2581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Semifinals! on: May 03, 2022, 08:43:06 PM
Villarreal had a strong motivation in the first half to qualify for the final, if there was no goal from Fabinho then it was a big opportunity for Villarreal. currently the aggregate of villareal vs liverpool is 3-2, both teams play carefully, if liverpool is unlucky then villareal can score another goal.

Your motivation towards Villarreal is not really working and I really feel for them. I mean, how Liverpool was able to equalize 2 goals in the seconds half was so smooth and now they have added another one with an aggregate of 2-5, that gap will be difficult for Villarreal to fill back, trust me, they have lost the chance they had to beat Liverpool. Just some few minutes to end the match, will Villarreal be able to qualify for the final? That's is no from my side, I already knew Liverpool wouldn't take it lightly with them.

The question is Bitcoin subject to regulations?, may be viewed in different light by people depending on nationality and government policies, while  governments agencies are working on ensuring that Bitcoin and Bitcoin miners work with regulatory standards and pay taxes ,like in Isreal, other countries such as the st Lucia, are yet to  produce regulations regarding specifically to bitcoins and cryptocurrency in general. Most jurisdictions and authorities have yet to enact laws governing cryptocurrencies, meaning that, for most countries, the legality of crypto mining remains unclear. However, apart from jurisdictions such as Nigeria, China etc .that have specifically banned certain bitcoins and cryptocurrency-related activities, very few countries prohibit crypto mining. Bitcoin and certain Cryptocurrencies involve unique tax considerations. Businesses and individuals need up-to-date guidance and insight regarding the tax law and its impact on virtual currency activities at the state, federal level within their various jurisdictions and international levels. Few regulations which include Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) and Know-Your-Customer (“KYC”) compliance requirements are considered a necessity to ensure financial safety and security within crypto space, in recognition of the crypto theft, hacking and fraud related issue, state and federal stakeholders regardless of jurisdiction may Favour the view that Bitcoin and crypto currency’s be regulated to certain degree, which could provide trace of funds and transacting individuals.

2583  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Elon musk's buying of Twitter fueled by Jack Sweeney?? on: May 03, 2022, 01:45:12 PM
Come to think of it, is this move of buying Twitter another of his impulsive acts or is he afraid of Jack? Your thoughts on this, please 🙏 https://www.legit.ng/people/1453754-elon-musk-reportedly-offers-19-year-old-n2m-delete-twitter-account-tracking-private-jet-boy-wants-n20m/

The news about that boy is some Months old and it doesn't have anything to do with why they bought Twitter. The boy was intruding into Elon's privacy which he didn't like and not just that, it was a security risk to him as the richest man on earth and the boy as well(people will be ready to buy any information he finds about Elon).
Why would Elon Musk be afraid of Jack, someone who was not afraid to influence Bitcoin and some meme tokens, what is there for a successful person to be scared about if not for security and some privacy.
2584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There is a probability that tesla will use bitcoin again on: May 03, 2022, 01:17:48 PM
To be honest, I couldn't care less about what tesla or Elon Musk will do in this regard.

I suppose that if it accepts payments again it will be in the news and maybe it will have some influence on the price but I don't think it will be anything like the first time when it announced that it not only accepted payment in bitcoin, but that it was also going to buy for its reserves.

On the other hand, does anyone believe that even if bitcoin payments are accepted, many Teslas will be bought that way? I don't think so. Even if I had bitcoins to spare, I wouldn't do it.

For the company(Tesla) to decide to put some of the reserve cash into bitcoins shows that the cycle of the board members are having an interest in bitcoin and for this, they decide to make bitcoin an additional option for Tesla car purchases but you know, bitcoin has been a state of confusion with some governments officials, seeing the energy used in mining is going to get them into trouble and possibility of been fine, that's why they decide to drop it, Tesla wouldn't have change mind if bitcoin is an already accepted currency worldwide even if what they said is true.

Have you been to a Gold mining site? don't you see how these guys used dynamite to spoil environments, they also used mercury and cyanide in gold mining operations which are very harmful to the environment but do governments discusses this? No! They wouldn't because that's their place of interest.

At the bolded, Whats the point of holding Bitcoin forever, there are some holders who were privileged to hold bitcoins right from when it was around some scents and a dollar and they are still holding, if today anyone needs a car and they don't have the means to buy but they have millions in bitcoin, what's the big deal to spare some dollars to buy a car for your self. It's good o have a feeling of what it is to be a holder, not to hold forever and die for nothing.

If there is a right English to hiss at his statements, I will love to do that to this myopic speculations with bitcoin to $1m. Says someone who confesses and was found guilty of money laundering[1] on Bitmex has become the voice of bitcoiner and a motivational person, what will come out of his mouth than a uni-directional bitcoin price level.
This reminds me of McAfee (soul rest in peace) and his cruise bitcoin price prediction, also promised to cut off his dick if bitcoin never attained such a level some years back but here we are. Let's leave bitcoin from unnecessary price predictions, it has managed to come this far, what led him here will take it to $1m and it is going to be a shock to everyone just the way they are afraid to buy now at $38k

2587  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not use a wallet that do not bring out virtual keyboard on: May 01, 2022, 12:26:10 PM
If a see phrase is stolen if another person got hold of the person that use his device as wallet, this can not be commonly successfully done, but if it is done and the wallet is compromised this way, should we blame it on the word predictor or we should blame it on wallets that do not bring out virtual key board. I believe if virtual keyboard is used, this wouldn't have happened. Many wallets should not be used.

I'll blame it on the user for creating a wallet on a mobile device. Hardware wallets have been around for a while, and as part of the security measures for holders to accept the use of hardware wallets has been one of the problems that have been solved. Word suggestions aren't just the only problems with mobile wallets, there is the possibility that you may get attacked by keyloggers and malware that can change anything copy, it could be an address.

I've tested some software wallets and can state that some developers do deactivate this word prediction, as well as the ability to copy and paste recovery phrase/seed, but looking at all of this, it's very simple to fall victim to a wallet breach, that is why hardware wallets don't have these issues.
2588  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is/was reason behind the 'double hash'? on: May 01, 2022, 08:01:19 AM
Turns out a Bitcoin address is Base58Check encoded double hash (SHA256 and RIPEMD160) of public key. What is the reason to hash it twice? First with SHA256 and then RIPEMD160? Thanks.

In addition to the response above, basically, SHA256 gives you 32 bytes (256 bits) and the RIPEMD160 function gives you 20 bytes (160 bits) of data, when you compared the two functions, RIPEMD160 provides a shorter version of data and this gives allows us to save a lot of space on blocks of transactions and easily encode it to base58 bitcoin address format.
I think the main reason why they adopt two hash functions is just to add extra security so that we don't rely on a single function as we don't know what the future may tell if SHA256 becomes vulnerable.
2589  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tip-Don't participate in token sales being influence by Airdrops on: April 30, 2022, 11:34:03 AM
I wonder how they can make the token on trustwallet even got their value shows. Sometime its really frustrating to see a token on your wallet with shown value but thats not tradeable. Its like teasing you about the token worth but the truth is its not.

There are project with airdrop approach but have some team, backed by legit projects liek apecoin, which havent have liquidity injected and naturally bloom but some tokens arent like that which has their way through airdrop. Maybe try to study first about project before hoping anything else with it.

I don't blame the shit projects how they find their way to coinmarketcap. Trust wallet and coinmarketcap are owned by Binance, when a new project is launched on marketcap, Trustwallet has an API that updates and tracked the price of these projects. So, when coinmarketcap list these shitcoins, they get tracked by Trust wallet when you add their smart contracts.
Coinmarketcap could have easily tracked these projects and delisted them but they have this silly policy of saying anyone can list their projects to avoid centralization, what is the decentralization without a remedy to eject evil projects. Sigh!
2590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: April 30, 2022, 11:11:23 AM
Today we are going to have Newcastle - Liverpool and Leeds - Manchester City matches that are directly related to the championship race in the league. Liverpool are going to play first and their job might be a little more difficult. But I still expect them to defeat Newcastle anyway. As long as they are able to have their usual performance, it is a low possibility that they would lose points in this. And for the other match, I don't think Manchester City will have big problems. They obliterated Leeds before by 7-0. They would get a comfortable win in this too.

The way Liverpool is kicking other teams, one may believe they are obsessed with the Premier League, nevertheless, they have not disappointed in the Champions League since day one, and their continued participation proves that they will come near to winning the season league. Newcastle has been trying recently, but they aren't up to the task of defeating Liverpool today, they can try again next time. It is simple to predict that Liverpool will win today's match since Manchester City is only one point behind them, and they will want to win at all costs.
Manchester city on the other hand would take their chances, Lead United is just a minor team to pull down without much stress. I wonder why they haven't been pin down to relegation zone, their performance is very low.  Undecided
2591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: April 30, 2022, 10:38:55 AM
Sevilla couldn't win a victory against Cadiz as it ended in a draw by 1-1. This was not too surprising to me as Cadiz were trying to stay in the La Liga. They did their best against Sevilla and I think that they played good according to the statistics of the game too. Sevilla still got ahead first but couldn't do what they do best most of the time. They couldn't keep their score advantage until the final whistle and Cadiz got what they wanted from this game for sure. Barcelona could see this as an opportunity as increasing the gap with Sevilla by capturing the second position again.

I think Sevilla is just trying to stay steel and not leave that spot for Barcelona since they can't go forward to fight Real Madrid's place, the way they play justified their remaining matches before the end of the season. Barcelona has their next two matches before Sevilla will play their next match with Villareal and it is certain that Mallorca and Betis are not going to be a headache to them, an easy win will assure them 6 points ahead of Sevilla. Will Sevilla succeed against Villareal, the chance is slim.
2592  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance blocks crypto accounts of relatives tied to the Russian government on: April 29, 2022, 09:54:05 PM
This is a typical action of a centralized exchange and playing with the political economy of the people. This is not the best for the cryptocurrency market. I think that avoiding this ban would have put binance in the good books. Binance has been a player of this kind of action trying to be involved in politics of the world.

Of course, what do you expect when CZ is been invited to many government dealings and in return for a green signal to operate without the interference of local watchdogs and regulators? I'm not in support of whatever wrongs that family may have done to upset the Russian government and the relatives but what least could anyone think will come out of any exchange that has made KYC a mandatory exercise for all his customers.

This is not the first we have heard about exchange freezing customer's accounts due to political and government collaboration, this should be a signal to others who are yet to do KYC on any exchanges like Binance.
2593  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mistake I made till now investing on crypto projects. on: April 29, 2022, 09:34:13 PM
  • Product was not ready: That project looks promising but their product was still in development mode. I made a huge sum of investment but the price of the token keeps falling because no utility exists by then. Lose 90% of my portfolio.

  • Lesson: Do not invest in a token that doesn't have any utility or whose product is not ready.

A hard lesson was learnt but I will like to correct some of the wrong assumptions you thought contributed to your failure.
It is true that you should invest in a project that must have a utility but some utility doesn't just come into existence at the beginning of the project launched, some carry months to years before you see their utility and how can you tell if the utility will come or not in future, it is only time that can reveal that, look at Solana and Fantom, they both were here at few scents and nobody gives a sh!t about them until they went mainet and then the FOMO began.

Quote
  • Product was ready but token doesn't have utility: Another project where I am still 50% down. This project is already live and they have a big community but right now their token doesn't have any proper utility so investors keep selling their unlocked token.

  • Lesson: Wait for the team to implement any proper utility so that market has demand for that token.

Why invest in a project that can add value to your money, that's just like investing in a meme token that is purely based on speculation and hype.

beware of false cryptocurrency trading platforms.

How did you come up with such a conclusion that they are scams, is there a lead I can follow and how to detect them at first glance? These are the only few scam trading platforms you have come across, wait until you enter Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Telegram. Plenty of them I see that I don't count and you know what is so common about such platforms, they display fancy flit of cars, wearing suit, testimonial reviews and the earning. They even sometimes display their Fake pnl just to show you their high % that can be easily fake with $10.

Good hints up there just that when you are ready to trade, most of this doesn't happen in life trading, crypto conditions will make you think that these are not even needed by the time you start your trading journey but they are cool to know how the market is structure.

EDIT: I mistakenly refresh the merit page and it did give out another one. LUCKY YOU but why is that way?  Embarrassed

For beginner who doesn't know that he is into a lion's den wouldn't think of the group as a scam, the fake chats and transactions will be their focus and they wouldn't find any flag since it is too good to be true in their face (a pro can easily know that it's a scam group) and before you could say jack, they will fall such for such scams, before they realized, they will be removed from the group and wouldn't be able to capture the group ID. What they do sometimes is that they even go to the length of banning your accounts, when you search for the group, it wouldn't be visible.

A tip for beginners, avoid: Avoid Telegram dealings, I do that too not because I know too much about crypto, I do take caution with Telegram.
2597  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is the end of Fiat money at hand? on: April 29, 2022, 07:25:00 AM
From the inception of bitcoin, it was intended to be used as normal currency so every part of the world could use one online trading currency (electronic currency). But due to its price volatility it makes it a bit difficult to actualize that dream.

That was then. Bitcoin is still used to close trade deals, especially now that Lightning Network has been adopted, it is very fair and easy to open a channel(s) between different traders(buyers and sellers). In El Salvador, their official App supports a lightning Network to help[ facilitate transaction speed and to easily convert to fiat. Another tip: Stable coin is already in the process to be added to Bitcoin LN, this will helps traders to mitigate volatility.

Quote
But in recent times, other Cryptocurrencies have emerged which are called stable coins, they are stable in price, and are fixed to an existing currencies around the world. They can be used as electronic payment for a per to per transactions so long the receiver and the payer have their wallets.
There are many types of stable coin such as USDT, DIA, BUSD, TUSD, UST etc. And most people uses this insted of fiat money, will it be that later in the future countries will no longer use Fiat money but these electronic currency?

Fiat(paper money) is just too poor in the hands of the government to be replaced, they love it and cherish it as it is easy for them to evade transparency and leave the people in the dark with their dealings. sigh  Huh
Stable coins are also far from replacing paper money, there are lots of stable coins you don't know much about, tether(usdt) reserve doesn't correspond with the amount of their mint USDT, maybe in the future things may change.

This is sad! Is there not freedom in KUWAIT? I went to Kuwait's official government website to see their stands against other religions and this is what I found:

Quote
Christian families practice their own religious rituals with complete freedom in the churches found in Kuwait. This freedom is endorsed by the Kuwaiti government, a matter which enhances the coherence and interdependence of the nation.

Source: https://e.gov.kw/sites/kgoenglish/Pages/Visitors/AboutKuwait/CultureAndHeritageReligiousPractices.aspx

Kuwait is binded by Sharia but that doesn't stop others from practising other religions, did you try to force others into Christianity knowing Kuwait is a tough country that is core Islam by religion. There should be a law that will fight for you against this injustice and stupid act of imprisonment.

Do you have your Tinder details, since you found him through that medium, it is possible that you can get a lead through there. About your bitcoin, the chances of having access to your bitcoins are very very very low, if you don't have that info that was written down on paper, you have zero hope my friend.

Do you know the name of the wallet app on your phone, is it related to Blockchaindotinfo?

2599  Economy / Exchanges / Re: cryptocurrency exchanges on: April 29, 2022, 06:23:20 AM
It depends on which one you want. There are types of crypto exchanges. Like the noncustododial exchanges, the instant exchanges and the custodial exchanges.

Pardon! I beg to differ, this is wrong. We have just centralized and decentralized exchanges, custodial and noncustodial have to do with custody of your wallet when you manage your private keys or when a third party manage them for you.

_snip_

You see, forget about the commissions, the bonuses, the sweet talk thing about centralized exchanges. Let's start from your capital, You have just $50 to start with as a beginner, how do you intend to enjoy benefits with such a fund? it is very little to enjoy all the sweet rose promises centralized exchanges will want to offer you.
Let's come back to your security and privacy concerns, I have a small token of advice to share with you, don't do KYC on any changes, don't submit your precious passports and ID cards to anyone, once you give them out, you just handed over the most valuable thing you can never get back again, what happens to future of that documents depends on how they use it and it will bounce back to you.
Use exchanges that don't request for mandatory KYC before you could trade and withdraw your coins, Kucoin exchange is a good start, Good luck!
2600  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Features of fake/scam AirDrops on: April 27, 2022, 10:40:00 PM
There have been alot of scam project now...

Three features of fake airdrop.

1: any airdrop that "have no end" they often runs for 2/3 months, majority are not true.  real airdrops don't last more than a month.

2:  95% of airdrop given to "all participants" is not real. Normal airdrop is mainly for a limited number for top referrals.

3: Any airdrop promising you high amount of their token equivalent  $5000, $10,000 or even more without through referral bonus may not be real. Real airdrops don't give such amount, unless you are claiming on  their site where you pay gas fee,

There is still some good airdrop but any where there is 100 different airdrops, the probability of one to be true is less than 2% which means you will waste your precious time doing task, you didn't just waste time alone, you may have been convince to digest some ideas that aren't true, far from the way cryptocurrency.
Scammers and bad actors also steal your address and emails, personal data you fill during the course of registration, they use it either for another scam or sell them and they may even go extra mile to send you some fake tokens, the bad thing about this tokens is that they may have some price attached to them and when you intend to sell them or swap them, it steals all your main chain coins (bnb, ether, so, ftm). Some people called that act Honeypot.
