2581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] World Championship 2021: Carlsen Vs. Nepomniachtchi on: November 19, 2021, 06:26:47 AM
Chess is probably my favorite game, even though I'm not a very good chess player. It's good to see other forum members, who are interested in chess. Grin
I would never place any bets on chess games. This seems too weird to me.Chess is not gambling, even though people are betting money for other players.
Magnus Carlsen is the obvious favorite and I'm 99.9% sure that he will win. There's no point of placing bets for Nepomniachtchi or a draw.
2582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Adoption Report Card - Year 12 on: November 19, 2021, 06:07:45 AM
Medium of exchange means money to be spent for daily activities(not investment asset).
I guess that by medium of exchange you mean store of value.
Bitcoin cannot be poor man's money, because poor people don't have any money to invest in Bitcoin.
Your assumptions about rich men and middle class men are just an assumption. Can you backup  your assumptions with any facts, statistics or other kind of evidence? If not, then you are just writing BS.
We all know that Bitcoin adoption isn't advancing very fast, because many people and businesses are still scared of the price volatility, but slowly Bitcoin is becoming a dominating global asset/currency.
2583  Economy / Economics / Re: Introducing a state-issued cryptocurrency on: November 18, 2021, 11:13:55 AM
Union Finance Ministry has take a decision on a state-issued cryptocurrency soon but ban all private cryptocurrencies. The VHP leader had sought a ban on all cryptocurrencies alleging its usage to fund terrorism, drugs and other 'anti national activities'. As all private cryptocurrencies are still not considered as legal tender or coin in India, but the govt may introduce an official digital currency in India.

I think its a good decision by government.. What you guys think about it?

1.Any link to the source of this information?
2.Can you explain to us why this is a good decision by the government?
It seems to me that the Indian government and central bank are full with anti-crypto boomers, who keep repeating the same old "crypto is a currency of the criminals and terrorists" type of propaganda.
If India ever launches it's own state-issued cryptocurrency, who can guarantee that this state-issued cryptocurrency won't be used by criminals and terrorists?
The government coin is going to be entirely pure and free of any crime and corruption, but the cryptocurrencies are a source of evil, corruption and crime.Sounds like a joke to me.
2584  Economy / Gambling / Re: OFFERING MY INDIANA RESIDENCY TO PLACE LEGAL LEGITIMATE SPORTS BETS on: November 18, 2021, 07:22:28 AM
What makes gambling in Indiana so special? There are other states in the USA with more liberal regulations.
Why are you even offering such service? Can't you make money in other ways, that are more legit?
Offering a shady service that is bypassing the gambling restrictions in the USA doesn't seem trustworthy to me.How can you prove that someone can actually trust you?Do you accept some kind of escrow service, where the customer can tell the middleman to release the funds to you, after you have successfully conducted your service?
Good luck with your business,OP.
2585  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's Recent Drop Below $60K Is Not Worrisome, Analyst Says on: November 18, 2021, 06:56:23 AM
No experienced Bitcoiner is worrying about the Bitcoin price.
Only the newbies are gonna worry about every 5-10% price drop.
A price correction after a new ATH was pretty much expected. There's no surprise and nothing shocking.
Many traders wanted to sell at ATH and take the profits. Now many traders are looking to buy the dip,so they are going to wait for a lower price to enter the market again.
I guess that the whole purpose of this analyst was to make the newbies feel better. Grin
I kinda feel sorry for the noobs.Freaking out every time the price drops must be really tiresome. Grin
2586  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buying the Deep (Bitcoin). on: November 17, 2021, 12:32:43 PM
So excited to see Bitcoin coming down to $59,000 after waiting for a long period of time to see such opportunity to buy more Bitcoin, I just bought 4.5 Bitcoins at the present price which am feeling happy for at last am among the new Bitcoin whales at the moment.

1.59K USD is not "the dip".It can be simple price volatility or a "bear trap".
You should have bough BTC one or two months ago, when the price was below 50K USD.Why were you waiting for so long?I guess that you got excited by the October bull run,but you wanted the bull run to end with a price correction,in order to buy some BTC.
2.Buying 4.5 BTC doesn't mean that you are joining the Bitcoin whales.I think that only the people, who own more than 1000 BTC can be classified as Bitcoin whales.4.5 BTC makes you a medium-sized investor/HODLer.
Anyway,congratulations for your decision.
2587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are implications of total satellite destruction on Bitcoin? on: November 17, 2021, 12:10:46 PM
It's getting weird how Bitcoiners are trying to connect every possible event that happens with it's potential impact over Bitcoin/blockchain. Grin  Bitcoin will be fine. The blockchain doesn't rely on satellites that much.
If there's was a real possibility of a Kesler Syndrome, then why would Russia destroy their satellite by using a missile?Wouldn't this lead to the destruction of other Russian satellites?Would the Russians shoot themselves in the foot in such a ridiculous way?I think that the Russians aren't that stupid.

2588  Economy / Economics / Re: Legalization and Standardization of Organ Donation on: November 17, 2021, 07:18:56 AM
I don't really think that you really need blockchain technology in order to implement this idea,OP.
A simple database can do the same work.
Anyway,I don't think that creating a marketplace for human organs is humane and/or morally justified.
Mostly likely all the criminals/gangsters/mobsters will take advantage of such "marketplace" by killing more people and selling their organs.
I better solution would be the state to make it mandatory for all people to declare their will to donate their organs after their death. Most of the transplantation recipients don't have any money to buy a human organ.
I know that you want to make a business out of this idea, but this doesn't seem right.
You should focus on other business ideas.
2589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A positive evaluation of gambling. on: November 17, 2021, 06:55:37 AM
That's a great list,OP.
However, all the skills mentioned in your list apply mostly for the gamblers, who play poker.
All the other gambling games(dice, slots, etc) can only help you to develop gambling addiction and nothing else.
I want to quote Rick from the show "Rick and Morty":"To live is to risk it all."
Life is all about taking risks, trying new stuff and having proper risk management.
You can't just stay in a bubble of safety/comfort zone and restrain from taking any risks at all.
You can't achieve anything in life that way.
Gambling can teach you proper risk management, but only if you have the mental and psychic stability.
Otherwise you will fall into the trap of addictions and depression.

2590  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto Veterans and Legendaries: Need Advice on my Bitcoin Strategy on: November 17, 2021, 06:32:50 AM
So you've made 650K USD and you want financial advise from random people over the internet?
This is cringe,bruh...
You've made 650K USD and you want to make 10 times more?I'm like WTF.Are you greedy or something?
You can do whatever you want.Diversify your portfolio with various assets(don't buy altcoins,it's pointless),put your money into index funds,HODL a big portion of your crypto and use the smaller one to trade. There are many opportunities out there.
If I ever made 650K USD in profits,I would just retire without thinking about making more profits, but that's just me.
I live in a country, where life is relatively cheap.650K USD isn't that much,if you live in New York or Los Angeles. Grin
2591  Economy / Economics / Re: Possible market crash in the near future? on: November 16, 2021, 11:39:18 AM
There are (as of  now) 14029 cryptocurrencies listed in coinmarketcap.com.
A case has been made (repeatedly) for  the existence of a bubble in the cryptocurrency market.
Yeah, I understand cryptocurrencies are volatile, high risk investments. But, are you guys expecting a market crash anytime soon?

A price crash is always to be expected.Multiple bubbles have been formed in the past and more price bubbles will be formed in the future.I'm not talking about the cryptocurrency market only. All financial markets are forming price bubbles in one way or another. There's nothing wrong with that. You should blame the central banks and their endless money printing for the formation of price bubbles.
There's nothing wrong with having a price crash.Price crashes are a way for the markets to return to a healthier condition.
There are 14029 coins and tokens listed on coinmarketcap, but 99% of them are dead shitcoins with almost no daily trading volume.
The large quantity of shitcoins/tokens has nothing to do with any upcoming potential price crash, since most of them aren't active at all.
2592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ecosystem’s weakness on: November 16, 2021, 11:12:43 AM
1.This is just a proposal, not an actual ban. There's no need to panic over proposals, gossips and all kinds of unnecessary drama.
2.The idea of banning a business, just because that business consumes "dirty" electricity which was produced by burning coal is ridiculous. The government will have to ban all the businesses and households that are consuming "dirty" electricity as well. All businesses should be treated equally.Right? Grin
3.Sweden and Europe in general aren't important for crypto mining at all,so why do you even care about this news.
4.The idea of reviving ASICs mining doesn't sound good to me.It will create more problems rather than become a solution for the fake "environmental" crypto mining problem.
2593  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon -- Milton Friedman on: November 16, 2021, 07:31:21 AM
If you read books about macroeconomics, you know that there are two types of inflation.
The first one is caused by the increasing money supply(the one you are writing about) and the second one is caused by increased production costs(oil and gas prices going up).The second type can lead to stagflation sometimes. The production cost inflation can be influenced or even caused by the money supply inflation.
Perhaps Milton Friedman is right.
The politicians/governments are addicted to inflation, because inflation decreases the value of all debts and increases the tax revenue.
I don't know about the supply chain issues in your country. There aren't any supply chain issues in my country.
Maybe this problem isn't necessarily linked to inflation and money supply. The closed borders and all the lockdowns in 2020 kinda destroyed some supply chains and those supply chains have to be rebuilt.

2594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: November 16, 2021, 07:05:40 AM
Big success for Serbia. The victory against Portugal was great.Congratulations for the Serbian national team.
I don't expect Italy to achieve something big in the World Cup.Usually teams that have won a World Cup or a Euro fail at the next World Cup or Euro.Spain was the only exception(and maybe France in 1998 and 2000).

I think FIFA should introduce an elimination preminary stage where countries with poor ranking  like San Marino, Faroe Islands, Liechtenstein, Malta, Kazakhstan etc will play each other and get eliminated while the better countries will qualify to play higher ranked countries thus prevent a scenario where a team will lose with a wide goal margins just like San Marino 0 -10 lose against England, France 8 Kazakhstan 0, as well as enabling some players to increase their international goal tallies scoring easy goals against weak opponents, there is a need for readjustment of the fixtures.

All the teams of the really small countries are amateurs.I don't know why do they have to play against professional players? No disrespect for the small countries, but why do they have to participate in these tournaments, since they have zero chance of qualifying for a World Cup or Euro Cup?
I don't know why Engand had to humiliate San Marino with such a defeat. Can't Gareth Southgate just let some younger players play against San Marino and give Harry Kane a break?
2595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kids into Cryptocurrency Mining on: November 16, 2021, 06:42:24 AM
1.I don't think that this thread belongs to the Bitcoin discussion forum, since we are talking about altcoin mining.
2.Those kids aren't making 32K USD per month.Their father is making 32K USD per month. He bought all the mining equipment. He owns that mining equipment.I don't believe that the kids "have built" anything and I don't believe that the kids are maintaining that mining equipment.
Like another forum member have mentioned, those kids must be really careful when bragging about their "achievement".I don't want some criminal to kidnap them and ask for a cryptocurrency ransom.
In conclusion:This is just another clickbait article....
2596  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is Bitcoin up since after Dump? on: November 15, 2021, 12:28:38 PM
1.This is not a price dump. This is pretty little correction after the ATH.Some people might not even call it a price correction.5-10% ups and downs are normal price volatility for Bitcoin.
2.Nobody can predict where the market will go.
It can go down, because the bull run was kinda exhausted and any FUD right now can cause massive panic selling and a price drop.
However, the price might go up,because there's still a lot of bullish optimism across the BTC market and any big FUD news are missing right now.December is one of the bullish months for Bitcoin. The only exception, which I remember was December 2018,when the Bitcoin price decreased.
2597  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if $70k was Bitcoin ATH for the year? on: November 15, 2021, 12:07:51 PM
I would be definitely satisfied with a 70K USD Bitcoin price at the end of 2021.
I'm OK with a 60K or even a 50K price. If you buy low and sell high, everything is good. The exact price doesn't matter that much.Don't get too greedy, chasing maximum profits might lead you to mistakes.
There will always be regret about when did I joined the BTC market, but that doesn't matter anymore.

What's your definition of being satisfied? Is it really necessary for Bitcoin to reach $70,000 before the end of the year?

What if it didn't reach that target? It's not satisfying?

As long as Bitcoin will keep up the momentum, that's better compared to the quick jump.

I'm wondering about the same thing. Some people won't get satisfied even if they make 10 million dollars per month.Others will be satisfied with the little they have.Satisfaction is pretty vague.
Reaching a 70K price isn't a "do or die" goal.Bitcoin won't end,if it didn't reach that price by December 31 2021.
2598  Economy / Economics / Re: Credit cards | A scam or a tool? on: November 15, 2021, 07:16:14 AM
Credit cards are just a tool.It depends of how do you use them.
Use them responsibly and you will get some benefits(cashback, higher credit score,etc.). Using them responsibly means paying off your credit card debt as fast as possible, before the interest rates strike you.
Use them irresponsibly and you will get into debt.Maybe that's what the banks want, but this is isn't a scam.
Nobody is forcing you to use a credit card. You choose whether or not to use credit cards.
Debt and borrowing money isn't bad.It can help you scale your business or pay for some necessary expenses.
What matters the most is how effectively you are using the money you borrowed.

2599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Football Fan tokens and gambling on: November 15, 2021, 06:49:19 AM
I remember that I was surfing Telegram groups and I have found a group about the Juventus fan token.
That was the first time I have ever heard about fan tokens.I immediately thought that this is a scam.
Are those tokens really connected to the football clubs?Maybe the token developers are just trying to squeeze out money from die hard football fans by creating some fake fan tokens.
I don't get the point of the fan token business model. The fans might get some perks like merch or tickets, but can't they just buy discounted merchandise and tickets by using fiat money?
Tokens aren't really needed in this process.
I'm 100% sure that the fan tokens would never be used for gambling/sports betting.
2600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When Religion and Finance [Bitcoin] Overlap and Clash on: November 15, 2021, 06:17:31 AM
AFAIK,interest rates and borrowing money are forbidden by Islam, but Islamic banking still exists.
How come Bitcoin is halal in some Islamic countries and haram in others? It seems to me that this is just the opinion of the Islamic clerics. Some clerics interpret the Quran,Sharia law and the hadiths in one way, other clerics interpret them in another way.It looks like interpretation is more important than the facts.
It's OK that some people will refuse to use Bitcoin, because they think that it's against their morals and/or religious law.
That's the great thing about Bitcoin.Nobody is obligated to use BTC and everyone participates in the community voluntarily.
