there actually is nothing special about poloniex in my opinion and the only reason why they are on top is because of the massive amount of pumps that take place there. any pumper or pumping group go to poloniex to pump shitcoins, and this process attracts a huge volume of bitcoin being traded against that pumping coin which increases the volume and the rank of the the exchange in different lists. so if a newbie wants to choose an exchange r (@Spoetnik ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) ) he chooses the first one.

trust means nothing, and if you are honest you can do your business (sells) on the forum even with a brand new account. as Rockie1234 explained what an escrow is, you use one for every trade you make no matter if you have 0 trust or green trust. that way there is never any problem (well to be exact there is always a small risk like escrow running away but that is nothing to worry about)

i really doubt that it can have any effect on bitcoin price. right now we have had all the effects on the market that we could possibly see. and at this point with the little change in price i bet there is accumulation going on instead of anything else which can only mean rise in the future. I think at the turn of china current market decreased transaction volume. This is because, most traders china taking their holidays.

Recently received again another Authorization failed prompt in my email.
How come this is happening in C-CEX.COM? If there is an unusual login attempt how those persons involved got access to some of the email address listed in this site. Im surprised why this is happening since the registered email address must only be accessible to the admins and staffs itself of the site.
Any of you guys experiencing this?
i had to double check because you made me doubt, but you don't log in to c-cex.com with email address but with a username! this is what has happened to you: lets assume your username in c-cex is "chaser15" if i go there and try to log in with "chaser15" and "123" as password, the site will send you an email indicating a failed attempt has happened. simple as that.

do you even have to ask ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) it is when i lose money! but to be serious, since i am mostly playing dice games, and as you know it dice is a generally bad losing game; i get mad whenever i roll and i see red. in one of those losing streaks that seems to not want to end. and then after 30 losses in a row i am left with nothing in my bankroll!

We know SegWit doesn't mean anything right now. Just a fake hype. But it's back to the previous way. The dev has been hoping a lot with it.
that is how 99% of the altcoins work. a fake hype and then a pump. take a look at the history of each altcoin and you will see that. only bitcoin grows because of adoption in addition to hype from time to time. I'm having an hard time believing that ethereum will be pumped again to 0.03,
i don't think i have ever said ETH will go up to 0.03 although 0.03 is less than 3x rise and possible. why you don't agree on zcash and zcoin, especially zcoin with the new algo introducing anti-bot net? both can still increase a lot, if you compare them to etheruem
meh, maybe. Zcash specially is known to get dumped hard but i am generally not interested in these two. you can call it personal preference.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I haven't seen any promising development going on for Litecoin. Does it mean that it will die soon? I don't want to FUD, but I just want to make sure if LTC could be a good investment for long term, since I have been doubting myself of it. So, will Litecoin have a future? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) it is funny how this topic was bumped (thanks to whoever revived it). it is from nearly a year ago and as we can see litecoin is still alive and kicking, and also in the development front it has been growing a lot. we have seen SegWit be released for litecoin and we are now waiting for the miners to accept it. i say if any altcoin is to stay alive in the future, that altcoin is Litecoin.

i have never invested any bitcoin in any of the cloud mining service but i have watched many of them and read so many feedback on them. most of them are scams, some are shady, and rarely there is any legit. but they all will go down in flames. you can usually find out about the returns with some simple calculations, consider the fees they deduct and also consider the fact that difficulty is growing which means their fees are going to become bigger.

most people think only because they don't understand what is happening, then it must be random and this in not just about trading and gambling but in many other things in life, some people are too close minded. you should first do some research, study and then see how others are doing it and then say it is a gamble aka random.

I think market is trying to find a resistance point. IF bitcoin fall so will every other crypto. IF the resistance point is $600. We are fucked for months.
you are wrong on both points. because first of all altcoins are mostly moving irregardless of bitcoin price, so if it falls or rises they do their own thing. and also some of them are opposite of bitcoin price (ETC is one of them) meaning a rise means their fall. and also you are wrong about the bitcoin resistance levels, because they have been around $850 last time and each time it is tested, the level goes up. this time i expect something around 890 to 910 to shape up.

bitcoin is big and it will continue growing and widen the horizon of usage in the future but i don't think it can overcome paypal in the meaning of killing it. because first of all paypal is working with money and you can't kill that and also a big business like paypal is surely watching bitcoin and in case they feel threatened they will simply add bitcoin to their service and make money out of it.

signing a message with a known key is simple yet fool proof. and after all this time we have not seen any proof.
Its absolutely not fool proof you fool. he claims he is satoshi, or at the very least he is threatening to move satoshi coins which means having access to the keys. so can you explain to fools like me how signing the following message from a known satoshi keys is not proof, o wise one! Hi this is Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of bitcoin signing a message to prove my identity on 2017-1-28

Still bitcoin price is not stable yet it is keep changing. It is not possible to settle in stable position once it happens means many people will not use bitcoin any more. In my thought i am hoping there will big movement in ETH when compared to both ETC and LTC.
stable position for bitcoin means going up and down as big as 20-30 USD. and this has always been the case. specially when we see a certain price for so many repeated times. $20 may seem to you like a big amount but it is only 2% and you are wrong about usage, if someday price becomes stable for a much longer time, many people will start using bitcoin because that would be a day when bitcoin price is stable for you to be able to use it as a currency just the way you use USD,...

Hey there. For example Spectrecoin was valued at around 3300 satoshi with a 24h volume of 5-6 BTC. Now it has around 17 BTC 24h volume and its price is even lower than that. Can someone enlighten me on how this works? Sorry for the dumbness ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) still learning stuff about crypto and economics are you asking about price or volume because they are two different things, and although they affect each other but it is not like what you think. price goes up and down with changes in supply and demand when someone dumps or when there is a pump and a hype and people buy(pump) the coin. however the volume in both cases change only because when price is changing more traders come in and take actions. if price is going up, many buy in order to not miss out. many sell to take profit so volume grows. if price goes down, many sell to get out and save on more losses, and many buy at the lower prices and bottom to get ready for the rise again. so volume grows. and also when price changes bots go crazy ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

you what's funny? the fact that he says i don't want the publicity, the news sites say we don't print something we are not sure about, they claim to only say the truth, and all kinds of bullshit but they keep talking about a fraud.
signing a message with a known key is simple yet fool proof. and after all this time we have not seen any proof.
i say we shouldn't feed the trolls, the fraud, and the clickbait articles of news sites unless the next article they write contains the signed message,

It's strange, i use to sent 0.0001 or 0.0002 for every BTC i send. Now blockchain.info tells me to use 0.01 BTC for a 4 BTC transaction. I put 0.001 and the transfer went fine. Can anyone explain why you should so much in fees? 3600 USD with 9 USD on fees is the same as western union.
Wasn't bitcoin supposed to be different?
as a Sr. Member with so many posts you should already know that bitcoin fee is based on size in bytes not size in satoshi. so it doesn't matter if you are sending 3600 USD, 0.36 USD or 3 billion USD if you have 1 input your size in byte will be smaller so you pay smaller fee, and if you have hundreds of small input your size in bytes will be bigger and you will pay higher fee. if your wallet suggested a 0.01 BTC fee for your transaction it means you have a transaction as big as 10,000 bytes or about 10 kilo bytes

price rise is possible and will be possible for the future as long as we reach the mass adoption and price becomes stable at a high price.
but don't expect overnight rises of 100%, or 80% rise any more. they are not possible as the market size grows. as we go forward the rises are also becoming smaller for example the 100% rise still happens but in 8 months for example.

ETH i think it's done, it had its shining moment but now it's dumped and when it will go pos it will be forgotten,
i have no argument about ethereum being shit, and you can find it all over my post history. but that doesn't change the fact that it is being pump and dumped. and going POS will make it pump big time. for the time being i am mostly talking about people coming back to altcoin market and trading them instead. and ethereum dump has been over a while and now it seems like accumulation is happening ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FkxmI2g7.png&t=663&c=N2r7DEDIH2xCGA) litcoin is too old it will be pumped on the halving and nothing else,
LTC being old has never stopped Chinese from pumping it. zcash i think has more potential together with zcoin, and finally
i disagree. monero can still surprise us with another increase
although the time for anon coins seems to be over but i think it is still possible to see surprises out of XMR

Today was a CRAAAAAZY DAY! I've connected in the morning and saw that PascalCoin price increased by 900% and I disconnected. Got outside for like 6 hours and when I got home again, PascalCoin increased by 4800%!!!
welcome to the world of altcoins pump and dump ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) go on coinmarketcap.com and click on the header of the table saying "% Change (24 h)" to sort descending every day and see a big percentage on top. How this happened? Someone pumped it? Who? Why? How? Can this happen again? Maybe with another coin?
- somebody(s) decided to pump this coin. - yes - possibly a pump group - to make profit - that is a secret ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) - yes - yes every day read above about coinmarketcap If anybody can clear things up for me, I'll be so glad ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) it was a dead coin that someone decided to accumulate about a week ago and price started rising a bit, and obviously the volume picked up too. then pump started, first phase yesterday with a small rise and shakeout and then today with the big rise and cashout. now watch for dead cat bounces and mini rises because of it until we are back at 560 satoshi again.

bitcoin needs altcoins because it will be the testground of some implementation before going to bitcoin
well that is wrong. because we never have tested anything on altcoins before adding to bitcoin and we never will. because simply there is a testnet ( https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Testnet) available which is completely the same as bitcoin and we have always been testing things there before release.
