I think viewership itself is the biggest issue. In India there is almost negligible viewership of women's cricket despite of having such brilliant players. We lover to admire these players by reading the news of their score the next day. Rarely anyone would watch it live. This doesn't motivates BCCI to create a full fledged women's IPL they are trying with these small triangular series tactically keeping the matches on rest day of men's matches but yet I don't think the viewership would have gone up that much. Cricket is a profit making business in India no one wants to lose money by organizing a cricket match.

Viewership and revenue could be an issue with WBBL as well. I don't think that it is brining in any profit for the Australian cricket board. But they keep continuing with this tournament, because it beings a lot of exposure and opportunity to the women players. The BCCI also could have done the same and it could have given a lot of media attention to the women's game. But they remain primarily concerned about the revenues.

Your point is correct. But I don't think it's a problem of their players. This is the problem of their cricket board or the team management. Their management should ensure all facilities to the cricketers. And obviously their rules should be strictly followed. They have a lot of internal problems in the cricket board. Most people are corrupted. Even last year the ICC decided to ban them for political interference on the board.
Here is the link : https://www.aljazeera.com/sports/2019/7/18/zimbabwe-cricket-suspended-over-political-interference

The ICC should have continued with the suspension until they sort out their issues. Now they have the test status, and as a result they get around $100 million in funding for the 8-year circle. Better teams, such as Ireland and Afghanistan receive only a fraction of this amount. And the most tragic thing is that most of this amount is lost in corruption and bureaucracy.

Pakistan have lost one of their last three matches against Zimbabwe. Everyone is talking about it. But I would say Zimbabwe played very well throughout the series. Even in the first match I thought Zimbabwe might win. But Pakistan bowlers are very experienced. So Zimbabwe was not able to win. Zimbabwe does not have the opportunity to play against any of the big teams. As far as I can remember, they last played with a big team in December 2017. They played against South Africa. If they host more series against big teams, they may be able to play better in the future.

The problem with Zimbabwe is that we don't know who are the players included in their squad one month from now. Every now and then, the players rebel against the management and travel to England or Australia to play club cricket. They have no stability in their team and this will be having a negative impact on the cohesion and team spirit. But all that said, they performed well against Pakistan.

I pretty much support advent of woman cricket but personally I don't find it as entertaining. I know judging a female match in comparison to a men's match would always make the comparison look one sided but I feel that the energy is somewhat missing in female games. The games are too slow. Not because of run rate but the whole context of the games move slow. Earlier I thought It's because of no crowd but after watching IPL without crowd I still feel women's cricket is not worth the watch.

I have talked to a lot many female cricket fans. Ironically, less than 10% of them have ever watched a ladies cricket match. That tells a lot about the popularity of women's cricket in India. I am not going to blame the women. In Australia, they have the WBBL, which gives the players a lot of exposure. But here in India, we don't have anything of that type.

Well.. Pakistan in some trouble here. They are 71/4 after 14.4 overs. Babar Azam is still out there and the required run rate is below 6 runs per over. Right now the match looks 50/50 for both the sides. Considering the fact that the Zimbabwe bowlers are inexperienced, Pakistan should be able to win this match. But first Babar should settle in and try to build a good partnership with Iftikhar Ahmed.
2586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any idea when the Bitcoin Mempool will stop being so congested? on: November 03, 2020, 10:57:41 AM
Why would miners care to find a solution from an economic standpoint? The confirmation time is the same whether the network is congested or not but the fees they get isn't. It is during these times that they make more money from the transaction fees.

This is what happens when they go after the short-term benefits, by ignoring the long-term advantage. If the transaction fee remains high, then the revenue for the miners may increase in the near-term. But eventually this will force the users to move away from Bitcoin, and use cheaper coins such as Litecoin or Bitcoin Cash. After sometime, the fee reward will also drop as the number of transactions decline.
2587  Economy / Economics / Re: Second lockdown in Europe can their economy survive this?. on: November 03, 2020, 10:47:23 AM
Well, the world is not ready for this pandemic in the first place let alone a second one. This will definitely hurt them but if they had formulated an economic strategy to combat the impacts of pandemic then they will be good for awhile. It will be most impactful on small businesses definitely as most of them during the first wave was not prioritized during the relief operations which is for the good because there are more working class than business class.

It has been almost 8 months since the pandemic spread outside China. The governments are doing their best, but the lack of knowledge about the virus is playing a negative role here. But I would put the blame on WHO. They behaved in a very uncompetitive manner in the beginning. The director general (Tedros) was changing his stance every now and then. I am quite surprised that this guy is not fired from his position yet.
2588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏏🏏 sportbet.one 🏏🏏 [IPL 2020] Prediction pool and discussion 🏏🏏 on: November 03, 2020, 10:29:00 AM
Bad suggestions. Why make changes when the team combination is pretty much perfect just for one match? Underestimating SRH is stupidity given the form they are in. MI should give it their without making any pointless changes.

I disagree when you say that the MI team combination is perfect. Their pacers (apart from Bumrah) have gone for a lot of runs. Trent Boult has taken the wickets, but he has conceded too many runs in pressure situations. There is nothing wrong with giving one match to Mitchell McClenaghan. Who knows? He may end like Lockie Ferguson in KKR. If they don't want to replace Boult, then Pattinson can be rested.
2589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 03, 2020, 10:07:21 AM
As expected, Pakistan have started good in the 3rd ODI also and they are struggling at 62/3 at the end of 15. The run rate seems right for Zimbabwe but they have lost more wickets. Other teams may have recovered from this score but considering zimbabwe, it will be hard from them to establish a partnership from here and try to reach at least 250.

As usual, the experienced players are rescuing Zimbabwe. Sean Williams is batting with 57, while Brendan Taylor got out after scoring 56. They are over dependent on the 3-4 experienced players, with the others in playing XI just making up the numbers. They may end up with somewhere around 250, and it is not going to be enough to defeat Pakistan in this pitch.
2590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 03, 2020, 09:27:18 AM
KKR has 14 points but Run rate is not good.
SRH has better Run rate but only has 12 points so its must win game for them, doesn't matter big win or narrow win, KKR is out if SRH wins tonight.

That's right. NRR for Kolkata Knight Riders is -0.214, while that for SRH is +0.555. There is a huge gap in the run rate between both the teams. But in the end, it is the points that matter. If SRH get defeated today, then they'll end up with 12 points, which will allow KKR with 14 points to progress to the playoff stage. In that case, it will be RCB vs KKR in the first eliminator match.
2591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 03, 2020, 06:48:06 AM
Jason holder is more like power hitter who came at the death overs where Nabi won't really fit that is why they swapped Jason holder in the place of Nabi and also he can bowl some overs in case if needed.SRH batting is the real key to win this match because they got the bowling unit can attack MI and also their batting also performed really well in the last two matches so I feel SRH can make it to the playoffs this time.

Well, Jason Holder is known for power-hitting. But so far in this IPL, he has scored only 31 runs from 4 matches. But his performance with the ball was more than satisfactory, with one three wicket haul and two 2-wicket hauls. Anyway... today's match is do or die for SRH, and not so for the Mumbai Indians. MI can afford to lose today's match and still end up at the top of the table. But for SRH, if they lose this match then they are out of the tournament.
2592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US 2020 Elections data, polls and bets on: November 03, 2020, 06:38:46 AM
@mu_enrico. You want real scary? How about this fake news hehehe. Every piece of information in this article were taken from Hunter Biden's laptop.
There are scandals from both sides, so I'm not really into it.
I only focus on how weak Biden is, about his dementia/gaffes and decades as a politician. Democrats could win this election by simply picking a more likable, smart, new, and energetic candidate, considering so many people hate Trump. I think the Dems made a blunder again, just like they did with Hillary.

"Fake news" always assume the early democrat vote is all for Biden, but who knows? I'm not really following US politics, though. I'm just comparing both candidates, apple to apple. Anyway, the world is cheering for Trump to win this election since he made so many memes  Grin

Well.. that's what they did in 2016. They nominated a candidate, who is not electable. If they had anyone else as the Democrat nominee, then I doubt whether Donald Trump would have won states such as Michigan and Wisconsin. This time, they picked a moderate in Joe Biden. But still, Kamala Harris as the VP pick was a mistake in my opinion. She is too far to the left. They could have chosen someone who is younger and charismatic.

KKR would be very pissed if MI rest their main players  Undecided . Rohit is already struggling with the injuries so he's already out of the picture. Hope they don't change their bowling lineup and if they want to rest their batsmen then they should start with the Saurabh Tiwary.

I hope that MI change their bowling lineup. Bumrah needs some rest ahead of the playoff matches, and the other pacers (Boult/Pattinson) have been leaking a lot of runs. Players such as Mitchell McClenaghan and Dhawal Kulkarni deserve at least one chance in this IPL. Also, I would like to see Sherfane Rutherford and Chris Lynn in the top order. Maybe they could replace one overseas bowler with an overseas batsman?
2594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US 2020 Elections data, polls and bets on: November 03, 2020, 06:09:47 AM
LOL.. today is the election day and the vast majority of the Americans have already cast their ballots. Some 98.8 million people have voted till now (the turnout for 2016 was 136.7 million). Projected turnout is 150 million, that means we may witness some 50 million people casting their votes today. In almost all the battle-ground states, majority of the ballots have been cast already. There are two exceptions - Pennsylvania and New Hampshire. In these two states, the majority of the votes will be cast today, in person.
2595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 03, 2020, 05:57:20 AM
They have Jason holder too. Overall SRH bowling did okay after Bhuvi exclusion. Almost everyone took the responsibility, surprisingly even Vijay Shankar performed with the ball (He's out now due to hamstring injury).

Jason Holder hasn't done anything extra-ordinary till now. Actually, I would have included Mohammad Nabi instead of Holder, as I believe that Nabi is a better batsmen compared to Holder, and he has depth bowling abilities. He didn't got any chances this season, but I heard that Nabi is heading to the BBL as a part of the Melbourne Renegades squad. Vijay Shankar has also performed well in the recent matches, but he is "volatile".
2596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 02, 2020, 05:28:04 PM
Things are clear now.

MI and DC have qualified for the playoff stage, with 18 and 16 points respectively. RCB will qualify, either as the 3rd team or the 4th team (depending on the outcome of the MI vs SRH match).

KKR will qualify, in case SRH loses against MI. On the other hand, SRH will qualify as the 3rd team in case they win against MI.

So here are the remaining matches:

Qualifier 1: Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals

Eliminator 1: RCB vs KKR/SRH
2597  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: American election is nothing to do with BTC on: November 02, 2020, 04:41:27 PM
The US election may involve Bitcoin as it will affect the movement of money. It will likely affect Bitcoin more or less in some way. The financial world is still often dominated by political news like this.
Bitcoin fell to as low as $ 13100 today, I guess the main reason leading to the decline is the impending US election.

Well.. I just checked the exchange rate on Bitstamp, and it is showing $13,519 per coin. These temporary spikes and dips are not unusual with Bitcoin, and I don't think that they have anything to do with the presidential election. You need to accept the fact that the long term trends look positive. During the last two months, the prices have increased from $10,300 to $13,500. It will continue to move upward, irrespective of who wins the election.
2598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏏🏏 sportbet.one 🏏🏏 [IPL 2020] Prediction pool and discussion 🏏🏏 on: November 02, 2020, 04:21:59 PM
Disappointing performance from the RCB. With 5 overs to go, they were 112/2, with two established batsmen at crease (Devdutt Padikkal & AB de Villiers). But as it happened a lot many times in this tournament, the youngster got out at the worst possible time. And then there was a batting collapse. From 112/2, they ended at 152/7. During the last 5 overs, they scored 40 runs and lost 5 wickets.
2599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2020 US Presidential Election | Trump vs Biden on: November 02, 2020, 12:20:24 PM
I'm not from the US so I don't know much about how politics run in their country, but I'm just curious why Trump is the underdog on this election considering he is the present president. Can anyone enlighten me, I might put my bet soon too.

Well.. Trump was the underdog last time as well. But he won the elections, since turnout was higher among the Republican voters. If you take the number of registered voters in the United States, the Democrats outnumber the Republicans by a huge margin. But they have two disadvantages. First of all, there are a number of deep-blue states such as California and New York, where Dems carry by very large margins. But whether you win the state by 1 vote or by 1 million votes, you get the same number of electoral college votes. And secondly, turnout is always low among the Democrats when compared to the Republicans. A large section of the Democrat supporters prefer to watch web series or drink beer with their friends rather than going to the polling booth.
2600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you buy BTC from PayPal now that they are letting people do it? on: November 02, 2020, 12:10:26 PM
I vote for "I will wait and see".that is because, Paypal just accepted bitcoin but they remain bitcoin withdrawal close. I assume, they might have plan about it but due to they are new in this Crypto field, so we should let them sometime for complete upgradation. If they take bitcoin seriously & enable its withdrawal option for users in upcoming upgradation, then i would like to try purchasing bitcoin from them, otherwise no.

I also voted for the same option.

Right now I can't purchase or store cryptocurrencies using the PayPal platform, because I am a resident of India. This option is available only for selected accounts in the United States. Even if it is available to Indian users, I need more details regarding the (additional) KYC requirement and deposit/withdrawal limitations before making any moves. Also, we need to see if some bug or vulnerability is found in the near future with their cryptocurrency storage, which may increase the chances of hacking.
