2581  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN fall less than 9K USD! on: February 01, 2018, 08:32:16 PM
There is no need to panic about declining Bitcoin price. It was predictable that the price of Bitcoin would go down after huge grows for a few months. I guess it's high time to buy the dip. Bitcoin should start growing again in the next few days but don't quote me on that. It was a good time to invest in altcoins but now it might be dangerous to do anything.
2582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which coin to dual mine with eth on: February 01, 2018, 06:43:57 PM
I also used to dual mine Ethereum and Decred for a few months but I decided to sell my mining rig. Sia looks like a promising project, its price have been increasing for quite a long time. I'm not sure how new Antminers will affect Sia coin profitability. As far as I know, they are ready to change mining algorithm which would make all these Antminers worthless. Decred seems to be more violate, If I were you I would go for dual mining ETH and SIA.
2583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of Litecoin on: February 01, 2018, 03:59:46 PM
There will be no space for Litecoin in the future anyway so I'm not surprised that its creators has decided to sell his all holdings in LTC. The biggest advantage of Litecoin is that its transactions are cheap and fast but what will happen to it after Lightning Network becomes more popular? LN is much more faster than waiting for a block confirmation and it is far more cheaper. I wouldn't be surprised if LTC and Bcash disappeared in the future.
2584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for old people? on: February 01, 2018, 03:15:51 PM
It might be really difficult for elderly people to understand people. I have talk to many elder people and they couldn't understand the purpose of Bitcoin existence. Most of them was surprised that the money they are using, is in fact worthless. Elder people seem not to understand the inflation and the dangers which come with it. It will be really tough to help elder people switch to cryptocurrencies. Many of them still don;t use online banking because they find it dangerous and not convenient.
2585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins to be mined with a Raspberry Pi 3? on: January 31, 2018, 07:54:19 PM
In the past it was even possible to mine Bitcoin on a Raspberry Pi. Many people used to buy a lot of them and setup mini mining farms using them. As far as I know, Raspberry Pi isn't powerful anymore to mine any altcoin with satisfying earnings. You had better used it for running for example a Bitcoin node which could benefit the network or a Lightning Network node from which you will be able to profit.
2586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Cryptos are "printing money at home". it's illegal on: January 31, 2018, 07:23:36 PM
Cryptocurrencies are different than paper money. We are not forging any money. We create something new and sell it for the price that is adjusted to the demand of the investors. It is funny to compare people who mine to people who forge money. Don't you think that it sounds weird? I'm also waiting for the "burst of cryptocurrencies bubble". So far I have been living quite good thanks to them and I doubt it will change anytime soon. Watch carefully when we are making money.
2587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin loses its popularity ? on: January 31, 2018, 05:01:09 PM
I don't think Bitcoin is losing its popularity. In fact, more and more people are becoming interested in cryptocurrencies which eventually leads them to Bitcoin which is needed to buy certain altcoins. I wouldn't worry much about temporary stagnation. There have been a lot of complains on slow and expensive transactions but now the situation got better. Right now, many wallets give wrong fee estimations which leads to overpaying. Lightning Network is really soon, this might encourage more people to buy and use Bitcoin.
2588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining earnings are terrible, I'm shutting down for a while on: January 31, 2018, 04:23:15 PM
I don't want to offend anybody, and I know a lot of people will disagree (pls don't flame me) but to be totally honest;
I lost faith in BTC. I hope I'm wrong, I really really do, but I think it will not reach €18k again.

Sure, the waves come and go.. But the world has changed. Govs are standing up to exchanges, miners, ... They have smelled the extra income (taxes etc). There have been hacks, pumps, frauds, ...

It is up to you whether or not you will continue to mine but try to think more about it. Mining wasn't profitable all the time but people who decided to hold their crypto for a few months have earned a lot of money due to growing value of Bitcoin and other popular cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum and Dash. Why did you lose faith in BTC? Is it because of "expensive fees"? Use a proper wallet which allows you to set custom fee. Most people are overpaying for their transactions.
2589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook, limited advertising campaigns on: January 30, 2018, 08:20:07 PM
I was also surprised that Facebook has joined companies which are against cryptocurrencies. Does it mean that they are going to create their own cryptocurrency and want to restrict advertisements of other cryptocurrencies? I guess it's high time to switch completely to Twitter. As far as I know, many ICOs always use Twitter instead of Facebook. Don't you think that Facebook policy is too strict? At least the quality of projects might increase.
2590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining crash coming soon? on: January 30, 2018, 07:46:12 PM
The same thing happened a few month ago when Bitcoin popularity had increased. I wouldn't worry much about, people who bought their mining equipment a few months ago, have already started to profit. However, I wouldn't recommend investing in GPU mining because people and shops are selling cards for far more than there are supposed to. Also, the price of Bitcoin has decreased a lot in the last couple of weeks.
2591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it wise to hold Bitcoin for a long time or sell to meet a need of life? on: January 30, 2018, 05:46:07 PM
In my opinion, it is wise to buy Bitcoin and hold it for a few years. Even though Bitcoin isn't as cheap as it used to be, it is still a good investment due to growing cryptocurrencies popularity. I wouldn't be surprised if Bitcoin became the new gold because of its limited supply and a huge demand. People who have a hundred of thousands BTC can sell some of their holdings for USD which won't be replaced anytime soon. They won't have to bother with anything for the rest of their lives.
2592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cooling GPus with mineral oil? on: January 30, 2018, 04:19:25 PM
Don't you think that this kind of setup requires more space and attention? I have never been into liquid cooling but it seems to be a good idea, especially if it might be cheaper than air conditioning. Your mining equipment should last longer due to lower heat. I'm still not sure whether or not it is worth the hassle (checking oil, being careful not to damage anything etc.).
2593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When do you predict coins will be stable again? on: January 30, 2018, 04:10:08 PM
It might take some time before altcoins become more stable. Their price was unstable due to growing Bitcoin popularity which caused a lot of mess. Many people started to sell their altcoins for Bitcoin because it turned out to be more profitable. At the same time Bitcoin network was overloaded. I guess that altcoins won't become stable anytime soon. Bitcoin may start to surge again after Lightning Network becomes used by the vast majority of users.
2594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FAKE ICOs Bounties. What to do? on: January 29, 2018, 06:15:40 PM
We can't really do anything about fake ICOs. I decided not to invest in ICOs because they are not as profitable as holding cryptocurrencies and also some of them seem to be shady and very unlike to return in the future. The only thing you wasted is your time. It is still valuable but you could have lost way more money. Try to follow professionally looking ICOs. It doesn't guarantee you that it will success but it still better than nothing.
2595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How are your governments reacting to Bitcoin? on: January 29, 2018, 05:38:01 PM
It is no surprise that most governments don't know how to treat Bitcoin. Some of them started to treat as a currency and a normal way to pay with but there are also countries which consider Bitcoin as something illegal which the only purpose is money laundering e.g. making selling drugs easier. It looks like my government is confused and doesn't know what cryptocurrencies are. That is why I am afraid that they might ban it. It will make cashing out more difficult.
2596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Best / safest wallet for storing ETH on: January 29, 2018, 04:00:50 PM
I would recommend you using either MyEtherWallet or buying a hardware wallet. Everything depends on what are you going to do with your Ether. MyEtherWallet is fairly easy to use, they don't store your private key and you can even run their website on your own! They have a github repository with user-friendly documentation. Hardware wallets are more secure but they are expensive. If I were you I would choose Trezor because its support is great.
2597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much do you tend to invest in an ICO on: January 29, 2018, 03:30:05 PM
I am not going to invest in any ICO anytime soon. It is because many ICOs are unfortunately a scam or projects which are very unlike to succeed. Also, it seems that due to growing cryptocurrencies popularity, it is a good idea to hold Bitcoin and Ethereum. It takes quite a long time before the coins you bought start to have some kind of value. Usually they are priced at $0.15 but after the ICO ends, nobody will buy them from you for that price.
2598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you afraid of hackers? on: January 28, 2018, 07:41:58 PM
Like investors and many people here, I am afraid of getting hacked. It is not easy to prevent this but you can take some steps to lower the chance of getting hacked. Using hardware wallet or air-gapped computer would be first thing. Unfortunately, not many cryptocurrencies are supported by hardware wallets but a few of the most popular are. It is almost impossible to brute-force today's encrypted wallets. Usually password is exposed due to compromised software.
2599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New 6 GPU miner - problem looking for solutions on: January 27, 2018, 11:34:32 PM
Did you try plugging your GPU directly into PCIe slot? Does Windows Device Manager report any errors? If it doesn't change anything then I would recommend you sending your GPU to the manufacturer.
2600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To be honest, how many people use bitcoin to invest on: January 27, 2018, 11:52:31 AM
A lot of people all around the world started to treat Bitcoin as an investment rather than a currency. Bitcoin can help us to finally get rid of banks which can do whatever they want with our money. Many people still don't understand cryptocurrencies and I doubt they will ever do. Ordinary people are too careless and don't want to know how tech works e.g. smartphones. People who are investing in Bitcoin now, will be rewarded in the future. However, I doubt we will earn as much as early-adopters.
