261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whatever happens, hold on to your Bitcoin. on: November 11, 2023, 01:18:08 AM
I think this whole ETF excitement is overrated. SEC might need it but Bitcoin don't need this. When the market need a reason to go up and boom, there is ETF rumours. When the market need to go down boom, you see big exchanges to fall. Anyone can buy and store their own Bitcoin. There is no need for funds and asset management companies for this. If they come, it will be positive, but their absence doesn't create a deficiency for Bitcoin. The best thing you can do is to keep your own coins. If you trust Bitcoin, you already do this. The funds enable people who don't have sufficient knowledge or interest in coins to own them, that's all. It's an option, not a necessity.
262  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Joining this forum has widen my horizon about Bitcoin . on: November 10, 2023, 03:31:41 AM
Before joining this forum i was thinking that Bitcoin is only limited to trading and investment  but  this forum has actually exposed my mind that Bitcoin is broad and covers a wider scope unlike my initial perception.
The greatest thing that happens to me this period is joining this forum because it gave me the  access to meet knowledgeable crypto experts and gurus and am also happy because I have the chance of learning from their Bitcoin talks and discussions and with this idea I will take the Bitcoin activities very confidencial .

Welcome to the forum. There are not many crypto experts left here besides a handful of good guys in more technical side of the forum but you can still find old threads and benefit from quality discussions that has happened here. As you may know Satoshi created this forum and his posts are still available to read.
This place is quite different than mainstream social media platforms. The userbase is also different. If you search and couldn't find an answer to your question related to Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies, don't hesitate to ask here even if it looks too simple.
263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 10, 2023, 03:17:56 AM
Though loss for Bucks. Especially when it was Giannis' career night. He couldn't break his career high record, he was too tired in the last period. Bucks could only score 8 points in last 7 minutes, besides last 3-point which is meaningless. Pacers played the ending better and won. Turner and Mathurin helped Haliburton for this win. Mathurin made a career high with 26 points.
I haven't watched Damian Lillard with Bucks jersey yet but I could imagine how good they would be without injuries. I also liked Pacers tonight but I guess Sixers and Celtics are in better shape than these teams in the East.

265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's happening with Bitcoin transaction fees? on: November 09, 2023, 05:23:20 PM
This is getting out of control. There are some transactions that haven't been approved for a week. Moreover, while you used to get fast confirmation with around $1 fee before, now you can't get even for $3-4. If high fees will have to be paid for each transaction like in the ETH network, this won't be good for Bitcoin. Whether it's because of Ordinals or something else, this kind of traffic is something that needs to be solved for the future of Bitcoin.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Doge coin everly hit $1? on: November 09, 2023, 05:19:30 AM
The supply amount of each coin is different, the mining method is different, the ownership rates are different, inflation is different. It's like comparing apples and oranges. Also the price of the coin isn't the only factor. Some coins go higher prices but their inflation is also higher so in reality holders are not in profit.
About DOGE 1 dollar isn't impossible, but reaching this price can only be achieved through extremely speculative movements. You remember how it went ATH the last time. That wasn't an organic growth so it's not sustainable.
267  Economy / Economics / Re: AI will put an end to work, says Elon Musk on: November 05, 2023, 03:49:18 AM
I too think AI will make many jobs obsolete, but it won't replace all jobs. There are many industries that still need people.
I don't agree with the fear and anxiety issue at all. AI and robots doing many jobs will be to the benefit of humans, not to their detriment. Future generations can live a more comfortable life. Technology has always been beneficial to humanity when used for good.
268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 04, 2023, 10:30:21 PM
Wembanyama could be the next big thing, luckily he's under Coach Pops' wings so his development will be faster and more efficient. He spoke highly about Durant and it looks like the feelings are mutual.
BTW what's up with new painting in the floor? It's hard to follow games. I watched Mavs - Nuggets game and the ground made my eyes tired. I can't even think of the players. Hope they'll realize this is a mistake and change it.
269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: November 04, 2023, 10:06:03 PM
Araújo saved the night. Classy assist by Gündoğan as well. Gündoğan is leading this young team and sometimes he gets very angry, this is pretty normal. They want to win and simple mistakes drive him crazy. Real Sociedad played very well today, but Barca got 3 points with the single goal in extra time. If they become champions at the end of the season, today's match will be one to remember. Ter Stegen was announced as man of the match but I think it was Araújo.
270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 02, 2023, 01:47:20 AM
Finally I started watching NBA this season. I skim over some of the matches, but the first match I watched as focused was the San Antonio - Phoenix match. I'm glad I started with this, Spurs came back from 20+ points and won literally in last second. Some says there was a foul on Durant but there was no call so there's no need to argue. Suns should've finished the game better. This Spurs looks exciting. I wonder what will Gregg Popovich do with these youngins. Would it be competitive enough to make the play-offs with this squad or would they need one more season, we'll see.
271  Local / Konu Dışı / Re: 2023 BALLON D'OR ADAYLARI on: October 31, 2023, 12:04:11 AM

272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 29, 2023, 10:33:38 PM
City managed to humiliate Man U... It probably didn't surprise anyone, but I thought Man U would do something... I thought they could score a goal, but they didn't... Congratulations to all Man City fans on the win...

I didn't expect anything from United, it was an easy win for City. I don't remember such low odds for City win in Old Trafford. It was expected by everyone.
Haaland is in good form. City needs him as they are at the beginning of a though fixture. They won't get any breather until the middle of December.
273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have we seen the lowest low of this bear market? on: October 29, 2023, 09:10:53 PM
Since the FTX crash I listened a lot to Gareth Soloway and Nicholas Merten from Datadash. Both expected lower lows. Soloway even expected BTC to get under 10k at some point. With the recent price rise I'm a bit worried that the ship has sailed. In his most recent video he no longer mentioned these lows. He even mentioned a 50k possibility for this year.

What are your thoughts? How big of a price rise do you expect if an ETF gets approved?
And is a scenario of World War III (Israel + USA + NATO vs an alliance of Islamic countries) bullish or bearish?

First time I've heard Datadash here, if they don't mention it anymore probably they don't believe in that price. After the 30k+ jump it's normal for people not to talk about declines. I think we've already seen the lowest point long time ago. I'm not saying there will only be an increase from now on, but I see the possibility of a new bottom as very slim.

About World War 3 scenario, let's hope for the best. There may be regional wars, but I don't think there will be a world war. Humanity has a lot to lose in this war. In that kind of situation Bitcoin or money is not the first thing we have to think about.
274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: October 29, 2023, 05:36:29 PM
Bellingham is going to be a big trouble for Barca. He scores in every game, he's the new savior of Real Madrid. They won't lose when he's playing. He gave these signals in Dortmund but his development is going faster than expected. When people talk about Mbappe and Haaland as the next biggest star of football, now we have Bellingham in the discussion too.
El Classico losses are always heartbreaking, at home it was more painful even though it wasn't in Camp Nou. Barca have no luxury to lose points anymore.
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 29, 2023, 12:25:21 AM
That was a fascinating win by Gunners. Nketiah's performance was impressive. With that early hat-trick he's already passed the number of last year. Sheffield United wasn't a threat for whole game. I guess they've already accepted their faith, they'll be in Championship next season. Only one draw in first ten league games is not acceptable. I couldn't imagine the locker room. Going back to Arsenal, they don't have a heavy fixture. They'll play with some good opponents but not great ones, until Liverpool game in Christmas. It's a big possibility make a winning streak until that time.
276  Economy / Economics / Re: if you think 18k btc is low wait until autumn ... on: October 27, 2023, 05:03:53 AM
This thread didn't age well. We've seen a lot of members on this forum claiming that Bitcoin will drop to very low levels. History has always proven them wrong.
Those who missed the train while trying to buy Bitcoin cheap have always regretted it. It's best to buy regularly because you never know the bottom.
277  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: October 25, 2023, 03:43:23 AM
I dont know really if somebody else noticed it or have written about that in the last years since this post was made.
But the quoted text is on the end wrong " shown as half faded-out green " and it should be normal " shown as half faded-out silver or white "
Its just something that i have seen when i was looking for something so maybe @Cyrus you can change it  Wink

I don't see any problem here.
If you download the image and zoom in to %500 you can see the green in it. It's not full green as it's reserved for Donator rank.
278  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can it be real bull or just a temptation. on: October 25, 2023, 03:33:18 AM
There is no basis for assuming that Bitcoin should not be below $30k by now. Until there is news or a new development, Bitcoin can be anywhere the forces of demand and supply takes it to.
I don't consider the recent gains enough reason to conclude we are in bull run as the market is still undecided on where it is going.

It's not pure supply and demand, there are a lot of different factors. For example for miners Bitcoin has a mining cost. That's why Bitcoin is always priced above a certain level to be profitable.
Bitcoin was undervalued in 2Xk. This rise isn't surprising. Pricing started before ETF claims became reality. Anything is possible but we are unlikely to see 20k levels again.
279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can 1 Bitcoin buy in your country? on: October 25, 2023, 01:42:19 AM
At the time of posting this, 1 Bitcoin is ~34.200 USD, so that is equal to ~960.000 TL.
You can't buy a new house or a good car with that money now as prices are going up. There are second hand options, for example:

You can buy 2014 Mini Cooper in 171.000 km. with that money.

https://www.sahibinden.com/ilan/vasita-otomobil-mini-mini-cooper-1.5-chili-cam-tavan-hatasiz-1132163769/detay

If you want a newer car you can find 2020 Peugeot 208 in 33.000 km. These options are relatively cheaper because of their motor. If a car has more than 1.6 motor the taxes will be higher.
If you are interested in SUVs or bigger cars you have almost no chance.

For this money, you can find apartment flat of 50-100 square meters in various parts of the country. You can't find a house for this price in big cities and good neighborhoods.
