Now I sat back and think about a few arguments we had in the past, remember when the forum stop supporting mixers? It was in that period, he was so supportive of mixers like it is a must but I kept saying that I have no reasons to use mixers, I could have been suspicious of him then but I trusted him.

Many people are going to hate me for this but I don't blame the law for going after mixers and privacy featured wallets in crypto space, if you believe that you are clean it is only to yourself, the other users might not, you really can't tell who to trust or not.
When few criminals use a service, it doesn't make such a service bad. I am not a criminal but I am a full supporter of Bitcoin mixing services. I don't want anybody including the government to monitor or know about my financial transactions. Is privacy now a criminal offence? Why didn't the government close banks that engaged in money laundering?

Quote
Many people are criminals in disguise and they are ruining bitcoin name by scamming people using Bitcoin as if it is a safe pass to scam people for free and get away with it, so no wonder that the government hates Mixers and privacy in this space, who is to be blame if not for our people who are criminals in disguise?

Not all Bitcoin investors are real investors, some are just hiding and pretending to be Bitcoin real investors, even if they are close to you, it doesn't mean they are clean, many good people want privacy and mixers to prevail but I wonder how when bad people are taking advantage of these features to steal from others.
The highest amount of scams in my country is through fiat. The Bitcoin space is not the only area that has scammers. Scams and other criminal activities are prevalent in almost all sectors of the world. Has the use of guns for criminal activities made the government stop gun possession? The government's responsibility is to increase enlightenment programmes about cybersecurity to help people avoid scams.
263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it proper for younger ones to gamble? on: May 08, 2024, 07:29:37 PM
Because nowadays the younger ones take gambling more seriously then school. Yesterday i got back home early so I decided to step out and go to a betting shop to catch some fun while gambling, I saw two teenagers gambling with their school uniforms on them.

I asked someone besides me why did they allow this boy's to come in with their uniforms and gamble, he said did they put any restrictions that younger ones are not allowed to gamble. I said but it's not normal, I replied him what if this are your kids would you be happy seeing them gambling with their uniforms on them. So what do you guys think about this situation at hand now.
In my country, the legal gambling age is eighteen and above. At this age, most children have graduated from secondary school, except for a few exceptions. So it is very rare to see students on uniforms in any physical casino. I have been in many betting shops where underaged children who wanted to gamble were sent back and some of them were reported to their parents and school authorities. They don't allow underaged gamblers in their casinos because the operators of the casinos can be fined or persecuted by regulatory authorities .

But some casinos are so interested in profit-making that they can accept anybody to use their gambling platform. I will report any physical casino that encourages underage gambling because they are endangering the future of these inexperienced children.
264  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fraudulent e mail on: May 08, 2024, 07:15:36 PM
Hello this is my 1st post here. I am fairly new to BTC and have dabbled a little and have an account with Coinbase. I made a small amount of profit and it is held in cash in my coinbase account ATM. This morning I received an e mail from Coinbase telling me I had to immediately move it into an online wallet and gave a link. It all looked v legit until I looked at the e mail address - events@byhealthmeans.com needless to say I won't be transferring the funds but has anyone else had such an e mail from this address before? It was far more professional than other phishing e mails I have had.
A close look at the email will show that it is a scam. The easy means of checking how authentic the email is is to visit the Coinbase website and I think the email is well spelled out in the platform. This email looks like a hospital or a service provider contact. You can also check the validity of such emails by contacting the customer care of the exchange.

I have also fallen victim of this and sometimes, I just warn my friends to be careful not to click any verification emails that they might receive claiming to verify their Coinbase account. In my case, I do not have a Coinbase account so it was clear that these scammers were trying to open Coinbase accounts using the email addresses of other people.
The bull run is also a period of increase in scams and fraud. I usually tell people that it is good to invest but it is more important to know how to keep it safe. We should always verify any information we see online before believing them.
265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: May 08, 2024, 07:02:39 PM
Borussia reaching the final of the Champions League is a bit of a surprise. In the first semi-final they played great. In the second match Borussia were lucky, PSG hit the bar twice and at the end of the second match, they hit the crossbar twice. But I can't say that Dortmund reached the final undeservedly. Still, Borussia were very lucky in the second game, will they be as lucky in the final?
Agreed Borussia Dortmund was just very lucky to be in the finals. Even in the first leg semi-final match, PSG also hit the post twice. This is another indication that football wins can also be determined by luck. PSG strikers were also wasteful upfront because they missed a whole lot of chances. Dortmund will definitely be the underdog in the finals because Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are the better sides. Before now I was supporting PSG since they have never lifted the trophy. Since it didn't turn out as planned,  I have shifted my support to Borussia Dortmund because they have just won the Champions League trophy once. Today's game will be the finals before the main finals because the two teams involved play quality and entertaining football.

But it's not secret anymore the base central blockchains will be well known blockchains for new CBDC in otherwords crypto and stablecoins holders will reap the biggest benefits of the global economical movements trading and transactions i think we gona have ultimate winner of new digital USD the circle USDC and xrp Will be more out of USA.
I don't know how you got the information that stablecoin holders will benefit more from the world economy. Stablecoin coins are just altcoins that are backed up by mainly fiat currency. The only way stablecoins will be profitable is when the value of the fit currency appreciates.

I am yet to see any country that successfully implemented the CBDC. They usually lose momentum after about six months of launch and the die out. It's difficult for the CBDC to work because people know that they will no different from the paper currency.
This was exactly what happened in my country. When the government saw that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies were becoming popular in my country. They made laws to restrict its operations and to turn people away from cryptocurrencies they introduced CBDC. There was enough publicity to promote the use of this centralized coin. However, the people were not attracted to the CBDC because they knew that it was fiat currency that was recorded in the blockchain.

Even though Juventus had tried to give their full strength to face several of the opponents they faced, the facts on the field were that Juventus missed all the opportunities available and only ended up in third place on the standings with a draw in four consecutive matches. There are still five matches left, they must continue to draw again and don't choose to lose because that will eliminate the opportunity to get a point on the standings.
The remaining matches for the Juventus team this season are only three more, not five. And with the remaining matches, of course Juventus must be able to continue to get points so that they can be in the top three positions until the end of this season, because Bologna themselves are always ready to take that position if Juventus is no longer consistent in getting points in the remaining matches this season. Even though Bologna's position is not completely safe, Atalanta is also very ready to pursue that position because they still have more games left to play in the remainder of this season.
It will be better if Juventus can at least win one of their remaining matches to seal up their champion league qualification next season, because I am not cool with the draws, however it is better to share points than lose all three points. Juventus position is at threat only if Bologna starts performing poorly like them Juventus that is when they can finish at third position. Atalanta still have two outstanding matches, that if they win they will be on the 5th position which is a threat.
If they continue with this inconsistent performance Juventus might eventually miss the champion slot. They have drawn four games at a roll which had made their position shaky. Draws are better than wins but it will be better to lose two games and win two than to draw four. This is because drawing four games will to four points while winning two and losing two will fetch six points. Atalanta is in 57 points so even if they win both outstanding matches, they will just get to 63 points which is below Juventus's 60 points. Atalanta might have to settle for Europa, they will only make it to the UCL if the four top teams drop points while they keep winning.

What the fuck is this topic?
Does this look like a place to discuss history?

You're Nigerian and I'm Nigerian. If you have nothing better to write about then stop creating topics and spend time reading about Bitcoin.

You should have something better to do than write about slave trade. How does this benefit the forum?

Please delete this.
The thread is not a bad one since he asked a historical economic question and it might be interesting to discuss. My only reservation is that it is very scanty. You can always use the report to moderator button if you think it is not worth discussing.

it is the history of the past that shapes the present economy of many nations. Most of the money people and government made from slavery was used to build big cities and sponsored many inventions and scientific research in many European and American higher institutions. Income from slave trading also gave birth to big businesses that still exist. All these viable utilization of these human and financial resources contributed to the economic development of these nations.

Let me also add that the slave trade also had some economic advantages for Africans. It also led to the establishment of big cities and it also led to the Introduction of certain food crops which is currently assisting some countries earn foreign currency.
271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you disguise on your real gambling lifestyle just to help a friend/relative? on: May 06, 2024, 01:59:51 PM
Does any of you guys have any negative side of gambling habit in you which literally you advices anyone not to exhibit it?
Or can you afford to hide your real disreputable gambling life just to help an astray gambling friend or relative?
Parents will always claim to be saints before their children because they don't want the children to exhibit any negative behavior they engage in. Mentors will also want to showcase themselves as superhumans because they want their mentees to always believe them. It is common to lie because it looks like the best way to advise or motivate somebody.

I try as much as possible not to lie to people because I want to look superior. I tell people about my struggle and show them the steps I am taking to overcome it. I can hide some negative behavior from a child but pretending before fellow gamblers that I am not having problems with my gambling budget, when it is a lie is self deception and I wouldn't consider it. You might even get help from others if you expose your own problems. One can help someone who has having gambling disorder without exhibiting a Superman personality.
272  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much of my salary should I use to gamble on: May 06, 2024, 12:16:32 PM
There is no specific answer each individual has their reason for the percentage they allocate for gambling but whatever the amount you should make sure that you allocate first for payment of all the bills and all your family and your needs and savings, your allocation should not hurt your family's finances, you will enjoy your gambling session knowing that you don't have to win so you can sustain your needs.
That's true. News, like someone used house rent, school fees, savings, and selling properties to gamble wouldn't occur if there was a well-enforced gambling budget. The general view is to gamble with what you can afford to lose but let me add that we should gamble with the amount that will not affect our plans. I expect every responsible gambler to always set aside funds for savings before crediting any casino account.

Most gamblers complain that they don't have money to invest because of inflation but they still afford money to gamble. I have friends who will tell you that funds used for gambling are small and insignificant. But you will know that that money you call insignificant will become huge if you save for a long time. You will be a happier gambler if you can take care of your needs, have savings and if possible an investment.
273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US senators warn on Iran Bitcoin mining industry on: May 06, 2024, 10:24:33 AM
US senators Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Angus King (I-Maine) this week warned in a letter to government officials that Iran’s Bitcoin mining industry has created a revenue stream big enough to weaken the effects of economic sanctions.

Crypto mining allows Iran “to purchase imports, move funds domestically and internationally, and fund Hamas” and other terrorist organisations, the letter said, adding that this “ongoing activity by the Iranian government threatens our national security.”
These Senators are just haters of Iran and Palestine. The same set of senators raised the alarm that Hamas is been funded with cryptocurrencies. They are just surprised that Iran has been able to withstand Western sanctions. So they are just seeking means to place more sanctions on Iran with this Bitcoin mining claim. The contribution of Bitcoin mining to the Iranian economy is insignificant compared to the size of the economy. Considering the decentralized nature of Bitcoin, it will be difficult to stop Iran from gaining from Bitcoin mining.

This stupid grandma Warren. A letter? Does this honorable senator want to increase American military presence in the middle east and escalate the situation into direct war because this grandma is anticrypto? Does she know what she is doing or is everything only because of corporate interests by her backers?
Using the word stupid to depict a 74-year-old senator just because of her views about crypto might be inappropriate. As a lawmaker, her job is to propose laws and it is up to the house to determine if her position is good or bad. The reason for her constant attack on the crypto industry might be because of her ideology or negative perception of the industry.
274  Economy / Economics / Re: Take care of your money and learn to save. on: May 05, 2024, 07:02:40 PM
I can imagine how difficult it is to save money when someone only has one source of income with regional minimum wages that vary widely in Indonesia. The highest Regional Minimum Wage in Indonesia is $335 per month, this amount will most likely not be enough to meet living needs for a month during the inflation. The prices of all basic commodities are expensive, then the increase in taxes also causes many bills to increase.
It seems this economic problem is universal. In my country, the minimum wage cannot take care of the needs of an average worker because of inflation. The price of goods and services has increased and some workers will have to take loans to survive. During the last workers' day celebration, the government promised to increase salaries because they are well aware that our currency is becoming worthless.

Quote
Of course, everyone has different life needs and that allows them to save money. But I think it's very difficult because somehow the impact of inflation really means they have to spend more. Fuel prices have gone up, electricity bills have gone up, basic commodities have gone up, even vehicle and other taxes have also gone up. It's obviously difficult to save, but it's still possible if they have more than one source of income.
Seeking for other sources of income has become a priority for salary earners. With the high rate of inflation, it will be better to seek for part-time or remote jobs to back up full-time jobs. Some of my colleagues are venturing into agriculture for them to produce their food and also sell surplus produce.
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 05, 2024, 06:43:05 PM
CHELSEA FC is officially ahead of MANCHESTER UNITED in the table

I was surprised that Chelsea is currently ahead of Manchester United in the English premier League table this same season. This gets to show how bad Manchester United and Erik Ten Hang has been this season. It seems I have lost confidence in Manchester United coach, he makes alot of substitution errors and also he isn't good in managing players. When he started with Ronaldo, we didn't know he would extend to other players. He lost Ronaldo, Elanga, Sancho and Greenwood and these guys are doing great in their respective clubs.
I personally will not be happy if Chelsea finishes above Manchester United this season and Guardiola and his boys go home with the title for the 4th consecutive times.
I perceive that you are a Manchester United fan or you don't just like Chelsea. There is nothing special in Chelsea being ahead of Manchester United in the EPL. Infact, I am surprised that Chelsea is not top four position based on the amount that was spent to get new players this season. Chelsea fans shouldn't celebrate much because United still has an extra game and the Blues are highly inconsistent. They usually lose games you expect them to win. You might be surprised that Chelsea will lose their next game in Nottingham Forest.

Erik Ten Hag lacks player management skills. He should learn from great coaches like Carlo Ancelotti who are skillful in managing some of the best players in the world. The case of Jadon Sancho is the most painful. The Dutchman would have reconciled with the player because he was in great form. Now United will be watching the exploits of the Englishman in Borussia Dortmund with regrets.
276  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much of my salary should I use to gamble on: May 05, 2024, 06:14:36 PM
Gambling is becoming a popular thing in my locality almost everyone gamble and even colleagues gamble and engage in gambling related discussions at work,  so gambling is legal and very popular so there is no Shame in using part of a salary to gamble with that is why I am asking the question of what the right percentage from my salary that I should use to gamble?
The amount of your salary you will spend on gambling will depend on the cost of living in your country and your plans. Low-income earners whose income cannot cover their monthly expenses have no business with gambling. They will have to focus on providing basic needs rather than gambling. If you live in a country where there is a high cost of living and you can't even save any money because of inflation, you have to consider setting aside little funds for gambling.

Secondly, some people don't have any plans for savings and investment, which means they can set aside high funds for gambling since they will have extra funds after allocating funds for their monthly needs. But if you have to budget for savings and future investment, you gambling budget might be affected. Personally, my gambling monthly gambling budget is between 4-6% but it can also increase or decrease based on some circumstances.
277  Economy / Gambling / Re: Building a unique Casino game from scratch. What features do you want? on: May 05, 2024, 01:25:33 PM
Some proposed features
  • All revenue generated from this game is distributed among active players for the first few months
  • Live active users count so you know who else is playing at the same time
  • Solana, Bitcoin, Ethereum deposit options. No fiat for now
  • Lo-fi cafe/arcade-type aesthetic

I'm hoping to launch this sometime in the next few days. Any suggestions are appreciated!! I look forward to building this together.
Is this proposed casino for profit making or a corporative because you said revenue generated from it will be shared among active gamblers? It sounds interesting since active members are now partners. But this kind of arrangement will not last for a long time since you will need money to run the casino. If revenues are distributed who will bear the cost of operation when the casino is not on profit?  I hope you have the funds to make it run smoothly for the proposed months.

Besides having interesting services and games, this forum respects casinos that are fair and trustworthy. Some new casinos came up with new ideas but ended up scamming gamblers. Others failed to pay winners by giving flimsy excuses. Such casinos will end up losing the trust of the community and end up fading away. Have the vision of building a casino that will build a good reputation for a long time. Having an active and experienced customer support personnel is also very important.
278  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Dutch police confiscated assets worth €11,400,000 (including cryptocurrencies) on: May 05, 2024, 12:47:06 PM
It is disheartening to see people being defrauded because they trusted an organization. These people believed that they were investing in the right platform only to discover that they were dealing with fraudsters. Just like other criminals they decide to spend the money on luxury. This is a wake-up call for investors to do in-depth research on any project they intend to invest in.

The Fiscal Information and Investigation Service which is the agency responsible for financial crimes in the Netherlands has told anyone who has lost money from ZKAS to contact them. Hopefully, the recovered funds and assets would go a long way in paying back what customers have lost. And these fraudsters would be found guilty and receive fair sanctions.
279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 04, 2024, 10:46:53 PM
Sassuolo 1 - 0 inter

This was a game in which I didn't expect to see Inter win because Inter are already champions, they don't have anything else that matters this season and knowing that next month there will be the Euro games so the Inter coach's best decision for this and the remaining series A games and to put players who did not have the opportunity to play during the many series A games, this naturally puts inter on the same level as weak teams, but at the same time allows inter's good players to be saved so they can play in the euro for their national teams. In this game, Inter played most of the players who didn't have the opportunity to play throughout the season, I even thought that Lautaro Martinez wouldn't play, but probably Inter's coach played Lautaro so he could score a goal and finish the league as the top scorer. With this victory for Sassuolo, they have a small chance of not being relegated

Monza 2 - 2 Lazio

well, this was a game that I expected Lazio to be able to win because they are in better shape than Monza, in the last 5 games Lazio managed 3 wins and 1 defeat, they came into this game with a sequence of 3 consecutive victories, while Monza has gone 4 consecutive games without winning, and when I saw that Lazio scored a goal in the 3rd minute I thought it would be a very easy victory that Lazio could get in that game, but Monza managed to equalize in the 73rd minute. but 10 minutes later Lazio scored the second goal, something that made me think again that Lazio's victory was already guaranteed, I was surprised when Monza scored the second goal in the 90th minute
Inter Milan needed to win the game to continue their unbeaten run while Sassuolo was fighting for the win to survive. I am happy that the team that is avoiding relegation won because Inter doesn't need the result for anything. Indeed, Sassuolo couldn't have won this game if Simone Inzaghi featured the main players. Some key players need to be rested to avoid injuries while new players will be tested to see their capacity. This is a good opportunity for the coach to begin to build his team for next season. Lautaro Martinez is still featuring because he is still fighting for the Serial A's highest goal scorer. This win has given Sassuolo the hope to keep gunning towards avoiding relegation and remaining in the Serial A next season.

Lazio's draw with Monza has put them in a very tight condition which might make their goal of Europa League qualification difficult. They might be displaced from the seventh position if Fiorentina wins the two games they have since Lazio has played two games more. Both teams might still be at 60 points but Fiorentina has more goal advantage. Lazio underperformed in the game against Monza. The host had more ball possession and shots on targets than Lazio. The visitors were always ahead but their distraction caused them to keep losing the lead. Monza missed so many opportunities to kill the game but I still congratulate them for getting a point.
280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think US Paypal Users would be interested in buying cryptocurrency? on: May 04, 2024, 09:12:09 PM
Quote
Also, for many people (for example, the elderly and uneducated), buying, storing, using bitcoin is something extremely complicated and therefore, such people will be very happy to use the services of intermediaries, like PayPal. Which, in a way, also act as a guarantor of security, which will be taken advantage of by their clients who want to shift responsibility to Paypal.
I don't see any difference between this and buying a Bitcoin ETF. Paypal has been known to lock users accounts ( I don't know if they have changed) who speak ill against them on social media or online.
I don't think PayPal offers crypto custody service. PayPal only serves as a payment service provider that facilitates the buying and selling of crypto. The owner can always transfer the coins to his choice wallet. So this service is different from ETF where buyers don't control or have custody of their investment.
It's true that the service is not the same as what ETF is offering, but they are also offering a custodian service for people who buy crypto from them and decide to hold it there without withdrawing. Is that not them helping the person to hold their coin for them? Is custody service far from that?
I was wrong and I apologize for the misinformation. I just checked PayPal services on crypto and you are correct. They also offer custodian services just like exchanges. Only people with little knowledge about such platforms will keep huge funds in them. These platforms can easily be manipulated by regulatory agencies.

Oh yes, they can help you withdraw it to any wallet of your choice after you purchase from them. Then what? They will keep track of where even every bit of that coin is moved to start from your first withdrawal, unless you use some privacy service. Once the authorities ask for your data, they will hand it over without any second thought.
Of course, anyone dealing with these centralized platforms such as PayPal should be aware that they have lost privacy. This is the same thing with centralized exchanges and other centrally run crypto service providers. Using an anonymity tool is a must if you want to enjoy privacy after patronizing these platforms.
