2581  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Video: Morgan Spurlock - Living On Bitcoin - [CNN Full Documentary] on: July 25, 2015, 03:58:40 PM
That was the best Bitcoin documentary I've ever seen
Here's his wallet address or at least one of them  He reused this address so you can see all the other transactions he made! The blockchain is amazing.

2582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coin.mx shutdown by federal government, top executives arrested on: July 25, 2015, 03:45:37 PM
basically shut down and under investigation. The coins will probably be confiscated by the authorities and users will never get to use them again (like Silk Road).
2583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you like best about bitcoin? on: July 25, 2015, 03:42:24 PM
I love the low transaction fees and the instant transactions. It is also a great way to hold your money and be in control of your money. Those are two things that only Bitcoin can provide!
2584  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin Gambling on: July 25, 2015, 03:39:20 PM
I think it depends on which countries does these operate.
If it is a strong country then i think most of them should be registered.
But in other countries as far as i know bitcoin is not legal to use so might be gambling sites are unregistered.

I am sure US is a strong country and still doesn't have control over majority of the bitcoin gambling sites . Almost all countries require registration and licensing but it becomes difficult for them to execute their legal system against sites accepting only bitcoin.
Can someone explain why gambling is illegal in America?
The government does not want foreigners taking away Americans hard earned cash. Only Las Vegas and Atlantic City may do that.  Cheesy
2585  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Secure messengers: are there any? on: July 22, 2015, 09:00:15 PM
Is anyone still using TorChat? Does it work well, even though it doesn't seem to updated in a while? is it still a safe working program?
2586  Economy / Gambling / Re: Good and relatively safe dice strategy? on: July 22, 2015, 08:30:02 PM
Hi, I want to know what's the best strategy when playing dice if I have 10 BTC bankroll and want to make 40 BTC.
I know only Martingale, and that's bullshit strategy so I was just randomly betting and lost so much.
Not a higher chance on winning than the regular winning odds on dice (in other words expected return is smaller)
2587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: is gambling fix your life? or wreck your life? on: July 22, 2015, 08:25:33 PM
every gambler want to be rich
gambling is the fastest ways (if you're lucky)

don't try to gamble if you don't have spare money to lose
stay safe
Moral of the story is: GAMBLING IS STUPID. If you DO however end up doing it, please set yourself a minimum point of loss. You will thank me later for it.

2589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin anonymity on: July 22, 2015, 08:09:55 PM
If i use a different bitcoin address for every transaction, it is still possible to correlate my addresses?

If i leave one address here in my signature (for tip, lets say) and this address only serves this purpose, i will never use it in any other transaction; it is possible to correlate it with other of my addresses?

I am reading that bitcoin is not so anonymous like people think it is, BUT what are the possible falws here? I know that every transaction is public, but if "they" cant correlate transactions/addresses with each other, they have nothing, right?

Explain like i am five please  Cool

Thank you
Darkwallet will probably do what you are looking for but it's still in beta.
but I think most people are happy with the pseudo anonymity offered by coinjoin
2590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mainstream Adoption on: July 22, 2015, 07:57:51 PM
We're going to run into waves of adoption. This is inevitable, and will make for a bumpy ride, but also slower growth, which may be a healthy thing.
2591  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hackers threaten to leak Ashley Madison's 37 million clients on: July 22, 2015, 07:53:54 PM
hackers claim that the reason they did it was to prove that Ashley Madison was lying to their customers about the permanent delete feature.
2592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about those bitcoins that are LOST? on: July 19, 2015, 11:32:15 PM
And I mean really, really lost.
A lot of people can't remember their passwords after 4 minutes since they set it up.
But apart this, there's several ways bitcoins can get lost, like in example if you have a wallet on a USB key and this breaks and you have no cold backup.

This will inevitably bring, in the future, to less than those 21 million cap.
And they WILL keep going down.

Is there a plan to reintegrate them?
At the moment, not. but It's just a consensus thing, and could "easily " be changed.

The divisibility of Bitcoins is how the lost coins problem is handled.
In short the money supply can be expanded by having the value of Bitcoin increase such that people will be urged to spend/sell to those the increasing demand.

I would NEVER agree to the 21M cap being raised and neither would anyone else who currently owns any btc
as it would signifigantlly devalue any benefits of being an early adopter and believer in this technology

To raise the cap to something like 21Billion for the saker of argument  would make every coin worth 10 times less
how would the winklevoss twins and other large holders feel about that ? consensus lol ......i doubt it

people have also invested x amount  because there will be a signifigant reward  halving  in 2016 and and the next one after that
when a steep  rise in value is predicted ,to start monkeying arounnd with the coin supply now would just cause people to lose faith all together
since thats equivalent to irresponsible  governments printing cash from fresh air  now  etc etc

It could also happen just with a general consensus democratically, but that is also unlikely since the 21M limit is held as a pretty core belief by most Bitcoin users currently.
2593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make 100% anonymous transactions? Laundry services? on: July 19, 2015, 11:08:26 PM
Look what i found:
"Bter says that it managed to trace the stolen 7,170 BTC to a Bitcoin mixer (a cryptocurrency laundering service) called Bitcoin Fog"
I don't know if it is legal or not but this is the website http://www.bitcoinfog.com/
How is that possible if the bitcoins were really in cold storage? Somebody would have to have access to that private key somehow. They recovered NXT in the past. They got stolent 2 millons dollars in NXT
2594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Welcome To The Blockchain on: July 19, 2015, 10:56:45 PM
Really nice video I've heard a lot of bitcoin songs and I'd say this is near the bottom. It sounds like an instructional manual.
2595  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many Bitcoins are lost forever? on: July 19, 2015, 10:52:03 PM
No one really knows how much because of the amount of the users of bitcoin. Imagine the guy who throw away his hard drive with tons of BTC in it. Yes that's a real news.
2596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much BTC have you gambled? (anonymous on: July 18, 2015, 04:42:57 PM
I lost around 10 BTC Mostly in dice and sportsbook.(Martingale and all In Soccer bets)  Gambling is not good so play at your own risk.

2598  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: July 18, 2015, 04:10:48 PM
In many places of this forum bitcoin's target value was set at 10.000$ so you should be fine with 100btc,
it depends on at what age you'd be retiring 1.000.000 would make for a very comfortable living
2599  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think bitcoin will reach it's $1000 mark again? on: July 18, 2015, 04:04:58 PM
things are most probably are going to change but we are going to be stuck at this price level for more time now. especially next year in 2016 when the block halving is about to happen, things are gonna change and market will get exciting again.
2600  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to buy? on: July 18, 2015, 03:59:17 PM
Good time to buy we're currently in the bullish, bearish and flat trends. The spike over $300 last week shot out of all the trends, so retracement is hardly a surprise.
