261  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GUIDE] Strato's Antminer S5 Vertical Mounting Setup Guide - Updated Photo/Video on: April 13, 2015, 11:51:40 PM
I wish I had a bread rack to test this at home. Now that the temps are getting warmer I closed windows and stuck a 12BTU AC in the window, which I was going to do anyway since my Central AC took a dump on me. Yea, it is real nice having Central AC, but I get better cooling with window AC units and can shut them off in parts of the house. Save a little electricity. Trying to think what else besides a break rack like that will work that I have at home already? Right now I have all my S5's on a long 10 foot table with the power supplies. Temps are fine, but if I could lower the AC even more while still keeping the S5 temps that would be even better. I did have a slew of power supplies so each one of my S5's has it's own 1000 watt PSU. I could over clock all of them if I want. Two of them are RM1000's, one of them is an HX1000i, and the rest EVGA G2 1000.

I would recommend working out a way to vent the heat from the miners out rather than battle the heat they put out with an AC unit.

You could hit home depot; get a package of dryer hose (it's 5" in diameter) - and rig it somehow with a pull fan on the end which leads outside. They also sell dryer hose joints - like a Y joint - so you could conceivably have multiple hoses running to 1 or 2 output channels. Then use a 5" fan in pull mode so essentially its a vacuum effect - where the inlets are near the outputs of the miners sucking in the hot air and piping it outside.

Just my two cents if it's a big problem - as temperatures are only going to continue to rise moving forward.

You could get better cooling if you enclose the underside of each miner, maybe 3-4 ēC additional of cooling (i've tested, it does a great difference).

You are getting temps of 46 C? Our miners (which have since been shutdown and sold) - were running at a stable 50 C.

263  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] (8) Intel i7-4770k CPU Quad Core on: April 13, 2015, 07:03:39 PM

The CPU You have referenced is the 4770 - I am selling the 4770k - which is a different chip (faster/better).

The going price online right now for the 4770k is 4770k is roughly $350.

I'd be open to offers especially if the buyer is looking to purchase more than one CPU. I think the price I've posted at $290 is in the ballpark considering these chips have hardly any use on them; I am offering returns/guarantee on the product; and free shipping.

The 4770k will not likely see any type of replacement/nor a price reduction until the Skylake Chips are released under Intel's Tick Tock. The street dates for Skylake are fall of 2015 for v1 and 2017 for the Tick version which would be the vast improvement in architecture.

Simply said - these chips are still current and will be for some time now. (Top of the line for 1-2 years moving forward).

Again; I am open to reasonable offers. If you are looking to buy a 4770k - these are pretty much in perfect shape. They were never overclocked (nor really used as CPUs) - I was GPU mining which is not CPU intensive - and is the reason I swapped them out.

I'll revise my ship price to $275 shipped to US Addresses. (That's roughly $85 off the lowest legitimate street price).

The lowest price I could find as a finished sold auction for a used 4770K on ebay was $300. Most were going used for $305-$315.

Thanks everyone!

Uploaded a Video showing the 6 rig setups at various stages of being assembled.

Also the video shows the sound quality/difference of the Delta Fan Mods we did - vs the stock Bitmain Fans.

Finally got around to getting the photos up of the Vertical Mining Solution we came up with for our rigs.

For those not familiar - this setup worked really well in keeping our miners cool - with a very simple setup.

Details can be found here on the setup including a diagram:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=945775.msg10356519#msg10356519

Photos have now been posted as well: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=945775.msg11072305#msg11072305

Lastly; I have Uploaded a short video showing the rigs in various stages as we were setting them up. It also shows you the sound difference of the Delta Fans - which are much quieter than the stock Bitmain Fans.

266  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] (8) Intel i7-4770k CPU Quad Core - Price Drop to $240 / Free Shipping! on: April 13, 2015, 11:15:44 AM
I am putting up for sale my Intel i7-4770k Quad Core CPUs. I have (Cool total units available.

These units have very little use on them. I had purchased these back when I was mining Altcoins using GPUs. I wen't way overkill on the CPUs; and end up taking them out after about 6 weeks and replacing them with the lower end G Series CPUs. I simply never got around to selling them - They have been sitting in their boxes since.

The CPUs are perfect; as are the fan units. I will include a brand new tube of Arctic Thermal Paste to install the CPU Fan to the CPU.

$240.00 per CPU paid in BTC - with free shipping.  (PRICE UPDATED 4/15)

Additionally; I will accept returns/exchanges for 14 days after you receive the CPU (If I have any left otherwise a refund will be issued) - if you are not completely satisfied with the product.

The CPUs all have their original packaging; the boxes are basically mint; internal packing; CPU Fan and Manual are all included.

Please PM Questions!  PHOTOS BELOW!

Cheers!

Photos - finally... I took a number of these during one of the rig builds - so it shows them in progress (4 miners; then 6 with missing PSUs).

We ran 4 Clusters of 6 Units: Total of 24 Miners.

In regards to the effectiveness of the box fan: Yes; temperatures rise when the fan is turned off.

The fan - as depicted in the photos, does not sit flush with the intake fans of the S5 units; rather there is a good 4-5 inches of clearance inbetween.

The box fan, on just the low speed setting keeps air actively circulating around the miners, the sides, etc. It seems to reduce traps of hot air that can form.

PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE CONFIGURATION

Hopefully others have also have had good results using this method as well. Our miners were able to run at room temperature and stay in the 55C range with no issues using this above setup (Also see first post of this thread for diagram).

Cheers!

i know this is a old post please, still selling?

Yes - getting ready to re list actually. However these are legitimate keys - purchased either as retail packages / or online using my Adobe Account. They can be verified as legitimate.

I only point this out because a lot of people are selling keys on here for very cheap.

From what I have heard people have had issues with keys being deactivated weeks/months after purchase by MS/Adobe/etc.  Point being - the products I'm selling I'm looking for realistic prices.

If you want retail packaging - I can ship those. If you are ok with online purchased keys - I can email those along with the original receipt from Adobe.

Let me know if you're interested - the above stock is still pretty much the same.

271  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [LIQUIDATION SALE] - MINING RIGS / ANTMINER S5 / S3 / PSU / GPU / CPU - HUGE! on: April 05, 2015, 12:57:10 AM
I think at this point I have gotten back to everyone via PM provided you had PM'd me!  If you haven't received a PM from me - here is the current status:

At the current moment I have a potential buyer who will be taking the entire lot of 24 Miners - provided shipping/freight comes in as affordable.

If for some reason that specific sale does not transpire; there are also a number of orders in the 12,10, 6, 4 Quantities.

I hope everyone can understand it makes the most sense for me as a seller to handle as few buyers/shipments as possible - simply in terms of the packaging/shipping standpoint.  I will keep everyone posted - and I am sorry if for some reason I missed you via PM.  I had 3 pages of inquiries - and believe I got back to everyone regarding this current information.

Provided sales fall through; I will offer the miners out based on a standard pricing model (each buyer/same price per unit) - shipping the only variable.

Thanks again for everyone's interest!

I will be updating this thread VERY soon with a ton of additional mining equipment:  PSUs; GPUs; CPUs; Motherboards; Accessories; Etc.

Happy Holidays!

You deleted a comment that asked about why your email address from 2 months prior is bouncing. How do we know that you are you?

In response: I saw Kotarius's post from just a few minutes ago - he Skyped me (I guess in the last day or so). Because he seemed frustrated I didnt respond to his Skype message (inquiring about purchasing my GPUs) I removed the post.  It's not relevant here; second I wasnt ignoring him; I simply havent been on Skype.

Since then I have sent him a reply both on Skype; and as a PM here. Perhaps he can attest to this.

In regards to my email address... I am not sure.  Perhaps this was a long while ago. I used to use a personally owned domain with email (long ago) that I didnt renew. But this was ages ago.

Please read my trust; I have been a community member and active poster for ages.

Any serious buyers I have no issue disclosing personal information to; email, phone, address.

Hope this clears things up;

273  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Buy a small power plant to just mine? on: April 04, 2015, 09:50:22 PM
Believe it or not this is what Alcoa does - the Aluminum manufacturer.

I had the privilege of spending a few days at their 50k Ton Press Facility and got to see them making parts for the F-15 Raptor Jet.

Impressive - they run their own (I think off memory) 25 MegaWatt Power Plant; and create their own Coke (Aluminum Product) - and all byproducts of the process are moved via huge conveyor belts elevated above the site to other areas of the plant where they are turned into all sorts of products that are then sold. Even the ash is moved offsite; churned into something else and sold.

But yea; they basically figured it was cheaper to own a plant than pay for AC - and they sell to the grid whatever they dont use themselves.

Guys, let the man have his weekend. Not everyone spends their every waking minute on this forum Tongue

No, but if you're selling stuff you should at least check it a few times a day. Or at least once a day.  Cheesy

Folks; I'm in the process of responding to "non-low-ball" offers first.

It's also Easter Weekend; and my parents are in town.

If you haven't heard from me yet - it likely means your offer was well below what other offers are coming in at. However I will respond to ALL offers.

Please keep in mind that the Bitmain Price for an S5 WITH shipping to the States is:

1.35 BTC - S5 Unit
0.17 BTC - Shipping (Approx)
1.52 BTC - TOTAL

These units also have the fan's modded with the Delta AFB1212SHE's.  The Bitmain Fans are unbearably loud.

1.52 BTC Bitmain Stock/Shipped
0.10 BTC Fan Mod [Parts/Labor/Etc]

1.62 BTC Reasonable Total for a unit ordered from Bitmain + Mod the Fan Yourself.

That Said:

I am getting reasonable offers from a number of people for either a few or bulk lots.  I am also getting offers of .75 BTC shipped. I am sorry but that's just not realistic. The units work great; have been run in a cool clean facility; I have run them at standard clock speeds; and I am offering a non-DOA / 7 Day Return at my expense if the miner's arent exactly as described.

Thanks everyone for your interest! And again; I will respond to everyone!

Cheers!

Yes I designed all of the above (I do use stock material for "components" within my work) - however Its all licensed through shutterstock and paid for - so there are no issues in terms of infringements.

I'm not really interested in doing custom work as I am at the moment busy with a number of big projects (moving my business); among other things.

I enjoy the creative work; but right now I have to focus on getting the not so fun stuff accomplished... then I can think about getting back to what I love Wink

In the mean time enjoy and feel free to use. I may most one or two more.

(For a lot of my work I do multiple mock-ups) Many of which never see the light of day; but are actually not bad...

Cheers!

Hey Folks,

I wasnt expecting this much interest in the miners - Sorry I have an Inbox full of messages to respond to as well as questions here. I am going to be responding to everyone this afternoon via PM.  So please watch your Inbox.

Once the S5s have been spoken for/confirmed. I'll be posting a detailed list of what is left of PSUs + All of our S3 Units.

The GPUs will all be posted (if the single buyer who has offered to take all of them) doesnt come through.

Thanks very much for your interest!
