2582  Economy / Lending / Re: [fully funded] Requesting a 300 BTC one month loan on: January 05, 2012, 08:37:47 PM
Update:

Two 5970s have been purchased with the funds to replace two that were a little worn down. The ones they have replaced are now on standby in case another 5970 just dies. I got a really good deal on these.  Wink

I have also purchased 5 5870s from amazon and they should be arriving on Monday. I will take some pics when they arrive and will post them. I got a GREAT deal on these as I used the coins to buy discounted amazon gift card codes. The 5870s will replace a 5 5830 rig and these cards will be used to replace lesser performing 5830s elsewhere in the cluster.

I will be making one last purchase with the funds and will post a pic when it arrives.

The rest of the farm is mining away and making coins to help repay the loan at the end of the month.

I have just had a large successful WU for mtgoxUSD trade with bitcoinTrader. We split the fees.

I had never used WU before so he sent first.

Thanks bitcoinTrader!  Grin

Its still WIP, but here you go... (sorry for the crap cell phone pic)

That case looks familiar...  Wink

Glad to see you could fit six cards.

Just ignore them.  There is no reason for you to be lying.  What is the angle?  How could you profit from a lie?  The card officially releases in 4 days so I expect to see at least one other member posting about it in the coming week.

Agreed.

Simply browsing the site in chrome with translation on led me to this page.
2589  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My initial Radeon HD 7970 mining benchmarks on: January 05, 2012, 01:06:15 PM
Quick google shopping search led me to: http://www.excaliberpc.com/611611/sapphire-radeon-hd-7970-3gb.html

$647.22 (with shipping) for 568Mh/s doesn't get me very excited. Even when optimize IMHO you will most likey be paying $1/Mh just for the cards while they are in their release stage.

Edit: I would also like to hear power draw numbers.

2590  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Accusations against shakaru on: January 04, 2012, 10:35:23 PM
Moreover, there is evidence that it may have done with stolen funds, which may be why he was complaining about not getting the refund - because he didn't own the credit card that it was refunded to.
Additional evidence I just received all but confirms this.
If you insist on beating this dead horse, may I politely insist on seeing this evidence? Unless it is personal/sensitive of course.  Grin

+1 for seeing the evidence.

2591  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT - Easy persistent USB key based linux for dedicated miners/mining farms on: January 04, 2012, 10:10:53 PM
Hello all BAMT users,

I would like to request that we now start a bounty to have cgminer integrated into BAMT as cgminer now has an rpc interface per this thread -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=52466.0

I will start the bounty with a 30 btc pledge. I am not sure about the exact specifications of the integration, so if others would like to spec something out, I would appreciate it. I would like for the OP to ultimately host the patch that this upgrade would entail. Maybe he would like to do this work also?

Did this ever get off the ground?

Hi teek,

The OP said that he is not interested in doing the work. We do have around 50 btc pledged. I just don't have the time to put this all together and my farm is working. I will still honor my portion of the bounty but we would need someone else to drive the initiative.

Best regards,
gigavps

Hi Clipse,
Please PM your ABCPool username to Chlorine and he will re-activate your account ASAP. Thanks for your patience, MC

I have messaged him many hours ago, no response.

Interesting. New 4% fee and less responsive.

@gigasvps: curious, having ordered 11 did BFL provide a discount?

He indicated that they cost $600 each, so maybe they did?

Wow. You guys post in this thread an awful lot to not know the facts.

http://www.butterflylabs.com/products/

The page clearly shows $599 for a bitforce single.

I did pick one up when they were $499.
2594  Other / Off-topic / Re: 1GH/s, 20w, $700 (was $500) — Butterflylabs, is it for real? (Part 2) on: January 04, 2012, 06:25:51 PM
It's a little too expensive for me at this point.  I'm interested, but I hope they eventually come down in price.

Huh? Huh

$600 for 830Mh/s is $0.723/Mh

I've built 30Gh in rigs and was getting this same $$$/Mh with 5x5830 rigs (all new equipment and custom aluminum frames). Two BFL singles (1660Mh/s) would out perform a 5x5830 rig (1560Mh/s) and the power consumption would drop from ~900w for 5x5830 compared with ~160w for two BFL singles. That's to say that the BFL singles would use 18% the power usage of an equivalent rig and get 100Mh/s more output.

I'm not sure if your math skills are bad or if you just haven't taken the time to figure this stuff out but the BFL singles make sense from every angle I can see.

That's why I bought 11.

Any news for BFL Huh

As I said before, you should email BFL directly if you would like information on your order.

You should PM Theymos as only admins can do this.

Thanks tysat. I will do that.
2597  Economy / Auctions / Re: Reverse auction: Buying lookback call option on BTC with floating strike, 1mth on: January 04, 2012, 02:50:55 PM
I would be more willing to write an option deal like this with a fixed number of BTC instead of a fixed USD amount. So an option to buy 200 btc at $5 would be something I would be more willing to underwrite as your risk profile is easy to comprehend.

Maybe I'm just a tad stupid, but giving someone the option $1000 of btc at the lowest price over the next thirty days is quite a volatile prospect. If the price goes back to $2.50, that means you need to have 400 btc on hand to cover the $1k buy and be willing to sell those 400 btc at that price + the premium.

Also, the growth pattern of the purchasing power of the $1000 does not sit right in my stomach. You have the opportunity to make at most your premium, but your risk exposure is much greater than that. One would need to be playing both sides of the fence in order to make this work.
2598  Other / Meta / Re: Change of account handle on: January 04, 2012, 02:34:34 PM
Bump. Can anything be done about this?
2599  Economy / Auctions / Re: Reverse auction: Buying lookback call option on BTC with floating strike, 1mth on: January 04, 2012, 12:09:41 PM
As soon as I work out this equation, I'll give you a quote:

Lol, what is it?

The Black–Scholes model pricing equation for a lookback call option.

I'll do $1100 for an option exercisable at the lowest weighted average price reported by bitcoincharts.com.

10% premium seems pretty low. I was thinking at least 20% with the volatility of the bitcoin USD market.

BTW, this is not an official offer, just commentary.

Might as well pay each other interest and fees instead of giving it to credit companies.
