This kinda sux. 3 of the 4 S9's are in my city, at the DHL center, cleared customs, and one is on plane departed Hong Kong. But what is the worst part is that DHL isn't open to allow me to pick it up today!! ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) Its only noon. I have time to devise a plan for extraction today! haha Any ideas? Someone joked around and said they sent them a lot sooner than the Jan 21 - 30, so they must of sent a bunch of Mandarin Oranges instead! Hope not..

YAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got the Rude awkening from DHL auto call for owing money... I was like WTF!... Not yet...
I owed them money so I paid then went, lets see - only bitmain supposed to send me stuff... Could it be..... Log into bitmain thinking they just sent the power supply only, you know, a funny joke maybe?
NOPE!!!! They Sent ALL 4 of my S9's and power supplies! I actually got another DHL Duties and taxes call while writing this!
SOOOOO Excited!!!
EDIT: I have a voip system that can handle 25 calls to one phone - They made 3 calls at the same time, two of which went to voicemail for the duties and taxes for the other packages!
Its like CHRISTMAS on the 26th! and the 27th when they are to be delivered!
This was the Jan 21-30 Batch of S9's that I ordered! I started the orders in Nov around the 25th until first week in dec, all on different days over 2 weeks or so.

Is there a way to create a white list of Ip addresses of people that are actually mining to the pool, and can make the assumption that they are using the same IP address for their web login since it would be on the same connection. If the IP address exists in that DB, then you can have multiple wrong password attempts, if you are not on that list you have 0 tolerance.
Or to have even more fun, when there is a bad set of credentials sent, it sends the user to a completely different server just to make the bots stop attempting to login. Or just allow the bots on the IP addresses that you have collected log in ( By redirecting to another site ) and so they will stop hopefully. They are probably coded to just hammer the site, but not coded on what to do after a "successful" login to the fake site.

How often should an S9 be shut down and dust blown out of it with compressed air, if ever? I know it would depend on the environment it is in, but say in the average house.
Just wondering if anyone cleans thier out, or if you run them hard and let the dust bake on?
I am also wondering why people seem to think that you cannot run an S9 on 120 volt? I understadnt that the power supply puts out less watts when on 120 volt as apposed to 240 volt. Just wanted to get peoples ideas on if they should be run on 240?
Mine draws 12.6 amps at 120 Volt, about 1525 watt
The miner itself runs on DC from the PSU. 220/240 is preferred for many reasons. One of which is because it pulls half the current of 110/120. Half the current means half the heat, and warm wires are not your friend. Also, the average US residential circuit is 15A. You shouldn't run at > 80% of the capacity of the circuit for an extended period of time. 20% of 15A is 3A, so you shouldn't be running over 12A on a 15A circuit. If you have a true 20A circuit, that is sized properly from breaker to outlet, you're probably okay. Otherwise you're asking for trouble pulling 12.6A 24/7. Furthermore, if your circuits are sized properly, you can run 2x the equipment at 220/240. Lastly, 1512 watts is 1512 watts, whether it's 120 * 12.6, or 240 * 6.3. M Yes, I understand the math of VxA=W What I was wondering is that the PSU ( Um yes DC I Know) the PSU max DC output when input when it is on 120v input is 100 Watt 12 volt DC output, and i think 130 watt or 133 watt when input is 240. Does the S9 need that extra bit of 30 watts? I have had mine running on 240 as well, and I seen a slightly higher hash rate, but that could of been due to the temp being lower in the area that I had it running. went from 20 deg ambient to 5 deg ambient when it was on 240. The New nomex 14/2, 90 deg C that they use in residential now is actually rated for 25 amps. The breakers used are 15 amp. I believe this was due to the OLD wiring being rated for only 60 deg C which made it rated for only 15 amp. ** Note: I am refering to the Bitmain PSU.

I have a funny feeling that my S9 Miner is going to find our next block. Within 14.73 Hours. With 20.84 Bitcoin. I say this because it has found many blocks when it was on nice hash, on SHA 256 for other coins, and one time a high enough Best Share value to be bitcoin. The other thing was, this happened on two weekends in a row, on the Friday Night! WIERD I know..

i'm in luxembourg... that's quite a way from alberta..... :p
same thing happened the last time i ordered 8 units... i should keep an extra supply of PSUs......
have 4 more s9's coming in Jan, to ad to my collection of 1.. and I ordered an extra PSU just in case one died. Also have a L3 coming in march, but thats only becuase they ran out of S9's Get the car battery out and make some cables, get those things running.. Think a car battery would not last very long though.

i just picked up 10 S9s... -but no PSUs!! WHAT A TEASE! ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif) WTF! Wanna Sell any? if you close, I'm in Alberta. I'll come pick them up.. cash?

I think why there is so many questions is because some wording on the payouts help page is not clear. Terminology is new to most people, like 5nD.
If someone told me that 5nd is 5 times the difficulty level currently, and that represents the number of shares that are used to calculate the payout, and explained that the 5nd as being a "moving window" where as you get paid on your percentage of the contributions you made to the pool during that number of shares ( NOT TIME nor BLOCKS) So, of the 9,365,527,376,108 shares submitted before our block was found, you gave X percent, in my case on the first block I had .03% but I also was not contributing during the full 9,365,527,376,108 shares prior to the block. When the second block is found, I will have a higher percentage of that 9,365,527,376,108 shares and the payout will be higher, and so on with the 3rd and 4th and 5th blocks.
The confusion for me and I seen for many others is that they expected whatever the first payout was to be paid 5 times, ie one time per the 5 blocks found, Which is not true. The payout gets bigger becuase a higher percentage of shares has been submitted ( Assuming you contiunue to mine 24/7 on the pool without leaving)
Explaining that Network Difficulty works out to about 3.3 days, and x 5 = 16.5 days and this is approx. how long it will take to be paid the full amount for the first block of the 5 blocks - again this is without factoring in luck, difficulty level changes etc.
I may have butchered some of that, but hopefully it makes sense
** Note to new users, this is set up this way so that people do not pool hop, and show commitment, and that the fee is less than anywhere else, so you do actually end up getting paid more. A good example is the current transaction fees paid per block now are upwards of 10 BTC, at Kano, that is awarded to the miners, where many other large pools keep that extra as a bonus for their engineers. Is that fair? 10x17000usd = 170 000usd per found block, and how many in a day? Why do you want to be the one helping that other pool rip you off? If your answer is that they pay you every day and you THINK you are making more, then don't actually let me know why. I have heard that excuse many times.
Keep this in mind - If a site/pool looks good on the front end then the back end is not so nice. If the front end is ok, and gets the job done, the back end is probably better than the other guy. 3 good examples. Nice hash - user interface nice, graphs etc. easy to work. - backend, not so good, got hacked, 4700 BTC Stolen Antpool - Nice front end, graphs, organized, some analytical data etc. Backend - Engineers getting crazy bonuses for your work - I will bet that they do not get all of that either. Zpool - I was here right after nicehash got hacked. was good data on front end, somewhat easy to use once you understood the layout. they were at 3 PH/s for SHA, climed to 11.2 PH/s after nice hash went dead. I had 1 S9 there for 2 days, total pay was .0010. During that time their sql server could not handle the load, was falling behind. Owner got new server, set it all up, earned BTC was not accounted for correctly, people started to leave, they are back to around 3 PH/s again. To gain so many new users with no effort, and only to lose them so fast.. what a shame. He gets to keep my .0010 BTC because I will never mine there at all.

Last slush block is 24+ WOW [/quote]
WOW 24, that almost doubles our income! Guess no one wants our 45000 satoshi transaction in there! :-) Not yet anyways.
Unconfirmed transactions is 245 000 right now. So many people wanting Bitcoin!

Kano, Can you tell me if this is bad for my s9
From kano.is Work Diff :Last Share Shares :Diff :Share Rate ĢElapsed :Invalid Block % :Hash Rate 13.338k 4s 40,950 546,191,100 13.51THs 7m 38s 0.071% 0.050% 14.52THs
and on my s9 miner status: DIFF GETWORKS ACCEPTED DIFF1# DIFFA# DIFFR# DIFFS# Rejected Discarded Stale LS DIff LS Time 13.3K 9474 75884 0 937884542 786224 0 65 151921 6 13338 0:00:06
I do have 4738 HW erros on one chain, and 36 HW, and 33 on the other hash boards. Not sure why the one is so high.
Specifically I am worried about the Invalid .071% being higher than the .050 Block % Trying to squeeze out every satoshi from the electrons that heat my house. :-)

Agreed, just looking at the possible solutions. MINE ON!! We are over 50%, every hour increases our chances of finding that next block. Come on Luck!!
WRONG!! There is nothing relating to prior hashing that impacts the likelihood of the next second, minute, hour, day, week, and so on, finding a block. (aside from difficulty changes.). It's like flipping a coin 1,000,000 times and getting a heads every time. The odds of getting a heads next flip is still 50%, just like the 999,999th time. M Not true. After 1 million coin flips, the dirt and oils from your hand will affect the aerodynamics of the coin, thus affecting the 50/50 of the possible result.

Is this because you send the transaction with a 0 fee payable and then confirm it ourselves with the next block we find, unless someone else adds it to their block and makes no fee from it?
Well for a while this year most of the time I send it with a 42,000 sat fee so you should see it unconfirmed. The catch is that if blocks are full, then other pools wont confirm it, if it has a fee or not, since it's a large transaction. If no one else confirms it before our next block, then our next block will confirm it. Can someone clarify the fees? If someone confirms the payment before the next block, will it still be 0 fee? And if it does go through with our next block, is that truly 0 fee? I am new to all this and didn't know there are tricks to getting payments confirmed with 0 fees. The fee can be assigned per transaction. Those fees are included in the block that pools find, that's anything ever the 12.5 Bitcoin. Pools/Miners choose the transactions that have the highest transaction fee payout to maximize the gains. If someone else includes our transaction in their block, they get the 45000 Satoshis that was sent as the transaction fee with that transaction. If no one does and we find the next block, that transaction is included if it is still unconfirmed, thus, we get our own 45000 satoshis in our next block, which ends up going back to our pockets.

OK, why is BTC crashing? Just curious. Someone, please accelerate the payment so we can cash it out before BTC tanks ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Then I can use it to buy low when it goes up again if it goes up! If you really think BTC is gonna tank, BTC mining is not your best choice of things to do. Maybe become a day trader? It was in jest Kano, only in jest. Other than why it was going down that is. Everyone seemed interested in the payment.... Probably crashing because of fears of Nicehash was SUPPOSED to be back up at 24:00 CET and they were late, 17 minutes, THEN a few minutes later - web server not responding hahahah NICE Start! Sorry Un-realted to Kano, but is funny none the less

OMFG I found the unconfirmed transaction for this last block, and there was a link to Accelerate the transaction, by BTC, of course for a fee.. this is what they wanted: Tx Size 38759 Bytes Price Based on the tx size, bitcoin price, etc. $12755.93 $6479.82
The 12755 was crossed out, was a good deal. GEEZ! I see why Kano does it the way he does. That's enough for power for an s9 for 7 years!
I would of pitched in a bit, but I cant afford that :-)
