2561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [AC] Official Asia Coin Revival | Hard Fork and Voiding Pre-Mine on: May 05, 2014, 03:28:43 PM
AsiaCoin Reverse-Scam

The aim of the project is to remove the premined coins. We have developers onboard to do this and work is already underway.

Background: AsiaCoin was launched as a coin with high potential, but the developer had hidden a code inside that hid a significant amount of pre-mine. This was made public earlier, and now the community is trying to revive AsiaCoin, with the support of its members and those who invested in AsiaCoin, to fix the issue, and relaunch the coin with a hard fork. Cryptsy has already risen voice that they are willing to list AC again, if the premine issue is fixed.

You can visit http://cryptosteam.com/ for a list of people who lost their AC, there are a significant amount of money and investment at stake. If you want to be added to the list, send a PM to CryptoSteam.

As the developers are working on the issue, we welcome new developers who are interested (we need you), but also we need help with other aspects of the revival, such as:

  • New Website (design and hosting): Many thanks volunteers!
  • New Logo: We have one! [link], new ideas/logos also welcome
  • Social Media Activity: I created a new Twitter account for now but we need a couple of people who can be active besides myself

Follow, Retweet, spread the word that AC is not dead.

Like and Share! Let's spread the word!

In case you want to have a look, the source code is available here:

https://github.com/micryon/AsiaCoinFix

I'm fully committed to this, and I will update the OP accordingly for the foreseeable future. Members of the community are also very generous, so if you help us with reviving this project, I am very confident that you will have all of our supports in every way.

Exchanges:

Bter.com
Cryptsy
Mintpal
(all three have confirmed that once we resolve the issue, AC will be relisted)

Multipools:
Pool.mn
(You can already start mining scrypt coins and it will be used to purchase AC when the trades resume)
Obfuscode.Net
(Will start when the issue is fixed)

Donations (BTC): 1FjfP4pRgsjYPQUX5Uep9HMfFw6stsE9G3
Goal: 5 BTC for development, 5 BTC for marketing
Status: 0.00 of 10 BTC
Note: only micryon has access to the coins.

Donations (AC): We will enable AC donations after we fixed the issue.

This thread is NOT self-moderated. We need transparency and trust, but please do not spam as I won't be able to delete them!

I say we start making a list of all the people that own Asiacoins and once the list is finished we as a community decide on a new coin. Everyone can prove how many coins they have with their Asiacoin address, and those Asiacoins you will be replaced with the new coin. It's better use these new developers to create a new coin, than to do a hard fork. We as a community can have polls and decide what coin to create. Anyone with me on this?

Thank you for helping, I was a big holder in Asiacoin and took a heavy loss.
2563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AC]AsiaCoin - Relaunch on: May 05, 2014, 03:54:08 AM
Ok folks. Today I'm offering 0.075 BTC for every 1,000,000 AC that you bring me. Thank to everyone who sold me coins yesterday at the 0.1 BTC to 1,000,000 AC rate. However, I'm going to have to further reduce the price that I will buy these to reflect the increasing risk of the unfolding situation. BTW, minimum order for purchase is 150k AC. Please don't bother me with smaller quantities.

Thank you

I have over 500,000 AC, I spent over $4000 to buy mine, and you want to offer me $168? Seems way too low. Why do you want to buy all the Asiacoins? I'd rather do a trade than sell.

2565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AC]AsiaCoin - Relaunch on: May 03, 2014, 09:26:04 PM
I'm one of the AsiaCoin bagholders. If the dev does not come back with version #2, then we will have to come up with solutions to fix this.

I'm going to start adding names to this list who are bagholders that want this fixed. I'll start with my name.

AsiaCoin Bagholders who wants to see a fix:

CryptoSteam
Nicolaas.R

Add me bluebit25 to the list, I own over 500,000 Asiacoins. I'm here to invest long-term, want to see this coin do well.

2573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AC]AsiaCoin - Version1.0.0.1 Released - Please Upgrade your wallet on: May 01, 2014, 05:56:06 AM
you backup your wallet.dat file just to be sure
but upon updating the wallet you don't have any business in the folder where your coins are stored, you're updating the folder with the qt

what happens if you don't update? And is there a video showing how to update properly?

2575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AC]AsiaCoin - Version1.0.0.1 Released - Please Upgrade your wallet on: May 01, 2014, 04:08:16 AM
Looking forward to the Proof of Stake party! Only a couple of hours to go!

Does the wallet have to be running 24/7 during proof of stake? What happens during proof of stake? and how long is it?
2576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AC]AsiaCoin - Version1.0.0.1 Released - Please Upgrade your wallet on: May 01, 2014, 03:29:14 AM

My wallet is encrypted, so I guess I will then have to open my wallet every day for 2 weeks? Right now my coins are not staked, do they start staking tonight automatically?
[/quote]

no you just need to open it when coins are 2 weeks old and after they stake you can lock it for another 2 weeks
[/quote]

So what you are saying is: Open your wallet, let it sync, then unlock your encrypted wallet, then close your wallet. Don't touch your wallet for 2 weeks, after 2 weeks open your wallet, let it sync, and then lock it?

How much time is left before mining ends?
2578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AC]AsiaCoin - Version1.0.0.1 Released - Please Upgrade your wallet on: May 01, 2014, 03:10:19 AM

How do you stake your coins? What is staking? Sorry, for the question, but I'm a noob.

if your wallet is not encrypted just keep your coins in your wallet and in 2 weeks run the wallet and you will get " interest" on them. If its encrypted you need to run it and unlock it every 2 weeks.

I expect a dip after 2 weeks when the first stakes goes out.

If I'm figuring this correct The stake in 2 weeks will be less than 1/2 of today's mining payout  Wink  and some coins wont even stake as they will be on exchanges instead of wallets.

Today as in 24hrs at the "5000" reward per block level!
