261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does hard work in gambling count? on: July 17, 2019, 12:00:06 AM
I am curious to know if someone continually invested a lot of time in studying a game involved in gambling, further if he had played the game a lot to understand the intricacies involved, then can we call him an expert in that gambling game? If we do call him an expert then we clearly differentiate his experience and expertise from that of a novice. This clearly shows that the person is capable of winning more as an expert than the novice who really does not have the in-depth understanding of the play.

This brings us to an interesting question if hard work in gambling really pays off? If one puts in a lot of efforts to understand a game involved in gambling, does it mean that all his time has gone down the drain? Certainly no. If gambling were simply a blind guess or a wild shot then even years of studying it makes it useless because one is simply guessing the outcome blindly. But such is not the scenario with gambling in reality. What makes hard work count in gambling?

This further sets off the question of addiction in gambling. Work can also be an addiction for many. But here the addiction could be for perfecting the game and the art of playing. This kind of addiction is to struggle every time for success by proper calculation and review. However, addiction can also be due to pure greed of winning with no clear knowledge of the game. If hard work counts, then we may actually find a solution for a healthier addiction towards success in gambling.
Hard work may work sometimes but sometimes it may not, depending on what kind of game someone is playing. There are games that needs understanding, analyzation, techniques, and strategies but there are also some games that only needs pure luck alone.
262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think a "winning mindset" can get you what you want while gambling? on: July 16, 2019, 08:59:15 AM
Positive mindset in gambling can cause positive output. It can attract luck and more chances of winning. People can be more concentrated and can focus more on doing their thing in gambling. Although it will only happen if you keep positive mindset with balance emotions, not being too excited and not being too calm.
263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One week in Bitcoin July 2019 on: July 15, 2019, 01:57:51 PM
It is obvious that Trump do not support or like bitcoin and other cryptos because it is not regulated and it can be a threat to their "precious" currency which is US dollar. He is afraid of the change people might like if they see the opportunities and benefits bitcoins offer that's why he gave his idea about it.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Russia, Philippines, Indonesia and India support crypto the most on: July 15, 2019, 12:36:12 PM
Because of the promising opportunities and benefits offered by cryptocurrencies I see are the reasons why people in these countries are supporting it. Philippines, India and other countries mentioned, see cryptos as another source of income, especially that it involves and is done using the internet. Most people in these countries spends most of their time using internet, why not spend it in things that may benefit them.
265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will cryptocurrency soon be an alternate payment option? on: July 15, 2019, 12:00:34 PM
Cryptocurrencies are already accepted as an alternative payment by some companies. Here in our country, we can use cryptocurrencies as a payment to load credits, for paying games and others, but only limited people and establishments knows cryptocurrencies and I think that is the reason why some do not see its potential as a payment option. Also some countries are against these cryptos, they want to put regulations to it. If only governments accepts and support bitcoin and other altcoins, more people will learn about these and more companies will use it as an alternative payment.

270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The key reason for gambling on: June 11, 2019, 05:14:39 PM
Most of the gamblers I know say that they wanted to earn money and at the same time, they play for pass time.  Most people wanted to earn money, it is given to us, human. Some want to earn money in just a blink of an eye that's why they gamble same goes to spending their time, gambling.
271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why not play games online instead of gambling? on: June 11, 2019, 05:01:40 PM
Many but not all gamblers are claiming they gamble for fun and pass time. I was just thinking. If it is the reason why people gamble then why not play online games? There is a lot of good and challenging onlne games wherein you can interact with other people online?

I also wondered why some people engage themselves in gambling instead of playing online games and I think the reason why is because of, some people may enjoy the fun of playing online games and other games as a pass time but some do not. Some people prefer to have fun and make money at the same time. This is the reason why some play games involving money and bets. The thrill and excitement every time they place bets especially if they win are nothing compared to those who play online games, that's what I think.
272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Want to quit? Here's how on: June 11, 2019, 04:44:39 PM
These tips are very useful, thank you. I hope I'll be able to help those people who cannot stop and quit gambling. I know lots of them.

I really do agree with the OP, that no one can change someone but himself alone. His way of thinking about things and his goals in the future will help him from quitting gambling. If he only realized that gambling is not really helpful although sometimes it is, he'll be able to pull himself together and stop this addiction to start a new life. Self-discipline is a must, not just in gambling but in all things.

By the way very informative OP, I know you'll be a good writer someday, keep it up.  Wink
273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this how we regulate Bitcoin? on: June 11, 2019, 01:40:31 PM
Very well said. I do agree with the author. It needs regulation to stop or lessen scams, especially in ICOs. There are lots of scam ICOs flooding the market that stops some people from doing campaigns and instead of investing in it, they prefer to stop and give up in cryptos. With a little regulation, this may lessen the number of scam ICOs or if effective, totally eliminate it.
274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain for voting on: June 11, 2019, 12:41:25 PM
Does any country use blockchain for election or voting? I know there are many countries who afraid of implementing blockchain into its sytem because then everything will be clear. If voting systems are created on the basis of blockchain technologies, then it is possible and possible to obtain reliable voting results without falsification. All the same, the blockchain is precisely created so that it cannot be changed from the outside, and in order to ensure complete security and confidentiality of data. It would be interesting to participate in the elections via the online voting platform.
The Philippines is a leader in using the Blockchain platform to vote. Using the Blockchain platform restricts fraudulent censorship checks, and everyone in the country can check the number of votes they have chosen. Blockchain reduces censorship time and votes statistics for each participant. Many countries will use Blockchain to vote.
There are lots of people manipulating and tampering votes in the Philippines. Blockchain technology will be great to stop these things from happening. All the votes will be recorded and all people can see its results, no one can manipulate and tamper the results but, this will also be the reason why the government will not allow it. The people in the government here in the Philippines wants to control the voting system in order to get into the position they wanted, and with the blockchain technology, they will not be able to do that. That is why I think, it will not be implemented here. If ever it will, that person really wants a change in this country.
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: wait, who owns the market? on: June 11, 2019, 07:42:39 AM
The market is not owned by anyone but it can be controlled by some people who referred to as whales. These whales have a huge amount of cryptos, either be bitcoin, ethereum or any other coins or tokens out there. They are controlling the market by dumping their coins. Once the price drops in the market, people with weak hands will do panic selling and those whales, they will gain or earn the coins or tokens those of the weak hands, they will then buy more coins and then boom, they will make more profit. And those who did panic selling will surely regret what they did once the market recovered.
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How 18-year old boy became Millionare from Bitcoin on: June 11, 2019, 06:58:25 AM
I read an article about him. He seems so into himself, he acts like someone who is capable of doing everything just because he earned millions with bitcoins. I just don't know if he is just provoking and getting the attention of other people for them to start investing and believing on bitcoin or he is just a total jerk, who knows. By the way, he's so lucky and somehow impressive in controlling his emotions not to do panic selling back then. Maybe some people are still regretting not doing the same thing when they had the chance before.
277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The use of Crypto currencies in our country. on: June 11, 2019, 02:27:49 AM
Coins.ph have made great efforts to providing good services to us Filipino people. I often use their services for paying bills and getting phone credits. And through them, more people are getting acquainted with bitcoin and cryptocurrency. But I still see them as a centralized institution. They became the bank where we deposit our bitcoin and use their app to convert fiat and to pay bills.
I do agree on this. Coins.ph can be used as a digital wallet where we can deposit fiat money and store it there together with cryptocurrencies like bitcoin,  ethereum, ripple and bitcoin cash but most users only use fiat money that are stored to their wallets,  some do not even know this cryptos and are not even interested to know it.
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could the time traveller’s “2019 BTC price” become true? on: June 10, 2019, 04:21:31 PM
To be honest guys, I felt some goosebumps after reading the self-proclaimed Bitcoin time traveller from 2025. You can Google that right now.

John McAfee projected that Bitcoin would reach a million dollars by the end of 2020 or else he would eat his d*** on national TV. As the time traveller said that for this year, Bitcoin will hit $100,000.

All of his statements since 2013 were actually true.

I know that this sounds crazy or fantasy stuff, but will he prove that this year Bitcoin will actually hit at least $100,000 even one time?

We still have 7 months to go before 2019 ends. What are your thoughts on this one guys? Would love to hear responses from the community here.

P.S. If Quantum Realm along with Pym Particle does exist in 2025, I would like to travel back in time when that man buys pizza for 10,000 Bitcoin and gonna buy as much as I want lol.

I would love to see bitcoin rising to $100k but I do doubt that it will happen by the end of this year.  Predictions are not really accurate and doesn't guarantee us that it will come true. We're even lucky if bitcoin raise up to 20k or even 30k by the end of this year, but who knows what tomorrow will bring.  Let's just not keep our hopes up. Let's just find out what will happen or will it ever happen by the end of the year.
279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beating down the U.S. Dollar on: June 10, 2019, 01:16:51 PM
Can BTC restructure a new financial order? Can BTC or another kind of cryptocurrency beat down the U.S. dollar? What's your opinion?

No,  not unless people use it the same as we use currencies we have everyday,  most specially US dollar.  US dollar is considered as a global currency. Everyone knows it, accept it and acknowledge it, most specially governments. We all know that a government plays an important role in implementing things to be accepted and used by the people. We are also aware that BTC are not really accepted by some governments which is one of the reasons why it can't beat US dollar or any other fiat currencies we have now.
280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet on an insect fight? on: June 10, 2019, 12:24:56 PM
I haven't heard of ant fights for gambles and bets but it looks cute though.  I usually see spiders fighting which is played by children here in our country.  I also played that when I was a kid.  We hunt spiders with my friends and we put in a match. It can be duel between two spiders but sometimes three to four spiders are fighting in a stick. We sometimes make small bets but we usually do this for fun only.

Back to the ant fights,  I think I'll enjoy betting in this game, it would be fun to watch these ants fighting each other. But if I were to put bet,  it would only be small amount of money only.
