2581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: New to Launchpads advice on: September 02, 2021, 07:39:08 PM
Okay I just completed KYC on coinlist and can see 2 upcoming token project sales.

What does this mean?:

3-mo linear release starting on / around Oct 20, 2021

There's a cheaper round 2 sale but a 6-mo linear release.

I use CoinList also. They have a good reputation and they do sufficient research on their listed projects.
3-mo linear release starting on / around Oct 20, 2021
Usually there’s a pattern of distribution of the tokens. I think this one is for 3 months and the latter is for a 6 month period. What it means is you will be given a certain amount of the token for every month for 3 months or if you choose the latter you receive x amount of tokens for 6 months
The problem with CoinList is you might not get the chance to buy the token on sales day. CoinList has a unique system where users are randomly selected to be in a waiting room- a queue to purchase token, downside is the tokens may be sold out before it gets to your turn. DYOR

Nigeria is leading the baton to crypto adoption in Africa. Nigerians are interested in cryptocurrency, despite the challenges we face in the country. We are innovative, Nigerians have even got our own crypto....cryptocurrencies created by Nigerians not CBDC. Example is Tatcoin created by Gaius Chibueze aka Bitcoin chief; HaggleX coin created by Samuel Joseph, also a Nigerian born and bred. These are a few examples to show the development of crypto industry in Nigeria.
Too bad that they're government doesn't support crypto not knowing that they're the biggest in the African continent in terms of crypto adoption. I hope that that stance against crypto will change someday and hopefully they will be able to get the benefits out of supporting crypto instead of just outright opposing it.
True the government isn’t supporting the crypto industry in Nigeria but they are not condemning it either. Fintech  companies are supporting the Nigerian government by providing jobs for youths, empowerment programs, sponsoring tv shows like Big brother Nigeria (BBN)...Patricia is a proud sponsor of that show, let’s not forget the COVID-19 project by one of our own CryptopreneurBrainboss who made a mission to feed 50+ families in Nigeria.

Thanks guys for the advice and contributions. I’m already acting and making changes to my business model, also implemented some of the suggestions here. I will be in touch on this thread and promise to give updates on how my decision to accept Bitcoin as payment has affected my business. Expect a continuation thread in two or three months!
2586  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [CHARTS]Yearly, Monthly & Weekly Overview Of The Unofficial Nigeria Local Board on: September 01, 2021, 08:34:22 AM
Nice one Igehhh, thank you for taking it upon yourself to provide the data I deeply appreciate what you have done. For those of us that have been inactive in the Nigerian local board thread we will be more active from henceforth. We all have a common goal and want to see our dream of having a Nigerian local board come to pass. Its been a long one but we won't give up. Nigerians on the forum have become more vocal about our request for a local board and other nationalities are noticing the thread.
2587  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you have a separate phone/PC for crypto? on: September 01, 2021, 08:12:39 AM
I think you haven't covered the most important. Do not download any other apps.

You said you're using one phone exclusively for trading and bitcointalk-ing. Instead of having bunch of antiviruses that may also burden the performance of your device with no essential result, just stop downloading any app that may behave maliciously to steal information from you.

And that's precautions for your privacy. Do not expect to lose money from your (assumed) Binance account unless you aren't feeling well with your email, SMSes, etc. A hacker would need to compromise lots of things in your phone to be able to login there and still you'd be notified.
I don't download applications on my crypto mobile just as a precaution. There are malicious apps in the web and app store, some ads even pop up and you might click without knowing.
I use Google authenticator for my emails, trading app plus 2FA verification code. The advantage of having two phones is my crypto phone is very private.

Una see as the matta be there too. Those na local boards of three different countries – 1. France, 2. India and 3. Italy. The green lines show how many sub-boards dem get each. Some many pass the orda. But all of dem get something wey dey keep dem going. I nor even know how happy I go feel anyday wey I wake up come here to find out sey wey don join dat league. What a day it would be! Make I speak small grammar.

For the local board matter, I suggest say make we set the official language as pigin..not pigin English but pigin. Why I talk so? Other local board dey promote their native language them nor dey put body for English matter and nai make other users nor fit dey shook eye for their board. If we make our official language English anybody go fit stroll enter come dey impersonate Nigerian. English nor be our language if we be english people theymos nor go give us local board e go reason say we nor need am. Abeg make we reason this matter?

PSG is going to let mbappe go for free next season. I don't know what they are doing maybe they don't need the money. They should sell Mbappe to Real Madrid he doesn't want to play for PSG anyone. No point in keeping me there it will prove unfavourable for the club to keep a dissatisfied player.
Man city isn't signing any more players for now. They finally settle for the A-team they have. Chelsea is interested in signing a new center back. I think it will be a good addition for their team.

2591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The life span of bitcoin is till infinity on: September 01, 2021, 06:21:49 AM
The number of followers of Bitcoin is increasing day by day. There are Bitcoin investment enthusiasts all over the world. We can all see the daily transaction volume and amount. There may be new investment products in the future, but Bitcoin will not disappear. Bitcoin coexists with people.
Genuine followers who believe in Bitcoin and the promise it gives will stand by their belief till the end of time. All lot of other factors are responsible for the high volume and amount of bitcoins that are transacted on the blockchain. Whales and institutional buyers have the most share of bitcoin and the money to buy. Back in the days, the average person could earn bitcoin by playing games, faucets and writing articles for blogs( just like Vitalik did) but that's no longer the case. The people I see in the crypto space are here for the long term
2592  Other / Meta / Re: Request for Nigeria local board on: September 01, 2021, 06:00:46 AM
We need local board to provide more accurate information that Nigerian crypto lovers will also be able to read. Best and most accurate information about bitcoin and other crypto assets related to Nigeria can most likely be from this forum.
I haven't used the bitcoin ATM either. Maybe we should have a poll of how many Nigerians on the forum have used the bitcoin ATM. We know how frustrating it is to even use a traditional ATM in Nigeria. There is so much misinformation and fake news circulating in the media houses. I understand the hype, we want to look developed in the eyes of the rest of the world. But the anonymous part is very deceitful. This article is not one from a blog or a wannabe  journalist. Its from a reputable media house in Nigeria  one would think the journalist would take his/her time to research about bitcoin before publishing this article. The punch has good reputation so people will generally believe whatever garbage they throw at them. Newbies and the general public will swallow the lie hook, line and sinker.
2593  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How weird is it to borrow money and invest into Bitcoin? on: September 01, 2021, 05:47:31 AM
That's the FOMO effect. People panic when bitcoin is pumping hard and they all want in at that point. Humans are a greedy bunch so whenever we see an opportunity to satisfy our greed we go for it. When there is a dump no one fomo to buy instead they panic sell
Fomo only pumps price of cryptocurrency, spreading fud has become a tactic for some community managers. Members of the community go on to other groups to spread the fud and boom! An apocalypse
2594  Other / Off-topic / Do you have a separate phone/PC for crypto? on: September 01, 2021, 05:40:00 AM
I spend a minimum of  8-9 hours a day on my mobile phone. I have one mobile for bitcointalk forum/trading and another for my normal day-day businesses. This is a measure to secure my bitcointalk account and trading accounts from hacks, viruses, phishing hacks and attacks from public WiFi e.t.c this is a safe practice to protect one's information. Do not make the mistake of overlooking your data privacy.
When I pick up my mobile, I automatically focus all my energy here regardless of what may be happening in my surrounding. I never leave my phone unattended. It's locked and secure whenever I'm busy with something else. If you can't afford a second phone, you can follow the tips stated in this article
https://www.webroot.com/us/en/resources/tips-articles/how-to-prevent-phone-hacking-and-sleep-like-a-baby-again

Avoid unsecured public WiFi. Hackers often target important locations such as bank accounts via public WiFi that can often be unsecured due to relaxed safety standards or even none at all.

Turn off your autocomplete feature. By doing this, you can prevent stored critical personal data from being accessed.

Regularly delete your browsing history, cookies, and cache. Removing your virtual footprint is important in minimizing the amount of data that can be harvested by prying eyes.

Have an iPhone? Enable Find My iPhone. By turning the feature on in your settings, you’ll be able to locate your phone if you misplace it before the hackers can lay their paws on it.

Use a security app that increases protection. For Android owners, Webroot offers the all-in-one Mobile Security for Android app that provides antivirus protection and allows you to remotely locate, lock up and wipe your phone in the event you lose track of it. For iOS users, Webroot also offers a free secure web browser for increased mobile security on your iPhone and iPad.

2595  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Friend borrowed 4 digits money from me, saying wait until BTC rises on: September 01, 2021, 04:47:36 AM
From what I understand of OP's  post is that OP and his friend had agreement, a non-written contract for that matter to venture into a joint business of crypto trading. They both share the profit and loss after a period of time. Money exchanged hands, OP being the less educated one about crypto and probably the more financially buoyant brought the capital and the other party was supposed to use his trading prowess to double OP's capital. Please note that OP doesn't have access to the trading account nor monitors it. OP didn't concern himself with an overview of weekly or monthly profit and loss from trades.
Now he comes to you to tell you he can't give ROI, its up to you to see this picture for what it really is. If possible sell, cut your losses and make do with what you have instead of letting him continue "trading". OP, I suggest you learn from your mistake, an important lesson here is how human greed works. You don't want to bear the loss of the business only profits. Everyone thinks they are more intelligent than the next person. That never ends well
2596  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: That feeling having your first merit on Bitcointalk on: August 31, 2021, 09:04:51 PM
The OP was banned in June, likely for plagiarism, yet he keeps on still receiving congratulation posts on this thread ...

Granted that we can’t see the banned status on people’s profile directly, but it has been pointed out a couple of times on this thread. As to the OP having worked hard to get the merit, well …
I thought threads of banned accounts are locked by moderators. I’m sure there are others like myself who think that’s the case and are not aware that OP has been banned or people just ignore and congratulate anyway to complete a post quota for bounty/sig campaigns. It’s a shame he could have done better....plagiarism is the quickest door out of the forum. This thread should be a lesson to those who intend to plagiarize the works of others and think they can get away with it.
2597  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How To Go About Crypto Trading For Newbies. on: August 31, 2021, 02:56:28 PM
Hello,
I've realised a lot of people have capital in their account to start investment in crypto currency but have no idea how to go about it.

Do you have knowledge of trading? No rule is don’t invest in something you know nothing about. If you are good at trading then go ahead. For other newbies, trading is a very volatile business. You could lose all your money to trading don’t be fooled by the luxurious lifestyles portrayed on the internet that’s just a magician’s trick of illusion. Trading isn’t as easy as it looks maybe you should learn the hard way before you will agree with me. I believe hodling is the best strategy for a beginner, hodling is same as “trading” or rather a long term type of trading. Unlike the forex market crypto trading does not have a demo account. They are no redos once a trade is initiated. I’m afraid your post is misleading, many newbies are looking for an easy way to double their money they call it “investing” but they usually end up in one scam or the other.
2598  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Learnt from Someone's mistake on: August 31, 2021, 10:24:29 AM
Welcome to the crypto space your friend learned a lesson the hard way. Many of us had a similar experience when we started investing in crypto, scam companies are pretty good at promotions ICOs scams, mining scams, e.t.c  Don't feel stupid because of this, you know the saying "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" this is an experience you can learn from
2599  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Think twice before making a post on: August 29, 2021, 10:16:17 PM
Bitcointalk forum is a forum about Bitcoin where discussion and good ideas from members with better understanding about Bitcoin to facilitate the sense of cryptocurrency of new members. As new members of Bitcointalk forum before a post is being made ask some questions like.
Can my post give good ideas to members of the forum and if what is about to be written is necessary in the forum. The benefits of one thinking before making a post in the forum will help in self development which will yield good Ideas that can be helpful to the forum.

If every new members should have a second thought before making a post it will really serve the purpose for which the forum is been created for. Thinking before posting  can kill the mindset of plagiarism which is an offence that the forum do not tolerate. If every new member should always think before making a post it will add value to members .
Good advice newbies are always quick to create threads and leave it idle to spam. I think the major reason for this is the belief that the only way to get merits is to create personal threads, thus we see long threads created by newbies especially in beginners & help

Nigeria just dey one kain, the government don successfully corrupt the mind of the average man on the street. I'm amazed when I see people fighting themselves because they are in opposition parties. Everything is politicised in Nigeria, insecurity in the North is also politicised, government is deliberate taking no action to fight the terrorists that terrorize our nation. Instead they give them new names on TV like hoodlums, bandits, herdsmen, unknown gunmen, and offer amnesty to them.
Btw a different matter altogether I want to inform the house that I am now a senior member. Thank you to every naija rep on the forum we are growing higher.
PS Rruchiman edit your post, the quote isn't right.
