262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: STOP telling people how much Bitcoin you have on: February 16, 2024, 05:42:53 PM

I see so many people that come around here sharing how much bitcoin they own...don't.  Just like any of your finances such as your portfolio or how much your annual salary is..it's no one's business but your own.  Being transparent about these things can be harmful to you in a multitude of ways.  As an advisor this is something I tell my clients all the time.  Your financial info is private and should always remain that way.  I hate these new social media trends where people walk up to strangers on the street and ask things like "how much do you pay in rent" or "how much money do you make a year"...ignore them!

I couldn't agree with you more brother, this is such wisdom and a best practice to go by. The less information you give out about yourself the better. Especially in these AI models who knows what the information you input in how its going to be used. Be vigilant in your defense and mind your business.

266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Beginner's Guide to the Bitcoin Halving Event on: February 11, 2024, 10:56:47 PM
Once this halving happens we will be one step closer to another ATH! I personally can't wait until that day. Historically they say that 1 year after halving we should see new ATHs and that puts us right at 2025. Lets go!!!! I guess the only bad part about the halving is the part for miners where they make half the amount of money for the same amount of work, technically harder work lol.
267  Economy / Economics / Re: Leadership and Economics on: February 11, 2024, 08:23:12 PM

Quote
In general, leadership describes a close relationship between a leader and a group of people who are led because of common interests. Leadership is the central point and dynamist of the entire process of organizational activities. Leadership is absolutely necessary when there is cooperative interaction between two or more people in achieving organizational goals.

Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchard in the theory of "Life Cycle Leadership" which was later renamed the theory of "Situational Leadership" (1969), argued that the essence of leadership is achieving goals through group cooperation. Leadership should be placed at the front followed by management. Why leadership must be placed first is because leadership basically reflects the leader's process of creating a vision, influencing the attitudes, behavior, opinions, values, norms, and so on of followers to realize that vision.

The figure of a leader is very important for the economic growth of a region because the rules he makes will boost the rate of economic growth when it occurs effectively. investors will also feel comfortable with the right leader because their trust in their funds is well maintained, now there are many examples of countries experiencing good economic growth because they chose the right leader

what about you, do you agree with the right leader can make your life as a citizen, businessman or an investor comfortable?

Oh I 100 percent agree that the right leader makes the largest impact! Look at Trump vs Biden Presidential terms and its night and day lol I mean this stuff is common sense though. I really hope that the USA gets Trump back! Biden has lost it.
268  Economy / Economics / Re: Insurance is important on: February 11, 2024, 08:20:06 PM
This is good advice to buy life insurance and have quality health insurance for your family. Don't listen to the salesman on the whole life policy just go with term insurance. Also health insurance can be expensive just make sure you shop around! In addition to all of these I would recommend AAA lol also probably would recommend a Trust for your family so that your wealth can transfer to your kids tax free
269  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is hard!!! on: February 11, 2024, 08:13:58 PM
They never said it was going to be easy and if they did they lied! All of the types of trading pose huge risks, you just have to be sure to be confident in what you choose in the end by doing research and sometimes just trusting to go with your own gut.
270  Other / Meta / Re: Should bitcointalk ban promotion of other forums? on: February 11, 2024, 08:09:48 PM
I honestly don't see a huge problem with it, they are probably cross promoting Btslk anyhow. I have actually been thinking about joining other forums as well but for other purposes. Like I am interested in a hackers forum and maybe some other IT related forums etc just for educational purposes.
271  Other / Meta / Re: Use of AI on Bitcoin talk on: February 11, 2024, 08:07:37 PM
You can quote AI as long as you credit the program and use the quotation marks. The only thing that is against the rules is using the AI work as your own.
272  Economy / Collectibles / Re: What are your top 3 events in bitcoin history? on: February 11, 2024, 08:03:01 PM
For me personally I have 3 time periods that were of major significance to me.

1. The time I was introduced to this in NY in 2009 but never followed up on looking it up

2. The time my friend included me in a Facebook group chat with 40 others in 2014 urging us to look into Bitcoin. Still I didn't.

3. The time I could literally hear a pin drop in a large and occupoed cubicle office and then I suddenly get up and ask the question about Bitcoin and everyone shot up in excitement! It was then I realized Bitcoins importance and I began looking into it.

Really the most important date though is the time that I met with a former client, I'll look up that post it's wild
273  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano X Circus (Battery, Recover and more) on: February 11, 2024, 07:57:36 PM
I mean what can you expect from a company that severely dropped the ball in multiple instances. They shouldn't be trusted to hold your coins. I wouldn't trust them or even touch this Bluetooth device with a 10 foot pole!! Ledger is a ticking time bomb waiting to happen and I wouldn't he surprised if peoples funds start magically disappearing
274  Economy / Economics / Re: Coping with Risk. on: February 11, 2024, 06:02:24 PM
A physical location could still be hacked you have to remember just to have safeguards in place such as cyber insurance, you should also have an Endpoint Detection and Response cyber security solution to make sure you aren't vulnerable to ransomware. The same risks apply to an online business and of course the handling or BTC and crypto must be safeguarded extremely well because this is exactly what ransomeware groups are after!
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong Moves With Your Bitcoin on: February 11, 2024, 05:57:05 PM
Ah yes, I'm sorry that you did this OP but we shall live and learn, EH? HODLing is no easy task especially in the bear but when you make it to the other end it is surely glorious. There is a lot more time you can still buy back BTC!!
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will it have positive/negative on bitcoin development? on: February 11, 2024, 05:54:39 PM
Craig Wright will stop to no end, this guy is completely delusional and I can't believe he is still trying to prove he is the creator, he is clearly not and idk how some people can truly be fooled by this and his "Satoshi vision bitcoin" lol what a load of mumbo jumbo.
277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it okay for Bitcoin Core development to be funded by Banks? on: February 11, 2024, 05:52:43 PM
core devs have been funded by many corporations for years. DCG and others funded core devs from 2014+
why do you think most bitcoin code updates have not been to make bitcoin network use more easy, cheap, able. and instead be code exploits to annoy bitcoin network users in an aim to push people into using other middlemen required services and subnetworks

Wow I guess this just gives clear context on the extent people are willing to go to try to stop bitcoin, they can't fully stop it so they resort to mildly inconvenience the users lol must be a frustrating line of work to be in lol
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does BTC mean to you? on: February 11, 2024, 03:32:32 PM
BTC means a whole world of possibilities to me! There is so much you can do with it, and it's utilities and value surpass any other asset class in my opinion. One day I will pass bitcoin onto my family and there are always things to be learned and an amazing community of people especially on here to interact with.
279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware all Crypto Owners. Privatekey of Bitcoins & Altcoins Are Compromised. on: February 11, 2024, 03:37:28 AM
And so we don't need Quantum Computers to break every existing private keys moving forward as they are now all compromised by this one website + Bitcoin address? I think the OP shows that he doesn't know how Bitcoin works and how it is hard to crack private keys. Anyhow, good luck to him on his journey. He can start to break every Bitcoin address he can find in this community alone and see how many of them can he break or crack and get those precious Bitcoin. Alamy website? I haven't heard of it and I'm not interested to know as it has nothing to do with crypto at all.

I think this whole idea that all crypto keys are tied to this one website lol. Which ones? he just says crypto in general and thats it but I wonder if its only certain ones. Also if you have already compromized any of these I would love to see some proof!
280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are credit unions so much safer than banks? on: February 11, 2024, 03:31:20 AM
Honestly thats not a bad play at all man. Credit unions are smaller and probably less prone to scam. They are all covered by the same FDIC 250k guarantee as well. I like the credit union that I use I should go there more often.
