TBH, I am a bit concerned about OKcoin, and all the stuff that has come out about them. The corporate structure and shady people involved, the lack of security protocols, the belligerence of Star Xu, the allegations of running bots, the exodus of all those executives..... doesn't look good.
Do you have a link to any of this? This is all news to me. I've been away from trading for a while. Was thinking of sending a little bit to OKCasino to do some 20x gambling. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Is trading forex much like trading bitcoin? The swings and such? I've never traded another market before, but I'm getting pretty bored of this sideways action. Seems 1broker is the broker of choice?
I can't really comment on 1broker. Except that I don't understand how their business model works. But I do trade forex on Interactive Brokers, with some success. I think that trading BTC translates well to forex.

The site is up and running in beta and I am looking to buy liquidity but its there,we accept multiple currencies from the Brazillian Real to the Mexican peso to the Euro
Are you saying no USD? Or just didn't mention it? It sounds like (from the name) that there will be alts -- which coins will you have there? How do you plan to add liquidity to the exchange? Thanks. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

1% is a crazy fee.....only playable for mid to longterm
Agree with this. Swing trading maybe, definitely not day trading. Also, you don't want to have all those ACHs in and out of your account... some banks will close your account.

I'm a bit too busy lately to keep up with the forum. You can drop me from the campaign, thanks.

Just waves of panic. Just like the euphoria of the past.
Exactly. Some would call it.... reversion to the mean. Bitcoin is very trendy (as in, it trends strongly).... and it is in one hell of a down trend. Still not sure if it's done even after that big selloff to $150s.

Of course bitcoin is volatile. Too volatile? Never! This is simply a price discovery phase -- bitcoin is young, speculative, risky.... and the market is illiquid. So yes, it's too volatile for mainstream actors to hold, but in time, with more liquidity in the market, that may not be the case.

I remember about six months ago I was playing around with Bongacams. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) They take bitcoin, but they manually update price, on what basis, I'm not sure. I took a hefty advantage of it on one occasion.

You can have double-spending only if : - the seller use a node server with no others nodes connected - the buyer use ... the same node server - the transaction is OK for both party with 0 confirmation
It's impossible. In real life networking, you have 6-9 nodes to sprend the transaction ...
So its safe for me to accept 0 confirmations? All reputable businesses will use 1. You don't truly have the coins until at least 1 confirmation. Don't pull a Mt.Gox and leave yourself open with loose code. Protect yourself. Uh.... ** Bitpay ** does zero-confirmation transactions. The dubious emphasis on confirmations is part of what kills the appeal of using bitcoin. This is not some scamcoin with a dead network. A simple code to do input analysis on a widely broadcast transaction and you are fine to accept 0 confirmations.

Speculators are a fact of life if the asset should hold any value. We should thank traders for assisting in price discovery and providing liquidity to the exchanges so you and I can buy and sell BTC when we'd like. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

my first concern was they may try and dump them today. on smaller exchanges or trade into alts, then sell. or they could just secure in multiple wallets and leave for years. then sell when everyone has 'forgot'
maybe a dump is on way today or they may sell on localbitcoins slowly, who knows
I highly doubt they would dump them on an exchange -- what exchange allows fiat withdrawal without KYC? Are there any exchanges that even allow P2P transfer? Maybe BTC-E codes, haven't been on there in a while.... anyway, if it were me, I'd mix them, then slowly sell them on LBC. And keep a fat stash in cold storage too.....

I'm not saying that Willy didn't exist, but I do think that people give it way too much credit, either way. Willy could not have singlehandedly caused the bubble action on Chinese exchanges.

Buy an old account with an avatar . ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Or wait for the new forum to be launched. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Or wait for Hell to freeze over -- which ever comes first! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I guess I've been away from the forums for a few months....maybe Theymos has hinted that the new forum may actually come to fruition sooner than later. Big endeavor and big bucks, though.

Are people still doing this? I have never done anything like this but obviously something for almost free sounds tempting as hell. I seriously need an item but am fairly broke after the holidays, just wondering if this still works?
Go to a 7-11, stab an elderly woman and take her credit card from her purse. Order whatever you want - it's not your money. Not quite the same, but I see what you did there. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Surely there are certain items you can order that for safety reasons, cannot be sent back. Food, household items for instance. But it doesn't seem worth jeopardizing your account, ending up on some shitlist. I order a lot through Amazon, and I appreciate being able to do no-hassle returns/refunds when warranted, but I don't push my luck.
