2581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The point of Dogecoin. on: July 01, 2021, 03:06:27 PM
Is there really any points of dogecoin other than to meme it and use it as a pump and dump?

When the creator of dogecoin project himself left the project, then what could be the point of it? Few years back he had sold his dogecoin holdings to buy a new Honda car. Had he known that Elon is going to promote his project in future, he would hve sold it. But the creator himself confirmed that dogecoin was created as a joke so I don't see any point in it apart from a puppet to the pump and dump players. It is definitely not worth any investment.
2582  Economy / Economics / Re: African regulators warn cryptocurrencies may not be legitimate on: July 01, 2021, 02:03:33 PM
Well, let's not generalize Africa. It's not a country, rather it's a continent. South Africa is an African country who are friendly towards crypto. There are definitely some countries shown negative attitude towards crypto, but that does not define Africa as a whole. I know Zimbabwe is facing hyperinflation, but crypto isn't going to help there as it didn't do for Venezuela.

It's all about mindset. Most of the African countries are poor today because of European expansionist mentality. It wouldn't be incorrect to say that Europe's extreme wealth is mainly stolen from Africa and India. Then their fascist rulers made it even worse.
2583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: George Soros is now officially trading bitcoin. Good or bad? on: July 01, 2021, 12:07:44 PM
OK, so George Soros is now officially trading bitcoin at his investment firm Soros Fund Management. His intentions are unclear but he is well known for being a ruthless financier. Do you think this a good or bad thing for bitcoin?

As per some sources, Soros Fund management LLC manages assets worth over 5.3 billion usd. So such kind of money mongers are never a good news for the crypto market. While Soros is just trying to make some more money, it will be much easier for him to manipulate the market for his own gain. With this kind of money in pocket, it's never a good news for small traders like us. We have already seen what money power can do here in case of Elon Musk, so I personally wouldn't want another billionaire to jump into crypto market for sure!
2584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 650 U.S. banks will soon be able to offer bitcoin purchases on: July 01, 2021, 10:57:07 AM
I have tried to find a similar topic and wondering how this news was missed in the forum. 650 US banks will open Bitcoin purchases, I think it's not a small adaption if it happens really. Most probably that service will be provided by NCR banks, users will be able to purchase Bitcoin through NCR’s 800,000 ATMs as well. But surprisingly I notice Bitcoin's price drop after this news (Lol). However, I think this step will make it easier to trade Bitcoin for US citizens.

Please read the news source for more details: $6 Billion NCR Opens Bitcoin Purchases To 650 Banks And Credit Unions

That's not going to make a lot of difference because US customers are already using bitcoin exchanges like Binance since a long time now. Also there are privileged enough to use bitcoin ATMs which are installed across the country. Adoption by Banks is just going to make bitcoin more visible to the masses and possibly increase its credibility. But i really hope that as a superpower US will help other nations to adopt bitcoin and come out of regressive mentality.
2585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The First Bank In Mexico Is About to Start Accepting Bitcoin on: June 30, 2021, 05:54:46 PM
After the statement that they are eyeing Bitcoin/crypto, Mexico's central bank was quick to counter, telling "The country's financial institutions are not authorized to carry out and offer to the public operations with virtual assets such as Bitcoin" and that those who do will face "applicable sanctions."

All this is a war of words and it's not yet easy to predict what's going to happen next. For now, the central bank seems to have got a small victory, at least by slowing down the adoption there.

Full story: https://www.btctimes.com/news/Mexico-central-bank-blocks-ricardo-salinas-bitcoin-plans

That's hilarious! A businessman has the guts to respond to their finance ministry in such a way, may have some serious connections at the political level and also the power to purchase beaurocrats to turn the tide in his favor.

But it's quite clear that Salinas has just conveyed his willingness to adopt crypto without any regulatory backing. At least for the time being! We will see what future holds for the crypto community of Mexico.
2586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin Questionnaire on: June 30, 2021, 03:34:40 PM

CONCLUSION:
This project made me understand that the enemies or people campaigning against Bitcoin are not the novice but the misinformed, the narcissist and people unwilling to embrace change.
This thread is therefore to gather information that will form the bases for my campaign in my second outing.
Thank you all.

Can't agree more! People are indeed misinformed. Banks and traditional Financial corporations are taking the lead to deliberately spread the misinformation. I often receive emails from my banks where they try to promote their own financial products and bitcoin always make appearances to those mailers where they advise people to stay away from bitcoin. Banks have their own agenda, no doubt! But that's how the misinformation spreads like wildfire. But unfortunately we can't do anything either because bitcoin is not yet legal in my country.
2587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where can I find a fair payout and gambling site? on: June 30, 2021, 01:33:11 PM
Good day! What kind of gambling games would you like to play? Are there any that you prefer more? For example, I can only advise you on the basis of what I am interested in. I tried playing roulette, slots, and even poker and baccarat, but most of all I liked playing the blackjack card game https://blackjackdoc.com/ . Payments are always fast and, most importantly, honest. Even recently, I have been thinking more and more about quitting my job and moving on to earn money through this game.

Lol! Leaving job and trying to make money through gambling is the worst decision anyone can take. You nee to understand that online gambling is here for entertainment and not to make you rich in whatsoever way unless you find some flaws in their system and you start exploiting that.

Also the website you are trying to promote, looks like a casino review website which mainly promotes fiat based casinos. Makes no/little sense in a crypto forum to be honest.
2588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will other countries adopt Bitcoin as legal tender after El Salvador's recent mo on: June 30, 2021, 12:01:27 PM
El Salvador became the first country in the world to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender. In a time where Fiat currencies are devaluing because of inflation, this is a pretty smart move. It's no secret that cryptocurrencies are becoming extremely popular in third-world countries. If this keeps up, Bitcoin may be able to destroy Fiat in its entirety.

Now, it's only a matter of time before other countries follow suit in adopting Bitcoin as legal tender. It's yet the time where a developed country hasn't adopted Bitcoin as legal tender. The United States, The United Kingdom, and other powerful countries still rely on Fiat. Imagine what will happen if they decide to abandon Fiat in favor of Bitcoin. It would decentralize the global economy.

Do you think other countries will follow El Salvador's decision of adopting Bitcoin as legal tender? If not, why? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Smiley

Looks difficult for other countries to adopt crypto the way El-Salvador adopted cryptocurrency. This country has a population of only 6 million so it is quite easy for its President to carry out such reforms. But for bigger countries, it might not be as easy as El-Salvador. But some smaller countries like Malta, Curacao or Vanuatu etc may consider the same, but bigger countries will have to go through a lot of changes for the to aopt cryptos. Remember, legalizing and adoption are not the same thing!
2589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gov must have power to reverse transactions, says co-chair of blockchain caucus on: June 30, 2021, 05:26:50 AM
Not everyone is smart enough to understand cryptocurrency and its technological benefits. Being a congressman, doesn't make you smart! Being a politician, doesn't make you knowledgeable enough to comment on anything. Even in my country, a politician compared bitcoin with ponzi scheme in parliament back in 2017. Stupid pople are everywhere and we must ignore them for our own benefit. This is one of such cases!
2590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terms and condition a must read before signing up any online gambling site on: June 29, 2021, 05:29:24 PM
A whole lot of persons have shared their experience lately how some online casinos tend to frustrate them during withdraws, declining their uploaded certificate s for KYC verification. In my own opinion I would suggest before clicking and accepting any terms and condition given by most of this casinos it's better one analyze what he/she is signing up and understand to what extent one can easily deposit and withdrawal from such sites

Gambling is gradually becoming an occupation mostly now where vertically everything is done digitally and many get their major source of income gambling so it wouldn't be wise if after accumulating series of progressive winnings you find it difficult to withdraw from such sites.

I'm not good at referrals so I don't get blamed if the unexpected occurs in your cause of gambling but I recommend you do thorough research before depositing your hard earned token on any casino to avoid getting your self worked up by the so called casino sites.

Lastly gamble responsibly its better to earn in cents than to loss in dollars get other source of income to complement your gambling so you don't lose out completely on your fund because gambling remains a game of probability and so responsible approach keeps you in check

Well, reading terms and conditions is the most important part while choosing a new crypto casino. I would like to identify few very important points that one must read,

1. KYC requirements
2. If joining bonus is offered then wagering requirements
3. List of banned countries

These are the most important points to read in terms and conditions. If not clear, go ahead and ask their support team or head to bitcointalk forum ANN thread to see other's experience.
2591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Factors affecting bitcoin business on: June 28, 2021, 07:23:20 PM
Hi op,

The two factors that you have included in your thread are affecting the businesses related to bitcoin or cryptocurrencies in general. Legality is definitely a big issue because whe anything is not made legal by the government, people are usually afraid to get their hands into it. That's the case with many businesses aroud cryptos.

But there are many technical factors as well like, slow transaction processing speed, high fees are also affecting bitcoin in a big way. That's why it is mostly considered as an asset rather than a currency. For transaction, many people including me prefer altcoins.
2592  Economy / Exchanges / Re: British Financial watchdog FCA bans Binance crypto-currency exchange on: June 28, 2021, 05:29:25 PM

Just notice the last paragraph. I don't think even the international website if Binance will continue to operate in Uk.

They will continue to operate semi illegally/legally depending on how you look, they will move to some other country (on paper), they will claim they have blocked UK customers and that's all, the same trick they've tried with the US version. This is not going to end well in the long run and I wonder how much time is left for them, the IRS and the DOJ are starting to get interested in them so at one point they will have to stop all this running away and try to come clean and robbery regulations.

That's bad! Running their operations illegally in any country will land them in a big mess with the regulators and enforcement agencies. Moreover, the existing UK customers may loose their funds if they want to stick with Binance even after this directive from FCA. I see FCA has not mentioned any exit window for their existing customers. That's kind of strange and childish behavior.
2593  Economy / Exchanges / Re: British Financial watchdog FCA bans Binance crypto-currency exchange on: June 28, 2021, 10:53:35 AM
This is the lonk from the FCA website related to the ban of Binance in UK.

https://www.fca.org.uk/news/news-stories/consumer-warning-binance-markets-limited-and-binance-group

It says,

Quote
Binance Markets Limited is not permitted to undertake any regulated activity in the UK. This firm is part of a wider Group (Binance Group).

Due to the imposition of requirements by the FCA, Binance Markets Limited is not currently permitted to undertake any regulated activities without the prior written consent of the FCA.

No other entity in the Binance Group holds any form of UK authorisation, registration or licence to conduct regulated activity in the UK.

The Binance Group appear to be offering UK customers a range of products and services via a website, Binance.com.

Just notice the last paragraph. I don't think even the international website of Binance will continue to operate in Uk.
2594  Economy / Gambling / Re: Pragmatic play slots not available in my region on: June 27, 2021, 05:43:37 PM
Hi, I love slots and I play slots whenever I have a chance to but as much as I love playing slots I don't really earn much in them. Nostly the good games are not available in my region and it really sucks. Can someone explain why they don't give access to games with great payout to people from other regions? I find it quite unfair.

You are probably trying some fiat based casinos to play slot games. Because as far as I am aware, crypto based casinos do not have geographical restrictions. So you may try some crypto based casinos to have wider choice of games and entertainment.  But if you really want to make money, try sports betting. If you just want to spend some leisure time, then try slots and other similar games. These are not made for making money, rather just pure entertainment and some adrenaline rush!
2595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China's deparure from BTC on: June 27, 2021, 12:26:48 PM
Due to China's departure from Bitcoin, Western societies can re-establish their position at the forefront of new financial markets of the 21st century. Western Nations that wish to counter China's rising economic power will find this move by China to be a positive step.

If you are expecting that China's exit from Bitcoin will make them poorer or weak, then you nees to re-think seriously. At the same time if you are thinking that adoption of bitcoin will help western countries to rise their economic power, same thinking exercise is needed.

You believe it or not, China thinks 50 years ahead. Their plan for next 50 years is ready and actively being monitored by their president's office. They also make room for surprises and contingency plans are also ready at the same time! So we are happy that China has decided to move out of bitcoin because we don't certainly want an authoritarian rule over bitcoin miners. And  that's it!
2596  Other / Off-topic / Re: India launches Antitrust probe against Google? on: June 25, 2021, 04:59:27 PM
The competition regulator on Tuesday ordered an investigation into the conduct of Google in the smart TV segment over allegations that,
The company's agreement with smart TV manufacturers restricted the development and usage of alternative version of Android.

     COMPLAINTS
The complainant filed by antitrust lawyer Kshitiz Arya and Purushottam Anand in may last year alleges that Google bars any company that acquired the licence for this Android TV platform from working with this competitors.
“If a TV manufacturer intends to use Google's operating system, you have to enter into certain agreements.
These agreements prohibit you from manufacturing any other divice, whether it is televisions or phone on any forked version of Android,” a person involved in the matter told mint in October.

it's going to bad impact Google?

That's a serious allegation! If a TV manufacturer enters into such an agreement with Google, then they simply can't expand their product offerings! How silly is that! Manufacturers are anyways paying Google to use their operating system. O such kind of prohibition doesn't make sense!

I wasn't aware about this case, but I will try to fetch more information about it now. Indian is a very important market for Google so I am sure they will try to find an amicable solution even out of court
2597  Economy / Gambling / Re: Playcoiners 🚀 Made by players for playcoiners on: June 25, 2021, 02:42:43 PM
Nice and clean design while viewing from mobile. I see you have mentioned in the FAQ that, this casino license is still pending and currently is beings process by the licensing authority of Belize. So is your company allowed to operate in the market?

Also as there is no mention of KYC in your FAQ, I presume you will only require KYC if you suspect any wrongdoings or fraud attempt.

Welcome to Bitcointalk. Wish you a pleasant stay here!
2598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Always use ip address from El Salvador to shop online on: June 25, 2021, 05:59:32 AM
I am not sure how it will help to pump bitcoin in anyway! I have used a few VPNs, and I have never seen El-Salvador as a routing address ever. Firstly, is there a VPN available that would route you through a server located in El Salvador?

Secondly, even if companies see that more traffic is coming from this country, how it would help to pump bitcoin? Not making sense! A little more explanation would be nice!

If we all started demanding it there would be a domino effect and most VPN providers would have to have VPN servers in El Salvador, hiring more engineers there and hardware/infrastructure.

Also, worldwide business people would realize that El Salvador is trending in many ways on the internet creating ripple effects in the whole economy.
If El Salvador is seen worldwide as a biz galvanizer it will attract more money than Barak Obama giving a speech...

Sorry, I am a bit short of a better explanation but I think you get the idea. People would say, wait these people are really passionate about El Salvador... And that means money attraction and business galvanization.

That would create opportunities for El-Salvador as the local population will find employment. Probably the name will find more visibility in the business world. But a country with only 6 million population is not an enticing proposition to any business even if they are trending in the biz world. Had it been a densely populated country, the businesses would have shown interest.

Also I fail to understand how bitcoin will pump if it happens. Those domino effecta and ripple effects and other business jargons are ok but how it would help bitcoin? No way! I want it to happen but seems like an imaginary expectation. Apologies, I prefer to stay in reality!
2599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Always use ip address from El Salvador to shop online on: June 25, 2021, 05:04:48 AM
Please always use ip address from El Salvador to shop online and surf the web.

Websites will notice that they are getting much more internet traffic from El Salvador, which means it will be trending even more and pumping bitcoin more.

Soon most trustable VPN providers will be forced to have servers in 'El Salvador'. Let's pump it.  Cool

If you don't know which country to use, choose 'El Salvador' IP address. Thank you!

If you don't use any VPN just send emails to VPN providers asking for VPN servers located in El Salvador... Live chat!

2600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recognizing Gambling Disorders, Symptoms of Severe Gambling Addiction on: June 24, 2021, 05:22:07 PM
In the last few hours I personally do self-introspection and analyze these symptoms may be in myself, family or friends. and as a result there are some of my friends who do seem to have these symptoms ;
1. Should I shut up and watch him continue gambling.
2. Or risk the friendship to fall apart by suggesting him to go to a psychiatrist, because because in my place people who go to a psychiatrist are identical to people who have mental disorders.

Pretty solid list of symptoms you have gathered here op. Now coming back to your question, you must try to help your family or friend who are ahowing such symptoms. Definitely you will risk the friendship, but eventually you will help a life to get back on track.

If gambling is legal in your country, you must have a national helpline number to help fight gambling addiction. If not legal, then try to find some NGOs who work on such addiction. I understand the social taboo you are referring, so try to find the help which is not closer to your area. But the help must be provided.
