Summer is coming!  and and along with it, the heat of our machines will make it intolerable! All that bright sunshine will bring out the beast in anyone! Anyway, with the new season of Game of Thrones upon us, maybe we can start a fun meme thread. And while I'm at it, I'd like to introduce anyone who might be interested to our coin, Darkcoin. Evan Duffield, our developer, has created a truly unique coin. Starting off with the X-11 algorithm. He didn't know it at the time, but it turns out that hashing X-11 runs 30-40 percent cooler than script, and almost 3X as fast (that's important to know when you look at difficulty as it isn't as bad as it seems) So if the anonymity feature of Darksend from the wallet doesn't interest you.... If the very quick to respond Dark-Gravity-Wave (replacement for KGW) doesn't interest you.... If the ASIC resistance and fact that CPU mining is still viable despite having GPU miners as well doesn't interest you... And finally, if having an amazing developer with a ton of things up his sleeve and open to ideas isn't of interest to you... Maybe having your computers running 30 - 40% cooler will!?!?!?!?! How about starting seperating this huuuge thread into smaller?
1) How to mine, Pools, difficulty, DGW discussion etc
2) Logo and general marketing
3) News for Darkcoin
4) Exchanges and services that use darkcoin
This way it is easier for people to see the coin anyway and it helps even us to keep truck with what is going on...

I was trying to mine with my cpu as well as gpu but as soon as I started my cpu my miner crashed so I tryed another coin with only cpu but still crashed would this be something to do with my drivers What CPU and how much RAM do you have ? Thanks I have a 8x piledriver with 16 gb of ram . I have tried x miner and 1.2 miner with dark coin I also tried mining heavy coin just to test but still crashes. I'm thinking there might be something in my bios I have turn off or my amd drivers. If you run only the CPU miner does it work? Have you tried the 1.3 miner found in the first post? I have tried cpu only but still crashes I haven't tried 1.3 but I tried heavy coin to test with mining program found on there site and that crashes also. Can't get my head round it Does it even start? Did you take a look at the temperatures? What OS are you using? and does your .bat look like this: minerd -a X11 -o stratum+tcp://213.229.88.102:7903/ -u XXXXXX -p x this is kinda weird I use win 7.. the miners start up for about 30 sec then the screen goes blank then pc turns complety off even lights on motherboard goes of till I switch it off from psu then bk on.. I think I'll try formatting and starting fresh with up to date driver.. Thanks for your help |

Hi all
Can't understand why people are not jumping on this coin before darksand is complete ( not gunna b this price for long). Got a spot on dev who is constantly updating and active. Am I missing something or am I jumping the gun. This is the reason btc took of so well people thinking it was untraceable but now we find out it is. If half the people who don't want no one seeing there transactions from btc jump to dark ( which is quiet a few people I reckon) we should see dark explode.. Am I missing something

SuchPool is over 51%, with two 1gh miners, and one 1gh miner on coinmine.pl. I thought exploit was fixed yesterday.

Hi all
Is it possible to mine with cpu as well as 2 7970 as i have a 8x pile-driver sitting doing nothing. Would it put to much stress on my miner. Has any one tried mining with a pile-driver if so what speed would I expect.

Also loving this coin and I'm very impressed with the devs (very clever) I'm all in on this coin and hope to see it get more and more popular surely it's gota be better then the rest

Here's what I did: -search the internet for some basic settings for your card like thread concurrency, shaders, intensity -set memclock to highest stable (trial and error) -set engineclock to something like 0.6*memclock and keep tweaking in steps of first 50 then 10 up or down til you find the sweetspot Thanks man. I'll give it a try. I'm getting avg. 2225 on my R9-280X-TDBD using PHM-Sgminer on Windows 7 x64 with Catalyst 14.1. Temp @ 59C -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8191 Thanks all. managed to get mine to 2 mh by just updating to the latest version. |
