I love this machine, one can spend hours over hours there, but...

(...) the Rams can still make the playoffs even with a loss, but they need the Bears to beat Green Bay in Chicago, which would mean GB will lose the number one seed (bye) and have to play the Bears at home in a wc game.

...the Rams themselves basically don't have to care about W or L against the Cardinals regarding their PO spot, as long as GB beats CHI. If that happens, it's just about the better seed for them, where a W will send them to Seattle most likely and a L to New Orleans. I think they would rather play at Seattle and they don't want the Cardinals in PO's of course.

Packers can only lose the 1st seed to Seattle (playing @49ers), not to the Saints. But since these games are played at the same time, GB will give 100% - and in a divisional matchup, where they can crash the PO hopes of a rival, anyway.

Correct me if I'm wrong but those freebet was that rewarded per day?

It was awarded per round and you can check the rounds on the left and then see the leaderboards to the right. The Top40 users get a freebet and yes, you can use that on any markets, just minimum 3-leg-parlay and 1.5+ odds requirement. In rounds 1&2 there were less than 40 participants, so you would get a freebet even with zero points Wink
263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion & Betting] Eurovision Song Contest 2020 - CANCELLED on: December 29, 2020, 12:44:26 PM
Here is the thread for the 2021 edition: ESC 2021, I will lock this one.
264  Economy / Gambling discussion / [Discussion & Betting] Eurovision Song Contest 2021 on: December 29, 2020, 12:42:49 PM

You can never be too early when it comes to the Eurovision Song Contest and Albania was the first country to announce/publish their entry some days ago, so time for a 2021 thread. There can be found great value in the early stages, but you can also be dead wrong. The 2020 edition was cancelled for known reasons, it looks like the 2021 edition will take place no matter what, since all artists will (have to) video tape their performance and if they are not able to travel to Rotterdam, this video will be shown. There are some other special rules for this one, but shouldn't matter for the outcome. It is allowed to have the same artist as planned for 2020, but not the same song. 22 countries chose to do so, which is about 50%.

This years Eurovision Song Contest will be held from 18th to 22nd May in the Ahoy-Arena in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The Dates

18th May 2021: Semifinal 1
20th May 2021: Semifinal 2
22nd May 2021: The Final

A total of 41 countries will participate this year. Bulgaria and Ukraine will come back for this years edition, while Montenegro and Hungary won't participate this year.

Semifinal 1

Last years thread was very nice with lots of good discussions and posts. Hope to see some familiar faces in this thread, but fresh faces are welcome as well of course. Happy discussing and good luck with your bets Smiley

I made this thread self-moderated. I don't plan to delete a lot of posts, but rather let a fruitful discussion unfold. If it gets too spammy, I will delete posts though. So just stay on topic, share your thoughts, discuss the entries and don't spam useless stuff.

just curious how to have that freebet i've been placing bets on betnomi for some time but didn't know that there was a free bet and what could be the requirements to it, do we need to wager it? was it also available in virtual sports betting?

I won that freebet in the Betnomi Predictor. You of course need to wager it - thats the nature of a free bet - and can't "withdraw" it. You can place it in all markets, but has to be at least 3 selections parlayed with 1.5+ odds for each selection. I lost mine Roll Eyes

(...) this dude is a first-round QB pick after all!

Your post inspired me to take a look at the QB's drafted in Top10 since 2010. Haskins was drafted at #15, so he wouldn't appear in this list, but you can see, that there are a lot of busts even in Top10. The Bradys, Rodgers', Wilsons, Brees' were all drafted later - only Rodgers in round 1 even - so it's not easy to find your franchise QB with a high pick. Especially not, when you are desperately looking for one^^ Most likely you will find someone who is doing ok for some seasons, but you will have to look for a replacement pretty soon.

I put the ones who I still think are worth a Top10 pick in green

2010:
#1 Sam Bradford (Rams), had a so and so career, is unofficially retired by now

2011:
#1 Cam Newton (Panthers), had a very good career and turned out to be a franchise QB in the end
#8 Jake Locker (Titans), don't remember him doing anything, retired after 3 years
#10 Blaine Gabbert (Jaguars), turned out to be just a journeyman

2012:
#1 Andrew Luck (Colts), had to retire a bit early due to injuries, but was a good QB
#2 Robert Griffin III (WFT), still remember his debut @Saints which was insane. Had a very good rookie season all in all, but Washington didn't take good care of him unfortunately. Backup QB nowadays.
#8 Ryan Tannehill (Dolphins), after years mediocrity, he finally found his groove and is a Top10 QB in the league now. Going to the Titans was a very good move for him. Without that.....

2013:
No QB drafted in Top10, the first was EJ Manuel at #16 by the Bills.

2014:
#3 Blake Bortles (Jaguars), did ok 2015-2017, backup at Broncos now

2015:
#1 Jameis Winston (Bucs), not what you expect from a #1, too erratic in the end, backup at Saints now
#2 Marcus Mariota (Titans), apart from the 2016 season a below average QB, backup at Raiders now

2016
#1 Jared Goff (Rams), still a good QB nowadays, lets see what we can say about his career in some years
#2 Carson Wentz (Eagles), if he goes to another team, he might revive his career, but he is probably done already

2017:
#2 Mitchell Trubisky (Bears), nothing special imo and is definitely no franchise QB
#10 Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs), if he stays healthy a future HOFer, good value at #10 Wink

2018:
#1 Baker Mayfield (Browns), he is getting better, but definitely no #1 pick from what we have seen so far
#3 Sam Darnold (Jets), I would think his career is already over by now, getting drafted by the Jets is just very meh
#7 Josh Allen (Bills), needed some time to get used to the NFL, but is a top QB today
#10 Josh Rosen (Cardinals), was very poor from the start and Cardinals picked Murray in the next draft, already giving up on him, backup at 49ers now

2019:
#1 Kyler Murray (Cardinals), he is doing ok, needs more development, but I don't see him being a Top10-ish QB
#6 Daniel Jones (Giants), will be out of the league soon, just too many weaknesses without improving them
267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football in China - The Chinese Super League on: December 28, 2020, 03:59:04 PM
They are less interested in physical sports such as football, cricket, or basketball.

Hehe, no, they are as much interested in physical sports like any other country. It's just that they are mainly interested in other sports, which do not get that recognition in the western world, like for example Table Tennis and Badminton - these sports are huge there. And these worldwide big sports like Football and Basketball gather more interest, due to the CCP putting more emphasis on making these sports big in China via their domestic leagues. With a population of ~1.4 billion you probably have more Football and Basketball fans there than in a lot of other countries just by the absolute numbers. This is a big country, with lots of money floating around and to be made, but it takes time. Time the CCP normally doesn't have or doesn't take Wink

And please guys don't do a full quote unless it's absolutely necessary, thanks Wink
268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: December 28, 2020, 01:52:02 PM
Interesting scenario in the NFC east now, where the Eagles can basically decide, which team they will send to the PO for this division. The winner from NYG-DAL game will win the NFC East, if Philly beats Washington. If they lose, Washington will win the division. Given the fact (or rather my opinion), that the Eagles hate the Giants/Cowboys more than Washington, this 2+ for WAS looks amazing.

6 draws is not what we like when it comes to MM, but tomahawk9 and mitchr4 still were able to score a solid result with 9 correct picks:

This won't be enough for any prize though Tongue

@arallmuus wins the worst performance giveaway with only 5 correct picks, please PM me your BTC address. There is a tie with leea-1334 and Woohler, but arallmuus is most to the left in the table.

The all-time table, where tomahawk9 and mitchr4 share the 100 fame points, which puts mitchr4 in the Top5 in this category:

JanpriX and tomahawk9 are still looking for a double digit result after all those tries since we have this table.

do you guys know what was the maximum number of wins that anyone has had in a multi cup? Has anyone had 13-14 wins?

For the football MM's this was 12 I think. In the NFL draft MM, it was 13 if I am not mistaken. Or 14 Huh I think I had two wrong in that one and didn't win Grin
270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Darts] 2021 PDC World Darts Championship on: December 27, 2020, 09:37:52 PM
Too bad but Huybrechts messed it up.

Yep, he was his usual poor when it gets to the later stages of the WC. I thought no spectators would help him, but it wasn't that what made him drop out in the past when things got tight^^ Searle played good darts though, so it was a deserved win in the end.

vdB was really good, though the game for Wattimena was probably over, when he had that total brainfairt in the 1st leg Grin He somehow never recovered from that.

Peter Wright just went out against Clemens Shocked Happy for the big german and I somehow never liked Wright anyway, but not sure what it is. This loss had some impact on the outright market as well, but not as much as I thought.

Now MvG can go out too please Cheesy
271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Red Cards in Football and what they do to the odds and the outcome on: December 27, 2020, 08:03:07 PM
Time for a little update, with all these midweek games and breaks, it's a bit hard to keep up with things Tongue

Juventus - Fiorentina
Red Card: Juventus in 18th minute, score 0-1
Final Score: 0-3

Odds must have been quite good for Fiorentina to hold on to the lead - Juventus was ~1.35 pre-match -  and they sealed the win with two more goals later in the game.

Monaco - St. Etienne
Red Card: Monaco in 35th minute, score 1-2
Final Score: 2-2

Hmm, Monaco scored the equalizer right after halftime and then defended this result till the end, not good.

Aston Villa - Crystal Palace
Red Card: Aston Villa in 45th minute, score 1-0
Final Score: 3-0

And another loss Undecided If I would have followed this game, I surely would have placed a bet against Villa, since this is normally a very good spot. Glad I didn't follow, saved some money.

7-3 since I started concentrating on the first half red cards. With odds being generally low-ish, I think this would have resulted in an overall loss so far. But lets keep on observing things.
272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: December 27, 2020, 01:16:41 PM
WTF is wrong with Robbie Gould?  The dude is usually automatic.  A missed 41y FG, and now a missed extra point?

Was funny how the "experts" were linking it to Peterson possibly blocking the FG and thats why Gould sent it more to the left/right when kicking. I don't believe in that, because it's super rare to get a FG/PAT blocked; just a bad day for him.

Played Steelers tb Colts, since Indy will be missing Smith and Castonzo and this is a recipe for disaster against this PIT front 7. Conner and Williams will be back in action for the Steelers and this should help to get them back on track against a bit overrated team like the Colts are still for me.

Adding Jets vs Browns under 44 Roll Eyes Browns literally will be without WR's, since they were all put on the covid list. I also would like to play the Jets ML, since they lost the #1 draft pick now. Jags will lose both their remaining games, so Jets don't have to worry about having to lose no more. But the ML odds are a bit low. Something around 5 would be better.

My locks for the day are the Ravens and Chiefs and I will parlay them ML.

Cowboys look a bit high against the Eagles, but you can get them >3 inplay I think. Looking forward to GB-TEN, this should see some points Smiley

Free Bets has been awarded to all winners from the second round. You can try again and everything should work fine.

Received my free bet, thank you very much. I am not super dumb, when it comes to navigating through a bookmakers website, but I can't seem to find a way to actually use the freebet Huh It is available in Bonuses -> Sportsbook, but when I click on "Bet" there, get redirected to the betting markets and click on a selection, there is no box to tick in the betslip to use the freebet. What am I doing wrong ? Grin

274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to adjust and work with the bet365 live streaming on: December 27, 2020, 11:11:19 AM
I actually tried to register, and it requires you to deposit money, I can't even find my country in the list, lol... so I guess, I will not be able to use this free streaming.

If you just want to use Bet365 for the live streaming, you can register an account and choose a different country for the time being; then deposit some money using f.e. paysafecard. Afaik they don't KYC you right away, but be prepared that your deposit is lost, if you can't pass it. Minimum deposit should be something around $10, so it's not a bad deal for all the streaming they offer.
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: December 27, 2020, 10:42:55 AM
9/15 played and there is too much red, Flamengo once again Tongue:

buwaytress, tomahawk9, mitchr4, entebah and jayce lead the pack with 5 correct picks in here, but the SB leaderboard shows users with 7 already; and some more with 6. So unlikely we will see someone from here winning this week. At least our consensus picks won nicely Wink

The worst performance prize would go to rdbase as it stands right now.
276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Darts] 2021 PDC World Darts Championship on: December 27, 2020, 10:32:10 AM
I am following you with Huybrechts tb Searle, maybe I will even take a handicap on Huybrechts.

Odds for Huybrechts have come down a bit, which is a good sign, so took him now and parlayed him with van den Bergh, who looked superb in his first match. I just hope Huybrechts doesn't mess up this round already. I don't really trust him, so just a small bet, lets see.

I thought King would play today as well, but it will be only tomorrow. His odds have come down a bit too.

I see that odds for his win already dropped to 2.75, maybe it's worthto put stake on him. Unfortunately, I didn't saw initial odds and idn't bet earlier.

You can find the pre-tournament odds in first post Wink Odds for MvG dropped of course, because Smith got eliminated in that part of the draw. Same goes for van den Bergh, who sits at 11.00 now at WillHill, coming from 21.00. If I had to place an outright bet, he would probably be my pick right now, if we talk about value bets.

278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: December 26, 2020, 01:04:55 PM
Here are the picks:

Consensus found for Atletico Mineiro and ManCity only, with Sporting, Everton, Flamengo^^ and Southampton coming close. Surprised to see only 2 draws picked for the NED game, since this looks very drawish imo. Apart from the consensus games, only three outcomes are not covered and that is wins from Beleneses, Sheffield and Brighton.

As always good luck ladies and gentlemen Smiley

To again share some of my winnings from last week, I will give 0.005 BTC to the user with the worst performance this week. In case of a tie, the user who is more to the left in the above table will win. @morvillz7z is still allowed to submit his picks for this giveaway until this evening.

The BTC will get sent to your wallet, not to your SB account, but you can give me a SB deposit address of course.
279  Local / Announcements (Deutsch) / Re: [ANN][ICO] ⭐ XAYA - Echtes Blockchain Gaming - Mainnet live on: December 25, 2020, 08:22:23 PM

I don't know what to play in Saints game. It's hard to see the Saints not winning today, but I am not so sure, whether they will able to beat the HC, which stands at 6.5. MIN still has some tiny PO hopes, so they should be interested in this one. I see lots of talks about how the Saints defense will shut down the Vikings running game, but they were able to get 162yds/201yds rushing yards against #1/#3 rushing defenses Tampa/Seattle, so I think they will do just fine offensively.
This is all about the Saints offense vs the poor Vikings defense. Brees was doing ok against the Chiefs, but he can't be at 100% already. The more I think about this game, the more I get the feeling the Vikings will win this - if they show up; they have been a bit hot and cold this season. But I'll pass on placing a bet.

I'm curious, at what point in the week do you all place your bets?

If you know a sport/league inside out, then you should place your bets as soon as odds come out, since you will find the most value then. The nearer you get to kick-off, the more matured the odds are. As suchmoon said, you will have bad luck here and there with injuries etc. not going your way, but this evens out longterm, so no problem.

If you just have average knowledge, it doesn't matter imo, since you most likely have no edge anyway. I would even say, it's better to wait in this scenario so that you have all information available once you place the bet.

As I said in the past, the best way is to not have any prematch bets at all, but to master the inplay game. And this goes for every sport, not just NFL. But this takes a) a lot of time and b) a lot of your time Grin

With two weeks to go, I checked my outright bets again:

Cardinals over 7.5 @1.84 (they had 5 wins last season and I expect them to improve further, they have one of the easiest schedules with Washington, Lions, Panthers, Jets, Dolphins, Patriots (sorry Pats fans^^), Giants, Rams²)
Bills over 9 @1.87 (Easy division this year, kept most of their players, had 10 last year)
Carolina under 5.5 @2.21 (not expecting anything from them this season and 6 is a lot, when you are likely to go 0-6 in your division already)
Raiders over 7.5 @2.04 (I think Raiders will be good this season, don't ask me why)
Vikings over 9 @2.13 (They will win NFC North imo, last season 10 wins and they will be better this season overall)
Patriots under 9 @1.62 (so many players opted out, no Brady, getting 10 wins will be super hard, 9 is a push then, but I am expecting less)
Giants over 6 @1.84 (fanboy, lol)

Cardinals 8-6 -> won
Bills 11-3 -> won
Carolina 4-10: They still play @Washington and then host the Saints in week 17, I hope they don't win both Wink
Raiders 7-7: They host the Dolphins tomorrow and then play @Broncos, could still win.
Vikings 6-8 -> lost, a bit disappointed with them, but as said above, they were good in some games, only to have poor losses the next game.
Patriots 6-8 -> won
Giants 5-9: With @Ravens coming up and then playing the Cowboys at home, this would be a push at best, but Dallas has found their rhythm lately, so looks more like a loss, though Giants are 1.65-ish fav.

If I trust on the Raiders getting one more win and Panthers not winning both their remaining games, I would go 5-2 or 5-1-1 with these bets (always think positive^^)
