ear. It broke my eardrum and got me loud tinnitus and hearing loss for life. It's one of the few things i really really regret trying. There's no such thing as silence for me anymore. If i had a time machine and one advice to give to younger me. Not ever trying power slap would be high on the list.
That is really a sad story, I'm sorry for that. Sad
This "sport" is indeed very harmful to the players' health, because it's all about being constantly and accurately hit on the head. Every fights' sports cause sequels to athletes on long run, but in Slaps' tournaments the damage is much more intense, severe and not even need to reach the long term to face them, just like in your personal story. I believe there are lots of criticisms inside sports' industry regards this activity, difficulting its introduction to the gambling scene.
2569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hit And Run Gambling - Can The House Be Beaten This way? on: January 28, 2023, 08:29:28 PM
Imagine yourself as a new gambler who just joined a casino, played a few dollars and with luck on your side, you win money running into thousands of dollars, will withdrawing your money plus winnings from that casino, never to return there to play again, mean you have beaten that casino?
The casino can't be beaten. It means you retreated in time of not being beaten by the casino.

Secondly, imagine that on your first day of gambling, you gambled $200 and in the process, won money running into hundreds of thousands of dollars, you withdraw the money and start up your own business, and never returned to gambling again, isn't this one way to beat the house?
I believe it's the same above situation. You retreated in time and made good us of the money won. It's even possible to keep coming back to the casino to gamble, using the profit from your business (which you own due to the winnings made from the casino), without being beaten by the house, although you are never able to beat them too!
2570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Celsius won $4.2B worth of customers funds on: January 28, 2023, 07:28:25 PM
is there no way possible whatsoever for the customer to get back their money?
No. Scammers have permission from the judge to continue using depositors' funds to run their operations. Their strategy is to milk most money as possible paying their own wages as company's employees, so once the deadline for the recovery is over, there will be only pennies left for creditors. If the judge had decided the opposite then it would have been possible to retrieve funds partially. But that is not the case, so next time better to avoid these platforms.
The users of those platforms really need to read what kind of terms they are accepting when they sign up to them, they basically gave their funds away to Celsius and while it is completely unfair, the law only cares about what is legal and not about the unfairness of the situation, and I hope anyone which has not suffered because of something similar looks at this example and learns from it, as this is much cheaper than the alternative.
And that is not an exclusivity of Celsius. Any crypto lending platform or exchange going bankrupt would lead investors and customers (unsecured creditors) to the same infamous fate. There isn't any insurance program which covers users from crypto platforms in case of bankruptcies, with the exception of Nexo, maybe, which claims to be insured up to 250$ million dollars.

However, before this scandal I thought these platforms were safe to invest, since they are regulated businesses, therefore the justice would stay by the side of the victims. After all, it's also a good lesson that we shouldn't act expecting the law forces are going to save our skin in case something goes wrong. In fact, it's more likely the opposite happens.
2571  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will Sam Bankman-Fried go to jail? on: January 28, 2023, 06:47:34 PM
At this point, it feels like he won't go to jail. Feels like everyone is covering for him. I think he might manage to pay some users back before the trial so they will go easy on him. But I want to see this dude in jail cos if he will be out, he will make FTX 2.0 in no time.

Sam Bankman-Fried would go to jail because many of his accomplices are willing to testify against him in court. And I am sure that they have various documents or facts that can serve as concrete evidence. But his incarceration won't be long because he might not serve the entire prison term. It is possible he might be released on parole or might just get a presidential pardon.
Someone who steals 8$ billion dollars doesn't go to jail. That is enough wealth to bribe a lot of people in key positions and to acquire a lot of influence on the case. What could make the difference, like in every judicial cases, was a close and real time coverage from the media, 24/7 on news, but since it's not happening, most people don't even know about this theft, therefore popular indignation and demand for the arrest of criminals is low in society.
2572  Economy / Economics / Re: Success is fundamentally determined by luck, not effort. on: January 28, 2023, 06:16:20 PM
They've set very good examples to me, including my father, and now I tend to focus more on work itself consistently and let luck or fate takes the rest.
I believe hardworking, focus and persistence attract luck or I could say gifts of God. If you do your part, God will do his, and will reward you for all your effort with achievements and a dignified, respectful life. Like we were talking about it on another thread, there is some mistery on it we can't say exactly why things happen the way they happen, and then to simplify things we call it luck. Anyway, without dedication there isn't luck which last for too long, so there aren't shortcuts, and those trying to cheat universal laws are going to get burned really bad.
2573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who else have my kind of mindset for Bitcoin 2023 on: January 28, 2023, 05:52:29 PM
2023 has come to renew our hopes after a harsh year that was 2022. I believe 2023 is a year of preparations for something big that is about to happen soon, boosting crypto market to fresh levels never seen before in history. It might be a final test for investors where only those who don't give up on their optimism will remain on the game. The market and especially the whales are testing us all the time, playing with our emotions and sentiments. This year it shouldn't be different. All we have to do is to keep strong in our purpose of holding bitcoin, doesn't matter how difficult it looks momentarily. Remember the transition to a new cycle of prosperity must be near!
2574  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Medical student wins lottery 5 times after embezzling graduation funds on: January 28, 2023, 05:40:22 PM
I tried to search more on this case but found nothing new, no updates on the story. Maybe it's because I don't speak Portuguese, and it's more of a local news there. Anyway, it would be interesting to read not only updates, but a more detailed account of this one.

I'd like to find out what were her motives. Was she religious? Or, did she think she knows how to win the lottery?
If I have access to something new, I will post here. There isn't much else to say yet, because this case is happening in real time. Investigations are happening on this exact moment and all her personal items, like electronic devices and vehicle have been seized by the police for analysis of further evidences if she acted by herself or if there are partners involved. Accounts were also blocked.

Too little was said about the personality of the woman. It was said she is a very intelligent person, although being private and quiet, doesn't share details of her personal life with classmates.

It's a shame on her that she used her classmates' money to gamble and lost it.
Just think how hard they must be earning the money and paying for the graduation fees.
How can she even think of betraying her classmates and their emotions and especially their studies.
I hope the police takes strict action against her and makes her pay all the funds lost.
She must be imprisoned and pay for her mistakes.
Now imagine such an irresponsible and egoistical person was going to graduate and become a medical to take care of human lives. Imagine the kind of professional she was going to be...
2575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Medical student wins lottery 5 times after embezzling graduation funds on: January 28, 2023, 02:44:11 AM
It intrigues me she was able to place a bet without paying it immediately. I believe the lottery's owner was used to her going there everyday placing huge bets, so he gave her that credit. Since she didn't win, she just didn't come back anymore...

Still does not make much sense to me to be honest.
Would you give credit to someone who you know is gambling recklessly and is already out of money? I would not.
I would make an exception if the person provided some collateral and the sum of debt was relatively small, but we are talking of 5 figures here.  Roll Eyes

I would not even give that much credit to people who is part of my family, let alone a woman who has proven herself to have problems. Shameful.
I think the lottery's owner didn't know she had ran out of money yet, until she didn't come back anymore. It seems there was a solid routine of bets everyday and even though she was losing, she continued gambling, until the last day. I don't know what must have passed through the lottery owner's mind, but I guess he was confortable with the young lady's frequent activity on his shop.

Maybe he thought she was laundering money, so the prizes weren't exactly her final goal?

There is also the possibility it wasn't about addiction, but a dumb plan she saw on the internet gambling gurus promoting it's guaranteed to win if you have a lot of money to "invest".
2576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Medical student wins lottery 5 times after embezzling graduation funds on: January 28, 2023, 02:25:16 AM
More importantly, why trust graduation funds to a student? This is the first time I saw a student able to access a graduation fund. Regardless of the student's status or let's say she is a top notcher, any related to graduations shouldn't be handled by a student.
Because students contribute to this fund periodically, probably every month. They compose a comission with few members chosen by themselves to manage the fund. It's their responsability to keep their own money safe for the graduation's expenses. I believe other people wouldn't want to be responsible for keeping it.

Complete insanity, not only because the fact she was using other's money to gamble but also she managed to turn an important sum of cash into a higher amount debt, who in the world even consider to accept credit from someone who is this chronically affected by gambling addiction? goes beyond common sense.
It intrigues me she was able to place a bet without paying it immediately. I believe the lottery's owner was used to her going there everyday placing huge bets, so he gave her that credit. Since she didn't win, she just didn't come back anymore...
2577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin gaining this much fame despite it's restrictions? on: January 27, 2023, 11:33:18 PM
Bitcoin, being decentralized and the promotion of pseudo-anonymity is one of the factors why users are getting interested in using Bitcoin.  Another reason why Bitcoin become popular or continue to have fame is that it disrupts the financial system by allowing borderless transfers with cheaper fee because of the no-need of 3rd party financial institution to process the transaction.

It is also gaining fame because of its capability of financial inclusion in countries where underbanked and unbanked people are rampant.  Bitcoin helped them to participate in the country economy by enabling these people to transact online.
All these factors contribute for bitcoin adoption and popularity increasement, however I think the main reason why bitcoin got so popular for real was due to its massive rise in price since the creation of the digital currency until nowadays. Most people don't care a lot about privacy or decentralization. All they want is to achieve better financial conditions, so they can have access to goods and services they couldn't before, and also the possibility of making their dreams come true.
2578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Approximately 384 Days until the next Bitcoin halving on: January 27, 2023, 10:33:27 PM
I believe most of us are eagerly waiting for Bitcoin halving since it is a sign for a possible Bitcoin rally.  Almost every Bitcoin-halving event, the market are getting hyped because of the thinking of getting less supply from the mining activity.  Aside from that Bitcoin-halving is always followed by bitcoin price uptrend activities which end in breaking the old ATH and creating a new one.

There's certainty that there's going to be a bullrun in the year 2024 during the halving period but before that time comes, we are not sure of the exact month this may fall into but likely within the first four months of the year 2024, also there's going to be a high volatility in bitcoin price whereby we may experience dip and bull at the same time especially when getting close, the more our chances of making profits if we invest now on bitcoin and hodl for the next bullrun targeted on the coming halving, which means there's no fear for missing out no matter how when that time comes.
I don't have doubts that there is certainly going to have a bull run by 2024. But I think it's better to expect it not during the halving but after the halving period of time. And much better to compare it for most of the past bull runs wherein, the bull run took place after a year of the bull run.
2016 halving ~> 2017 bull run
2020 halving ~> 2020 bull run
2024 halving ~> 20?? bull run

I am assuming that 2025 will be the greater year than of 2024 but, it's very highly likely that we also see the pumps for most of the crypto market by that year.

Many are anticipating that the new ATH will possibly happen in 2025 so yeah, the expectation may create hype and possibly a market pump.
I think it will depend on how bitcoin is going to behave by the end of 2023. If bitcoin cross some upper levels yet above 30,000$ and 40,000$, I guess the real bull run which should drive BTC to a new ATH won't take too long to start, so it could happen still in 2024. To have ATH in 2025 only, I believe bitcoin should have a poor performance in 2023, what so far isn't happening and I hope it won't!
2579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Medical student wins lottery 5 times after embezzling graduation funds on: January 27, 2023, 10:14:47 PM
Didn’t know lottery can also be addicting when it fact you can place a bet on a minimal amount, wondering if she really cheated on that lottery system or she is just lucky to win 5 times and unfortunately lose everything again. Well, this is still gambling and probably she is with someone doing this thing. Using others money for your gambling activities is not good at all, avoid this at all cost and stay responsible.
She placed expensive bets, because she was trying to maximize the odds at her favour per ticket. The game she played is named Lotofácil (easy lotto).

It's possible to bet between 15 and 20 numbers per ticket (the more numbers you pick, the more expensive it's going to be the ticket). Most expensive ticket, containing 20 numbers, costs about 7750$.

If you match 11 numbers per ticket, you already guarantee a 1$ prize. 12 numbers give 2$, 13 numbers give 5$ and then for 14 and 15 numbers matched the prize isn't fixed, but its average is 272$ per 14 numbers matched and 160.000$ per 15 numbers matched (jackpot).

There are many sites on the internet teaching how to win on this lottery, as if it were possible to make it in a safe way. I guess the student must have had access to such websites and thought she could make it work. Tongue

Winning chance playing with 20 numbers (7750$ ticket):

11 numbers matched: 1 chance in 2,6 (prize 1$)
12 numbers matched: 1 chance in 3,9 (prize 2$)
13 numbers matched: 1 chance in 4,2 (prize 5$)
14 numbers matched: 1 chance in 17 (prize 272$)
15 numbers matched: 1 chance in 211 (prize 160.000$)

Imagine a student being exposed into gambling, I don’t know her exact age but the lottery should assess that girl first before allowing here to place a bet, this is very unfortunate to ruin her own reputation and her future. The authority and her parents should help her recover from this trauma and addiction. Gambling is not good at all if its already too much and if the money you are using is not yours, this could be a big lesson to everyone.
25 years old woman.

This makes me conclude that success is a mystery, yet I will always encourage people to make effort by giving it all it takes to succeed and letting fate do the rest.
That is actually right. Success is a mistery, therefore there isn't a perfect recipe to follow with the assurance you will reach there. What plays a big role in successful stories is to be on the right place at the right time, and that is something we can't control or predict.

I believe we just have to do our part, putting good will and effort on everything we plan and execute, with the hope we will be rewarded later for our merits.

And always aware that not every single person who is successful in life have achieved it honorably and rightfully. These people are dangerous, because they serve as mirrors for weak minds to follow a dark path aiming to reach the same status futurely, but then there is no merit on it after all.
