but can you explain to me what is the purpose of the project? what is the finished product and what is it for? I apologize, but I just saw this project and it became very interesting to me
The GeoCoin project was designed to bring GIS & GeoTechnologies to the blockchain. We're developing a GPS based geocashing game which allows users to drag and drop crypto right on the map for others to collect through Proof of Location (PoL). The number of applications is up to the community, whether that be advertising for a company or event, creating a scavenger hunt, or even trying to pick up coins while snowboarding.

over the weekend I saw a lot of new logs from geocachers in the community finding the trackable GeoCoins and helping them on their journey from cache to cache. I'll be trying to get out some more physical trackables and potentially a geocache of my own nearby
if there are any avid geocachers here in the community that would like to help drop off some trackables please send me a direct message

Geocoin mining is stopped pẻmanently???
Yes that is correct, the snapshot block occurred at block #1568125 back in January. Every block mined after this # is on the original blockchain which is considered developer abandoned. Once we have the new Ubiq network wallet up and running in the backend, we will start the implementation of the new Proof of Location (PoL) process of dropping new GEO onto the mapbox interface for the community to collect.

So i understand when the fork happened nobody received nothing? I was thinking that for ex if a had 200 geo i will receive at fork another 200 Ubiq
Our blockchain upgrade resulted in a 1:1 migration of all GeoCoin balances from the original POW blockchain over to the Ubiq network as a new ERC20 token. After the swap you will have the 200 GEO that you had prior to the swap. You will not be receiving any UBQ as a result of this migration.

Do you guys have a video tutorial about this swap. I finally recover my GEO from Poloniex and they are stored in the old GEO desktop wallet but I have not been able to get the watch contract. What is suppose I have to type for the contract name space?
All the instructions for making a manual swap claim can be found here: http://geo.money/coinswapclaim/You'll need to add the GeoCoin contract address in under "Watch Tokens", not watch contracts. 0x500684CE0D4f04aBeDff3e54fCF8acC5E6CFc4bD

Been playing around with my small mining rig to help earn some UBQ for transactions and support the network. Lots of support provided by the #ubiq-miners channel on discord!

We are planning to add some new public geocaches to the geocaching.com community to help promote the GeoCoin project to the already vibrant geocacher community. Just researching the process at this point in time and getting ready to submit our first "coordinate check". https://twitter.com/geo_coin/status/978309650167681024

I did ask them to replace 'Coin' with 'Token' already so hopefully that will transfer over soon. I decided to keep 'Mineable' since we will be doing our Proof of Location (POL) drops once we get the game up and running.
May you, please, ask coinmarketcap to add link to GeoCoin slack or discrod chat? I see Ubiq and Ethereum have links to chat and message board. I think will be nice to have chat link on cmc. Thanks in advance! That is a great idea! I'll reach out to the CMC team and see if they can update that on our listing. Thanks for the suggestion. Edit: Wow that was a quick turn around, thanks to the CMC team! https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/geocoin/

Ok i found a link to " http://geo.money/coinswapclaim/" but now i have the problem to sync the old geocoinwallet, is there a downloadable blockchain or nodes which i could add? I have some GeoCoins in my wallet (old chain), how to swap it, is there a guide?
You can try to add the following nodes in the debug window console addnode 46.105.118.15:9748 add addnode 144.76.238.2:9748 add That should help your wallet resync. I believe you can also sign the message without being fully synced. Just follow the instructions and send the 3 pieces of information 1. Wallet address 2. Ubiq network address (put this in the message) 3. Calculated cryptographic signature Hope that helps!

Happy to announce our next GeoCoin demo video is out today! We go over some of the updated information now that we have completed to the migration over to the Ubiq Network. Show off some frontend beta testing of the upcoming MapBox interface and discuss our next phase of development plans. Let's keep it GEOing! https://twitter.com/geo_coin/status/975809474626666496

I agree, also the swap process relies on using the GEO desktop wallet to cryptographically prove your ownership of said coins that were included in the snapshot block. If your coins were on Yobit exchange, you technically do not possess the private keys required to make a manual claim. Without cryptographically signed proof we cannot process your claim, that is why the coins on Yobit cannot be supported.

hey mates, I have some GEO on yobit, I was out of trading for some time and there was a swap. Is it possible to make a swap manually by sending coins to devs or somehow in a different way?
Unfortunately if your coins were on Yobit at the time of the swap, you won't possess the appropriate private keys for the wallet required to prove ownership with a manual swap claim process. The Yobit exchange is still operating on the original blockchain which is now considered developer abandoned. Any coins remaining on Yobit can not be supported on the Ubiq Network. I also have some coins on yobit. So what have I to do with them now? For what reason Yobit didn't support a swap? Usually they did it. For example, they provided swap of PACcoin recently. Do you mean that all of GEO coins remaining on Yobit exchange cost nothing now? Leading up to the swap we sent multiple messages to the Yobit support staff, but no response was ever provided to us so the swap could not occur on their exchange. I sent out some warning messages prior to the snapshot block telling Yobit users to withdraw their coins to a different exchange or risk not being included. As I mentioned before, coins on Yobit are part of the original blockchain which is now developer abandoned. What you do with those GeoCoins is up to you at this point.

Hi, I just discovered that some pools are still mining GEO on the old blockchain Do I overlook something here? Will it still be possible to swap the mined coins to the new one? I don't think so, but I thought I ask to be sure Those pools are operating on the old blockchain as you said, but none of the mined GEO will be supported by a swap. Only the balances that occurred on or before the snapshot block at #1568125 are supported on the Ubiq Network. Thanks for asking!

Some more good news, I was able to work out the remaining items with the CoinMarketCap team and have them update our currency listing. We now have both the Bittrex and Cryptopia market pairs added to the price discovery algorithm. We also have our new block explorer linked in as well. Everything is now up-to-date for the GEO now that we've swapped to the Ubiq Network. Hooray! https://twitter.com/geo_coin/status/973602011949162496Congratulations! I don't wana be boring and critic but theres is still tags 'Coin' and 'Mineable'. Will it be changed to 'Token'? Let's keep GEO! I did ask them to replace 'Coin' with 'Token' already so hopefully that will transfer over soon. I decided to keep 'Mineable' since we will be doing our Proof of Location (POL) drops once we get the game up and running.
