261  Economy / Economics / Re: New business idea. on: November 08, 2023, 03:05:51 PM
I would have posted this thread on my local board (Nigerian local board) but I didn't because both Nigerians and other countries can still benefit from this little business idea.
The kind of business I want to share is what is called graundnut oil making. This business idea can help someone that doesn't even have a skill and someone that is not even educated, all the person just needs to have is the money to buy the manufacturing equipment that's all.
With this graundnut oil making business, one can get the kind of life he/she wanted because the demands in this graundnut oil making business are a bit high. One can even start with a little money. However, this business is also an investment. If one can dedicate more time to it, he/she can benefit from it (can make it a company).

this information shows how the demands of the graundnut oil is in my country today is.
You can also watch a little on how to manufacture the graundnut oil, I can even invest more if I have this business and start making more money, so what are your takes in this idea?

It's the first time to see something like that, and I think you're also quite dedicated to what you're doing. I just want to ask you: do many of your countrymen use it in your country? Also, does your government in Nigeria support the groundnut oil you are talking about? I mean, is that the factory or manufacturer?

then why don't I seem to see this often in the news, articles, and other social media platforms? Or maybe I'm the only one who doesn't know about it; am I late to this matter?
262  Economy / Economics / Re: How Much Does Food Cost in Your Country? on: November 08, 2023, 02:46:41 PM
I want to know about the cost of living and average income in each country. Can I ask that here?

For comparison, may I ask how much a standard meal in your country costs for one meal? what is the standard food menu? What is the average monthly and annual income in your country? Please those who answer can use calculations in USD

Note: I don't need the tables issued by the government because they are usually different from the reality on the ground

I remember reading something here in the forum that the minimum wage for employees is only around $49. I thought that our country had the lowest minimum wage, but I was wrong.

Because here in our country, I can say that the minimum wage earnings are quite good when you are an ordinary employee here, because the minimum wage is around $350, which is not bad at all. Although the prime commodities here in our country are expensive, they are still able to survive.
263  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My experience as a beginner trader on: November 08, 2023, 02:34:51 PM
There are no experience mate Grin you lose  as a beginner to become a stronger trader  Smiley so for everyone out there thinking of QUITTING QUITTING is not the option here just keep learning  till you  can say "Gone are those days " Grin

To me, I see Trading as similar to playing a game where you need to learn from your mistakes to become better. And quitting should never be an option because even if you lose you can still learn something from the experience. The idea of learning from mistakes and growing stronger as a result is not only applicable to trading but can be applied to all sorts of areas. It's often said that you have to lose to win. Some successful people who lose early in their careers often come back stronger and more resilient because they've learned from their mistakes. The same is true in trading where failure is often seen as a learning opportunity. Although it can be easy to get discouraged when things don't go our way but if we shift our perspective and see every loss as a chance to learn and grow, we can keep moving forward even when it's difficult.

There's a popular saying in pidgin that goes like this, "Na person wey give up lose" meaning that "You don't fail until you quit." And I think this really sums up the idea that losing is only a failure if you give up. If you keep trying and learning from your mistakes, you'll always be making progress even if it doesn't feel like it at the time.

It means that the best teacher for us to learn from is the one we turn to every time we make a mistake. Because it teaches us and also makes us realize that what we did should not be done or repeated. Rather, it helps us bring out our true potential.

So, the saying that experience is the best teacher is true. So even from Op's experience, we also have a lesson to be learned in reality. as long as the important thing is to never stop learning and instead continue to learn.
264  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is risky, be conscious on: November 08, 2023, 02:20:13 PM
Until now, there are still many newbies who want to enter crypto trading without knowing anything, as long as they can only make a profit here in the short term.

And these habits or behaviors are not conscious of them, so the result always ends up being the loss of their investment.
Because greed is prioritized in their goal. Something that shouldn't be like that for a beginner who is entering crypto trading, to be honest.
It is because any trading business always involves risk, and newbies don't see that.
265  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you any of pump groups or Channel ? on: November 08, 2023, 02:10:08 PM
Im on with notourious powerpump team yesterday they pumped yfi i made nice profit with them.
Tell me your experince about pump ? My experinces are good to be honest most of money i Made with pump.
I remember when ETC pumped i Made from 10$ to 500$ in few hours i don't Understood why people don't like pumps it's really great i have made real money from pumps.

Today poweroump team will pump LTC let's see how high they send it
Pump group? Man! You have to be careful, I have friends who have lost a lot from such groups. Although, I don't know how legit this one is, you have to be careful. Is best you get insights yourself from any coin you wish to buy. Even Binance, Bitget and some other exchanges do give insights into coins that do well. You can start from there if you wish

Sometimes I really don't understand why there are other people who still believe in such methods of exploiting other beings. And the others are still listening or sending what others say, causing them to fall into their trap.

It's hard to join groups like that whose only intention is to cheat people. That's why this is a reminder and warning to people who don't know the truth so that no one becomes a victim. It's just that it's vague because there are still victims, so I have no interest in such group joining's as you speak of.
266  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Must Read: Scams disguised as premium signal groups/channel on: November 08, 2023, 02:00:48 PM
To be honest, there are a lot of crypto signals that are infested with scammer groups. Many of them are victims of telegram channels. I was curious before and tried to join to find out what their styles were.

And that's what I saw: in the beginning, all the groups agree to believe the target person they will victimize, then when they see and get the trust, they will tell the sign that it is necessary to take out money, and in the beginning, they will feel they are true by showing the investment of the money entered and offering to invest again to earn more.
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to roll-back Ordinals? on: November 08, 2023, 01:37:37 PM
Currently as we speak, bitcoin's blockchain is clogged by transactions because ORDI a shitcoin related to so called "inscriptions" creating NFT like things on-chain for bitcoin.

In this case, is the Ordinals being the main problem here or there's just an increase in the numbers of transaction at the cause of increasing adoption rate, if what am thinking isn't it than the ordinals then i think it's high time the developers community finds a lasting solution to it, bitcoin is known to be as cheap as 2 sat/vbyte and which is very offordable by everyone performing transactions.

Are we to forget how the blocksize wars took place circa 2015 because some developers thought everything above 1MB for blocks was too much decentralization? Bitcoin lost many developers and fans due to this debacle and was set back quite a bit. We now have 4MB blocks with SegWit and a literal shitcoin riding on-chain and clogging our blocks.

I don't know how we all came about this from the first place in renting out the blockspace when we know that bitcoin space could later be utilized for its same purpose when the network get congested, now it has to be a contension between the normal bitcoin users and the stranger ordinals for the highest bidders to get their transactions confirmed first, miners are on it again, their time to leak the milk to their mouth.

This trash being inscribed on chain is going to be worthless tokens in just a few months. I can't fathom that we're standing idly by watching this all unfold. Please let's all agree that it's time to end ordinals.

It also sounds ridiculous to me hearing about NFT on bitcoin network, this is one of the ways some new developments could be of advantage or disadvantage when newly introduced.

Yes, you are right there. I remember 3 days ago, the transaction fee in Bitcoin increased again, reaching around 40–50 sats if you want a fast transaction, as long as the priority is the fee amount I mentioned.

Because before I knew it, the fee I made at first was only around 25 sats, and then I noticed two days later that it was still not at the destination address I put. Then I found out that the network is congested again because of the ordinals, so I canceled my transaction and then re-entered the transaction with a high fee.
268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it the right time to invest in Bitcoin? on: November 08, 2023, 01:18:44 PM
Investing in Bitcoin is no longer a question, to be honest. If there is something to buy and you are investing in Bitcoin, why would you ask the other community here in the crypto space? It seems to have been asked several times here in the forum.

It's just a simple thing to do: if you don't want to have any bitcoin, you should start buying bitcoin right now so you can really make a profit when the bull run comes right after the bitcoin halving, or maybe it depends on the movement of the market.
269  Local / Pilipinas / Re: DT trading scam, marami na daw hindi nkawithdraw on: November 06, 2023, 01:55:22 PM
Inuulit ko tignan ninyo if may mga ganetong paraan ng pagearn:
  • Invite with refferal
  • Downline
  • To good to be true return

270  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [Warning] Scam Ledger Live App sa Microsoft Store on: November 06, 2023, 01:38:51 PM

271  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: blockchain.com EARN commission 7 % on: November 06, 2023, 11:59:06 AM
Hello ,

what do you guys think of blockchain.com they are offering on EARN 7 % commision ,  this company has been in the game since 2011 is guess that proves it thrustworthy  company ?

what do you think ?

If I put Bitcoin not there on blockchain.com, if I invest my Bitcoin that I have, I would rather hold it in my hardware wallet or in an e-wallet, and at least in this case, I am sure that I will benefit from holding Bitcoin.

Although the APK offer percentage they give is good, Maybe there are other holders putting Bitcoin there in the blockchain.com apps; I just don't know when they started giving their 7% APY to Bitcoin holders. You know that on a non-decentralized platform like Bitcoin, that is quite dangerous.
272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have your own casino. on: November 06, 2023, 10:58:12 AM
Well, it is easy to own your own online casino... you basically buy a white label casino script and you fund it with some startup capital and then spend some money marketing it, but with all the competition out there... you might struggle to make a profit.

I would like to have my own casino, but I cannot justify taking 1000s of people's money to reward only a few people every day. My casino will be the one where I give 99.9% of the money back to the gamblers and I just take 0.1% to cover the expenses.  Tongue

Honestly speaking, I have no idea how to build a casino online; my only idea is that it needs funds, and I don't know how much it will cost, but for sure it's a big amount anyway, right? Please correct me if what I have in mind is wrong.

If my only goal is to make money in the casino, I will also, for sure, want to have my own online casino in cryptocurrency. That's why I don't want it either; I'm happy being a gambler in a casino. I don't know, but I am satisfied with the situation that I am in.
273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed or risk on: November 06, 2023, 10:48:36 AM
Greed or risk, I think that it depends on the mindset and financial strength of the gambler, because what you're worrying about for him might be his adrenaline to keep going in the game. Some people are natural risk takers, they'll want to finish the game no matter the outcome, it doesn't matter to them if they lost, so far they won't lose more than the amount used to place the bet. While others will cash out, out of fear of losing everything, i believe that most reasonable gamblers will fall into this category. Another category are those that very rich, they don't care if they will lose the bet, and cashing out is not an option for them, they're just in it for the thrill.

Personally I'll cash out if given the opportunity to do so, because if i don't and eventually lose the bet, I'd be very heartbroken and blame myself for being greedy. This is probably because I'm not rich, if I'm rich and lose a bet, it'll likely be  risk for me.

Greed once enters, a gambler for sure will always put the winnings he gets at risk because greediness pushes him to continue playing gambling in the casino, which is why he always ends up losing.

This happens all the time with gamblers. Now, there are others who may not have this greed in the meantime, but there is a risk that they take when they gamble, and that is that they are willing to beat their partner no matter how much it is, right?
274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hong Kong officially launches its first Bitcoin and crypto trading platform on: November 06, 2023, 10:37:44 AM
News update.

According to this article Standard Chartered backed Zodia Custody, an institutional custodian for cryptocoins, tokens and assets has entered the Hong Kong market. It appears that we might have more of these types of news from Hong Kong and also maybe Shanghai hehehe.

Inflows from China will be bullish.

Crypto custody solution Zodia Custody, partly owned by the UK multinational banking institution Standard Chartered, is expanding its services to Hong Hong Kong as part of its latest push into the Asian market.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong continues to serve as a major attraction for crypto companies looking to set up businesses in a cryptocurrency-friendly environment.

Source https://cryptopotato.com/zodia-custody-enters-hong-kong-market-report/

I think that most people in Hong Kong are not difficult to educate or raise awareness about cryptocurrency or Bitcoin. So for me, the initiative that their government is taking there regarding Bitcoin or crypto that is being spread there is still good.

At least if you have a friend in Hong Kong or you have relatives who will live there, at least there is another alternative way for you to send money there through crypto or Bitcoin, right?
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if there was only one cryptocurrency, which is Bitcoin? on: November 06, 2023, 10:23:03 AM
I don’t feel that bitcoin has any competitor to be honest and if they were no Altcoins the adoption of bitcoin doesn’t look like something that would be affected because even now the number of people that go into cryptocurrency are through bitcoin, so even without the other coins they will still come.

The price of bitcoin might increase only due to demand because without the Altcoins which promises huge returns and some people will to have invest almost all of that into bitcoin, which means a high demand of bitcoin than now.

Without altcoins many wouldn’t be in Disney world that they could be become rich over night from it and without them the scams done by fake or shit coins wouldn’t be there and the cryptocurrency space will actually gain the purity that bitcoin brings

If we are only talking about Bitcoin, it was not created to compete with anything; altcoins only appeared because Bitcoin is decentralized and no one can control it. So in order for them to gain control, they created altcoins, because through this, they will have the opportunity to take advantage of people they don't know so they can get money from other investors.

But let's accept it or not, Bitcoin quickly became popular because of altcoins. That's true; without altcoins appearing, I just think Bitcoin probably wouldn't reach the ATH of 69k$ each. It means that somehow altcoins have contributed a lot to the crypto space.
276  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin Fee Observer Thread in USD(sat/vB) on: November 05, 2023, 01:49:22 PM

277  Economy / Gambling / Re: QuitGamble.com - Free Help for Problem Gamblers on: November 05, 2023, 01:39:52 PM
Hi Everyone!
I wanted to share a project that I've been part of. 5 years ago, I changed course from being a casino affiliate to working with problem gambling. It's been a project full of challenges, happiness, tears, and fighting. I wanted to do something different, and I saw how many people struggle.

QuitGamble.com is an online platform and mobile app to help people with gambling problems. The platform is free to use, and members get access to:
  • Video Courses
  • Extensive Guides
  • A community with +4400 members
  • Chat, Forum and Support Groups
  • Mobile App

Everything on QuitGamble.com is built from a problem gambler's perspective. We don't talk about responsible gambling, which many other organizations who claim to work with problem gambling do. For us, there is no such thing as RG for someone with gambling problems. (Who would write about responsible drinking on a page for alcoholics?)

The website is available in English, Spanish, Swedish, and soon French and Portuguese.

If you're curious about our project, please feel free to reach out. I would be happy to receive any feedback, both positive and negative. If you have a gambling problem, I would recommend you take a look at our how to stop gambling addiction guide. It's a step-by-step process that will put you on a new track.

Have a super day, everyone!

/Anders

Sincerely, I looked over the platform and found that the goals are commendable. Others believe it is inconceivable that you could demonstrate, in any way, using this platform, what can be done when one is addicted to gambling.

Additionally, it appears that the platform's theme is sound, and it is open to hearing about any and all stories from gamblers in the cryptocurrency area; it appears that they wish to be involved in it in some way.

278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Nigerians spend $975m daily on online betting on: November 05, 2023, 01:26:31 PM
65 million people are engaged in gambling. so many if that's true. Is this number of people just focused on or dependent on gambling to have another source of income?

I know that the normal salary of an employee in the country we are talking about is very low. So, that means, I doubt that the 65 million people who are said to be engaged in gambling are really focused on just playing gambling. I am pretty sure that the majority of those 65 million are still finding other ways to get another source of income, as far as I know.
279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Difference between crypto gamblers - regular gamblers on: November 05, 2023, 01:16:27 PM
~snip~
I agree we can't gauge the difference between the two except for the deposit and withdrawal method. I don't spend much time observing other fiat gamblers, but I still see a lot of crypto gamblers who fall for these bonuses and then post a complaint or accusation later on. I think OP is giving more credit to us crypto gamblers when we're not that different from fiat gamblers overall. I also see a good bunch of them who make helpful guides, templates, and other stuff that helps new gamblers.
Crypto gamblers like bonuses because they see the opportunity to win some money from them. But the reality is that they won't get a chance to win at all and will experience loss. We have seen many gamblers who end up not getting anything from the bonus, say the Free Spin bonus, and they did get the Free Spin, but they couldn't win anything. But as crypto gamblers who often gamble at crypto casinos, we do see a lot of promotions aimed at people, so they visit the casino and get the bonuses.

It seems that you are right in what you say. It seems that the free spin does not matter if it is programmed in the free spin that will be given to you; you will not win a large amount in gambling. I just noticed the bonuses, especially for newbies who enter the casino online.

I also noticed in the ads on the Facebook platform that there are casinos where you just sign up, even if you don't deposit anything. There is a welcome bonus immediately for newly signed ups worth around $6. I just forgot which casino this is.

Honestly if you have BTC congrats !!! We are heading  into a major economic shift and I feel like when the tides are turning like this there should be a conscious effort to land on the right side of that shift!!! Am I right? What should bitcoiners be doing right now to prepare for a potential global economic hardship other than the obvious which is to hodl and accumulate as much as you can...

If you believe in Bitcoin, there is no problem if you are confident in it, because there are many people who believe in it, including me. But the solution to every problem that can be faced by a country or every individual is not just one solution that God gives to every problem.

Bitcoin may be the only thing that can help us get back up again if there is a crisis in our lives. Because Bitcoin can't be our only reservation solution for something like what you're saying, what if Bitcoin also has a problem? Do you have any other alternative solution apart from Bitcoin? That is to say,
