mcxNOW just added MaxCoin to the exchange!

What a clusterfuck this launch was. I had 72 cores online and synced 15 minutes after the genesis block. I also had an nVidia card running solo. I'm confident that 1GH pool won't pay me for any of my shares/blocks, even though I was in the top 10 for an hour or two initially. I still haven't received any coins.
1gh.com pool has been paying me and i only had 4 cores! The coins are in my wallet already.

You have to make sure that you were not using the cpuminer from the maxcoin site but the one from https://github.com/1gh/cpuminer

Don't waste your CPU cycles on the 1GH pool, the guy running it has confirmed his pool does not work with Maxcoin. Here is a tweet from him replying to @maxcoinproject:
1gh does not work indeed with your cpuminer. No stratum pool does, you messed up txids.
https://twitter.com/1ghcom/statuses/431591291642597376
According to him the Maxcoin devs messed up something.

That sounds rather serious.

I understand that they were having trouble yesterday,  but why not post also post the information on the 1st page? I went to the website and I cannot even download the Windows wallet. It says go to twitter for everything, and what I get is an organized mess of twitter posts. Why not post everything in the front pages, even if they were DDOS yesterday? Why bother not putting there and also everywhere else?
I have to agree, these guys are incredibly sloppy for such an anticipated launch.

The have not tested their code.

I found 3 bugs trying to compile on Linux.

Some show stopper bug trying to compile on MacOX snow leopard.

Windows binary was buggy haven't tried to compile that yet.

The cgminer source is broken.

The main website is useless.

They haven't updated this thread.

Twitter and Reddit are useless ways to organize information.

What stratum version are pool owners supposed to use with this coin?
No wonder they are not up yet.

I warned Max multiple times he hired the most incompetent devs possible. It will be tough to kill this one off with the amount of hype it will get but it sure deserves to die.

He actually paid someone for this?
Of course not, didn't you see the episode, it was a couple of guys from one of the local Uni's or something like that who wanted to make a coin. I guess they figured if they call it Maxcoin they can get a plug on his show.

coingen better than this
except it doesn't do sha3 or allow you to select the block retarget.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 06, 2014, 11:54:24 PM
http://max.1gh.com/ has to be scamming, that much power and no blocks yet

yes ... been mining for 1 hour no payouts/confirmed/unconfirmed ... zilch
Does your miner say the shares are being accepted?

How can I find my wallet address using maxcoind?

Worst overhyped launch EVER.

You obviously haven't seen many alt-coin launches then. Remember YAC with one pool and the crazy client.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 06, 2014, 11:34:13 PM
someone is asking .1 BTC / MAX?  you can't be serious
That's a normal starting price for a new coin. It will change quickly.
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 06, 2014, 11:29:48 PM
anyone got coins from http://max.1gh.com/?

I have a decent hashhrate and it's not even showing up in the hall of fame.
The front page says the pool hasn't found a block yet.

Guys,

cgminer posted on github is copperlark version and is not functional at all.

cudaminer seems to miscalculate the share difficulty. Only cpuminer works properly with max.1gh.com on the moment.
Someone posted here yesterday that only a few lines of code in that version need changing to make it work.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 06, 2014, 10:45:31 PM
All this whining from miners will be good, it means the coin price will be up, as it's not spread around.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 06, 2014, 10:35:51 PM
The reason the difficulty is so high is because this is mineable with CUDAminer and an NVIDIA GPU. There are people reporting 1+GH already.
How do you know he difficulty is high? Do you have some magical, reference point for sha3 coins to work from?
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 06, 2014, 10:30:29 PM
the devs using their GPUs, they know there are a Cgminer exist that support GPUs to mine SHA-3, and I have it and I did test it
your CPU do 300-600 kh/s, but with this CGminer you will do 84MH/s!! 200 times more hashing power than a single cpu, this explain how the coin difficulty did skyrocket, those people are scammers

I would hope they are, considering the source code for it has been up on github for over 4 hours, well before the launch time.

The best part is they tried to blame Bitcointalk for yesterday's failed launch.
Yeah well the consistent 502 errors were rather convincing.

278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 06, 2014, 09:24:42 PM
Anyone got a working cgminer for win32 yet?

I am not set up to compile on Windows 7
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 06, 2014, 09:22:40 PM
Considering there seems to be quite a few people solo mining already, I am surprised the pools are not up yet!
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 06, 2014, 09:17:16 PM
I have been solo mining for about 15min, haven't found anything yet but it all seems to be working.
