261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in stocks with crypto? on: May 09, 2024, 09:44:46 AM
Is there a way to invest directly in stocks with crypto? I'm talking about depositing BTC or any altcoin in a broker/exchange and use the funds to buy a stock of your choice. With crypto getting popular each day, it would be disappointing if we didn't have such a feature. It's likely stocks will be tokenized on the Blockchain the future.

If you know of any broker/service/exchange that allows this, please let me know. Thanks. Smiley
As for your query, what difference does that make? After all, if you deposit your Bitcoin in such a regard, it's not that they will credit you in Bitcoin, they will rather credit you in USD and other hard currencies. Why not use your fiat when you can easily convert your Bitcoin to fiat yourself?  Also, I advise you that you should not due to looking for such a service and become a victim of a fraudulent service, be warned. And if you must do a thing like this, you might want to use one of the good traditional FX brokers offering stock services too, the common ones like HFM. Just know the cost and weigh your risk.
I reason with what you said, if investing in stocks with crypto is a viable option or will be a profitable venture, I believe that some crypto developers would have created something for it, so I guess that it's not a very good business reasoning and that is why something like that is not popular yet. I'll rather use fiat to buy stock through a certified stockbroker, to avoid being a victim of scammers, then I'll just go on and hodl my Bitcoin, as we're entering bull run.

263  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: My brothers and sisters, why are we buying Dogs and Cats alternative crypto. on: May 08, 2024, 05:23:17 PM
I reason your question, and I believe say di reason wey many people take de buy dis memecoins wey you de call cats and dogs na because of quick profits, many people ready to gamble dem funds for a chance to gain plenty profit on the short term, but di reality be say most of di dev. teams of dos projects na scam dem carry for mind. No be everybody get dat patience to de hodl Bitcoin on di long term, de wait until bull run go come before dem begin to see plenty profit, so na man die once be dem way,  either say make dem profit or lose dem money.

Me personally i no get di risk absorber to buy all dis risky altcoins, na Bitcoin, wey sure pass all of dem and na im I de focus my investment capital on, apart from di baba, na only top altcoins, wey don proof dem reputations na im I fit to take my money buy.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who's responsible for the dead coins? on: May 08, 2024, 03:05:15 PM
I think that developers and investors can be responsible for the death of a coin or token, it just depends on the angle from where the coins meets it's dead end. Most times it's from the developers end, some will have the intention of exit scam before the project is launched in an exchange, the first set of investors, including them will make profit, then when more investors starts to buy,  the project will then die. Other times if a project doesn't live up to it's hype, investors will see it as a shitcoin, and that might be the beginning of the end for it.
265  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: AltCoins hypes re similar to politicians promises during campaigns on: May 08, 2024, 01:03:50 PM
No be lie, similarities de between corrupt minded politicians wey de give fake promises, only to get your vote and support, and scammers wey de create new projects with the aim of scamming investors, dem go hype their projects well well, only to disappear with people hard earned money. Investment in altcoins, de risky and anybody wey wan enter inside suppose get dis fact for dem mind, because most of dem na scam, even if you wan gamble your funds to buy dem, make you atleast know how to research dem. Aldo no be all di whole altcoins be scam, we get top altcoins like Ethereum, BNB and Solana, wey don proof like dem oga wey be Bitcoin say dem de reputable for di crypto market.
266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust bitcoin holders? on: May 08, 2024, 11:43:32 AM
Pretty sure these days, nobody is anti government. Or at least the majority of Bitcoin holders aren’t. If they were they wouldn’t of KYC on exchanges to buy and sell their crypto.

Most of the holders are probably nothing but speculators. They aren’t in it for the advances bitcoin can make for society, they are in it for the monetary gains. Many earlier adopters were different. But these days, everyone is getting into crypto to get rich, not go against the government.
Thanks for this clarification, I believe that most investors that are holding Bitcoin, are just for business purposes, a store of value where they can put their money and believe that on the long run, it'll acrue many times over in ROI. Bitcoin holders can not be anti banks, because they use them to make fiat transactions everyday, most people that hodl Bitcoin will not even like to use it to make payments for purchases, they'll rather use fiat and hodl their Bitcoin. Also Bitcoin, holders in countries where it's not banned can't be anti government, why should they? The only thing that the governments can do is collect tax when they want to convert to fiat through CEX, but then they collect tax on almost every money related transactions.
267  Economy / Economics / Re: The knowledge Economy on: May 08, 2024, 10:52:22 AM
Knowledge economy is not something new, it started from the stone age where individuals and societies that have superior intellects always used it to manipulate and lead those that are average and poor intellectually, to develop and increase their personal or national economy. Developments and economical advancements have gone through stages and what we have now is advanced technology, like the internet, AI and modern warfare, countries that have these in abundance like the US, China and some western European countries, have very rich economies, unlike a continent like Africa, that is still backwards with leaders that are not proactive.
268  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will the real bull run begin? on: May 08, 2024, 08:57:02 AM

I will continue to hold as I feel we are only months away from the real bull run but it is testing my patience lately waiting month after month for some real price action.

How is everyone else feeling?
Nobody can pinpoint a perticular date when the upward trend will start that Bitcoin will continually be bullish till it reaches it's peak, the only thing we can do is just to speculate price, because it's a volatile market. There's a reason why Bitcoin is long term investment, so patience is a virtue while holding it, although nobody can stop the holder from selling at anytime, but it's worth the wait to sale in the peak of bull run to maximize ROI. You've said it that bull run will start in a couple of months, and the history of other bull runs attests to it that after halving it'll happen like that, so I won't worry because the time of harvest is almost at hand.
269  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can divorced couple reunite?? - please share experience on: May 08, 2024, 08:03:52 AM
I don't have experience of divorce, neither have a withnessed a divorced couple that came back together as husband and wife again, but I believe that it's possible, because marriage should be by choice. I think that it'll be very rare for divorced couples to reunite and marry again, even if they later realize that it was a mistake for them to go their separate ways, they'll still move on because of their pride, and they'll hope to meet someone better. I don't think that it's a good idea for divorced couples to come back and remarry again, because they might live in fear of offending each other again, to avoid another divorce, and this might remove the excitement in the marriage.
270  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How active can a newbie be daily? on: May 08, 2024, 07:34:00 AM
Merely being active with many posts can not guarantee your growth in the forum, if the posts are of low quality, then it makes no sense, you'd rather do 1 quality post in a day and it's ok. As a newbie, there's no pressure to do any specific number of posts, because you're not yet in a signature campaign, so the focus on newbies should be to learn about Bitcoin and the crypto space to increase their knowledge. Don't let merit to be your primary reason to make posts everyday on the forum, because if it doesn't come as you expect, it can be very frustrating, so focus on learning and posting quality crypto contents and you'll eventually get merit and rank up.
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you rather invest in MATIC or SOL currently? on: May 08, 2024, 07:00:24 AM
One year ago everybody praised MATIC

One year ago people were contemplating whether Solana, will survive, this is the irony of the crypto market, a developer team can make all the difference, if they're proactive like the Solana team. As it stands today, Solana, is ahead of MATIC, and almost every comments on this thread has attested to that, but MATIC, dev. team can come out strong with new innovations like Solana, and change their naretive, because nobody is talking much about them now.
272  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Arizona moves to repel abortion ban but Trump could make it US wide on: May 07, 2024, 03:59:53 PM

Thanks for correcting this misinformation, the US is a top democratic government, and the definition of democracy is about the voice and wish of the people, therefore insinuating that a president will impose his personal will or religious beliefs in a country like the USA is not possible. I think that the OP is a supporter of Joe Biden, and is campaigning for him, but let's not forget that Donald Trump, was once a US president, so the American people in this forum will answer better if he had tried to push for a notional ban on abortion. I think that Americans are in a better position to choose their next president, one is the current president and the other is the former president, so let them vote who they think will serve them better as the next president.

You obviously don't understand how things work in the United States. Republicans have already made abortion illegal in many US states, and stopped all doctors nationwide from using the abortion pill for several weeks while they fought in court.

I clearly don't understand how things work in united states, and as it regards abortion laws, if Donald trump's, administration was anti abortion, the present Joe Biden, administration is pro abortion, then I think it's a good thing that we're in an election year, so let the American people vote for what they want.

I based what I said about misinformation on the report that Donald Trump, said that it's states that'll determine whether they'll allow abortions in their states or not, if he actually said that, then if any states outlaws abortion, it has nothing to do with the federal government. I think that even if abortion is banned in any states, there should be clause that'll covers rape cases.
273  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Mastering the art of delayed gratification on: May 07, 2024, 03:16:33 PM
E get one book wey I read SEVEN HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE by Stephen Covey, di book really relate to dis topic. Habit 1, begin with the end in mind, e talk about beginning with envisioning di goal wey you wan achieve, na im go give you di energy and motivation to achieve am. Habit 2, first things first, meaning say you need to go through di process to achieve that goal. If person follow di 7 habits, e go de easier for am to fit to hodl a store of value like Bitcoin, for up to ten years without distractions.

Aldo sometimes di mind go de willing to delay collecting gratification or ROI, but e get problem like health issues wey fit to hit person, wey im no go get a better option but to prematurely sale im Bitcoin before di planned time. But person wey get a steady source of income, wey sale im investment to buy luxury items or trow party wey no be di original goal of di investment, dat person de indiscipline and im fit no make am for life, because im no de financially effective.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most "Memecoins" are not even coins, most "Memecoins" are tokens on: May 07, 2024, 02:15:27 PM
~
And today, most "Memecoins" are not even coins, most "Memecoins" are tokens. Keep in mind when investing.
The term "meme coins" has been used by many investors and became popular hence, it was called meme coins, but you're right.
Meme coins doesn't have it's own blockchain "EXCEPT" Dogecoin that has it's own blockchain already, and Shiba Inu is the next on the list (based on a quick google search).

I think that the genesis of all cryptos in the meme category being called memecoins could be because the first meme, being dogecoin, is a coin, so the name became a catch for others in the meme category, whether it's a coin or token. I guess what matters to memecoins investors is making quick profits whether it's a coin or token doesn't really matter.

I think that Shiba Inu, is next in line like you said, to become a coin like doge, they're planning to launch their own Blockchain, which is a good innovation by their dev. team. There's a thread about it on this forum.https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5495467.msg64042641#msg64042641
275  Economy / Economics / Re: Take care of your money and learn to save. on: May 07, 2024, 12:18:13 PM
Nothing lasts for ever and any young person that understands this will know that money in your hands can finish, therefore it's very important to plan for old age when you're not able to work to earn more money. So the importance of savings and investments when the money is pouring in can not be overwhelmed, a person that spends all that they earn will become a dependent or a destitute in old age, when they're too weak to work.

Although with the rate of poverty in most underdeveloped countries, the concept of savings and investments is a mirage to them, because when you don't even earn enough money to eat a decent meal, how will you be talking about savings, not to mention investment. What I'm saying will sound like fiction to people in developed countries and the rich in impoverished countries, but the truth is that there many people in this poor countries, who are just hopelessness, they don't even remember that there's a future.

277  Economy / Speculation / Re: LAST CHANCE TO BUY BITCOIN..... on: May 07, 2024, 10:32:36 AM
I think that now might not necessarily be the last chance to buy Bitcoin, because bull run is just getting started and as most of us are speculating that Bitcoin price will go above $150k in the peak of the season, that it's still safe to keep accumulating. I personally don't bother much about this short term pump and dump because we're entering the bull run, I just focus on my DCA method, and I'll only consider slowing down on buying, if price reaches approximately $120k, this is my strategy for buying Bitcoin in this season. I think that it's newbies that will panic and sale anytime that price dips on the road to bull run, experience investors will still hodl their Bitcoin, because they know that it's only a matter of time and price will start to surge.
278  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Arizona moves to repel abortion ban but Trump could make it US wide on: May 07, 2024, 08:07:01 AM
Why spread misinformation and lies? Is it because you’re ignorant and have no idea what you’re talking about? Did you just make this up and decide to post it thinking it was smart? Are you laughably misinformed by some liberal propaganda machine posing as a news outlet?

Trump is about state rights and has said time and again that the Federal government should stay out of the abortion issue. Pretending he wants to rule one way or another federally about abortion is idiotic.
Thanks for correcting this misinformation, the US is a top democratic government, and the definition of democracy is about the voice and wish of the people, therefore insinuating that a president will impose his personal will or religious beliefs in a country like the USA is not possible. 279  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I hope I'm doing the right thing. on: May 07, 2024, 07:15:22 AM
Bitcoin is one of the best investments that anybody can go into, and you're in the right place to learn and gain knowledge about it, you just need to understand some basics to start the investment. Bitcoin is not a short cut to riches, meaning that you need to hold it on the long term for you to get a desirable ROI, also you can adopt the DCA method to continuously accumulate it. Keep your seed phrase in a very secured location, because if you misplace it or it's stolen, that means that your Bitcoin can be lost forever. We're entering bull run, that means that if you start accumulating now, in about one year's time, there's high chances that you'll get more than x2  of your investment capital.
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba Inu plans to use $12 million to develop a Layer-3 blockchain on: May 07, 2024, 06:15:41 AM
Shiba Inu has been trying different things. Most of it didn't turned out to be exactly a success but yet they bring the boost in price for the token and subsequent profit to the holders. They had been one of the most active and creative team for a memecoin so no wonder they are leading among the meme tokens. Many other meme coins have no active developer or are not trying to do anything else while Shiba Inu keeps on bringing new things. I'm not sure what exactly is an L3 but I believe they are working to shifting at their own blockchain.
I'll have to commend the Shiba Inu, developer team for being relentless in adding innovations to their project, this is something that other altcoins should emulate, I believe that we can see a positive impact from their leyer 3 Blockchain. Remember that people were skeptical about Solana, whether it was going to survive last year, but their dev. team went to work and today everybody is talking about Solana, so we can not write off Shiba Inu, yet. The crypto market is volatile and quite unpredictable, a token that is pronounced worthless can resurrect and become bullish.
