261  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Netflix leads tech giants' "go-slow" protest in battle over net neutrality on: September 12, 2014, 05:07:13 AM
If the pipe ain't dumb, we are all gonna get fucked by the networks and the vested interests that control them
One of the worthiest causes of our time
262  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PrimeDice Faucet Scam on: September 11, 2014, 11:50:35 AM
PrimeDice has the right to discontinue its faucet program whenever it likes
Gamblers should exercise self-control and gamble responsibly, not blame the operators
263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Frozen Cryogenically 20 Years: Invest in Precious Metals/Stones or Bitcoin on: September 10, 2014, 07:40:01 AM
I would invest in btc and btc businesses and keep a small allocation to commodities such as gold and platinum
264  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Atheist must swear to God -- or leave US Air Force on: September 10, 2014, 07:16:56 AM
Yep, it is strange that this has been allowed to make headlines and not been settled
Guess the army's hand is being forced by conservative interests
265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you do if you stumbled on access to the satoshin@gmx.com account? on: September 10, 2014, 05:41:11 AM
I think somethings are best kept concealed for everybody's good
While I might be tempted to try to benefit personally, I would like to believe that I would do the right thing
266  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate islam? on: September 10, 2014, 05:39:15 AM
Islam always seems to be in the news for negative reasons
To a large extent, islamophobia is a direct outcome of the immediacy of the news cycle with no room for nuance or depth
That, and the fact that muslims have to hold a mirror up to themselves in many parts of the world
267  Local / India / Re: bitcoin selling and buysing legal in india on: September 08, 2014, 04:07:42 PM
Also, please please declare all btc holding and any capital gains and pay your taxes
An early and consistent rep for integrity is key to getting the government to be supportive of the community
268  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: earn bitcoin playing a mmo game (~0.2 btc pm) on: September 05, 2014, 04:32:57 PM
Sounds like a fairly onerous and long winded way to earn very little coin
I will just gamble, thanks
269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MIT’s bookstore to accept Bitcoins from students on: September 05, 2014, 04:23:08 PM
Pretty damn cool
That said, one would expect vendors on the campus of one of the worlds foremost tech universities to be enthusiastic adopters of new technology
270  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice Moderator Positions Open - Apply or Nominate! on: September 05, 2014, 03:07:47 PM
I think I know the answer already but I guess non-PD folks cannot be moderators
271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price PLUS $1000 - Would Bitcoin then see world wide acceptance? on: September 05, 2014, 03:03:50 PM
Probably closer to $5k is where the price would be stable enough to drive that kind of mass consumer and merchant adoption and importantly spending
272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Predictions : Mining of new bitcoins stops tommorow on: September 05, 2014, 09:22:58 AM
Probably a (temporary?) spike in the price
remember much of the present downard price pressure is due to miners switching 70-90% of new btc's into fiat to pay bills
273  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which Wallet should be suggested to a newbie? on: September 05, 2014, 09:21:10 AM
bitcoin-qt and blockchain
274  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Scottish Independence May Be Coming Soon on: September 05, 2014, 09:10:45 AM
Good on the Scots if that's what they really want
The irony is that the Union of 1707 happened because of economic stagnation and uncertainty, not unlike today
275  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it possible that 1 BTC be worth $2,000 by the end of 2015? on: September 03, 2014, 10:33:39 AM
That's a pretty realistic expectation
Not certain, but not difficult to see happen
My personal expectation is $2k-5k for end of 2015
276  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Member Accounts [0.025 BTC ONLY] on: September 02, 2014, 04:30:31 PM
Why don't you just keep them?
If they pay more in a month than you are asking, it seems to make no sense to sell
277  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA - Federal study on lesbian obesity costs $3 million on: September 02, 2014, 04:10:36 AM
It seems rather stupid, admittedly
But I would imagine many such studies of marginal utility are undertaken, which then makes it tricky to decide which ones should and which ones shouldn't be funded at all
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do average people run full nodes on: September 01, 2014, 03:31:19 PM
It's the collegiality, selflessness and public spirited ness that characterises the crypto community
Self interest alone cannot explain why it works
279  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best exchange to withdraw EUR ? on: August 30, 2014, 03:50:35 PM
bitcoin.de works for Euro deposits and payouts
Can take time to trade a larger position though as liquidity can be a little variable
280  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Safe but anonymous exchange ? on: August 30, 2014, 03:39:16 PM
My issue with local bitcoins is that it can take a pretty long time to accumulate a position
And most sellers are trying to extract a stiff above market price
I suppose anonymity has a price
