261  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Skyhook Bitcoin ATM - SKY11A (USD/BTC) - $925 on: May 01, 2015, 09:39:13 PM
It gets btc from a blockchain.info wallet.  These things are very temperamental and require a high level of technical knowledge to operate when they act funny.  The company that makes them, BTCPDX is ABSOLUTELY ZERO help on support.  They're not even shipping last I heard on the skyhook reddit.  The only support you will get is from other users on the reddit page.  http://www.reddit.com/r/projectskyhook

Im not trying to shit on your sale here...  just letting people know these are not easy to deal with.  They violate kyc/aml laws so they are basically useless.  If you are not very technical person this may not be the right atm for you even if you don't care about kyc/aml.  My experience with mine was basically a total waste of money except for the fact that I take it to meetups and it make for a nice addition.

This is incorrect.  I've discussed the matter with FINCEN and as long as it's your coins and there's no third person involved, it does not violate the kyc/aml laws.  Also, in Missouri, you don't even have to register with Department of Finance or Revenue (sales tax).  I've got 2 right now and once up and running they work great.

I would be interested in hearing more can i pm you on this? If so it serves to help the seller Tongue

PM sent.

Offer accepted. Terms being discussed.

Deal on hold for now. Buyer couldn't agree to pay the shipping upfront outside of escrow.

268  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] BFL Monarch's X 24. on: April 29, 2015, 10:30:57 PM
Just as a general question and a free bump:

What type of power efficiency do these guys actually get? BFL claims a pretty weird range (0.65-0.85 +- 10%) on their website, and I don't trust their word for shit. So far I haven't seen any of them field-tested with a kill-a-watt.

I just bought one and tested the power usage.  I am using a cx750m bronze 80+ power supply.  The numbers I got with no tweaking for efficiency where around

1watt per Gh at the wall with 120V.  Kill-a-watt was 780W,  hash rate was 786Gh.

If it was pulling 780w on a 750w power supply the efficiency was probably shit. If it was ran on an 850 gold i bet it would pull less.

Block payments are based off contribution average over 10 shifts, which is something like 18-20 hours depending on pool speed.  If you drop out for an hour, your share of blocks will be decreased by roughly 5% of your normal contribution (1 hour missing out of the 20 hour evaluation window) until the shift with an hour missing is no longer part of the last 10 shifts.

PPLNS basically distributes the effect of your mining activity.  Instead of getting paid nothing while your miner was offline, you get paid slightly less averaged out over the shifts.

Eleuthria,

Any chance you could add actual pool time to the website somewhere? Or just tell me the timezone? I had an outage last night and i really have no way of knowing when they went down other then when i stopped accumulating shares on a certain shift... which is time stamped in some crazy time like EU time.
Just go into your settings and change your timezone.  You'll see things displayed local to you.

wonderful thank you!

I'm assuming you mean for america? As far as kyc/aml laws?

Skyhook Bitcoin ATM - SKY11A (USD/BTC) excellent condition with wall mounting bracket attached.
Unit accepts USD cash and sends buyers BTC. Requires some technical knowledge to operate and a stable internet connection.

http://stlouis.craigslist.org/ele/5001677554.html

$900/BTC equivalent. Prefer local pickup as its going to be a pain to ship but I will ship for $75

I'm also curious. I'm located in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Within pickup range of you... Would the btc essentially pull from some type of wallet and accept cash? Does it work both ways? Can users deposit BTC for Cash?

yes i ordered from bitmain directly. they shipped out within 24 hours.. or maybe 30 or something but they were pretty good

sold

3x S5
1x evga 1300
1x CX750M

cables

$1100 cash picked up

please, get back to debating fair prices and shipping times and all that bullshit. nothing like dingos dipping into other business just because they can.

You asked for offers, people gave you offers, and frankly not very far from what you sold for if you pull out PSUs, so in the end you received exactly what people were offering.. Perhaps you were the only one that didn't know what they were worth?

I would imagine the price break came as said person bought the whole package?

Sounds great, ill shoot you a pm.

Keep in mind you can get them new for $340 + shipping directly from BitMain and you get 90 days warranty. Shipping to the US takes about 3 days.

Has anyone confirmed they are indeed shipping at the time of purchase tho? I see the BFL run around of getting a product three to nine weeks later.

That been said the market is what we make it. We are the demand. If they are going for 400 on ebay there's a reason. High demand and little supply.

I called bitmain twice a day everyday for a week to confirm their delivery schedule. Never got an answer. Bitmain sells to big farms. They don't care about one or two units. Big customer orders will always be prioritized over your smaller customer. Ebay 'Buy It Now' with a seller that had units 'IN HAND' for me was a safer bet to get up and hashing right away and i was willing to pay the extra 60$ for it.

We make our own cables from bulk wire and crimp parts.

What can ya do on price for ( 8 ) 18" without spades?
277  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [FOR SALE] Server PSUs, Interface boards, cables - 750W, 2000W, Made in USA on: April 28, 2015, 05:52:00 PM
Hi there,

What would you charge for PCI-E cables with no hook on the end? Basically 6 pin to bare wire? I need about 8.

Depends on length.

Are you splicing your own 6 pin connectors onto wire? Or do you have pre-cut lengths?
278  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [FOR SALE] Server PSUs, Interface boards, cables - 750W, 2000W, Made in USA on: April 28, 2015, 05:11:10 PM
So, some updates. We're running low on everything except cables. 750W stuff is inbound, but we're getting pretty dry on DPS2K material.

Scrappy just got ahold of me and he still has plenty of stock of the stuff I sold him last fall for those Technobit Minion boards which never appeared.

So if anyone wants 750W stuff, please be patient. Anyone wanting DPS2K stuff, contact Scrappy Do. Anyone wanting mining hardware, probably avoid Technobit.

Oh speaking of mining hardware, I've been busy for the last month or so working on stuff for the Bitmain BM1384 (the chip on the S5) and hopefully in a week or so I'll be distributing some prototypes for testing and review for a USB stick miner I expect to run 8GH at stock power (2.5W) but capable of 16GH if you got a good enough hub. It integrates adjustable core voltage too. I know I know, complain about how USB miners never have an ROI (which is false, they don't have positive ROI and I twitch every time someone misuses that term) but this thing should be a really nifty and affordable way to learn the basics of mining, and the basics of hardware manipulation by under/overclocking and under/overvolting which can be pretty fun. The next task will be a two-chip stick miner designed to run at least 30-35GH if you have a really good hub (stock will probably be about 16GH) and then a full 18-chip board made to be run either standalone as a quiet desktop miner or four of them would mount on an S1 chassis and turn it into an improved S5 (with adjustable voltage so a better bottom-end efficiency).

But the point of this BUMP is to let people know we're running low on PSU stuff and Scrappy Do is selling off his dozen or so DPS-2000BB PSUs that are probably still in the box I sent them in last August so if you need 'em get 'em from him.

BTW this project is amazing... i would love to be involved with the proto's unless they are all spoken for!

If you accept my offer I'll buy your EVGA 1300 watt PSU and the HX850 as well.

Did he forget about this thread?

Possibly yes. So I guess we are just talking among ourselves here.

NOPE!

I'm here. If you want an S5 go look at ebay, think a bit, make an offer. I will not sell here for $300 when I can goto ebay and get much more. Please don't send poor offers. I have also replied to the PM's first.

I lied about the HX PSU, I sold that.

I do have 2x CX750M's and 1x CX750M with the mentioned melty but working power out.

I have the fan controller if you want to add powered fans with rotary speed dials at your fingers.

NO EXCUSES OR BULLSHIT. Shipped in factory boxes, one hope from the airport, you could have them in a few days.

Also, the SP120 Fan 2 pack.

pics soon

I would have to agree with the seller. Iv'e been watching them for the last two weeks. Show me an S5 on ebay thats going for under 400$ BIN and i'll buy 10 of them. But you wont. So neither will I  Grin
