2581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GLBSE darknet mirror. on: April 18, 2012, 04:27:08 PM
Who else thinks its a good idea to have a darknet (I2P or FREENET) mirror of the GLBSE?

why not .onion (Tor)?
2582  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin up. on: April 18, 2012, 04:20:40 PM
BTW: is anyone invested in gold/silver through Bullionvault here?
I am, and thinking of ask them the option of liquidating in BTC instead of fiat. Maybe if there are others BV clients of similar mind we could present a sort of petition with some chances more of being taken in consideration.
Anyone?

A great article somewhat related:

So can I sleep well keeping 90%+ of my BTC life savings in it, or it may be advisable to scale down a bit just in case of a flock of black swans?

BTW: I see that you have a super-hero status and much respect from the forum, but as far I know you remain anonymous and GLBSE does not seem registered under any jurisdiction (and: there are other operators running it? What happens if you end under a bus?). If I tried to explain this to my friends or wife they would probably think I am sort of stupid to let my monies flow between anon internet entities.
2585  Other / Politics & Society / Spain Bans Cash Transactions Over 2,500 Euros on: April 16, 2012, 09:28:12 PM
http://blog.alexanderhiggins.com/2012/04/16/spain-bans-cash-transactions-2500-euros-119031

The eurocrats are banning cash left and right to better tax the euroserfs.
This sounds uber-bullish for BTC (until they will try to ban them too).

2589  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sheriff's investigators release initial findings on Obama eligibility on: April 14, 2012, 10:55:18 AM
I'm going to start a new conspiracy theory, and claim that, even though Obama is a legitimate US citizen, his group created a fake looking birth certificate on purpose, to distract the more fringe, er, I mean more scrutinizing citizens from something more sinister. Let them spend hours fretting over his fake looking birth certificate, while they institute a OneWolrdGovernment/AlienInvasion/LizardMen/MindControl policy.

So the correct answer when some nutter says "Its a fake, I've spent 7 weeks examining the layers in Photoshop and its definitely a fake." is to say "That's exactly what they want you to think."

I love it.

Yes. That is the most plausible plot of a so failing conspiracy:

2590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who's face would you like to see on official BTC currency? on: April 14, 2012, 10:22:20 AM
I'd like to see coins with this:

2591  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive on [GLBSE] on: April 14, 2012, 07:46:04 AM
Should end up being ~1.5MH/s per share.

Mm. It means to get 150 Mhs or a little more I would need either to invest 50$ in a 5750 or 60 BTC=300$ for 100 shares. Maybe I better keep pwning mining hardware at home.

edit: mining @l33t speed
2592  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive on [GLBSE] on: April 11, 2012, 07:57:39 PM
Nice to see the discount just after I bought at the top.
Another question, before I decide to double my bet: any estimate about Mhs per share and/or weekly return per share at current difficulty?
2593  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [551GH] ABCPool PPS - Proxy Pool For High & Steady Mining Rewards on: April 11, 2012, 05:42:53 PM
Something is very wrong in the last 24 hours:
first I experienced random disconnection of just a few cards of my rigs, now I am seeing a much lower output according the statistics:

Worker Name   Status   Hashrate (Mhash/s)
animal0.5870   Active   97
animal0.5830   Active   65
animal0.58302   Active   69
animal0.5750   Active   49
animal0.57502   Active   57

Note that my miner still says that my 5870 is mining at 410+ Mhs, my 5830s at 300+ Mhs and my 5750s at 170+ Mhs.
Please fix it fast or I'm gone.

edit: Now:
animal0.5870   Disconnected   0
animal0.5830   Disconnected   0
animal0.58302   Disconnected   0
animal0.5750   Disconnected   0
animal0.57502   Disconnected   0

Good bye

And if you had mining companies all around your country, blowing

Speaking of mining companies in Argentina: It may be a good idea to mine bitcoins.
How much do you pay for electric power?
2595  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive on [GLBSE] on: April 09, 2012, 02:58:41 PM
Hi, I am subbing the thread since this is my first GLBSE investment.

Just a question: are you sure that Eligius is the best option to mine in?
I experienced a +20% increase in daily income passing from Slush to ABCpool.
2596  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's the most libertarian island in the Caribbean? on: April 08, 2012, 02:18:32 PM
Haiti <-- there is no "state" there

Actually what there is is the UN-NWO storm troopers forcing a puppet gov down the throats of Haitians from years.

edit: the most libertarian island in the Caribbean would be that we Bitcoiners should buy and colonize a.s.a.p
2597  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: AOCLBF 1.83 by WinD - Dynamic clocks adjusting Completely AUTOfanspeed on: April 07, 2012, 08:47:04 PM
Thanks, but I want a constant fanspeed. I like to keep it fixed at 46% on my cardz, and downclock if temp>maxtemp . It is still possible?

I am getting this once a day from a few days. When it happens, the prog crash.

it would be a good idea (like western civilization).  Smiley
2600  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sheriff's investigators release initial findings on Obama eligibility on: April 03, 2012, 08:09:17 PM
Please people, obsess over something real.  There is a lot of bad shit out there, much worse then this, done by politicians on both sides of the isle.
This. Changing a face will make no difference. Why else would you be in a Bitcoin forum?

Well, a proven illegal alien manchurian son of the CIA uncostitutionally and treasonously acting as POTUS would make a nice case for remembering to water the tree of Liberty, no?

(This obviously does not imply that I think that having mandatorily an alien president of the USA elected by the rest of the world would not be a good idea)
