CoinPayments isn't mining or investing coins, we accept coins from party X and send them to party Y. Those smaller unregistered processors will have to get licensed or shut down eventually (if they are based in the USA or other countries that decide to regulate in the same way).

|
Not that I can see, anyone based in the U.S. and very shortly other major countries as they regulate crypto will not be able to legally run a processor without having substantial cash backing already and registering with and following all of their AML/KYC laws. If we'd started a year or two earlier we would probably be in a position to make that happen but we were too late for the game.

|
It's because we accept money from buyer X and send it to seller Y, that makes us a money transmitter (even though we don't touch fiat).

Are there any alternative payment processors accepting multiple cryptocurrencies? There is nothing even close to the scale of CoinPayments in terms of currencies supported, no. There are a few that accept both Bitcoin and Litecoin such as https://www.btcmerch.com/ and https://www.gocoin.com/Paysha at http://paysha.com/ is going to accept 4+ coins once they launch. Note: We have not used any of these processors and cannot vouch for their reliability or legality.

IXC was 7th with 11 votes (and that was being generous, several of those were definitely botted as well).
Edit: Here are the stats for IXC: 245 votes removed due to duplicate IPs (leaving one vote per IP intact unless they were part of an obvious bot pattern, mostly Tor here), 8 fake/bounced emails, and 24 using Tor that matched the pattern the duplicate IPs were using.

Usually around once a month, but TBD.

Yes, next time we'll post a rule list and make it more clear.
Edit: We have 11.5k more iCoins for sale at CoinRush if anyone is interested in buying. Depending on how long it takes we may have to send the iCoin BTC to The Water Project at a later date, I don't want to delay the vote donation.

Ok, we have our winners: PandaCoin 79 votes KlondikeCoin 64 iCoin 46 Maxcoin 39 Diamond 19 And a wildcard pick from us: MintCoin You can see the full adjusted results at https://www.coinpayments.net/voteWe'll try to have all the new coins online within 24-48 hours barring any issues. We may add a couple of the runner ups in the next week or two, but no promises on that.

popshot, you are right that we didn't post enough on the rules; we were building on our previous votes and the things we said then but not everyone was there for those. Basically we are working on the rule of this: 1 vote per person and they did the donation themselves; nobody else paid for them and they are not rewarded/reimbursed for their vote. Or in other words if someone has to try to justify how something wasn't cheating, it's probably cheating. --------------- You're a little late for the vote UTC supporters, maybe next time

Ok, we have our donation totals: BTC: 0.59900000 LTC: 21.75029500 DOGE: 129059.65920300 DOGE sold at Cryptsy @ 0.00000205 = 0.26457025 BTC. LTC sold at Cryptsy @ 0.02506002 = 0.54496603 BTC. Grand total: 1.40853628 BTC! It is in address https://blockchain.info/address/1E2KLoBR3cXv1d9WdAwDeTxGM2fJN4MsXM until we send it to the Water Project later today or tomorrow (to work out details with them to verify the donation for everyone.) For the permanent public record I have posted this information at pastebin too as guest so it can't be deleted/edited: http://pastebin.com/uFySeAs8

I don't really understand this whole bot detection thing between you and Mintpal. Couldn't I just bot the top 10 coins to get them disqualified so my coin gets in? Everyone is probably botting eachother. Botting only disqualifies the bot votes, it won't disqualify the coin itself. We thought of that attack vector too.

|
|
Checking for duplicate IP addresses, obviously fake/bounced emails, checking against the StopForumSpam and HTTP:BL lists (automatic disqualify if on those lists since they are mostly botnets and spambots), if it's a Tor node (they won't be disqualified just for being on Tor but will bring extra scrutiny to see if they are part of a larger pattern), and good old fashioned human looking for patterns in the times and emails. One of the most popular during this vote was reallookingname[somerandomcharacters]@outlook.com using Tor IPs, 85+ of those.

While it is good for the charity we also need accurate numbers. Whoever has the biggest wallet to spend on votes doesn't tell us anything about how many people would actually like to shop at stores using X coin
|
|
|
The problem you guys will face is that if you remove the bot votes from iOcoin, iXCoin,Panda and Klondike there won't be much for charity.
The donations for the disqualified votes will still be going to the The Water Project, even if they don't count towards the coins.

And.... times up A few votes are already in progress so a few more will trickle in but no new votes will be accepted. Now begins the big task of going through the votes and removing fraudulent votes, (of which there are a lot, as seems to be usual now). Once the last votes have completed or timed out we'll post the final totals of BTC, LTC, and DOGE in this thread and convert the LTC and DOGE to BTC. Originally we were only going to convert the Dogecoin but The Water Project asked us to convert the LTC too.) The final vote results will be posted by 12:00pm EST (GMT -0500).

Hi guys, pr0digy posted the facepalm because you are running a vote bribe thread openly; even posting the transaction IDs of the votes. (And ironically complaining about other coins cheating lol)
