Now if a predetermined To what time ship to me?
Way too long if what you actually mean is BFL. BEL might be way quicker.

Hi tom_o, not really the plan at this point was to over engineer. As for turbulence and surface area I was thinking of stuffing it full with 10mm aluminum wire mesh. Another issue was heat distortion of the tube when the ends and take offs are welded on, the outside needs to be a nice flat surface.
Interesting idea there, lots of surface area without having to deal with cnc milling. Are there types of of that bar with ridges on the inside cause that'd be ideal? Is this the kind of thing you mean? ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.modelshop.co.uk%2Fekmps%2Fshops%2Fmodelshop%2Fimages%2Faluminium-mesh-coarse-5-x-10mm-holes-3m-4238-p%5Bekm%5D288x288%5Bekm%5D.jpg&t=663&c=ApsmbJjO4N2H1g) Cause you could just roll up a bit and slide it down the tube! Not sure about the welding and heat distortion, the blocks we made used a cnc'ed acrylic top with O-ring which wouldn't really be practical for this.

Have you any idea of the thermal specs of what you're proposing? i only ask as I used to be into PC watercooling years ago and helped with the design of a couple of peltier/TEC blocks. A flat tube would possibly be the worst solution as it has minimal surface area, the only design with less surface would be a circular pipe! My main concerns are that a flat tube design could suffer from many hotspots partially due to the height of that tube, thermal pockets and laminar flow along the surfaces you actually want to be cooling. In decent waterblocks turbulence is actually quite desirable up until a the point it seriously impedes the water from flowing, a restrictive waterblock is an generally an effective one, making up for the loss in flow with far better thermal characteristics. At the very least you'd want those in/outlets to be on the top pointing at the board. Is thinner bar available? Just seems way too tall!

So how is it that people in the altcoin forum who scam people for a couple of litecoins get a scammer tag quite rapidly.
Whereas a group that have set up an entire website, fake hardware and company continue to be allowed to have an account, thread and non-scammer tag. Yeah it's kinda obvious but the title still says "Scam?" when it should blatantly read "SCAM!!!!"

If you order now, hope for December 2015 :DD jk, around september/november is what they told me.
So four months is the official line, yet on the preorder page it says 2 still. Then again who would preorder a product almost half a year before it's released. Oh yeah; BFL customers.

Something to do with Feathercoin, I'd imagine.
To finally get to the difficulty change I guess.

Run those cards at 700MH/s or 720KH/s for a month and I guarantee you the extenders will burn or start to fail. Watch them turn brown or black at the PCB solder points.
Yeah I was thinking that. Mmmmm two amps down a ribbon cable not a good idea.

Virtual Mining Corporation is now taking pre-orders for its Fast-Hash-80 80 GH/s Bitcoin Mining Machine. www.virtualminingcorp.comSo much info from you...When do you expect to have a prototype working? What about finished devices for customers? Why aren't you giving more info? Because it's fake and a scam. Right they're developing 26, 45, 65 AND 90nm chips that apparently go into ATX boards. What bullshit, doesn't even make sense!

I'm really interested in this.
So to get it straight, you pay them BTC, and then they'll configure it to mine for you at the hash rate you've purchased and you'll get payments from the mining your purchased hardware has done? Is this incorrect?
No you pay them, then they order ASICs and wait. And then eventually yes what you say is correct, when the ASICs arrive. Okay what I am unsure of is this renting hashpower. Which I am familiar with, or is this just waiting until ASIC are recieved and praying they come and if not your screwed.
Like the website layout just a little weary to buy anything until I know for sure. Is a setup already up and running continually upgraded, or is this just a lets kinda hope kinda thing.
Just curious, anyone can answer. P.S. I know this thread is 11 pages so if someone already answered feel free to quote.
No hashing yet, that's why people are asking for refunds as the ASICs are BFL. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

He's upset about the 'support' he hasn't been getting for a product he hasn't got. What is he expecting? It's almost as if he wants someone to tell him, its going to be alright, just 2 more months. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

If you want to keep the bugs out you'll need dust filters, and since it'll be running 24/7 you'll have to clean those filters reasonably often, making a custom vented enclosure with BIG intakes and outlets (more surface area, less dust concentration) would probably be your best bet!

Are there any BFL Pre-Order holders here who'd like to chime in?
It's a risk, it's your money. Do what you think is best and if it isn't, well hindsight is a bitch.

Don't start bitchin too loud, they'll do the refund for you ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Very true see this Topic: BFL Forced "On Hold For Refund" for all my Single SC orders https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=207331.0basically; he bitched, they cancelled his $5k order.

So what have we learned so far? 2 years later
We learned that no matter how irrelevant an old topic is somebody will dredge it up ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) And that someone created his own, bitcoin specific botnet aimed at people with high end graphics cards. http://kotaku.com/e-sports-league-mined-bitcoins-with-subscribers-comput-486205191ESEA League, one of the largest PC gaming leagues, has admitted to putting code into the league's client software to "mine" bitcoins, the open-source Internet currency now exchanging for around $130 per. The league is offering free memberships as some members complain the code damaged their video cards.

Most likely a power issue as mentioned. If you put a Kill-a-watt on it and start mining you'll notice the power draws goes up until the temps reach a steady state. Probably when the rig shuts off it is overextending itself. Either take a card out, undervolt or downclock one card to reduce the load. Maybe downclock the hottest card.
Or underclock the CPU, that's what I did. If it isn't your main pc you could even disable one of the cores reducing draw even more!

Please, do not ask for that stupid G00gle auth, you have to log in on google to login on other site. Google wants to got you under its eye 24hs.
BTC-e is secure, he sends you a confirmation email if you want to withdraw; and email account can't be changed with a confirmation either.
Yeah the withdrawal confirmation is epic. Plus they actually withdrawal promptly. They are a top notch exchange in my opinion. Plus a trollbox. Trollbox is very good for on the pulse news, MtGox Dwolla info was shouted about there first, thankfully i sold my litecoins quickly then rebought at 2.5 ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) just gotta be careful that it's genuine.

Dude, There are reports that the module could work with some of sub modules removed. If the whole module is cold it probably means that there is a problem with power cable. If i remember the cable was damaged according to your pictures. Take a multimeter and make sure that power power cable is ok. The second thing to check is to disassemble the module and see if hash power PCB is damaged (the board with connectors where asic are plugged). If above two are ok, you can test all 6 modules separately this is presumption. About the warranty that shall be commented by Avalon but i think it shall be replaced and it will take time for sure. If all of the above fails we badly need 10 Asics for Klondike project https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=190731.0 and we would be more than happy to buy part or whole 8 x 10 Asic chips. PM me if interested Did you see the STATE it arrived in though? You should definitely be offered a replacement, shipping you a used product that is 1/3 DOA. Think about it of course you're eligible for a repair!

Just thinking about the heat sink. I'm not sure that the 4 fastenening locations in the center of each ASIC cluster is best. I think it may cause a high possibility of board flex and with the different coefficients of expansion of materials with temperature, we may have solder fractures at the ASIC over time. We need to spread the clamping force over a larger area with more locations.
Just a thought.
Could always create a rigid backplate like some motherboards and big heatsinks use? And since the heatsink will be clamped flat/flush to one side of the PCB will flexing be an issue anyway?

<second image> Reminds me of Matthew's eLete (or was it Ellet or Eleet?). #bitcoin2013 Butterfly is also building a wallet device. At least two months til availability. pic.twitter.com/fqKmLuO7KB Two months? TWO MONTHS? TWO MONTHS?!?!?!? hahahahahahahahaha

That youtube video, the fake one that I thought was real when I first started to watch it, what was that guy really doing? Was just just burning a chip with a heat lamp? That of course was just an IC chip or something I think already soldered on the board. Was he just burning it to make a video for people to believe?
I'm pretty sure its a pisstake and nothing to do with BFL. Either that or josh is a master troll.
