It was round 41 block 172375, before you made the fix. Got so disappointed that I dropped out for a few rounds, happily not for good! looks like you picked a good time to take a break. well, i was present all of block #47 and was issued .54 bitcoins for 4911 shares, the person right above me received .61 for 1685.
i first started in block #46, reached 5,901 shares, and received .38 bitcoins. some fellow named NoodlesMcGee received .41 for for 5,499.. fair enough, since it seems like he's been around for a while. in block 47, he received .32 for 1039 shares, vs (as mentioned earlier) .54 for 4911. miners were running the whole time.
i shifted some off after seeing that, seems a bit extreme.
the only time I came out ahead on a pool with a similar system was after I stopped mining
With block #47, we don't know what that person above you contributed in prior rounds. You have to look at how many shares it takes to solve the block too. You will have some earnings that carry over to the next round as well, as you pointed out.

actually, c is way too low, giving a disproportionately large value to shares submitted near the end of the round.
That is truly fucked up. I received 0.00000025 BTC for my avg 222 MH /sec, whereas someone mining 10x less shares got 10,000x more reward that round. Even if you adjust the parameters I cannot see how it would be more profitable than deepbit for anyone who mines intermittently. Oh, btw the pool rewards graph is one day early. Unless it's March 26th somewhere already...? Which block was this on? c being too low was fixed as of round 43, and the adjustment to the parameters was actually huge, despite the numbers looking small. Round 45 was extremely long.. 4.8m shares, though we did end up paying out 57 BTC for it. The further from the end you dropped out, the further reduced your rewards would be. Also, it may take a few rounds of mining most of the time for your score to stabilize. This is the nature of DGM. If you're just mining for 10 minutes at a time here and there, a DGM pool is probably not the best option for you but you'll have to try it out and see. Another feature of DGM is cross-round leakage. As an example, GigaVPS stopped mining hours before round 45 was over but still got 0.67 BTC at 329k shares, and he hasn't mined at all yet on round 46 but if the round ended now he'd receive 0.31 BTC for it. I believe that the graph will show anything mined on the current day UTC as belonging to the following day.

So if I mine with the 3.50% there is still technically a -2% fee with the 4% bonus ('Cause of invalids counting).
Good idea making special features require people to donate, I haven't personally seen that before.
Oh and I love the website's stats pages, they are very organized and easy to read.
Thanks ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) It'd be a -0.88% fee (0.88% bonus). The bonus is applied first and then donations are taken out.

Just came over to the pool last night. Site looks great.
Submitted 270k shares in the last round and got paid .06 BTC because I left before the round what over. ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) What kind of DGM settings do have have to decay shares so quickly and why? Thanks for giving it a whirl. You must have left pretty early in the round, which required 2.2m shares. The values can all be seen here: https://www.maxbtc.com/work-payouts?w=41currently: f = 0.0505, c = 0.01, o = 0.8 edit: actually, c is way too low, giving a disproportionately large value to shares submitted near the end of the round. starting round 43, the values will be: f = -0.1555, c = 0.1, o = 0.8 bonus is reduced to 4% I'm open to suggestions, discussion on what those values should be. I notice you plan to process payouts via moneybookers, just be cautious since they refuse to deal with any bitcoin-related trading.
I have another business that does 1000+ txns/day. I was planning on funneling the Bitcoin withdrawals through that account. Technically, withdrawing to MB or PayPal isn't really the same as selling Bitcoin. We already have the Bitcoin.. we'd just be paying you for your hashing contribution with dollars instead but it's probably best to obfuscate the transaction just in case.

Just joined. You might want to make the auto-payout feature dependent on the user inputting a wallet address first. I don't know how your system is designed to handle sending payouts to nothing.
Thanks for joining, and for the suggestion. Currently, if you don't have a wallet address and you enable auto payouts, no payments will be sent but I do agree that we should probably just disable the auto payouts option (and direct users to enter a wallet address to enable it) for users who don't have a wallet address set yet. edit: this is now implemented. I've been mining here since the beta. It's been amazingly stable. btcx has been very responsive to suggestions to improve the pool. Plus, he's just a nice guy (which sadly can't be said about some other pool ops).
I give the pool 9 thumbs up!
Thanks, rando ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Your suggestions and help with testing have been great. Also, your mining operation is awesome!

I think the HAF X would have been easier, yes. I don't remember why we didn't get those.. maybe they weren't available at the time. Temps stayed lower with the cases closed, and temps will depend a lot on what your external temps are. I don't remember what those temps were. I've managed to work out a deal with someone on the forums to take all these rigs off my hands. Thanks everyone for your interest. Btw, we could use some help testing our our DGM pool, which is currently at 47gh and paying a 5% bonus: https://ogrr.com/viewtopic.php?f=373&t=1042

why do you have 1200W AND 850W ?
You could run those on a 1200 easily.
measured pull is up to 1600w

Total = $71,000. Take it all and I deliver within US for $65,000. Take it all and pick it up in Tennessee for $60,000. I will consider a payment plan of up to 6 months for trusted individuals who wish to take it all. I will consider a reward split maintenance agreement for some one with power <= $0.06 kwh.

Yeah... I guess it isn't so much about density, as it is about convincing the owner of the location to rent me the space and pay for the power at a decent rate. I'll have to sit on this one for a bit and run some numbers.
Unless you can find a former data center or something, getting the concentration of power you need could prove difficult. Sure, if you've got a giant house, you could put one machine in each room but then you have to deal with cooling and ventilation and trip hazards for the entire house. Ideally, you can get 400 amps coming off of one wall, where you can box them all up, cool them without cooling your entire building, and shoot the exhaust outside. Really, this probably won't make sense for anyone spending > $0.07/kwh.

I have the funds to take a lot off your hands if you decide to use multiple buyers at 25K or so but in that other thread you quoted 6990s at about $200 above market price for singles so not sure what your expectations really are.. In any case if you decide to split into a couple of large shipments I'll be standing by..
You're right.. I can't find any 6990s for sale at retail but I think the last price I paid was $700 a piece. I don't know if there is still a premium for them but 104 cards * $700 = $72.8k. So, there are really 2 components to this: 25 rigs, 29 extra 6990s + other hardware. The 29 cards might not be that hard to flip for $20k. In determining whether and how to split up the rigs, I'm considering how much of a hassle it's going to be to get them to the new owners. They're all in Tennessee now. Where are you?
|
|
|
Unfortunately, the pic you saw of them all stacked together in the garage is a pic of them in their current form. They're all offline and will not be reassembled in to their mining form. If you could do a setup like the guy in the above video, they won't take up that much space. It all comes down to your available power density, cooling/ventilation setup.
|
|
|
yeah, sorry.. these should be about 12.5-13.5 amps each, 120v @ 1500-1600w. I think we were getting around 2.4 ghs per machine @ ~1600w. What your overhead will be will depend a lot on your space/setup. These guys have a pretty good one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5f_e4P6gMA
|
|
|
You are going to need about 400 amps to handle these 25 machines @ ~16 amps each.
|
|
|
I have 25 complete, built and running 3x 6990 mining rigs (about 2100 mhs each), and another 29 loose/new 6990s, as well as some other bits that could probably make 5 more complete rigs. Well over $100,000.00 USD put in to this operation. All are located in Tennessee but I'm willing to have them delivered just about anywhere in the US/Canada. I'm seeking one, or a combination, of two options: 1. Sell all the gear outright for something in the area of $75,000.00 USD. Willing to do payments over time for a trusted party. 2. Find someone with the knowledge, time, infrastructure and cheap power (< $0.10/kwh) to run and maintain these systems. Willing to split a share of the mining rewards. I might be willing to break the sale of the systems up but probably wouldn't do less than 3x $25k. If you have any interest, please post here or PM me on this forum or over at Ogrr.com Original post w/ pics: https://ogrr.com/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=1139

I might be able to make this actually.
Any ideas where it would be held? Who would be speaking? What can we expect out of the conference?
Good questions. This idea just came up within the last hour so we don't have much of a plan yet. The last Silicon Valley Meetup had quite a few people at it, a lot working on interesting stuff. It's now 12:20am Saturday morning in California so we may not have anything concrete to offer for a few days. I'll spend the weekend getting in touch with local academics, venture capitalists, attorneys, entrepreneurs, all the Bitcoiner engineers at Google, Facebook, etc who might have anything to share. Hopefully, by Wednesday we can have at least a rough idea of what things will look like. There was also some talk of chartering a giant bus to drive a brigade of Bitcoiners from SF to SXSW sometime March 7th-9th.
|
|
|
First, nobody I've spoken with has been able to confirm that the San Antonio conference is actually happening.
I realize it's short notice for 2012 but a bunch of guys were already planning on meeting in San Francisco early March so we figured why not make a conference out of it. Who knows if we can put anything legit together in a matter of 2 weeks but at least we'll set some precedent for next year.
Here's why March 3rd-4th:
Nice weather. Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco happens March 5th-9th. SXSW happens in Austin, Texas Marth 9th-18th, which many people we'd like to have attend our SF conference will be at. This puts it 5-6 months apart from the NYC conference, if that is to happen again.
So, in doing in the weekend of March 3rd-4th, we potentially grab some GDC early birds, and we can catch local guys before they take off for SXSW. And, if you want to stay a few days beyond the Bitcoin conference, you can stand around outside the Moscone Center and drop Bitcoin propaganda on the GDC attendees.
Thoughts?
