http://speedminers.com/hotcoin is back! Had to manually look through the daemon code to fix a couple of bugs which were causing a higher amount of rejects.. We should get more block accepts now!

Let's go!

Come on? Down again... wtf are you doing?

Not down, just turned stat reporting down to 10 mins to see if it helped reduce server load - I am pushing the server to its limits so trying to lighten the load. Mining server was not switched off.

Are you still on the 10 minute stat reporting program? The pool is at ~48% of the global hash rate and at nearly 1200% shares? Not impossible but highly unlikely...
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to ruin Dogecoin on: December 26, 2013, 12:42:50 AM
guys you are so delusional. dogecoin for facebook users? ahahahah
bitcoin didn't make it YET and you think a shitcoin like doge can go out of this forum?
Seriously?
Let's dump it and create a new one, it's getting old

The only reason altcoins aren't mainstream is because it still requires some basic technical knowledge to get a wallet setup and the likes. When altcoins do become mainstream, you don't think a huge company like Facebook is just going to ignore such a trend?

Doesn't Facebook have it's own crude form of currency? If it sees how popular alt currencies are, why wouldn't they buy one up that's already popular?

Isn't that classic big company behaviour? Wait until something's mainstream, then buy it up.

Maybe not Dogecoin, but still.

With how often new altcoins are released, why would Facebook, a multi-billion dollar company not just hire someone to develop their own Facebook Coin?

Seems like people are releasing new coins by themselves out of their basement lately. The only thing that sets dogecoin apart right now is it's massive casual following and the huge coin base that makes it so accessible.

As expected. Move along, nothing to see here.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SKY] Skycoin Launch Announcement on: December 25, 2013, 07:52:48 AM
For those of you wondering HOW Skycoin is generated, it's not. The entire market cap will already exist at coin launch and the only way to get it is to buy it from the developers at the price that THEY set.

One possible distribution method is releasing a certain percentage of the coins per day onto an exchange.

Another distribution method involves people putting Bitcoin into a pot and they receive coins proportional to how many coins were put into the pot.

For people who cant read the readme, we are releasing a mining client. The Skycoin mining client mines Dodgecoin and then sells the Dodgecoin for Bitcoin and then uses the Bitcoin to buy Skycoin at the current market rate.

No matter how you spin it; You, as the developer, control 100% of the coins at launch. They still have to be purchased from you in order for anyone to obtain them and you set the initial market price at whatever you want.

Mining dogecoin to trade into Bitcoin and then to Skycoin? Why the hell would anyone want to do that?

Are there any functional mining pools? Did the chain fork or something? Everything is in maintenance mode.

271  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: All of this talk of China, and it's the west that keeps dropping the price? on: December 19, 2013, 05:56:14 PM
The West is reacting to the changes in China causing a double-dump. People in the West know that China will be dumping and crashing the price so they dump too probably hoping to buy back in before it hits the upturn again. Unfortunately, the upturn has been sluggish.
