Nothing "massively" overstated.  LOL obviously you have never run a business.  Tongue

263  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: is someone hacking my avalon's ip? on: July 17, 2013, 10:24:24 PM
Are you behind a firewall?   I guess its possible for some backdoor code to be present.  I don't have an Avalon so I am not 100% sure how they are set up.  I would suggest that if you are not behind a firewall, to get one.  Also if you can reset the configuration to factory defaults?  That may help.

"Unleash the conspiracy theorists" Cool
264  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Gauging interest for an open-air case for Bitfury's ASICs on: July 17, 2013, 12:41:59 PM
Interested.  Do you also have one in the works for the K-16?
265  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: July 15, 2013, 11:26:04 PM
Yeah there is one  3 pin header for them i believe.

So to connect two adjacent K-16's you need a 3 pin female to female header block between the boards that they both plug into?
I guess once we see the physical boards it will all become clear.
266  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: July 15, 2013, 09:28:16 PM

With this news, are you guys going to be reordering PCBs and what kind of timeframe does that put Terrahash at in terms of readiness for assembly?

FWIW based on past discussions here.
I believe the critical supply item now are the Avalon chips themselves. As far as I know, none have been shipped to any of the group buyers.  However i did see pictures posted of thousands of Avalon chips sitting in a warehouse last week. Grin Should not be too much longer.

PCB's should be able to be produced en-mass within a couple of weeks if they have production line time already negotiated.

that is the ugliest switch i have ever seen!~...

Search Cablez he makes switches that look clean

Danny

They are clean looking, but for my use, difficult to mount Cablez rocker switch thru the existing round hole in my case.

ok cool, so what is the recommended way to power on the psu?  Are people mainly going to have these plugged into pc's?

edit:
ok I got a few psu's laying around but I am unsure how to power on the power supplies without a host pc, what I'd like to do is have a nexus 7 or netbook run cgminer, how do I switch the power supply on? is there a switch I can buy for this?

I picked-up one of these.  It is a bit easier on your Power Supply by  placing a small load on the 3.3 volt rail to stabilize it.

3M Thermal Management  fluids kinematic viscosity charts

I was considering using this to cool Bitfury 400 units and mount them vertical.

Its sounds like a fun experiment.   Have you visited these forums? 3m-novec-7000-group  They have posted  data and some conclusions on using Novec cooling fluids for servers and other electronic devices.

The end result is the cost and need to keep a sealed hermetic environment does not outweigh the benefits. Ultimately air cooled servers are more efficient and use less space in 1U rackmount configurations without the need for a condenser. Increasingly, for overclockers, it serves less purpose as it is not a good working fluid, and is prone to gelling. So you get water results at many times the price, difficulty, and encumberance.

It's fun and a cool idea. But also, insulation for sub zero methodologies has progressed incredibly in the last five years. Insulation is simple and does not place permanent marks upon motherboards and rarely results in damage with minimal preparation, something far from this configuration.

Sure is the power recoup nice? If you can produce high enough pressures for a regenerator, yes. Is it viable? Not really.
Also the fluid is often used with masks, as the effects of the fluoroether long term on lung tissue is not yet known or tested.

I wish you great success, since you are located just up the road from me in Ohio. I would love to purchase from you. However, since I don't have a lot of BTC I have to fund with USD.  At $10 a Gh/s Just a bit too rich for me considering a lot of cheaper ASIC  alternatives. ;-(

Great Update!  Grin

For Batch 6 Purchasers,  Do we order the assembled boards at the website now? Or, wait until closer to Chip arrival date?
Also, +1 Interest in the 3U case.

I see they adjusted the prices to 90 BTC. Grin

Yes 10 X 10 = 100 total.  Roll Eyes
276  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open on: July 11, 2013, 06:47:49 PM

My question is ... doesn't all those additional chips run counter to the 100TH mines' effective hash power?  Are the proceeds from these sales going to help beef up the mine (a la Asic Miner and the blockerupter sales except not a rip off?)

Well, I think 100TH is also adding a lot of Hash power to its pool. I recall a thread that said they are adding about 3000 Bitfury hashing boards this month.

Am I right in reading that they have updated the user accounts with day 1 or day 2 shipping info? If so, has anyone checked their account and seen where this is listed? Mine does not show any shipping information.
Plug your order number into the order tracking box on the KnCMiner home page.  Your shipping comments should be listed there.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. But Terrahash haven't exactly endeared themselves to this community...

Speak for yourself.  I don't have an issue with TH unless they don't deliver as promised.  I choose not drink the kool-aid the trolls are serving.  Wink
