20k coins dumped on fake news before it had a chance to spread? Sounds like someone's run out of tricks.

We don't 100% know if it is fake news or not, I am on the fence and think that there's not usually smoke without fire. Obviously it could be manipulation by someone trying to make money off the price, but two rumours in one week could mean that there is some fact behind it all.

http://english.caixin.com/2014-03-27/100657518.html

  • The author also stands by his claims and says that Caixin have seen a document.

"The requirement, which Caixin saw in a document the central bank's headquarters recently sent to regional offices, says money can be taken from the accounts before the deadline, but no deposits can be made. Banks that fail to close the accounts will be punished, the PBOC said, but it did not elaborate on what those punishments would be."

  • This is further substantiated by the fact that last week PBOC dispelled the rumours

"The report by certain media that ‘PBOC has issued a document as of 3/18, requesting all bitcoin transactions be halted by 4/15′ is in error. The attitude of the PBOC towards bitcoin has been clearly stated by the [5th December] document issued by the PBOC and five other agencies.”"

however this time we haven't (to my knowledge, correct me if i am wrong) seen anything from them.

Why are people dumping again? Really, why?

Was the same on Friday, even when confirmation came out, things didn't "pick up" until later on in the day (https://www.tradingview.com/v/rO1xsK4F/). This time is a little bit more ambiguous, there is no 100% confirmation that this information is false and as a result I personally think that things will take a little longer.

OMFG, China FUD all over again. When will this shit ever stop?!?
It's so ridiculous, really. The only good thing about it is that I can buy cheap coins everytime.

When China's central bank come out and give definitive advice on the legality.

It's not just Bitcoin though, here's another example of "Chinese whispers"

Hi All,

Not sure if this is the right thread to post this but I have a November Jupiter that seems to have died.

The fans are on and a blue light is visible from the front but I cannot connect to it and it does not respond to pings. Also the red and green lights on the front never go on.

What do you suggest I do ?

Trippy

One of mine did this once, I turned everything off, left it for 5 minutes not connected to a power source, then removed the cables connecting the boards to the controller. Turned it on, it started up fine, then I just re uploaded the firmware, shut it down, reconnected the cables and rebooted. Seemed to do the trick

Does anybody else consider moving to Kraken because of the recent Proof of Reserves?

Signed up today and had a look at it, platform seems really nice and professional. Not traded on it yet, but plan to soon.

Regardless of the above, from looking on their forums it appears that Plan B will likely not happen now. No official word though, so take it all with a pinch of salt.

Sina update:

For today there are reports from the central bank has issued a document media platforms suspended Bitcoin transaction message, close to the regulators said on Sina Finance, said the central bank issued a document indeed, but not halt bitcoins, but to strengthen supervision of Bitcoin.

If that is true, it's potentially very good news.

Why is 'what bobby lee said' always in some some kind of news article? Who cares? What makes anything he says credible? In fact I think he's a known pumper, right?

Exactly my point here, if you look at the video date and when the bank supposedly sent out their memo, it's like he's got himself on the TV as he knew a drop was incoming.

[ ... ] I believe it says that Mt. Gox has 200,000 BTC of the 850,000 it reportedly lost.
Isn't this what he said right away?

Nope, leaked document said 2000 i think.

We are now in the foundry stage and as soon as the chips arrive we will let you all know. More info about the tape out is available here.

Thanks

What does Foundry stage mean? I wish they would update on power specs, I have a lot of Neptunes coming my way and really want to begin ordering in PSUs

PSU's are so hard to acquire right now - ... sold out or overpriced everywhere - you have a point here

Think out of the box just a little bit

Hahaha, great idea, though I am not too comfortable running a 10K machine with something i've wired myself
