261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Gridcoin not a major coin? on: September 29, 2017, 06:05:48 PM
perhaps these two elements, which exist parallel to each other and are quietly co-exist without any mutual interest. I mean scientist people and the cryptographic society. Gridcoin offspring which tried to unite these different communities, it seems wrong.

Why would that seem wrong? They are both solving equations. Seems like logical symbioses.A win-win for all.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Gridcoin not a major coin? on: September 29, 2017, 05:38:01 PM
This is not a push for Gridcoin. I’m well aware that Bitcoin is the coin for now, and probably for time to come. And I don’t really care of the value of Gridcoin (unless it’s worth a million $).

However is the any technical reason why bitcoin mining could not solve scientific problems instead of solving mathematical problems that has no function other than itself, and pay coins either way? Anybody know the inside of bitcoin mining that can answer such a question?
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Digital Money Bits (DMB) Mandatory update to version 1.5 on: September 29, 2017, 03:26:14 PM
DMB is a dead as it gets. The coin exists only on exchanges. The chain / system, whatever it is, got fuckup. Dev did not catch it in time or was unable to fix it / unwilling to fix it. In a matter of 14 days the system paid out some 80 million coins in POS to accounts that past the 30 days minimum stake age, despite that POS should not have been paid before the account was minimum 3 month old. And it did it in ridicules amounts, millions to each.

Those lucky few that got millions, dumped like there was no tomorrow – understandable enough. And while that went on for like 14 days, the dev was unable / unwilling  to stop it, as the chain continued to paid out millions to a few. Several addresses got payed multiply times. So they sold a million, looked in their wallet and had another.

DMB is 100% dead!
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Gridcoin not a major coin? on: September 29, 2017, 03:09:58 PM
If you check a bit the altcoins world, there are a lot of token based on a really interesting and usefull purpose. The problem remain the same in every business. It'll gain value and fame only if people are interested in it.
If the project is great but nobody wants to use it, the principle of offer and demand is not matched, and the project (as beautiful as it is) will not raise.

You are quite right, and I do understand that usability of a project vs interest does not always (far from it) end up in a symbioses relationship.  I also understand that many coins in themselves have great potential and systems/ideas. But it is the coins / systems themselves that is the potential, not the process that produce the coins. We are still moving dirt from on pile to another, for no reason what so ever, other than that produces coins.

Why are those billion Tflops mining bitcoins not curing cancer at the same time? They might as well!

In real life – setting aside a few government projects – nobody is getting paid for digging holes for no reason what so ever. In bitcoin universe I get paid for digging holes in my backyard, filling them up again and starting all over.

It is not like someone has to pay for it. I don’t not understand why we can’t solve some meaningfully problem / project, and at the same time produce coins? – Like they do in Gridcoin, hens the question, why is Gridcoin not a major coin.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best airdrop you ever got (or didnt get) on: September 29, 2017, 11:51:37 AM
I missed out on many big airdrops due to not checking bitcointalk forum regularly. Examples are ripple and decred airdrops. I would have made a ton of money through them. Currently, the best ongoing airdrop is DeepOnion(No contest).

Me too. I too miss most airdrops, by not checking bitcointalk forum regularly. But today I just joined Deeponion, so lets hope they take me….
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why is Gridcoin not a major coin? on: September 29, 2017, 11:40:34 AM
I’m a user of BONIC, which produces Gridcoins (if you do the work in whitelisted projects), and I’m wondering why Gridcoin is not a major coin? I mean here you actually produce something useful with your idled computer, rather than just burning electricity for the sack of a blockchain.

I’m aware that many coins have a purpose in themselves, but the process of producing those coins is just burning electricity for no purpose. Gridcoin solves some problem/problems and then gives you coins for that.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can you mine via a desktop browser on: September 29, 2017, 06:49:00 AM
There is "Bitcoin miner" in Windows store (only for windows 10). Very easy to use. Tap in an adr. and run.
Gives you about 1000-1500 sat a day, whether you use a core2, core3, core5 or core7. Does not seem to be many sat difference between these.
268  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Global Warming Real? on: September 29, 2017, 06:42:32 AM
Global warming is real and it is happening. When we say global warming we are referring to a condition where the Earth temperature is increasing both land and water. Do I  need to elaborate it or I just need site an example, try to go outside your house during 10:00a.m.- 3:00 p.m. you will feel the abnormal temperature even with the use of your senses. Do be ridiculous accept the fact that you are living in a changing world.

Well an example it is, but not really useful.
Where I live, we have had the coldest and rainiest summer in a long time. So if I use your example, and stay in my own little universe, there is absolutely no GW going on. Should I stay outside from 10:00 - 3:0, I will need a good coat, or I’ll be freezing pretty good. And I don’t live in a particular cold region.
It’s all about perspective; just because it’s warm where you are, does not mean it’s warm everywhere.
We ARE living in a changing world. No doubt about that. Climate changes ARE going on – and have always been. It’s all about being able to separate between Global warming, Climate changes and human contribution. They are not the same thing, and one does not necessarily have anything to do with the other.
269  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Global Warming Real? on: September 29, 2017, 06:23:22 AM
ofcourse globalwarming is real . right now it's happening. it's really hot than before and also sun rays can cause right now unlike before that sunrays had a vitamin d. right now sunrays is just a thing that cause cancer on our skin cells. that's why i like to be scientist because i want to study living things.
I don't know why some people don't believe in Global Warming, it has been part of us ever since there are carbon dioxide emissions and greenhouse gases that pollute the environment. It's one of the leading causes of the increased death of animals, particularly in Africa. There are a lot of ways that you could help contribute to the betterment of the environment, one is research.

It’s not that people don’t believe in climate changes, because it has always been going on. I believe its more an issue if human is the main / major factor for it this time.
270  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Global Warming Real? on: September 11, 2017, 08:59:48 AM
Indeed, completely it is genuine. As a matter of fact we are as yet encountering it today. Signs that the Earth is warming are recorded everywhere throughout the globe. The least demanding approach to see expanding temperatures is through the thermometer records kept over the previous century and a half. Around the globe, the Earth's normal temperature has risen more than 1 degree Fahrenheit in the course of the most recent century, and about twice that in parts of the Arctic.
I figure yes, we can see each day these changes in Europe the temperature might be more than 50 Celsius. That is a terrifying news or information. Ice on Arctic melts, some creature and plant species disappear, all of these things can show a dangerous atmospheric deviation.

I don't see it like that at all. Sahara is a dry as it was 3000-4000 years ago.
In the last 1000 years we had the medieval warm period, followed by the little ice age. Now we apparently have a warmer period. Climate changes are real, as it has always been, and always will be.

Are humans the reason? maybe, but it is surely not the only reason. The 1883 Krakatoa eruption changed weather globally for about 5 years.

271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is China manipulating the price of Bitcoin and other altcoins? on: September 10, 2017, 11:35:33 AM
Why do you think it will not go below $4000? If you look at the history of Bitcoin, it goes from bubble to bubble. What makes you think we are not in a bubble right now?

Well said. Bitcoin may wobble, bubble or even go down, looking at a month or two, and it has done so always, but broaden the viewing glass to 6month-1year-2year, and it only goes up.
As more people want coins, the only way to fill demands is to increase the price. It is not like you can print more coins!
272  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will rise up or fall down? on: September 10, 2017, 10:57:14 AM
Bitcoin only knows one way, and that is up. The very nature of bitcoin mean it cannot remain stable, it must go up or down.
If users does not trust it anymore or find some better alternative, it will go down and die. God forbid.
On the other hand, if more users want it, there simply are not enough coins around, and the only way to supply the demand for coins, is for the price on each one to increase.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to get Bitcoin Cash from many wallet/software/services with Coinomi on: September 08, 2017, 09:32:25 PM
1) Install Coinomi on your phone (it must be v1.7.2.3 or upper)
2) Add a Bitcoin Cash wallet on it
3) Go to balance, and click the upper right 3 dots.
4) Select "Sweep wallet"
5) Be ready to do it with qrcodes

- Multibit HD (you have to abandon this wallet, because it isn't anymore developed!)
1) Download and execute this: https://github.com/iancoleman/bip39/blob/master/bip39-standalone.html (Right click and Save as...)
2) On "Derivation Path" choose "BIP32"
3) On "Client" choose "Multibit HD"
4) On "BIP39 Mnemonic" space you have to insert the seed of your wallet, the 12 words.
5) You will get the list of your addresses and their private keys.
6) By going with the cursor on a private key, the page will show the qrcode. Sweep it with Coinomi

Had Multibit HD, but also an iPhone and Coinomi is not available for apple yet.
So I did this instead;

1) Installed Electrum, and created a brand new wallet
2) Transferred all bitcoin funds to this wallet from the Multibit HD wallet.
3) Installed Electron.
4) Created a wallet, using “I already have a seed”
5) Entered my 12-word Multibit HD seed, and checked “Bit-39 seed” under option
6) Used “m/0'” under derivation, instead of the default “m/44'/0'/0'”
7) A bit of sync… and the Bitcoin cash was available.

Worked like a charm…
274  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Global Warming Real? on: September 08, 2017, 04:18:07 PM
I feel that global warming exists in the summer and even in winter it's getting warmer. Partly it depends on the solar activity and partly on human activity on the planet.

Take a trip to Denmark, and ask if there are any hot summers around.
Where is my hot pina-colada summers Cry
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Deep Onion on: September 08, 2017, 04:05:17 PM
DeepOnion is again over 35K satoshis. HA!

I guess all non-believers will sleep very bad after they were so happy on 20K and lower.

This is what a strong community mean!

The only non-believers I see are those that aren't eligible for the airdrop. They are just mad.

I wouldn't call the people who sold their Onions on the last pump "non-believers" I would personally call them "idiots." Too many people are all about that quick profit -- they don't seem to be capable of thinking long term. If they were, they would know DO is one of the best long term projects around & they would be HODLing them...

I can't join, and I’m not mad at all (though my wife might say otherwise, don't trust her Smiley)
But I am interested in seeing if such a huge airdrop will hold all 40 rounds. I mean the price will hold, or one or many gets tempted to dump before the drop is over.
Likewise as interesting, will the price hold after the drop I over, or is the drop and its rules the very reason the price is high.
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best airdrop you ever got (or didnt get) on: September 08, 2017, 03:50:09 PM
DeepOnion is clearly the best airdrop since I am in crypto coins.

Between 500 and 1000 dollars a week! it's just huge. Shocked

You are entitled to sell 10% but I think the best is still Holder.

DeepOnion does seem to be to good to be true. Large drops and worth a lot.
Will i hold all 40 drops?, maybe, or will one or many dump them in the 30-35 round?
Time will tell, but i'm defentily watching on the sideline. Seems very intreasting.
277  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Global Warming Real? on: September 05, 2017, 09:39:29 AM
Cheesy so only carbon dioxide is a factor? Tell that to the countless species that vanished in mass extinctions events.
Large igneous provinces are found all over the world.

I can't tell anything to an extinct group... :/

When thousands of volcanoes erupt at once = mass extinction.

When just one or two do - debunked.

Ever heard of Krakatoa? Climate changes, globally, for years.
One single eruption changed weather for years, more that humans in a 100 years.

debunked?, i don't think so..

is this coin really dead ? if so will remove from our pool.

I think it is. Wallet not updating, quite some time now.
It is however still being sold on coinexchange. Beats we why anyone buys this coin  Huh
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Deep Onion on: September 04, 2017, 12:33:23 PM
No clue. Can't even get airdrop as old newbie.  Undecided

Y we need to be a Jr. Member at least
I think you need to be at least a Member nowadays. Junior was the original minimum, but that changed eventually because of an excessive amount of account hacks and sales.

Aghh i'm also just a newbie. i'll just watch all the fun on the sideline. Sort of not getting picked in school  Cry
