Bitcoin is like gold, but on the computer, it has value and can be sold and used to buy things.

As long as the digital medium exists my man, and as long as it is even slightly viable.

It has the potential to become a daily use currency in fact that's kind of the whole point of it, whether it will become one however is mostly up to luck/fate/circumstance. If it gains mainstream use and approval by majority of governments it can easily become a mainstream currency used daily(some countries already essentially use it as a a daily currency).

Gold is used as the foundation for many currencies(USD to name one) and has also achieved an essentially stable value that is mostly predictable due to it having clear uses. Bitcoin's price is vlatile due to supply/demand and availability/functionality both of which are constantly changing that's why gold is "better"

Bitcoin is not at the moon yet, some people speculate that it will go there this year though
|
|

That is the ideal goal, for cryptocurrency to take over or act as a fully viable alternative to regular currency.

Gold is really useless, a soft heavy metal that realistically offers no real uses(except electronics but the quantity used in electronics doesnt justify the pric) and yet it is a hugely expensive commodity... Humans are weird man.

Governments and banks became too closely linked so now governments have a vested interest in making sure their banks make money. Cryptos are alternatives (better in every way too) to banks -> soooo makes sense that governments want to benefit the banks.
|
|
|
Altcoins are alternatives to Bitcoin, they serve the same purpose and function the same way(though there are other differences here and there like the encryption used etcetc.)

I give you an A for effort but some people don't just sell because they feel like it sometimes circumstances force them.
|
|

Bitcoin's value is derived by how much people trust it to perform transactions with it. So hypothetically as long as people use it it will have value based on how much people use it, if people stop trusting it over banks and stop using it or if another better crypto or alternative to traditional money appears and takes the entire market then yeah Bitcoin can hit 0.

I'm actually quite interested to learn more about the rationale behind making a particular choice in terms of offline storage, as far as I see in the end it boils down to what your comfortable with if anyone could correct this view if I'm wrong I'm open to hearing more?

Whenever Bitcoin dipped by as little as 5%, everyone called that "the big correction."
After Bitcoin hit $12K from $20K everyone believed it was the end of the correction, Bitcoin then hits $10K and yet again, people say that is the end of the correction. Bitcoin is at $9K at the time of writing this post.
Is this the end of the correction?
Hard to tell since we know the corrections could have been caused by market manipulation

The problem we now face as a revolution is the fact that people are in the game to make quick money, not to make a difference to the way we interact with money... The market would be more stable if everyones investment stayed for a minimum of 10 years
