261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL on: May 12, 2023, 06:45:26 PM
I don't see any chance for Gujarat to win. They are definitely going to lose this match. Now their only aim is to reduce the run gap. Still I think Gujarat will lose by at least 50-70 runs today. Gujarat managed to collect only 82 runs in 10 overs losing 5 wickets. Dawid Miller and Rahul Tripathi and batting. Both are quite experienced batsmen. If the bowlers of Mumbai take the wickets of these two batsmen, there is a big margin of victory for the Mumbai Indians team. If they win today's match, Mumbai will be able to move to third place in the table.

To tell the truth, it is not a matter of life and death for Gujarat. They have 16 points from 12 matches and still two matches remain in group stage. Chennai at second place has 15 points from 12 matches. So even after losing today's match, Gujarat is topping the points table. At this point, it is almost certain that both GT and CSK will qualify for the next round. However, it is not clear who will be the other two teams that will gain playoff spots. Mumbai has 14 points now, from 12 matches. They are 3rd in points table and they should qualify if they manage to win at least one out of the next two matches.
This obviously was a do or die for MI and they played really well as per that. SKY coming back in form is the best news for MI. I think now it's the biggest task for any team to take his wicket otherwise he has the ability to make MI invincible. They can make 220 in any match and chase equally big targets. Not to mention, they haven't even been using big hitters like Tim David and Chris Green properly. I think with SkY in form MI is a big contender for the trophy.
262  Local / India / Re: Beware of Scammers on Indian Exchange Telegram Channel! on: May 12, 2023, 06:40:28 PM
LOL! This might be something many here would have witnessed. As I am new to such kind of scam, I thought of sharing it with everyone. I joined the telegram channel of one of the least-known Indian cryptocurrencies exchange. I asked a simple query to one of the main chats before asking it with one of the moderators.

My query was not related to cryptocurrency. It was about a crypto/INR conversion as one of my friends (who is not good with English) asked me to question his issue on the main chat. The issue was resolved but my friend got targeted by a scammer the next day. I am sharing the screenshot of real moderator and the scammer.

Scammer

Did you find any difference between the above images? If you have then it is good otherwise you will get scammed.
This isn't new, it's quite old. I remember this scam is being running from the days when there were ICOs and those ICOs had their telegram channels. Scammers used to make fake account with admin names to scam the users into getting funds in their accounts. Using very same usernames with just a letter here and there. Using bio in username. I have even seen them finding emoji to replicate the ticks along with the names as well. It was after this that ICOs clearly started stating to use the address mentioned on the websites only.
263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Internet is one limitation of bitcoin on: May 12, 2023, 06:35:10 PM
I am facing a real world issue that prevents me from using Bitcoin.

I live in Pakistan and for last three days cellular internet service all across the country is suspended because of prevailing law and order situation. Internet is working on fixed line connection that is reaching homes. So there is still some connectivity available.

If government shut down internet service even on fixed line connection then there will be complete internet blackout in the country and in that situation we cant use bitcoin.

I think this is also one of limitation of bitcoin that we need internet to use it.
This is absolutely true. I think it's convenient to say Anarchy is the biggest enemy of bitcoin, i faced a pretty similar issue in India as well. But i think this is there with almost every modern invention. Like if there is no electricity even note printing isn't possible so in case of complete anarchy that would be affected as well. It's not a limitation of bitcoin but yes it's a basic requirement for using bitcoin.
264  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My trading constitution. on: May 11, 2023, 08:50:24 PM
Trading is 90% psychology, but

- you can't build confidence without a profitable system.

- you can't have consistent gain without a profitable system.

- you can't be disciplined without a profitable system.

- you can't win without a profitable trading system.

Trading gives you money, in order to to protect your money risk management is paramount.

No but i think it works vice versa as well. You won't be able to build a profitable system on day 1. You'll have inconsistent gains, you'll lose, you'll be quite indisciplined and yet you'll have to keep that 90% psychology correct for you because only that is the thing which will work for you and take you places and it's the only thing that can help you build the system as well. So the money that you'll get is obviously because of psychology that you once made.

Rajasthan Royals won by huge runs especially the two batsmen Jaiswal and Samson remained unbeaten. And their wide margin of victory increased the number of plus points in the points table. Due to the high number of wickets Kolkata fell, they could not score more runs. And Kolkata Knight Riders lost at their home ground and against a strong team. Jaiswal of Rajasthan Royals had an outstanding performance in today's match but unfortunately could not score a century for two runs.  Cricket lovers are very happy for his amazing performance, and Rajasthan Royals added two more points in the points table.

Rajasthan Royals got a great win in today's match it was really a pleasure. I could not watch this game in full but I saw the scoreboard. In today's match, Rajasthan Royals ended the game without pressure, even if KKR had scored more runs, this match could have been won by RR. Especially Rajasthan Royals batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has done very well who had a great moment with the batting. Yashasvi Jaiswal can get man of the match century in today's match for just two runs which is really sad for him. Another batsman Sanju Samson also put in a great batting performance and he also failed to score a half century in the match for just two runs. However, after winning this match, Rajasthan Royals have advanced in the points table, they have now occupied the top third position in the points table.
Jaiswal, what a player. Until yesterday I was sure Suryakumar Yadav is the best T20 batsmen in India right now, Yashasvi has obviously changed that for me. He is quite close to SKY only if he is provided enough opportunities to prove himself on correct forums. After Yuvraj Singh, I doubt India had any such "Best" T20 batsmen until SKY came in but now it's like we have a batch of them, including Gaikwad in the list as well. Jaiswal record of 13 ball fifty was almost quite near to Yuvi's 12 ball 50 record.
266  Local / India / Re: WazirX again caught! on: May 11, 2023, 08:38:19 PM
Is it same for all the ERC-20 based tokens or just for USDC? I just checked the gas fees you can do a priority next block transaction in maximum $7-$8. $193 is exorbitant for any place. It indicates focus is merely on minting money right now. For you best can be check all the ERC 20 tokens and their withdrawal fees, i have seen low price tokens have lower fees generally. Also I suggest you to go with Trx chain, i have seen it's fees is almost negligible on all the exchanges but obviously not possible if you are transferring to ERC 20 wallet.
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is it to keep your bitcoin investments secret from others ? on: May 11, 2023, 08:29:25 PM
Recently, I came to read this news

https://protos.com/spanish-police-rescue-crypto-investor-kidnapped-on-holiday/

The first thing that came to my mind after reading this was that one should not talk about his crypto investments with strangers or friends as it can pose various risks. If you are active on forums like bitcointalk and involved in trades, you should not give information which can help others relate to your identity.
This is quite scary, worst part is if someone doesn't involves police or let's say police isn't efficient enough to act on time it's almost impossible to trace the money as well because of Bitcoin's pseudononymous nature. Also, it poses a risk on your life as well if you eventually give the private key also. Honestly hiding your identity is very important in Crypto world.
268  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin trading be my sole source of income? on: May 07, 2023, 07:30:57 PM
As a young person, I am overwhelmed by my curiosity in trading Bitcoin, but I'm not sure if it is appropriate for me to resign my white collar work and return to trading exclusively Bitcoin.

This was a conversation a buddy of mine and I had yesterday, and I felt compelled to bring it to this illustrious platform for the best types of advice and counsel.

Is it safe for a Bitcoin trader to quit their jobs and focus solely on Bitcoin trading if they can devote their time and attention to maximize the benefits in the Bitcoin world?
If it's been atleast 2-3 years(basically if you have seen a bull and a bear run both) while trading profitably. By profitability, I mean you are getting a genuine return of let's say 60-70% per annum on a capital which cann help you meet all your expenses. You have been able to get this consistency every month as well, then only you should think of doing this. Also you should have a buffer trading capital and also a good emergency fund so that if your trading doesn't works for 3-4 months you'll still be good to go.
269  Economy / Economics / Re: New currency from BRICS countries on: May 07, 2023, 06:55:19 PM
Couple of hours ago there is in news on Twitter saying BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) are developing a new currency. It was mentioned by State Duma Deputy Chairmen btw.

As I can see all these things to manipulate BTC right? What are your thoughts about this?
I don't think so this will happen, BRICS isn't that big and that United organization that it can create it's own currency. Especially India and China Don't have those sweet relationships as well. Also even if for a second imagine it's true, this will not be because they want to manipulate bitcoin, it'll be because they want to counter the dominance of dollar and Euro in the world. So i don't think this is effecting bitcoin.
270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 07, 2023, 04:21:16 PM
It looks like SRH is helping teams like RR get back in form. They have become punching bags sadly. I wonder if they will ever return to their glory days.
Rajasthan Royals are batting against SRH to keep their position strong in Super Four. So far Rajasthan Royals have amassed 171 runs in 16 overs with the fall of just one wicket.  Jos Buttler is going to score another century for Rajasthan Royals if everything goes well where he is batting. Jos Buttler is only 13 runs away from his century, hoping he will be able to score another century. Talking about the victory of Rajasthan Royals, if they can play responsible bowling along with aggressive batting, then they will win against SRH.

Edited: Jos Buttler missed his century by 5 runs. Jos Buttler looked very nervous after 90 runs. I have never seen Jos Buttler batting so nervously. He was nervous and under pressure which is why he missed his century.
RR is in a pretty bad form lately. Just 1 win in last 5 matches their roller coster saw another trough in the last 5 matches, but today they have given a really good Target. If they can bowl equally well it'll be a big target for SRH to chase. Even though so far they are going good with the chase but mostly it'll be about the big 4 foreign players who are yet to come and about the impact they can create in the middle order.
271  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: PSA: Never use perpetual futures for shorting on: May 07, 2023, 04:51:43 AM
If you look at trading in this way. I will say you are very wrong. You'll be surprised to know that most profitable and always less risky thing to trade is when you Write the options or basically sell the options. Theoretically it's infinitely risky, however, practically it's always used with some stop loss in form of option strategy. You buy a opposite call/ put of a higher value to create a Condor towards Max loss and enjoy the time decay. Similarly even perpetual futures are never traded without stop losses. You always maximize your risk upto your stop loss when deciding about the risk reward ratio of any trade.

ROyal Challengers Bengaluru VS Delhi Capitals
Bengaluru set a target of 182 runs against Delhi Capitals. 181 runs on such a pitch I would not call a bad performance. But I expected Bengaluru to deliver more than 200 targets today. Because their two openers Kohli and du Plessis batted well in this match. Bengaluru lost their first wicket in the 11th over. Even though Kohli could play an innings of 55 runs today, his strike rate was only 119. Mahipal's innings of 54 runs from 29 balls enabled Bengaluru to collect 181 runs.
Delhi have won three of their last four matches. The team's batsmen are in good form. If the opening pair can bat well, Delhi has a chance to win against Bengaluru.
what an amazing performance by Delhi Capitals They chased down the target of 182 runs with ease and won by 7 wickets. Phil Salt was the star of the show, scoring an incredible 87 runs in just 45 balls and deservedly earning the Player of the Match award. the contributions of Josh Hazlewood and H. Patel who each picked up a wicket helping to restrict a big total. RCB batting Virot Kholi 55 and Mahipal Lomror, 54 played good inning but only scored 181 runs. Delhi batting lineup is firing on all cylinders right now and with their bowlers also performing well they're a team to watch out for in this tournament.

I have to say that this was not a very easy target by RCB. This was certainly a very decent target for any team. But DC was able to chase that down so easily. They may date look so easy. DC did not give any chance to RCB bowlers in this match. They just smashed everything right and left.

I honestly cannot blame RCB's batting. They have certainly done a decent job. But especially Phil Salt took apart the RCB bowling lineup. It was like DC was in a hurry. DC is currently at the bottom of the table. But they did not certainly play like one.
DC has changed as a team so much in last few matches. Phil salt played in a different form today. With RCB the problem is always the same. You don't have the match winners with you. Today when Lomror played nicely there was no one who gave support in the middle order and even in the bowling as well. There will always be just a couple of players performing for the team no matter what type of match it is for you and there will be no match winners.
273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin reaches record high # of daily transactions on: May 06, 2023, 06:43:49 PM
Congratulations to Bitcoin, which just reached a record-high 564,839 transactions in the last 24 hours. This means the world's most famous cryptocurrency is now being utilized more than ever, as is also reflected on the following chart:

Hourly chart, weekly MA:

Fees as a % of block reward is also the highest its been since early March (almost 5% of total reward). Will be interesting to see if this is a trend or a one-off event.
I don't completely think of this as win situation for normal folks, 5% of block reward means a lot. I just saw to transfer 0.1 BTC you are paying around $130 for a transaction of normal priority which I feel is too damn high. Scalability is one of the issues of bitcoin whenever the amount of transactions is increased the fees also increases in an equitable proportion. This is a big problem, which I think only LN might solve for bitcoin because even with segwit i have to pay 4% of my transaction amount as fees only.
274  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A nob in trading needs help on: May 06, 2023, 06:36:01 PM
At this level, I am well informed about Bitcoin and its securities, I have read on the forum how Bitcoin and cryptocurrency trading has changed people's lives, and I am kind of interested in acquiring skills, I have read in many other threads on how risky Bitcoin trading is.

But at this point, I will really like to know whether or not Bitcoin trading is a means to gain profits during market speculations, and how possible it is to make passive income through cryptocurrency trading.
It's not that easy honestly. Also thinking of trading as a passive income is the biggest mistake you can do. It's not a passive income type. You'll have to be actively engaged in Cryptocurrencies every single day and be studying charts every day for many hours to get a regular income out of it. This is a big mistake to think this as a passive income which you can earn just by investing your money and forgetting about it. Go for HODLing instead if you want this type of income.
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Negative influence of bitcoin on: May 06, 2023, 04:58:02 PM
Every good thing has side effects, I believed bitcoin ha play roles of changing lives and improving digital structural economy. But bitcoin also has negative damnation on lives by impoverishing people of their spare resource and income. Today I want point out some negative impact of bitcoin on societies such as:
1. Bitcoin is not easily understood by people with no knowledge of it, at such scam and fraud is high on them.
2. No refund to anyone who incurs loss through keys, seed phase or fraud.
3. Privacy- bad people trying to give bitcoin bad name by faking bitcoin apps and site.
4. Cyber hacking - cyber wizards an fraudsters makes people to loss bitcoin wallets and money.
5. Price vitalities - bitcoin price is unpredictable and nobody as monopoly of the market.
I think except last two points, rest are the ones because of which bitcoin actually sustains and is working today. It's because of it private nature and pseudononymous nature that you feel it's so good and is a better alternative over fiat. On the same side understanding is something that comes with time and eventually you'll see a lot of people understanding bitcoin, you'll be surprised to know that even a lot of people don't even understand fiat right now, so I think it's okay if people don't understand bitcoin as well.
276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 05, 2023, 07:40:04 PM
GT vs RR
GT has been very consistent with their performance till now. They are now leading the point table whereas RR is in the 4th position. Considering the match being played in Indore, I feel this match will be a big scoring one. Yashasvi Jaiswal & Shubman Gill are the batters to watch today. Both have been very consistent with their performance.
The Gujarat Titans were outstanding in their match against Rajasthan Royals and defeated by 9 wickets displaying incredible strength and skill on the field. Their bowlers were exceptional restricting the Royals to a low total. In response the GT chased down the target with ease and plenty of time to spare and 37 balls left. It was a remarkable display of cricket and a well deserved victory for the Titans. Congratulations to them and we eagerly anticipate their future performances.
I think clearly & undoubtedly GT are the best team of this season as well. You look at the team you can clearly tell it has all the odds of winning any match. Their 3 bowlers, Rashid, Noor & Shami easily finish their 12 overs with minimum runs and Max wickets. Even Little and Hardik bowl decently making even remaining ones out of headache. Coming to batting, you see one after the another in form and star batsmen coming out of the dugout, it starts with Gill, Hardik, Miller, Tewatia, (Never thought will name him but) Vijay Shankar as well. I think it's a proper team which is all set to win another trophy again.
277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Montana bitcoin enthusiasts are now protected by the law. on: May 05, 2023, 07:35:41 PM

Bitcoin is beginning to gain traction in the United States as the law makers of Montana state passes a bill guiding miners to mine bitcoin. We all are aware of the US government negativity over bitcoin but of lately it is beginning to bounce back but i do not know if it is for political reasons all these are coming now but for sure I have watched and read  a lot of interviews press conferences held by Presidential aspirants of political parties talking about supporting bitcoin if elected. Are they doing this just for cheap political gains or what?

However, bitcoin enthusiasts at Montana should be celebrating as they are now free to mine and trade on bitcoin.
What startled me most is that;
"The proposed law passed 37-13 in the Senate and next will go the state's House for its approval. The bill protects at-home mining, prevents discriminatory utility rates for miners and stipulates that crypto used as payment will not be subject to additional taxes."

You can see the vote power and strength coming from the assembly men. This time it would not be game as usual.

https://twitter.com/BitcoinMagazine/status/1654236012082601985
https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2023/02/23/montana-senate-passes-bill-protecting-crypto-miners/

A good move from a rather small state. I think the immediate economic effect of this might not be that good but overall it's a good sentimental change for the US as even other states might begin to do such things if they think Montana has benefitted out of this. Eventually if a lot of states agree to this, the Federal government will have to bring a law around it as well. So i feel it's a move in the right direction.
278  Local / India / Re: The USDT price on Binance P2P are very high on: May 05, 2023, 07:33:27 PM
This has been a pretty old phenomenon. So technically Indian market and Indian rupee is always on discount when it comes to Cryptos or you can say USDT is always on premium. I have seen this phenomenon reverse only in very rare cases of ultimate bull run, otherwise in bear runs this is always there. For buyers it's a big headache as you get less crypto for more money but for sellers it's heaven, even helps in covering some percentage out of 30% tax. Even wazirX trading has price of 87-88 on USDT-INR pair. I have seen this floating at around 80 when USD was around 73-74.
279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The purchase Bitcoin during its early stages. on: May 05, 2023, 07:29:27 PM
What is the riskiest or most unconventional action you have taken in order to purchase Bitcoin during its early stages, despite the lack of guarantees or promises that it would appreciate in value?
I put a 10k rupees from my saving of just 20k into crypto. I was a student and thought crypto is the only thing that can make me rich. I was correct but the methodology was wrong. Instead of going with bitcoin or some major crypto i went on to put this 10k into a ICO and ended up losing the money eventually but I really consider it as an entry fees to this market as it taught me a lot of valuable lessons which ultimately helped me make money.
280  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How the rising trend in CPI will affect Bitcoin price in short to medium term? on: May 04, 2023, 06:07:09 PM
The consumer price index(CPI) data released today , fell short of market expectation and it is showing sign of increasing once again and it may lead to concerns about inflation and potential harsher interest rate increase in future. This is likely to create negative sentiment in all financial markets including Bitcoin.Hopefully, FED will take necessary action to curb this increasing trend.

Despite this, I believe that its impact is expected to be temporary, and that Bitcoin's price will eventually recover over time, and market will continue moving upwards.

What are your thoughts on this?

CPI generally and economically should have a positive impact on Bitcoin and Cryptos. CPI indicted weakness in the Fiat currency market which should ideally mean the USD value is weakening and therefore should translate into strong crypto momentum. Can anyone help me with how can CPI effect bitcoin negatively?
