2561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: are crypto owners naturally paranoid? on: November 14, 2021, 06:53:53 AM
Taking care of your wealth doesn't mean that you are paranoid. Grin
I've heard many horror stories about people, who got scammed by centralized cryptocurrency exchanges and online crypto wallets. Not you keys, not your coins.
If you own a small amount of crypto, keeping it in a crypto exchange or online wallet is OK.If you are HODLing a large amount of crypto, then having a cold wallet and keeping your private keys is a must.
I'm "paranoid" even when it comes to keeping my fiat money in my bank account.I've never had any problems with my bank so far,but you never know what's gonna happen.
2562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sky Vegas could face legal action due to promotional emails on: November 12, 2021, 11:42:07 AM
I think that this is definitely a big mistake made by someone working at the marketing team of Sky Vegas.
However, going to court against a casino just because they sent you a promotional email?Really?
If a guy has truly recovered from his gambling addiction, would a simple email incentivize him to become addicted again? If I was a former gambling addict and I was completely done with gambling,NO email from any casino in the world would convince me to start gambling again.
I think that probably someone is looking for an excuse to sue a casino and get some "easy money" out of his "gambling addiction".
2563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Insight into German's loosened restrictions (hopefully) on: November 12, 2021, 07:06:27 AM
The gamblers are going to gamble, with or without restrictions.
Putting too much restrictions opens the door for the black unregulated market.I wonder why the German government did this mistake.Maybe there are too many old politicians and clerks, who are thinking "gambling bad,we should ban gambling" without any analysis of the possible damages to the industry and the gamblers.
It's way better for a gambler to gamble in a regulated and legit offline casino, rather than going into some unregulated casino, which is controlled by mobsters, where the risk of being scammed and financially exploited is huge.
2564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taproot will follow segwit pump on: November 12, 2021, 06:46:53 AM
The "Segwit pump" wasn't caused by Segwit only. There were other factors pumping the Bitcoin price back then.
90% of the Bitcoiners don't care about Segwit or Taproot. They only care about the Bitcoin price.
Maybe there will be some short term hype arround Taproot, which might cause the BTC price to go up,but I think that the hype will be temporary and it won't lead to a significant and stable price increase.
The scaling debate was just an excuse for Roger Ver and other pseudo-Bitcoiners to push their forked pseudo Bitcoin garbage, like BCH,BSV,etc.I don't even remember the names of those forked "Bitcoins".
2565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do We Embrace Sidechains? on: November 11, 2021, 11:43:27 AM
I think that the crypto community is still neutral towards sidechain projects.
Most of the Bitcoiners have a "let's wait and see what happens" mindset, when it comes to such projects.
If the sidechain projects become successful, that's great. If the projects turn out to be a failure, that's no big deal. The Bitcoin Core blockchain won't be damaged by this.
Overall, there's something to gain and nothing to lose for the Bitcoin community.
Sidechains can bring new and useful features to the table.
2566  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What if Covid 19 broke the 4 year market cycle? on: November 11, 2021, 11:17:53 AM
The pandemic had influenced the crypto market back in March 2020,when everyone on the markets(both stock and crypto) was panicking and the BTC price want down pretty fast, but it recovered fast as well.
There's was other influence of COVID over the Bitcoin price ever since.
Perhaps the 2020 US stimulus checks had some impact over the Bitcoin price, but that impact cannot be measured.
All the lockdowns caused by COVID had zero impact over the Bitcoin price and there will be no more lockdowns, due to the high vaccination levels.
The 4 year Bitcoin market cycle(if such cycle really exists, which is debatable) was definitely NOT broken by the pandemic.
2567  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks will die crypto will take over in 5-10 years on: November 11, 2021, 06:48:45 AM

Why ? They are starting to ask to many personal questions and monitoring people like they are criminals / terrorists etc ...even if they are not ...

Centralized cryptocurrency exchanges are going to do the exact same thing, because they will be forced by the crypto regulations.
Perhaps the crypto users will dump all centralized exchanges and focus on peer-to-peer transactions, decentralized exchanges and using privacy coins.
Banks will most likely never die. They might become obsolete at some point in the distant future, but I'm sure that they will continue to exist in the next decades or even centuries.
Who is going to give out loans, when there are no banks? What will replace the loan system?Cryptocurrency loans aren't that good, due to the price volatility and high interest rates.
Life wasn't "normal" before 2001.It depends of which part of the world were you living back then.
Life was really shitty in Eastern Europe during the 90s.

2568  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stardust23 - High Paying Casino Platform with Affiliate program open on: November 11, 2021, 06:25:30 AM
Let's assume that the OP isn't a scammer and he wants to build a legit gambling business.
I guess that he is open for criticism and wants to improve his crypto casino.
I won't repeat what other forum members have written about the website design and lack of ToS,FAQ and a gambling license. This is obvious.
I want to talk about the domain name.Stardust23.com is a pretty random domain name for a crypto casino.
It's just too generic.
It seems that OP just wanted to find and buy the cheapest domain name out there.
It seems pretty clear to me that OP doesn't have a budget to start and grow this business.
How the hell can you compete with all the big casinos, that already have big advertising budgets?
2569  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: They will try to stop Bitcoin on: November 11, 2021, 06:07:15 AM
European countries have nothing against Bitcoin. Some of them are against crypto mining, because:
1.Crypto mining isn't "green" enough.
2.Crypto mining uses a lot of energy and there was an energy crisis in Europe. The energy prices are too high, because the wind and solar power facilities don't produce enough energy and the natural gas prices went thru the roof(due to shortage). A lot of the electricity production in Europe is based on burning natural gas.
A possible crypto mining ban in the EU won't affect crypto mining, because the vast majority of the crypto miners are located outside the European Union.
OP,you should stop with the conspiracy theories.Nobody in Europe is trying to stop Bitcoin.

$100,000 is now in clear sight.

Nope.More like 70K,but there will be a price correction after that.100K should be expected in the next years, unless the global "powers that be" decide to ban Bitcoin for some reason.
Now is the time to relax and enjoy the bull run.
I really hope that Elon Musk will shut up and decide not to troll over Bitcoin, like he did during the spring.
China is no longer a FUD factor,so there's nothing to expect from the Chinese Communist Party or the People's Bank of China.
I also hope that the Biden administration and the Federal Reserve won't cause any FUD,at least until the end of this year.
2571  Economy / Economics / Re: Who wants to do what. Jobs or business.. on: November 10, 2021, 07:29:11 AM
Why are you asking this,as if there's a real choice between getting a job and building a business?
Those are two different things.
Do you have any capital to start a business? Can you even start a business with zero capital?
If the answer is NO,then job is your only option.
Having a business means way more responsibilities than having a job, because you are responsible for your employees getting paid. You are also responsible for your customers and delivering what you have promised to them.
Being a businessman requires more energy, better social skills, negotiation skills, building connections, discipline, persistence(when your business isn't getting any profits).
This cannot be compared to having a 9/5 job and executing orders.
2572  Economy / Gambling / Re: Friends.Casino - Industry leading vip program and social network! on: November 10, 2021, 07:07:49 AM
Welcome to the forum.
This looks like a very ambitious project.
Your referral program seems very generous.15EUR per acquired referral is a lot. What are the terms of referral program?I'm sure that the referral will have to deposit money/coins and play for awhile,in order for the affiliate to get any commission.I'm I right?
The amount of games that your casino offers seems pretty impressive.
The "no-wager-bonus" looks very impressive as well. Are you sure that the players won't use your casino only to exploit the bonus system?Bonuses must come with some strings attached and some requirements.
You can't just give without demanding something in return.Otherwise,it sounds too good to be true.
Good luck with this project,OP.

2573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a chance for Bitcoin Recovery? on: November 10, 2021, 06:43:58 AM
What do you mean by "The scammers bought bitcoins from her account and sent her bank account to hell. She was forced to change bank accounts."?
Does she voluntarily let the scammers to buy Bitcoins by using her bank account or she sent them fiat money? Was her bank account hacked? This is confusing.
So you way that she(or the scammers) used fiat money to buy Bitcoin.
There's hope in this case, because there's a possibility that the initial bank transaction can be refunded.
Banks are usually slow at processing such chargeback cases, but they usually decide the case in favor of their customers.
Bitcoin chargeback companies do not exist, because Bitcoin transactions cannot be refunded.
This "crypto chargeback company" in New Jersey is a joke.

2574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No one can continue ignoring Bitcoin on: November 09, 2021, 12:54:55 PM
I still cringe, when I see news about some celebrity getting paid in Bitcoin.I don't know why do I have to cringe.
Maybe I will have to get used to news like these. Grin
Bitcoin is no "magic internet money" anymore.Bitcoin should be treated with respect, like any serious financial asset.
Joe Rogan is a pretty cool guy,but I kinda lost interest for his podcast.Currently, most of his guests aren't that interesting to me.
There's a possibility that he was joking about getting paid in BTC.He was a standup comedian after all.
I know about another former standup comedian having Bitcoins and trading crypto-Chris D'elia. Grin
2575  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tesla accepting Bitcoin payments and ..... Doge ? on: November 09, 2021, 12:26:13 PM
Shiba is a meme coin.Dogecoin is a meme coin as well.
The big joke is that those meme coins have real value on the market.
Elon Musk is a type of guy,who would accept meme coins for his Tesla cars.He wants to prove a point.
Is doesn't matter how ridiculous a financial asset looks like,as long as the people believe in the asset(or the expected future price),the asset will have value on the market. This is basically finance for the fools.
All the "sheep" on the financial market think that a centralized meme coin has value, only because a guy like Elon Musk recommends that coin. This is a joke.
2576  Economy / Economics / Re: Time to foot the bill on: November 09, 2021, 07:20:45 AM
The most qualified people usually work in the private sector. The inflation doesn't matter that much.
I don't know about the qualification of the people working in the US public services, but I'm sure that there will be more money printing, which will help for raising the salaries of public services workers in the US,so that their purchasing power doesn't deteriorate due to the inflation.
Public service workers are usually underpaid in most countries in the world, including my country.
This is bad, because teachers, doctors and policemen are actually really important for the economy of every country. The private sector cannot become effective,if the public sector isn't effective.
2577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: November 09, 2021, 06:59:42 AM
Matches like this one are only for entertainment purposes.
An old boxer versus an amateur, who is more famous as a youtube celebrity, rather than a serious boxer.
This isn't real boxing. This is just a show.
Assuming that the match won't be made up and the two fighters are going to fight for real,I think that Mike Tyson is too old and Logan Paul will win, even though Logan Paul sucks. Grin

Quote
Nobody seems to believe that Mike Tyson is doing it for sports reasons. We all know about his financial troubles. There is no doubt that this whole event is all only about money.
Who wouldn't want to see Mike Tyson in action again? I am sure that if the PPV number from the last event is not exceeded, it will definitely be huge.

Yep,Mike Tyson is doing it for the money,so as every other boxer, even the young professional boxers. Grin
I don't know about any boxer, who would want to fight for free.Boxing can be a dangerous sport, that can potentially cause severe injuries.Boxers have to get paid properly.
2578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin ever get regulated on: November 09, 2021, 06:37:14 AM
In theory,a country can regulate Bitcoin only if all BTC mining facilities get taken under the control by the government of that country. If the government(for example the US government) can control all the nodes of Bitcoin, then Bitcoin can be controlled by that country. However, this is just a theory and it can never happen in reality, because there's no point for a government to start mining a cryptocurrency. The governments have central banks and they can print their own money(or create their own CBDCs).
Bitcoin transactions cannot get regulated, because no centralized authority can decide which transaction should be approved and which one should be declined.
2579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google/bing Ads with Bitcoin ? on: November 08, 2021, 12:03:34 PM
I assume that you want to use some kind of middleman, who will run the Google/Bing Ads accounts for you.
Using a middle man increases the risk of being scammed. You must seek for someone extremely trusted and reputable.
I'm confused. Why can't you just sell your crypto for fiat, get a debit card and use it to buy Google Ads?
Is this so difficult for you?

@jitjitmew1, I can't tell you how effective such advertising is, but I can tell you that anyone who is aware of the dangers that come from such ads uses an adblocker and therefore does not see such ads at all. Scammers are massively taking advantage of Google’s inability or neglect to filter out the good from malicious ads, and this has become one of the main ways to advertise phishing links that gain huge exposure.

If you want to find what you are interested in, visit the Service board and use the search with the keywords "Google ads" - and you will get all the relevant results - and you can repeat the same in the Digital Goods board.

AFAIK,paid ads in search results cannot be blocked by an adblocker.Adblockers work only for banner ads on websites(like Google Adsense ads). However,I might be wrong about this.
Google isn't completely unable to track and block malicious links in their Ads.Actually they are pretty good at this and their rules about landing pages are pretty strict. That's why Google makes billions of dollars every year,by selling ads.If the people didn't trust their ads, they would never click on them and Google wouldn't make any money. Most of their ads are pay-per-click(PPC).
2580  Economy / Speculation / Re: JP Morgan: bitcoin could hit $146,000 on: November 08, 2021, 11:34:56 AM
The JP Morgan guys are acting as "attention whores". Their analysis and BTC predictions are a joke.
They are just trying to get more attention to themselves at this point.I don't know why.Maybe this is some kind of "smoke and mirrors" distraction move, with the sole purpose of getting more eyeballs focused on JP Morgan, while they are working on some hidden agenda.Maybe they want to pump the BTC price even more,by publishing extremely bullish price speculations.
What's the point of making a 73K USD price prediction and then revising that price prediction to 146K USD?
It seems that the first price prediction was completely wrong and guy,who made it must be fired. Grin
I guess that the forum will be filled with more news about JP Morgan in the upcoming weeks. Most of these news will be plain and simple clickbait with no value.
