Thanks for explaining. They do look quite nice  What will pricing be like? We're still discussing the final price. When I first proposed the idea, some of our team thought we should use less expensive, more generic leathers and the typical nickel-plated, base metal key rings that you'll find on mass produced novelty keychains. I pushed for only the finest materials and craftsmanship (genuine Horween leathers, polished stainless steel rings, hand-cut and hand-sewn construction, etc). I won that battle. As one might expect, that battle came with a higher price tag. (Which we're still hammering out, but we hope to have everything finalized and on the website by this weekend.) By the way, if you're unfamiliar with Horween Chromexcel leather...it is THE most buttery smooth / supple leather on the PLANET! Absolute pure luxury! Like cashmere, only leather. What makes these Bitcoin penny keychains?
Well...the brand name is Bitcoin Penny™ and they're designed to look like penny loafers. That's all. Do they serve any function or are they just nice looking keychains? These do not store private keys or hold any bitcoin monetary value whatsoever. They're just really cool, extremely well-made, handcrafted, gentleman's keychains. Unfortunately, bitcoin is more like digital cash and not digital processing (of Visa/Mastercard/PayPal), so cash rules apply. And with cash, there's no chargeback feature. If you buy something with cash, unless you get a signed receipt, it's your word against his/her word. No chargebacks.
Any non-anonymous address serves as a receipt for Bitcoin; Everybody can read the block chain and see that the payment was made. Yes, non-anonymous address. (Like a known address for Gap.com, or something.) But not for anonymous addresses. (Like the address for the guy you met from Craigslist who's selling you the stolen iPhone 5s.) With the anonymous address, you can prove the payment was made, but not to whom. (As in the "cash rules" / Craigslist example.) Me |

 A multisig address will protect your from the "$5 wrench" attack. If you use a 2 of 3 multisig address you keep one yourself, give one to you mom and then put a third in a safety deposit box. That way if you die your mom can get the safety deposit box and access your coins, you can still access your coins without your mom by going to your safety deposit box or you can just send a transaction to you mom for approval (because, yeah, you mom always needs to approve your spending anyway ). Great comic! LOL But wouldn't they simply get your 1 of 3 multisig address, ask you who has the other multisig addresses, then visit your mom and give her the same "$5 wrench" attack? I only use paper wallets as cold storage lot safer than using anything else and only take them out when really needed to.
I know it's silly, but it always amazes me that with all the crazy technical algorithmic cryptographic hot/cold wallet innovations, the most secure might be paper. Me |

Agree. The "no chargeback" feature might scare some/most people away from adopting bitcoin. They know bitcoin is a digital currency, and they know that transactions using Visa/Mastercard/PayPal require digital processing, so they'll automatically equate bitcoin to Visa/Mastercard/PayPal including the standard security feautures like chargebacks. In that way, it makes perfect sense for people to expect that bitcoin should have chargeback services. im brand new to bitcoin, I've been reading for a few months now and Im ready to get started. I have read mixed reviews about places that allow you to buy BTC with your CC but I cant find one im for sure about. Can anyone point me in the direction of a site that is reputable for this?

Agreed. But as long as cracking technology improves, anti-cracking technology will continue to improve right along with it. In other words, by the time quantum computers are computing fast enough to create problems with the current bitcoin technology, there will have already been a fix for it.
